Went here with my brother, who was visiting from out of state. Didnt try any food, though it smelled and looked good. We both had several beers and only spent about a hundred bucks, plus we got there before any cover charges started, so we got to stay the whole night and enjoy our time out. Over all, I give it 5 stars because we needed a decent place, and the barkeep was friendly, and people were mostly chill (other than the usual dirty downtown stuff that happens, seemingly, everywhere in Oregon these days....) and my brother even said he would go there again next time he comes down to visit.
There are a lot of things to do on different nights. Frequently jokes written at the entrance. Bathrooms could be better than they are. Shuffleboard, karaoke, & pool are hallmarks of this spot. All burgers are 8$ on Tuesdays.
I’ve only been here on western Wednesdays, however, the atmosphere is fantastic, drink prices are reasonable, and I think a $5 cover is okay considering there is dancing, pool, and karaoke. I love coming here
Well, what can you be said about the Peacock? It’s a bar in a college town. We used to go there after working all night on-call. We’d get the steak and eggs which were great! My husband and dad would go there to watch the beavers. My dad would get the burger and onion rings while my husband would get the veggie burger and tots. They also liked the dollar PBRs!!
My to go place for partying or hanging out with friends! Expect mostly young crowd. They have a karaoke at downstairs and DJ with dance floor on second floor. They also have pool tables and arcades. If you love dancing and partying, thats probably only place to go in Corvallis area! The bartenders are very friendly! Please tip them well! Its also a LGBTQ friendly place.
We got kicked out for doing something that we have done several times. We had some drinks on the bar and went out to have a smoke. When we came back in, our drinks were gone. I asked what happened to the drinks and I was told that they took them because we didnt cover them with a coaster. Now keep in mind that we have left our drinks unattended before and nothing happened to the drinks then. We were fine until another bartender came in to start her shift. So anyway I got mad about what happened. I didnt see any coasters, they were on top of where the taps are for the draft beer. Anyway like I said, I got mad and said,How can I cover our drinks with a fing coaster if there isnt any fing coasters. I was told that it was policy to cover the drinks. Well if its policy then why dont they give you a coaster when they bring your drinks. That makes more sense than just taking the drinks without saying anything to us. I would have been more than glad to get the coasters if I had only known.I think it was a bunch of B S, to kick us for that.
Good bar food, friendly service, good atmosphere. Didnt go upstairs to check out the dance floor, maybe next time.
Decent place, the bouncers here are quite terrible. Had some bald fella tell my friend he had to leave for being “too drunk” and my friend was literally just vibing and dancing to some good music, literally the most harmless person in the entire room got kicked out while there were creepy older men staring at women dancing.. apparently fun is not permitted here and one specific bouncer gets a power trip, i’d rather take my money elsewhere. i hope someday the owners can acquire better, more qualified employees.
Bouncers here are psycho and love to have power trips with customers. Would not come here again, it is insane this place is still allowed to serve people.
Amazing food bar tenders are so polite and make the most amazing drinks. Super good bloody Marys and customizable .
Sure the atmosphere is a run down bar, but the waitresses were nice and brought our burgers to us with a smile.Tuesday special which includes burger and fries was pretty good for $6.50.Bathroom smells like bad decisions. We were there for some grub while walking around the river front.People watching from the patio is a family activity that is a good time for all.
It was great and greatly appreciated. Im sure they could use more wait staff, cooks etc. I liked the outside customers too. And the eye exam people who wore their sunglasses in the dark. The juke box situation was descent, but would have loved to pick out tunes also. My baby is a real 🍑 by Henry Jamison. Not too sure about the actual spelling of all that, by the way. I do know we love that 🎵. Peace be with you-all. Solemn.
I had a fantastic experience at Toms Peacock Bar & Grill. The food, service, and atmosphere were all top-notch, giving it that wonderful small-town charm. Its the perfect bar for a college town like Corvallis. The highlight was when the OSU marching band showed up on a Friday night before the game – it was an awesome surprise!
Chill place, but every time I go the bouncers are straight up jerks. One refused to let me in or give me my ID back until I smiled. Makes me never want to go back
The bald Australian bouncer here is a serious moron. Kicked my friend out for being “too drunk” dude only had 3 beers and was just chillen, not making a scene or anything. Then the self proclaimed “bouncer for 8 years” proceeds to lecture us about alcohol and how it effects the cerebral cortex like he’s a doctor or something. Guy was clearly having a power trip and makes this place less fun.
Best spicy bloody Mary in town. Great food great price awesome service... what a gem!
Came with a buddy for a quick drink on a Wednesday night and they wanted $5 each just to enter? On a Wednesday night. Ill pass.
Although I have not tried many other places for breakfast, I certainly enjoy their avocado toast, thus far, the service has been amazing.
Ive always enjoyed the peacock. I think the burgers used to be a little bit better a few years ago but still not bad. Great for the price and the people that work there are very friendly.
Come dance the night away at the best bar in town. You wont be sorry. This place has a great atmosphere. Absolutely worth it.
Went in for a quick nip before we went shopping. Customers service was good. However, I got a double vodka red bull (well- vodka) mind you. Clearly made incorrectly with sugar-free Red Bull, but whatever. Brought it to her attention and she swore she made it with regular redbull however, when we were standing there waiting for our second round, watching her make our drinks after mentioning it, AGAIN she used sugar free redbull I said “that’s sugar free” and she says sorry, I’ll only charge you for a single. Okay cool. Time to check out… I was charged 18.50 For the first incorrectly made drink. HOW?! Cause for the single AND a corona it was only 9$. MAKE IT MAKE SENSE?Now to the food. Burger was over cooked, the French dip was good for what it was, the “special” was filly cheesesteak fries that were clearly microwaved to melt the cheese, Super unimpressed. Was pretty over mediocrity by the time I was signed the check.
Super chill place to meet friends. However this is a college town so if you are 50 or over go there before 5:00. Some of the music is pretty nasty but it made me laugh watching my friends hear the lyrics. This is not a James Taylor bar, however they do have decent burgers good fries and a really delightful crew that works there. The pool tables are clean and level they do have one shuffleboard table. Decent prices and Ive heard that they do the excellent breakfast for about two bucks? On Sundays not sure about that
This place is responsible for the absolute worst night of my life.too chaotic to have fun. I really felt like I didnt not belong there. I will never go back there again
Had to pick up a delivery from here this afternoon .. Good service and friendly staff.. i never much cared for the bar scene but the bartender made me feel at home!! I recommend
Great atmosphere, strong drinks, pool and karaoke. Whats not to love?
No a/c in this place but wife and I and friends decided to order eats anyway. We had the burgers and one friend had the mac n cheese. Burgers were okay and friend said mac n cheese was great. Recommend when they get the a/c working.
Unbelievable karoke might talent. Almost like Adele was there and I cant find the name of that song but it was performed, very intunte And... soulful. If that is too much, well too bad. It was rad and so was service thank you.
Do you love food, drinks and a fun environment that looks sketchy as hell? Then this is your place! The food here is on point, the drinks are delicious, the staff are the absolute best! When I say the staff are the best, I mean it. From the cooks to bartenders, these folks are crushing it!They have a food and drink special every day and the most amazing extremely cheap breakfast in all of the valley.Go visit and see for yourself. Youll be happy you did!
Excellent dive bar experience. Love karaoke nights along with the weekly specials, and when the dance floor opens up it can get pretty lively. The food is highly decent and definitely worth the price. All in all a good relaxed environment though it may get rough at times, isnt too much for the bartender or bouncer to handle.
Just a quick stop at the Peacock. My OSU roommates and I stopped in for a quick drink as part of our reunion tour. Service was great and fast. Drinks were delicious. There was an updated jukebox, run remotely thru a phone app. We listened to some great music. Only downfall, the music could not be heard well as we were near the pool tables.
The Peacock exists eternally as it is, has been, and will always be: a divey-ish bar by day with decent food at a great price along with the occasional amazing dish. And by night, the local place to go dancing to pop dance music along with their legendary (or infamous) western Wednesdays. It’s not a nightclub. They don’t have competition level pool tables. If you show up after 8pm on a Saturday night, don’t expect the bartender to play therapist for you.Overall, it’s a decent spot.
Great spot to go to watch your favorite sports. They have a bunch of TVs and will find a spot for you.The daily food specials are a great value at just $8.
Inclement weather was the reason most watering holes in town were closed this evening, but the Peacock was open and its delightful barkeep with the faux fur hat was a true delight.Wont forget it!
Service was outstanding. Rhea and Dakota were so friendly and attentive even though it was very busy
Food is always fantastic!! Love the specials! Bartenders are very friendly!! My favorite is Elaina! She is super sweet and kind!!! Dont find many bartenders like that nowadays! All of the rest of the staff are wonderful also!! Love that they offer karaoke almost every night! Also love the free pool on Sundays! The environment is just great and the patrons are too!
When I first went I called it a kids bar because I hadnt paid a cover charge in 10 plus years. But after visiting multiple times, Ive reevaluated, and come to the conclusion that Toms is a trendy patron oriented staple of downtown Corvallis. Great specials on food, reasonably priced drinks with a crowd that is super diverse in age and culture.
Grimey but the only place to dance in Corvallis so here we come.
Pool tables are awesome, have to pay to play but great condition. 👍 staffs okay some real creeps for security, food is great when you actually get it, if you get it. Seem to consistently find extra charges on my receipts. Might make sense if I wasnt the sober driver 🤔. I pay cash now. Dancing is great floors always sticky they dont police up the drunks enough so lots of spills. Not alot of seating upstairs usually very packed on Wednesdays and weekends.
Read the fantastic reviews and wanted to give it a try. My mom and I passed several breakfast diners on the way in -in their outdoor dining area. Food looked great. Sat down inside at a booth directly in front of the bar where 2 bartenders/servers were chatting and serving the 6 or so people at the bar. Both looked at us and simply continued chatting , wiping glasses, cleaning the bar, etc. Looked at us multiple times but never made any move toward greeting us, approaching our table, offering us menus, nothing. After 10 minutes, we gave up and left. Food might be great, I dont know. Service was non-existemt.
The place is a bit too warm for my liking when Im drinking. Good vibe and a diverse crowd. Corey was an excellent bartender. He is quick and has awesome short-term memory.
On top of the mistakes described below, I was charged more than what was on the menu. I ordered the bacon and blue cheese sliders. There was no blue cheese or bacon. I asked for those items. I got blue cheese but no bacon. At that point I gave up. Terrible
Never even made it in. We were in town to hang out with the kids a were met by the “bouncer” who was completely rude and unfriendly. We walked away and went elsewhere. This was early evening, the place wasn’t busy, there was no excuse for him to be rude. I think this establishment needs to know how people are treated at the front door.
They really need to keep a bouncer on the door to card people as they enter - not to be wandering around asking to see people’s ID time after time . It gets very old very quickly and super annoying too .My husband and I were in there recently with our twin 22 year old boys .They were asked 3 times to show their DL for their ID.The guy was very rude as if we shouldn’t be there at all .We bought drinks - my.boys were cardedWe played pool - again my boys were cardedWe then played shuffleboard - and they were carded AGAIN - all in the space of 30 minutes .REALLY .We dared to question it with all the 3 workers - and they all looked at each other as if neither of them had carded my boys . Complete baffoons all of them .Then they had the audacity to throw us out of the bar .That’s a new one to us - never had that happen before. Shame on them - ruining a lovely family evening .I think some customer care lessons are needed - being there were only 10 people left in the bar !!!!!They definitely need new staff members who know how to run a bar and be polite to customers who are there to enjoy themselves .Plenty more bars in Corvallis to go to and be treated with respect .I would say to avoid this one at all costs 😡
First time in 20 years....wow a time capsule.I am going to add some further feedback.Has a rustic charm with a hint of risk. The service was good. There was a couple of young folks drinking shorts at the bar and it was 1400 hrs, I have to admit I was envious the freedom!! It is a cool place because it sets out not to be cool I think and I have no hesitation in recommending this joint as it does not set out to do anymore than it delivers.
So Ive lived in the corvallis area my entire life but Ive never had the opportunity to stop in here! I was pleasantly surprised. The bartender was AMAZING, remembering my friends and Is name, gendering me correctly, the whole shabang. The food was delicious! I had a Hawaii burger and in combination with what felt like strongish drinks, I ate it in seconds. Overall I would recommend coming here if you need a nice little dive bar to go to while youre in town!
Honestly, I really liked this bar. Good food, drinks, and friendly bartenders. But the bouncer here is absolutely ridiculous, loves power tripping. The first time I had to leave was after a friend was kicked out for being too drunk. Weird, I thought, he didnt seem that bad to me. The second time was when I got kicked out, again for being too drunk. Not disorderly, not rude, just too drunk. After two drinks. The final straw was a girl friend of mine being told, while dancing, that she couldnt DANCE THAT WAY because she didnt fit the vibe they were going for. If you want to get a bite to eat, not a bad place. But dont you dare get drunk or have fun at this bar, its apparently against the rules.
I think that this is a place for a certain kind of person and I dont fit into that. The breakfast is inexpensive but not all that well made. The coffee is very poor. The coffee in the morning is sludgy and there I am being kind. The bacon is superb oh, but the sausage is definitely not Jimmy Dean. If youre looking for a drink with vodka and orange juice then it will be nice and strong. However if you go to a really quality mixed drink I dont have much use for them. It is not a place I would order a Bloody Mary. The hamburgers I have had there are five star, go figure. At times it acts as a homeless shelter and there you would be wise to try to avoid the smell. The staff are nice enough. Frankly I think the drinks AR are overpriced and that is because I like drinks that have been professionally mixed. Just because a bartender has mixed drinks for years does not make them an upscale professional.I just cant get past it being a one star.
Great dive bar. Friendly awesome service.
Service was excellent, food was good. More bar than restaurant which was fine. Minors welcome until 8pm and they were open for Christmas. One of few. Had more to offer than Sharis and was way better food.
Fun dive bar, when you feel like a casual after work stop. Rhea is amazing and makes sure you are a valued customer!! They have daily specials, lotto, and a touchtunes jukebox for a nice non pressured chill out environment. Bartenders are pleasant :)
Great food, good drinks at a good price and an outstanding atmosphere. Karaoke, pool tables, shuffleboard, and several nights a week (Wednesday, Friday, Saturday?) They open the dance floor on the second floor which was lit the last time I was there, 100+ people up there. If you are looking for a bar/club to hang out with friends this is a great location.
I have been a regular at the peacock for 15 years. The staff has always been so accommodating and Wonderful. The food is a little secret as everything is made fresh down to the mashed potatoes. They have a trading post menu for to go orders only that makes you feel like it’s a little secret only you know about. I have Always loved that even the security staff will talk to, entertain or even shoot a game of pool with you if they aren’t busy. Even if it’s your first time you will leave feeling like you are a regular and I promise you will come back for more!
As a dancer it’s pretty fun to come on western Wednesdays. The floor is pretty sticky though from people spilling their drinks and lots of non dancers who are drunk try to dance and it’s not as fun. DJ takes requests. Pretty nice bartenders and decently priced drinks. Wednesday $5 cover starting at 9pm. They have karaoke nights as well. I came here on my 21st and it was pretty cool!
Had a great experience. Drinks were served quickly with a positive attitude. Did plenty of dancing upstairs. Never went to the restroom so I cant judge how clean they were but judging by the rest of the place, Im sure it was clean. Also, they make a nice White Russian. Thats what I recommend.
Better than average pub fare. Good prices. I would give it 5 stars, but the bathrooms are pretty gross. Definitely a step up from what you would expect from a dive bar though. Great food specials as well. I definitely recommend
It was OK they had no ac just fans other other side of things our server was outstanding she was busy and attentive all at the same time the food was pretty good really nothing to complain about except for no ac
I wouldnt want to go dancing at this place because the college girls are stuck up because they dont want to dance with me because all they care about is their college education
Ive been going here for years and it never lets me down. The karaoke on Wednesdays is always a great time with an amazing KJ. They have pool tables and shuffleboard which is a good time while you sip your cheap and delicious drinks. Definitely recommend for anyone wanting to have a good time with some friends.
T-bone steak and eggs: The steak was over done, eggs were not well cooked per over-easy expectations. However, my sons pork sliders and chili were great, so 3 stars..
Down stairs has pool and lots of space, upstairs usually has live music and a dance floor. On busy nights there is a cover charge, usually 5$. Drinks are a little expensive as youd expect, but its worth it for the atmosphere.
Great bar aura. Downstairs, theres pool tables, good food, casual bar experience and a fun atmosphere to chill with friends. If youre the more high energy type, theres a DJ, dancefloor, lots of games, and another bar all upstairs on the weekends.
Waited in a 15+ minute line just for the bouncer with a mullet and mustache to say I was “too intoxicated” to let me in. Hadn’t even had one drink that night and was with a big group of friends for grad night. When I asked him why he thought I was too I intoxicated, he just continued to repeat I was “intoxicated” and needed to leave. Unnecessarily embarrassing and needless to say, never coming back.
This bar is the best place to have fun and unwind in Corvallis. I have never felt so much love from complete strangers. They have an excellent selection of beer, an internet jukebox and pool tables. The staff and local patrons are the best people youll ever meet. Dont miss it!
Great breakfast at a great price. Only reason not 5 stars is because of a long wait. Only one person working, other employee didnt show. Our waitress/bar tender was working as fast as she could and had a great attitude through it all.
Please do not go here for your nights out. Mediocrity drinks and cover fee. Staff are hostile and disrespectful towards customers
A pretty typical college-town bar scene - clearly popular with students. I went for Western Wednesday. Good vibe, decent DJ. Bartenders and bouncers were really friendly. I hear it gets much more crowded during the school year, but off-season it was pretty chill!
My girlfriend and I used to come here every Saturday for hangover breakfast and bloody marys. Today was a serious let down. Hash brown requested as crispy came out so blond, we wouldve been disappointed even if crispy NOT requested.Bloody Marys were extremely week. We ordered doubles so essentially wanted 4.50 per drink, as they were very clearly singles. We had to beg for a 3rd fork for our invited guest, and he had to provide me with his pocket knife as my request for a knife fell on deaf ears. The steak was fantastic, as was the sausage gravy, but the rest of the food was really substandard. And I really could not tell you how to ask for a properly cooked egg. All of them come out well done, regardless of request.I shouldve listened when 2 other places were recommended me, but nostalgia for the old Peacock got the best of me, for the last time.
I love the food and wish I could go to the actual bar. Burgers are great and so are the fries and mozzarella sticks. Food is always hot and delicious. Will definitely visit after this whole quarantine. Highly recommend checking them out.
This revue is of the downstairs only. A lively crowd, great music from the many live bands, good food, loose pool tables and cheap drinks. A bonus was that as a single woman, I always felt safe going in alone, even though it looks like a dive/biker bar from the outside. Tommy always keeps good control of the place and serves good drinks for the money. Great place for enthusiastic dancing too.
Perfect diner breakfast. I mean PERFECT! Get there before ten am and you can get a full breakfast for $4. Its like 1980s price!
It’s the local “major” bar in the downtown area. Everyone comes here to drink or to dance on the third floor. Dj mixing music, a bar and a ever present college crowd.Karaoke night is fun. Bathrooms are tiny but clean. Bartenders are nice and have good pours.
Enjoyed the ambiance and food a few years ago when I visited Corvallis. Fantastic and reasonably priced breakfasts...even enjoyed a sumptuous Thanksgiving meal there. The gals working the bar are fantastic ! Dont waste your time at Squirrels...this is the real mc coy !
Classic fixture in corvallis. Historical building. traditional stop in night life scene like pub crawls, dancing, and karaoke. Theres western Wednesday upstairs. Thursday- Saturday theres a dj and a great drink staff upstairs, black lights and a new dance floor.
Fun dive-y college bar with billiards, good drinks, and a fun atmosphere. The staff do a great job at enforcing safety standards (mask-wearing, business capacity, etc.) while maintaining a fun vibe. All other bars in this city proved to lack in these areas. I recommend this place 👌
Unbeatable early bird deals. They dont skimp, nothing overcooked or undercooked, sausages were bomb. Best place for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
Sometimes when places never change it is a good thing and labelled as Tradition. That is what brings me and my son back to the Peacock for Oregon State Football and Baseball games. Dive bar atmosphere with TVs and a shuffleboard. We enjoy sitting at the bar with a good choice of tap beer on hand and always excellent Hamburgers - the epitome of Burger and Beer. We will be back......
Great bar that typically consists of a healthy mix of younger and older crowds. The Peacock is always fun for karaoke and pool. However you will be waiting for quite awhile if you want to sing, depending on the day. Some of the pool tables are also right next to the bar and other booths so it can be difficult to play unless the bar is particularly dead. The bar can definitely get rowdy at times and security is forced to frequently kick people out on busy nights. This sometimes gets annoying but usually provides for some great entertainment.Go for Western Wednesdays and the bar will be packed, including the dancefloor on the 2nd level. There is a small cover on busy nights such as this though. Its usually around $2-3 a person, Ive certainly never seen it greater than $5.Overall one of my favorite bars in Corvallis.
Upstairs smelled like cat pee and was extremely sticky
Fun bar in downtown Corvallis with karaoke!
I invited my partner to an upscale restaurant to celebrate Mardi Gras. Although the food and drinks were fabulous, we waited half an hour for our drink order, then half an hour for our check. After working 10 hour days for several weeks, an hour of repeated I will get that right away was a bit disappointing. To lighten our spirits, my partner suggested we get a night cap at The Peacock. We were promptly greeted by the bartender, given a drink, and karaoke commenced! All the dinner stress melted away while sipping a double rum and coke and hearing my man sing My Neck, My Back Richard Cheese style.
Burnt half of my breakfast and undercooked the other half, no wifi, however lots of large screen T.V.s for your sports viewing pleasure!
Update; Great job on being Covid conscious. Thank you. What great prices for their meals. Early bird breakfast for $4. Wait staff is wonderful and hard working. Drinks, are a well made bonus.A dive bar with a lot of character worth driving from Albany to enjoy.
Dive bar. Yup. If thats what your looking for you found the right spot. This place is more nasty and dysfunctional than I imagined. We went in to check out the Karaoke and it was not as horrible as the furnishings or the caving in roof. The bathrooms were a few steps down from a prison latreen and I think the booth we were in had fleas or God help me if it was bed bugs. I can check this off my list of places I have seen and never want to visit again. I can say the service and staff were great but not great enough to add another star.
When I first walked to the door of this establishment I was greeted by this very kind and assertive gentleman who was standing out in front. He said to me enjoy your nightAs I walked in to this place it felt relaxing ànd I as I stood looking around I noticed they have pool tables!Right away I knew this was my kind of place. You could smell the food coming from the kitchen which smelt amazing.Second thing I thought was how happy I was to have grabbed my pool cue, it made my night.I approched the bar and was again greeted in a very polite manner and asked what would I like to drink. I gave him my order and he promptly served me my poison, it was a perfect drink. So I tipped the gentleman and found a seat by the pool table.Pulled out my stick and as I sat there looking around putting my pool stick together, I found myself very relaxed and in a mellow mood.I shot my games and drank my drink, I was even asked for some pointers from this very attractive young lady which right away helped improve her game. What a great night. Its too bad covid-19 is around and they close so early because I would have definitely stayed until they were closed at the normal time of 2:30am.I will definitely show my face at their place again.
I cant comment on the food, I came for the karaoke and pool. Both of which are a lot of fun and I havent done in quite a while. Its a fun little atmosphere and its clean
Minimum staff for breakfast. Poor service is the owners fault. Usually have to wipe our table/booth seat; grab menus and order at the bar for better service.
Cool bar and great staff. Never seen a unicorn Pabst handle till now. Good food.
We Love going to Peacock, good food reasonably priced. My only worry is they have more customers than 1 Bartender/waitress should be asked to handle.. Luckily our favorite server was working and even though it was overwhelmed bus she still maintained a friendly attitude, Props!
This place has amazing fresh food. The best juicy tasty burger Ive ever had. The service is on point. The best all around eatery and you can even play a game of pool after eating,if you can walk that is from being so full
Good appetizers good drinks good atmosphere. The bartender was quite entertaining. Im only giving it four stars right now because Ive only been there once and I do plan on going back and trying food
I picked up my food this morning and got a nasty attitude! If you cant be polite to any person/persons that walk in fine a different job! Bad attitudes show. Leave your pms issues at home.
They have karaoke!!! The DJ plays great selections & their sandwiches are good! We were super excited to discover they offer Jell-O shots 🤩
Sorry to say this place was a total let down. I would give it 1 star but they were friendly enough to earn 2 stars. I ordered a Philly cheese steak and the soup of the day, tomato basil. Ugh. The soup tasted like they mixed ketchup with garlic powder and basil. It was served almost cold which just made it that much worse. The sandwich. Well I managed to finish it, but it was agonizing with each bite. It tasted as though they mixed up beef chuck pieces with under cooked red peppers and something that was supposed to resemble cheese. Maybe I should swing by one morning and show them how to make this meal.
Rhea was our bartender. She is a delightful bartender! My daughter and myself had the BEST cup of soup.
NOT FOR ME. Drinks are moderately expensive, and you have to be the right kind of person to fit in here. Nice interior, okay atmosphere, some lovely woodwork, and the staff isnt precisely rude, but if you arent exactly the kind of person everyone there wants you to be, and theyre all pretty much clones of each other, youll feel more alone than you have in your life. I would say its working class, but Im not sure the people who go here actually work.
Watch your drinks on the busy nights (Western Wednesdays, especially). College town gets the best of the bar on the busy nights. Otherwise, the food downstairs is cheap and good, fun to play shuffleboard, pool, or watch karaoke. People watching is also entertaining.
Best food best weekly special best workers. An absolute YES for me. Couldn’t recommend them more especially on Wednesdays!
This is the quintessential greasy spoon Americana menu, with bloody marys, and a dank dark interior, with roomy booths, and a view of pool tables, and the ever present karaoke DJ booth downstairs. Its a excellent place for that hangover breakfast. Its kinda rough looking, but charming to an old carpenter, that likes a cold beer, or bloody Mary with my Saturday brunch.
The only reason this place has a 4.1 rating is that some must be ignoring what this place is really like. I stopped going due to badly made drinks. The Bloody Mary is more like a witches brew with a lot of booze and dried out pepper. The food is greasy. The transients staring at you is no fun either. In most bars you poor your heart out to the bartender. At the Peacock they poor their troubles out in hope of tips. Id give this place a 0.1 if I could.
Best burgers in town for the price on Tuesday night. The staff is friendly and attentive. Our first time back since the pandemic started. It was great!
About the only lively nightspot in Corvallis. Karaoke nightly. Upstairs has various music DJs throughout the month. Occasional bigger events. Some nights have cover charge (couple bucks). Nothing special on the inside as far as looks. Has a few pool tables, some nights theyre free.
Great atmosphere and food specials. Open for dine in or take out. Open 7 am to 1 am. All of the servers are nice and friendly. The spirit of Corvallis resides in this place. Visit soon and often; thus increasing your chance to catch the spirit. Unfortunately like Covid-19 the spirit is not worth catching. 6 days after the initial posting of this review social distancing has vanished and business is so good that you can sit at a table for a hour before you even get noticed. As for the spirit; its a lot like Dr. Jeckel. Blink and the bad part shows up.
Cool little dive bar but delivers what you may need.breakfast, lunch, full dinners, fried ice cream.full bar, lotto machines, shuffleboard, pool tables, upstairs and outside patio.staff was super friendly and the prices arent bad.
Toms peacock bar and grill is an amazing upstanding bar, they treat their customers with respect . The bar is a very amazing place to bring kareokee and play pool at, on Friday and Saturdays the upstairs opens up into a dance club. Its fun, enjoyable, and your surrounded by amazing people
I enjoy an occasional late morning breakfast, and I REALLY recommend the decent price of the 2egg, 2bacon, & hashbrowns!! I have them hold the toast+add sausage gravy over the hash browns. The price AFTER 10 a.m., until 2 p.m is a reasonable $6.99. Highly recommended!!!!😉
The bar (& Tender) were awesome as always. The poor homeless woman out front with her hand down her pants and screaming was a put-off. Not their fault. Not hers. Just very sad. More of a commentary on Corvallis in general than The Peacock!
Bartender was amazing. Made me a custom cocktail based on the flavor combinations I was feeling that night. Staff was very friendly. Loved the pool tables. Excellent Steak special. 👍
First floor has pool tables, shuffleboard, slots and karaoke. Decent daily specials on drinks. Fun but not crazy atmosphere on the first floor. Second floor is usually occupied by younger college students dancing.
This place is a joke. I had to come hear for a friends birthday. As we arrived, the gentleman running the door asked for a two dollar cover.I said, No problem. Whats the cover for?His reply, So you can get in.Seems a little pompise to charge two bucks to be able to go into your bar. I would understand if you offered music or some other accommodation.Once inside I quickly learned that the bar tender was inept and had a predisposition to serving over price drinks. There are so many good bars in Corvallis, this is not one.
Customer service was horrible today. The guy I spoke with was extremely rude and continued to hang up on me when I asked to speak with management. Definitely will not be ordering from here again, and I will be going in to talk to management.
Great dive bar, cool bartender, honest drinks. Didnt eat this time but food has been great in the past, plenty of it for the prices charged.
Cannot beat a 2 or 4 dollar breakfast that you dont have to cook or wash dishes afterwards. The regulars are regular, the night life is quiet while college is out. Gets busy on the weekends when college is in. This bar pretty much sums up old Corvallis night life.
Probably the best bar in the city! They have music and a dance floor upstairs that is super fun. Good drinks too.
Nice staff, good drinks and pub food. Have karaoke every night which is fun. Top is more of a club setting for dancing and bottom is more relaxed for hanging out.
Pool tables, shuffle board, slot machines, decent food & a nice local crowd. Welcoming place for a beer & fries, even if youre an out-of-towner like me. Check out the daily specials, from roasted pork loin to burgers, all at a ridiculously low price.
Pretty good. $6 burgers are okay, very few fries are included with the burger. Service was fast but they didnt tell us untill after that they were only taking cash.
This is definitely become a place to AVOID in Corvallis. Notice the numerous 1-star reviews on this service and other rating services with a common theme of having security fail to protect your safety, blaming the victim instead of the aggressor, or being outright mistreated by security. That was my experience after being away for a year due to total disability and a spinal fusion surgery (Im still medically fragile) and then being victimized by aggression on my return. I fled for help security, but since they allowed a rowdy belligerent crowd on their entrance patio area, Im not surprised they failed to protect me and made the situation worse. It is sad too, Ive gone there many times over the last 15 years and recall better days with awesome bartenders Carrie, Stephanie, Nicole, and others!
Bussin. Can get a bit crazy with some of the regulars/locals. If you have bad bathroom anxiety be prepared to fight your own inner demon as you watch as people see you must vulnerable on the unholy throne of mediocre plumbing. Also good food and drinks👍
Great Sunday morning breakfast/ bloody Mary stop.
I would give the place a zero if I could. They are awful at preparing the food. They do not mind serving you food with Doordash that has been sitting out. They also ignore you when you call to check on orders. Horrible service. Ruse employees. Food was not good enough for the trouble it takes to get it.
A lot of people have bad things to say about the Peacock. The truth is, the bartenders are amazing. I took my son for his 21st birthday and they were really good to him.
5$ cover on a wednesday, plus overpriced food. This wouldve been forgivable if they hadnt given me an Old Fashioned made with with soda water, no simple syrup, it was basically water, a half shot, ice, and a crushed cherry. Oh, and they left out the bitters.
OMG, ordered 2 burgers through Munchys from the Peacock. The burgers were wonderful! They were hefty with beef and the exact cheese we asked for, sides that rounded it all out nicely. They definitely do NOT skimp on their food. This was entirely satisfying and I will be ordering again when we have a burger craving!
Great drinks and great prices. Alena is a wondrous break from the normal servers a bar usually has. Extremely thoughtful and is always helping me discover as well as make new drinks for me.
Great place to get together. Pool is cheap $0.75 a game. They still have $1 PBR draft beer, but its only on Mondays now.
Witnessed a POC getting targeted and harassed for bumping into a sign by the bouncer, think the bouncer’s name was Marshal. If racism is what this bar promotes/allows, I ain’t about it.
It was inviting, the bartender was happy and helpful. The food was delicious, I will be going back there soon. I should have photographed the food ! I split the Eggs Benadict with my friend, so good.
Friendly little bar if you want to sneak away and grab a drink a few rowdy patrons but to be expected in downtown Friendly bartender with quick service I like that video poker machines were available and were not jammed full of people I did play and I did win close to $1370 So it was a fun time plus its right next to magenta restaurant which is hands down the best in Corvallis
3 and 3/4 generations of females, me, my daughter, my granddaughter, and a few weeks away from due date, great granddaughter had a fun lunch here today.
Fun venue. Upstairs is a lot more grimy and college-like. Downstairs is nice and has cheap billiards at $0.75 a game. Great for students.
Fun bar, staff is nice. Karaoke was fun. They have pool tables and cheap drinks. My friend swears by the steak.
Free pool tables open on Sunday, cheesy bacon fries were Tasty! Bathroom needs stocking two visits this weekend. Love band on the roof at 10 pm Friday night!
Great food and great price. Had the steak and it was done perfectly with great flavor. All food my group ordered received rave response. Great staff!
Ordered a burger thru Door Dash.Burger came completely seperated. All the toppings were spread out except the patty and cheese.Doesnt state mayo on their website but it comes with it.Fries were soggy and all mush.Think the only worse place in town to eat is Tommys 🤔
Love this place! If youre a blue collared worker that enjoys a icy cold PBR and game of pool, this is your place! If youre an OSU undergrad who enjoys IPA beers and cheap prices, this is your place! If youre a white collar professional and prefers the best dive bar in town over finw dining, then this IS YOUR PLACE! People from all walks of life frequent the peacock for their great daily specials ranging from $1 PBR to $5 burgers and dont forget their Karaoke nights! The DJ is professional, entertaining and dows a fabulous job. Pool tables and slot machines, full bar, full menu, booth seating, and spacious floor plan.
Seem to always meet good folks and lovers here, karaoke is always bumpin and vibin. Upstairs scene is as good as the dj id say bein a dj lol
Expensive cover for what you get. Not worth the cover most night. $5 bucks Friday and Saturday night when other bars only have a cover for Saturdays and when they have fun events happening.
The burgers and fries are delicious and made with love. Every burger I’ve had has been even better than the last. Thank you guys for caring about what goes into your food! 10/10
Its the cock... Never really changes but sometimes the furniture moves. If you want the occasional music, karaoke, and sweaty dancing venue... Well here it is. Everyone and all types end up here. From Greek Thursdays to local Summers, chances are youll end up here at one point or another if you go out and about in Corvallis. I think they have fries, but most of my consumption here has been from a glass.
This place is really hit and miss depending on the crowd. This is your classic dive bar and boasts two floors. It is a great place to get hammered sign your ass off and or get down for some floor dancing.
The bartender was nowhere to be found. I was there about 30 minutes before I gave up and left. The waitress couldnt make drinks or ring anyone up.
Great breakfast and great service! Rolled in with a big group on the day of the eclipse (when many places were closed) and were pleasantly surprised. Spicy bloody mary and good eats all around.
Great💯❤️ place. Food was delicious & portion size was awesome, bartender lady was so sweet & friendly & very pleasant, definitely going back
The Peacock is an iconic bar in Corvallis. I attended Dam Right, Drag Night there and had a wonderful time. They had a few different local beers on tap. If you are looking for a dive bar in a college town, the Peacock is a great place.
I was harassed by two drunk women here blocking my way to the bathroom because I was wearing a rainbow hat? but thats not the bars fault. Good place for karaoke and to people watch.
Not only are they problematic in their behavior, but they choose to select specific minorities to prey upon. If youre a queer person seeking to find a restroom, do not come here. You will be treated like a criminal and asked to leave the premises for questioning any methods they have. I was shoved and told I was out of line because I was helping move a gate for a friend to use the bathroom.
I love the staff and the food. The entertainment and the people who come to enjoy all the above. If youre ever in Corvallis and looking for a place to eat and drink, The Peacock is the place ya wanna be
Pretty good service. They forgave me and let me back in, the food and the drink specials are on point. Not a bad place, but a bit crowded on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday during the school year.
Been years since we been here and looks the same, service was great and prices very reasonable.
Walked out after paying cover. Loud, crowded, and staff cant keep up, or even really help most of the time. Best 3 bucks I have ever paid was to LEAVE this bar.
Amazazing happy hour deals! Super friendly and chill staff, great atmosphere downstairs for dinner and pool. Havent been upstairs to dance yet 🕺
Overall good, they were understaffed on new years day and were surprised they busy, even though they were one of the only places open that day. Kinda poor planning but overall a good dive bar.
Not my kind of place. Just saying. It’s a bar, and I find the booths and facilities super run down. People who like bars and such evidently really like the place, and I just wanted to rate it from my perspective since it came up under searching for restaurants (and to me, it should not).
The French dips are always amazing
$5 Burger Tuesday!!! I had the BBQ Bacon Ranch burger as recommended to me by awesome Bartender Cory. It was amazing! Thanks for the good time.
Great bar! Love their Tuesday burger deals!! This is a very up beat and fun bar with a dance club upstairs and karaoke downstairs.
Peacock is a Corvallis mainstay. Nikki does an awesome job and always makes us feel welcome! And you cant go wrong with the daily specials. 😁
Tried the pork sliders and and Buffalo wings. Food was great and the service was quick. They have pool tables, slot machines, and a jukebox.
Awesome breakfast was good the waiter was polite although my guest was weird AF she handled it pretty well I definitely recommend coming here again
The bartender was very impatient and kicked out several customers without any warning.
Bartender Elaina (sorry if I spelled it wrong!) is an absolute treasure. She kept refilling my water glass at the bar, and that saved me from an even WORSE hangover than I already had. Also, she makes a tasty Lemon Drop
I was only there a few minutes so I dont know much. It was dark and quite in there. They have four pool table. They have daily drink and food specials. The bartender was nice.
Decent bar, good food & drinks, BUT they need to have HEATERS in their outdoor seating area!!! Way too cold to sit outside w/o a Heat source!
Great spot overall. Good selection of beverages and B&G fare. DJ Jacob had a nice groove going last night.
If your hungover from having fun all night at the peacock you should definately consider eating there for breakfast the next morning. Busicuts & gravy with thick cut bacon, hell yeah.
Half hour to get beacon and eggs with burnt to a crisp beacon, could literally crumble it to blackened dust and it was on my plate. At later hours the bouncers are too aggressive and patrol surrounding blocks like some kind of thug squad. A fire happened in the kitchen and they are asking the public for money to fix it on Facebook, That is what insurance is for which throws more red flags.
The Peacock is my home away from home. Karaoke on Wednesday is super fun. Love the food. Great Breakfast! Love it 👍😍
Dont let the looks fool you.The food and drinks are very good!I had eggs benidict, and they were some of the best Ive had!!!
I saw the head of security confront, harass and kick out a black woman for bumping into a sign. Marshal was his name? Tall red beard.
Just drinks tonight, good prices on those. Tip your karaoke DJ!!
Best breakfast place and deal in town. $4 for 2-2-2 deal before 10am. Eggs-hash browns-sausages. Friendly staff and great service.
Great staff..bartender and bouncer were kind, professional and engaging.
Great place very friendly people I dont drink so i saw it from a sober perspective they do need to mop the top floor its a sticky mess but the bottom is clean and the bouncers were polite good times would recommend for a night out 👍👍
We wanted breakfast without waiting outside in line, so we came here. Fast service, good food. Very nice server too.
Keena was the best! We will be back soon. Thank you
Went with friends for drinks. Service was fast although not very pleasant. Would probably return but it wouldnt be my first pick for a girls night tbh
Its an alright bar but every time I hear the karaoke DJs stupid sound effects I want to force feed him a handful of gravel.
While beer-battering is generally the worst fate a potato can realize, it is elevated to the sublime here. The staff is also super nice.
Its a dive bar. The crowd is hit or miss at times. For the most part, the staff is great, particularly security. Jump in, grab a beer before 9pm, and bolt.
Im seeing a lot of bad reviews of this place .i used to work security here in late 90s it was the place to go offtrack betting and colledge based music upstairs rythum blues and rock downstairs music 3nights a week.i knew tommy personaly he was awesome that place made so much money we would count money for hours at times .tommy must be gone now he smoked like a chimminey that never went out but he was cool told it like it was and how he expected it to be.if anyone in charge there knew him .do what he did he was almost always on site up in his office or when it was slammed witch was alot he was slinging drinks behind the bar if some one needed there ass thrown out he was not above helping them to the door .i liked working there it was a second job but fun.run this like tommy did honor a mans sweat and tears and you will make money .
Fast, friendly service and a great atmosphere make the peacock a great place to pass the time whether youre by yourself or with someone. Its not super spendy and its clean. I definitely recommend this place.
A quintessential college town pub, complete with a gourgeous bar, pool tables, rustic staircase and the BEST cheesebugers in town.
Probably considered a Greasy Spoon by many, but the dinner steaks are amazing for the price!! Breakfast is a cut above others in town, and I highly reccomend Peacock!!!
Best karaoke in town
Cheap food, delicious drinks and friendly staff! Whats not to love? Plus they got three pool tables!
It is a great family place, with a good night bar to help you relax and have fun with pool and karaoke.
