One of my favorite venues that I have ever been too. Even in the back you are so close to the stage. The inside has such a cool design and the audience had such a good vibe. My only complaint is that the venue gets hot. Other than that it is an amazing venue. The staff was friendly and very helpful!
Main ballroom has 80% of the bottom floor covered with a low ceiling and collums for the balcony. Makes disability and sound poor. HoB cares more about upsetting you($500 a Ticket) to sit in thier VIP section. In the front 20% of the venue, sound and lighting are good and the staff is great all around they attract big names, but youre going to have a hard time actually seeing ir hearing them if youre not willing to get there an hour early and fight for a spot.
I saw chuu here on july 26th, love her so much!! she put on an amazing show and there were so many different types of people there all coming together to support her. it was very fun and sweet!pros of house of blues: very beautifully built and decorated! i was amazed as i havent been to a venue that looks like this before. the layout is quite interesting and almost sort of cozy. definitely more of a chill and laid back type of vibe!!!cons: long slow-moving lines, its hot inside and outside and can get wayyy crowded. also, i asked the bartender for a water and he sold me a can of water for $7.50 BOOOOOOOOOO. my advice: just get water from the bathroom tap!! lol
A little disappointed in this House of blues. Restaurant is still shut down from covid which is ridiculous. The show we saw for The Countess Cabaret was not a Cabaret in any way and was not good. If your a real house wives fan than this might be for you but if not dont waste your money. The only good thing that saved the night a little bit was the Foundation room bar and the music in there was good and the bar tenders were fabulous.
House of Blues is one of those places you love to see shows at but can be a Hassel. Ive seen a handful of shows here that have all been good, but the Hassel is parking, entering, steps to venue, and unavailable seats when the balcony is closed. I know youre supposed to dance, but old folks boogie only in their seats sometimes. Ive seen some great performances Umphreys McGee, Darkstar Orchestra, Bricks In the Wall, Zappa plays Zappa, and others. I usually pass on this place. Drinks are highly overpriced! Parking is nowhere to find except a walk away. Its the place I love to hate.
Really neat music venue/bar/restaurant!! Attended a concert here, it was general admission standing room, and it was surprisingly clean, spacious, and had classy decorations in the interior. Beautiful design inside and outside - the restaurant looked great & we hope to try it next time. Parked under the highway bridge (back of the building, on the corner) at the parking lot shared by the sci museum and nearby restaurants. Paid parking was only about $5 for 4 hours max which is a great deal for concert goers if you’re looking for a cheap, close by lot. Had no trouble exiting or entering for the event itself as traffic passed somewhat quickly. Thoroughly enjoyed our experience and we look forward to coming back!
I went last night for the Sawyer Hill show. Event staff was so friendly, organized, and in control. Bartenders were great. Made great drinks, albeit expensive. I was in a walking boot and had difficulty moving around. Staff was very helpful in getting me around. They even went as far as bringing me a chair to sit in for the standing room only show. I was prepared to stand the whole night. But that level of attention and accommodation without being asked was exceptional. Thank you HOB staff.
I wash just here to see ricky montgomery and it was the best show ever. The floor is a little crowded so if you dont like being packed tightly together i would suggest a balcony seat. the food is good the loaded fries are my favorite to share as a snack! and they have screens and tv’s so you can see even if you’re in the back by the bar. this is a great place for someone who likes to just go out and have a good time with some friends and listen to music :)
I was the wedding photographer for Brytani and Clay last weekend and while I’ve been to the venue before for a concert, it was my first time there for a wedding. Such a fun and unique venue to host your downtown Dallas wedding. Love all the artwork, rich colors and cool lighting. Can’t wait to work another one!
I was only there 10 minutes before i had to leave. Waited my whole life to see Extreme Live, was there but my daughter had a panic attack. So Daughters first ya know. 5 stars fir my first time there abd more. Maybe i can come back and try again soon. #paulsvalleydeadpool #pvdp approved! Most excellent place! SHINE ON!
They have great performers come through. The venue is spacious and looks nice inside and out. They seem a little ill organized however when it comes to getting patrons into the building. Always a long line to go through security check, and to get ticket scanned, then to get to your seats. Would be nice if they had more than 1 fan working outside, as everyone was melting in the heat.Additionally, I have yet to see a show start on time. Everything from opening act to headliner was running 30 minutes or more behind. After the last concert I attended on 6/29/24, the artist kept promoting his merchandise, and several of us went to buy it. The chaos was incredible. They only had 2 people manning the table, they only had 1 card reader, they claimed to be cashless and were encouraging patrons to download a cash app. Another lady eventually showed up and said anyone with cash could pay her.All said, i would say definitelyworth going yo the venue as easy to get to, but maybe need more staff, outdoor fans, and organization inside.
Every time I come here it’s great. The facility is clean and safe, security is helpful, bathrooms stocked. Drinks aren’t super pricey either. Not thrilled about the parking but that’s just the way it is! The valet service is fast and very friendly.
Staff was great. Professional and accommodating. Went to a punk show and saw the Descendents, Adolescents and Circle Jerks. Show was awesome and the venue was perfect for viewing. There is no bad seat in the place. Location is awesome and crowd control was excellent. Great place all around. Hoping more punk shows are there.
I last visited the HOB in 2012. At that time the Foundation Room was exclusive. Now its open to all. The food is still 5 Star $$$. Although ordering is reminiscent of a Waffle House in the bad part of town; They asked to hold my credit card before taking my order. The members areas are roped off and small compared to the spacious setting. As a result the members were cramped together. My visit was 4/18/24, during the Roy Wood Jr. Show so maybe its not usually as busy. Possibly they could expand the VIP seating during those times.I see no advantage to becoming a member other than the concert discounts and those are substantial. My dinner was wonderful, our table was great. Asking for the credit card first was ghetto. All in all, a mixed bag. I will be back, but with lowered expectations.
Have visited a few times (APR22, MAR23) and both visits have had outstanding concerts. Parking is a plus with multiple lots directly across the street and has never been an issue. Acoustics and lighting are excellent. When possible, we always book a VIP upgrade at the table section (lower level) as VIP balcony is not always available and dependent on ticket sales. VIP coordinator Jose is great to work with - equally attentive to customizing the experience and always available for a multitude of questions. That said, food/menu options in this section are very lackluster and servers have not been the best rarely coming back. Further, it should be noted that general logistics from entry lines to pre-show meet and greets are usually very unorganized so be prepared for additional wait times. Additionally, bathrooms are minimal with long lines typically so be prepared to wait on that end as well. At the end of the day, it’s a great place for shows but there is opportunity for improvement.
Ive been a few times to see my favorite artists. I am either in the stands or on the floor, and its been great every time.I never park at the venue. I either carpool or catch a ride (its just easier). Getting in is seamless. Yes, theres security but I only bring my essentials.Food and drink prices are decent. Oh, and the food is good. After that its all about the music.
I have been here many times for concerts and I always have a great time every time. I just wish there was more bathrooms! But the drinks are decent priced and the musicians are just right there in your face sometimes and it’s amazing!
First time going here, went to see Mr.Bungle live, and it was great! Some people dont like it for the balcony sitting, but I honestly could see clearly, and this is coming from someone who is near sighted and wears glasses. The venue was clean and organized, and the staff were helpful and approachable. Will come here again when I got the chance.
Good musical venue for smaller artists. Definitely a fire hazard when trying to exit - but folks arent too pushy and let others merge for an overall smooth exit. If you are claustrophobic or dont like tightly packed spaces, avoid this spot. Great art around the stage!
I have been attending shows here my entire life. Great size venue for a more intimate show. Everywhere is a good spot usually! Ive made the best memories here seeing so many artists. The drinks are so expensive though. You could get a 6 pack of beer for the price of 1 here, but Im guessing that is most venues these days. I recently saw First Aid Kit and the sound guy was having issues a lot, but I know it is more challenging with the PA to the side of the house versus the middle or back of the room like some other venues. Could have just been a rough night. It happens! The staff is super nice to everyone.& The bathrooms have pretty good toilet paper lol.
Best place and area to consider for a date night or celebrate with a show or concert.. Fantastic Venue, balcony seats are worth the money. The Foundation Room is a must to attend before and after shows. Lots of parking options in the area for easy access to walk to and from the area. Food options at The House of Blues and across the street.
Went to the Dope Lemon + Franklin Jonas concert here. Great show. Great sound mixing/acoustics. Great drinks (I love that they take both cash and card). Great atmosphere. (There’s always the annoying people who get there late and try to push in front of you, a person who got there early and waited in line to get as close to the front as possible, but that’s literally everywhere/any show...) I’d always heard positive things about The House of Blues but I’m a huge skeptic. And from start to finish, I was thoroughly impressed. It’s always nice to walk away impressed from a venue/show…
I loved the place, came to see one of my favorite bands, place is big enough and got tickets for the pit, experience was awesome i was so close to them. I liked the organization and loved that it wasnt hot. They took care of the environment and people circulation when getting in and out pretty well.
Great place to see a band. We parked at the parking lot on McKinney and laws and just walked under the overpass to get to the venue. If you want to use the train it’s an 8 min walk from victory station. Venue is well organized. Went with friends and two different bands were playing at the same time. Two lines were already formed and they had people tagging wrists for alcohol.
Recently attended an event here and had a pleasant experience. It is surrounded by lots of cheap parking, it is close to lots of restaurants and other activities downtown, and it was easy to find. We paid for standing room tickets, but the staff were so helpful and ended up letting people sit in the empty seats. The bathroom experience was not the best. A toilet was overflowing when I went in and a worker had started mopping but was trying to mop while people were walking everywhere. It was chaotic and messy.
I went to see TK Kirkland, and really enjoyed the show. Afterwards, I was waiting for my Uber which for some reason took a long time and Michael from security stayed out there with me until the driver showed up. Thank you Micharl!!
Half-alive great concertDont get in the Merch line unless you want some . But finally, I got to our seats lolVery safe and clean venue.Seating is a little tight and comfy, make friends with your new buddy. Will attend more concerts here !Some ask how to dress for these.NORMALLY be comfy dress for the weather.
Went to the Set It Off show with my daughter and had a much better time than expected. The VIP table was worth it for us olds when we were there over 5 hours. Our servers were excellent; although the prices are concert high, it was still worth it for the experience. We parked at a lot by the freeway and it was under 9 bones - not too shabby at all. I want to catch another gig here soon...
Been here 2 times and the first time the lines were under control, The second time was very disorganized. I believe they need more staff because they had 2 people trying to control a crowd of over 1000 people! Other than that, the area is great and every spot is a good view! Love coming here to my favorite artists perform.
OMG the sound system is incredible! The sub frequencies shake your eye balls. What a fantastic experience. Plenty of standing front stage space and the upper balcony was perfect. Bars and staff everywhere. Friendly staff and although the line was long, it moved fast.Harry Mack rocked it! More show than I was prepared for, such a fun time!
Well for what it’s worth, had a flight cancelled so called to ask if any chance of refunding the tickets a day ahead. A sold out show so they could have easily released tickets to someone else. But nope. Just kept the money. Greedy.
We just saw Echo and the Bunnymen. I was able to get to the front pretty easily. Its standing room only, unless you have a VIP membership. If youre a VIP, you can sit at a table in the roped off area near one of the two bars. The venue is small allowing for a close view of the stage. The sound was on point too. I would recommend a concert here anytime.
First time attending a concert at the House of Blues. I parked at Victory Park and walked 5 mins and it was just $6. The venue is small and intimate so I really liked that. I had general admission tickets but it may be worth trying to get seating. Drinks are overpriced but all in all I enjoyed myself.
Have not been to this venue in years, and it was a great experience to come back. I do not get to downtown Dallas as much as I use to, came here to see Gavin Degraw. Intimate and great venue to enjoy a show. They had some snacky food which was nice. Smoking area for us vapors. The only thing I thought was a down side was the drink prices. $20 for a premixed margarita! I only had one due to 1- price, 2- for $20 bucks it should be fresh made and taste better.
Excellent venue! One of my favorite.Sound: excellent. From the side of the stage, pit, back at the bars to the seats upstairs... sound is consistent.View: no matter where you are standing the angle of the floor makes the view great. Even the very sides of the front-stage are great without any pushing or shoving needed (if that’s what you prefer).Drinks: Plenty of bars on each side and the bartenders are attentive. They remember you and make sure you are taken care of quickly.Staff at the front is courteous and organized so you are in without a hassle while doing their job correctly.PARKING - be aware that they don’t have their own parking lot. Valet is cheap which may be tempting but the line to get your car after the show is extremely long. There is a public parking under the highway (2-3 minute walk) and cheap.
Very cool experience. We saw Stereolab!! This is such a beautiful venue. The atmosphere of House of Blues (mojo) is right on even after all these years in Dallas. The staff was very friendly. Although the line to get in was awkward and could be managed better. The lighting was just sad for the entire show. Luckily Stereolab outperformed and made it all better.
Its disappointing to hear that your experience at the House of Blues fell short of expectations. The continued closure of the restaurant due to COVID restrictions can indeed be frustrating, and its understandable that you were disappointed with the show not meeting your expectations. Your feedback about The Countess Cabaret not being a true cabaret and not being enjoyable is valuable for others considering attending. Hopefully, future visits to House of Blues will offer better experiences.
We went to a concert, but didnt try ordering food. The venue acoustics are pretty good. Band volume wasnt overly loud, which was surprising for a metal show. Drink prices were VERY high, as expected. I would attend another show here in the future, or even play here. All Hail The Yeti, Suicide Silence, and JINJER put on a helluva show! Seeing Santa Mosh was fun too! 😂😂😂
Great venue, but I give three stars today, due solely to the bartenders in the Foundation Room Wednesday night, 5/29/24. Ive seen turtles that move faster and have better eye contact.
Nice venue although somewhat weirdly laid out. Good acoustics and atmosphere. Drinks are priced insanely expensive
I have to give it 3 stars because I dont like unorganized venues. The concert started an hour and a half later, they had us standing in 100⁰ weather the entire time. There isnt a bad seat in the house and that was great. I loved how the seats were in a pattern where no one is directly in front of you. The chairs werent that comfortable and they were a tight fit. The concert (Leela James) was phenomenal and the sound system was great. I worried about security due to how unorganized everything was.
Nice venue but two vodka Red Bulls cost me $56! That’s a 10oz filet mignon meal at del frisco’s. Make sure you pre game if you are going to a show there. I made myself the same thing with shooters from the liquor store for $7 shoutout to George! You the GOAT!
Went to see Gavin Degraw and it was awesome. The upper level has auditorium seating like normal. It is a smaller venue, so if you want to stand be closer to the stage, if you want seating go to the balcony.
We attended the Static X show 3/10/23. Oh, House of Blues how I wanted to love you. Sadly you fell short. First I’d like to say this is a great place to catch a show. Small venue, I don’t think there’s a bad seat in the house. Friendly staff and their security staff is on point. They didn’t miss a beat helping people. However, I had meet & greet VIP tickets. Was in line 2 hours before the doors open. First one in the doors but that didn’t matter, while we were checking in at the VIP table all the general admission people were let into the venue. Goodbye good spot! After the show I also was the first in line for the meet & greet when another staff member came in and decided to cut the line in half and move everyone from the front to the back. Therefore, last again. By the time midnight rolled around the band still wasn’t out and we had to leave. Total bust. HOB you should be handing out numbers at the door for meet & greet. It’s the only way to make it fair to us loyal fans that pay the extra money. Needless to say we also didn’t get all our free merch either. Very disappointing.
It’s pretty ridiculous to have half of the venue taken up by 20 empty “VIP” tables. The entire middle section of the venue was empty space that could have been utilized. People had to stand behind pillars and at the back of the venue by the loud and too well lit bar. Really ruined what would have been a great show.
I have never had a bad experience here. The sound quality is amazing, the views are good if you get there at a good time to get a good spot, and the staff is always super nice. I love going to concerts here.
Went to a concert here. Metal detector to provide guest safety, as well as comprehensive rules to protect minors from drinking. Very friendly staff would love to go again.
Certainly an odd place for a book tour…1. After walking a few blocks from a good parking lot we were told at security that we can’t bring our books inside…you know…that we bought for the book tour…I mean seriously what Ocean’s 11 tomfoolery do you think I’m going to try an pull off by bringing the speakers book to get it signed? So we had to walk all the way back to our cars and put it up.2. The audio was the worst audio experience I’ve ever had in a professional setting. Like isn’t that the main job you have to get right for a typical MUSIC venue? The mics need to work consistently. The authors hands free mic glitched and or died within the first 30 seconds, and then for the next hour and a half he had to bang his microphone a MINIMUM of 20 times to test and see if it was on. The BACK UP Mic?! Lol. The moderators mic was a bit in and out. This year I’ve been in chapels running 90s projector transparency slides with better audio than this. Not really sure what happened, but…Thankfully the speaker and moderator were absolute champs, delights and funny as heck. This one star review doesn’t reflect my enjoyment of them, or the customer service coming into the venue.10/10 would ONLY go to this venue if person or band you’re going to see is a bucket list worthy guest, otherwise hope they go to multiple venues/cities in the area. Go to one of those instead.
Venue was in a nice location where I could access all day parking in a garage about 2/3 blocks away for $6/day. Security was helpful and kind and provided water to concert goers who had been waiting outside. Beautiful & spacious inside with full bars & snacks. The sound was great, better than the house of blues in Houston. 5 stars all around!
One of the best venues in Dallas. Always booking great bands and the balcony seating is great if it doesnt sell out too quick. Drinks are pricey like normal at music venues. Great atmosphere and sound! Also, their restaurant is pretty good or check out Buzz Brews across the street. Great food and beer selection at good prices.
This place is a lot of fun. Ive been going for years and seen many headliners along with less popular bands I love. Love how they keep the small venue feeling but rarely run out of tickets. Highly reccomend not getting seats but instead enjoying the show down in the standing room, way more energy and a better experience down there.
This most recent visit was our fourth show inside the Dallas HoB and each time seems to get better and better. For the first time, we had seats up in the balcony and they were great; there is a bar and bathrooms up there, too. The main restaurant currently being closed is a bummer, but there are lots of nearby options for pre- and post-show food and drinks. We are looking forward to the next show here (and the next, and the next ...).
I’ve been several times to HOB. Each time has been great! Love the restaurant, the food and employees. Everyone is friendly. Concert venue is cool too...I’ve never been a fan of standing room til I started coming to HOB. It’s fun! Can’t wait to go back!Great service! Good drinks and food. The cookie desert was delicious! The Halloween Bash was in the foundation room. Different areas had different DJ’s, Music. Fun night!
I went to see the Asia on Tour and it was a wonderful experience. The organization was great and the place was secure. Unfortunately, i did not get to taste the food but their beverages were good. My friends and i had a great time and we parked right behind the venue. Around the area is very bright even at midnight hours. Overall wonderful experience.
Ive been to five or six shows here this Summer alone and Im always impressed with the venue. The downstairs area has three large bar areas and a beer cart, so Ive never had to wait long to get a cocktail or beer. Cocktails are surprisingly affordable for a music venue, and the price of beer is about what youd expect. My double shots of Makers Mark currently cost $13, and a 24oz. domestic beer is $12.There is always plenty of security at the shows and the events feel safe and well organized. Metal detectors and wands are outside the entrance and there is an abundance of security inside the venue. The acoustics are fine, and the in house stage lights are fantastic. This is a great place to see concerts and is always a much better experience than the fair park amphitheater -- it is obviously much, much smaller. Sign up for their mailing list and you may even receive up to six free tickets to their less popular shows.
Beautiful venue, music is not too loud and the lightshow is amazing! The workers are super friendly and helpful, drinks are fantastic. Love this place!
House of Blues has hosted our Kids Who Rock Camp performances as well as the Talent Shows. It is such a delight to work with professional and nice people. Always very accommodating for our events. A perfect place for the kids to show their talents. We also had a Christmas Holiday show this past 2018. The guests that were not a part of the show enjoyed it as well. Our shows are OPEN TO THE PUBLIC!I cannot thank HOB enough for giving the kids a place to SHINE and what a better spot than the House of Blues?? Stay tuned & check the HOB calendar for more performances in 2019 from KIDS WHO ROCK.
I went to H.O.B. for the first time when they hosted #TrapKaraoke. I had so much fun. I love the the dual purpose the building serves — upstairs is a bar/restaurant with good food and the occasional live music, and downstairs is strictly a bar with a dance floor, stage, and balcony seating.I do wish they had more seats downstairs, but it’s fine. I’ll be going back in a few weeks for another concert — can’t wait!
As a small concert venue this place rocks. IT ONLY seats/stands about 2,500 crazy concert fans. If your more our age and have the money and the means I strongly suggest to pay the extra and sit in the VIP section. You get table side call service of good food and a wide selection of alcoholic beverages brought to you by friendly hostesses. If I was still in my 20s or 30s Id got for the very reasonably priced standing room only on the floor, but Im 50 so VIP for me.Sound is great, food is good, Beer is cold. Air Conditioning is great too. Sound is better then the autistics at Dos Equis Pavilion.
I came here to see Danity Kane on a Saturday evening. The wait at the valet was much, much longer than expected. It looked like only one person was working. Thankfully my experience changed immediately after entering the building. Everyone was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The bartenders know how to pour a drink. My experience was soured back at the valet. Once again a long wait.
Great venue for live music. Last show we saw there was packed but never had to wait in much of a line for drinks or snacks. Restrooms are kept cleaned and stocked with towels and soap. Staff is very friendly and security is present but chill.
Last Friday (04/07/2023), my friends and I attended Tink’s concert at the House of Blues in the concert hall downstairs. Towards the end of the concert, I decided to go to the bar on the right side near the stage. As I approached the left side of the bar, Kelsey and Ulisses, had their back towards the bar and started their closing procedures by wiping down bottles (pictured). And, no I didn’t repost the same picture on accident. I wanted to represent the amount of time I had to snap pictures of them as they carelessly continued to chat and ignore the bar. I waited so long I eventually had another guest attempt to get their attention on the other end of the bar. Which still didn’t break their chatter. Finally, Kelsey turned around and greeted the guest who got her attention. The guest then pointed towards me informing her I was trying to get her attention. Kelsey walked over irritated asking what did I need? Although I was annoyed, I politely responded I just wanted a club soda. She gave me the drinks, I left no tip and a note that stated, “Terrible service. As a former bartender in NYC you all should be mindful of guest just needing water to hydrate.” Inspired by one, their lack of attention at the bar, and two, multiple guest fainting during the show (which they were quicker escorting me out then making sure the medical team was around helping a guest who fainted near us). After leaving the bar, Kelsey held up my tab and loudly yelled across the venue, “THANK YOU FOR NOT LEAVING A TIP!”Embarrassed as everyone was looking at me on the right side of the concert hall, I responded by cussing her out and informing her if she had better service maybe she would have a tip (not the best response, but I was also provoked by someone who should be taking care of guest). And if you’re that concerned about tips, find another job if you’re not meeting your financial needs. After cussing her out, multiple guest around me stated Kelsey was rude all night. Within 3 minutes, Kelsey, was shining a bright flashlight in my face saying yeah, him! Glaviano, I believe one of the managers, walked over to ask what happened and was kind enough to listen as well as showed gestures of understanding why I responded the way I did. Meanwhile, Manager, Marc Torres, walked to the back of the bar with Kelsey, came back out and stated, “Oh no, get him out of here!” Not caring to hear my side of the story. My friends and I were escorted by the police and 3 managers as if we just destroyed the place. As we got to the top of the stairs, I explained the situation so they all could hear. Marc was careless, nonchalant, lit a cigarette in our face and stated since you cussed her out you have to leave. Opposed to the false and nasty e-mail he sent my friend saying I threatened Glaviano, I did not threaten anyone. I told Marc that karma would come back on him for treating guest the way he did and taking no accountability on how his staff treated me. As a frequent concert goer and someone connected in the music industry, I will never attend a show at the House of Blues. And I will be sure to sway artist from booking here. There are plenty of nicer venues with staff who are attentive and treat their guest as if they are paying customers.
I visited the foundation room upstairs. It was a very nice setting, lounge like. I will definitely visit again.
Liked the venue but not good for disabled people. They were confused as yo wear the disabled section was. Then they had us sit on high barstool type chairs. Difficult to get up and down. Then the great amount of walking from the gate to the seating. They need to be a bit more sympathetic to disabled people using the venue.
Good music venue. They should add clarity to their entrance procedures. I bought 2 Speed Passes for 20 bucks each for faster entry. I arrived 30 minutes before the doors opened. There was no signage or security to let anyone know about anything. We waited in line just like everyone else that didnt pay the extra 20 bucks.
I visited House of Blues on December 6 to see Amine so my review reflects less on the restaurant and more on the venue policies.I bought a General Admission ticket and a HOB priority entrance that comes with a drink and free food item for an additional $25. I thought that meant I could order a food item from the restaurant (which is upstairs, then venue is downstairs at the basement) but that is not the case. When you get downstairs (more on that) you will see the bar and an option of 5 food items to order from and you will have to stand by the bar to get your food when its ready.. Now if you want to order alcohol, you will have to go back upstairs to speak with security in a blue shirt to get an over 21 wristband. This should have been taken care of when went to the window to pick up my ticket. Anyway, getting drinks, food, and the over 21 band, I lost out the critical moments on getting a great spot.Priority entrance: the person at the window did not explain what would happen accurately.Heres what happened: Gates opened at 7pm and the show starts at 8pm. Security came around 6:30pm to let in Priority/VIP, then 7pm the rest of the line came in.Word of advice: if you want to get a good spot close to the stage, then either buy the priority ticket and forget about getting food or come 2 hours earlyI did go to the bar at the restaurant and the bartender there can make a mean Hawaiian cocktail.
Enjoyed the show. The staff treated us great. There were cross signals from one team member to another as we traversed from the bar to the venue. Once we were seated, all was well. The Pink Floyd Laser Show was surprisingly good. I think youre better off parking a few blocks away for quicker egress. A hockey game let out at the same time as our show. It was quite a mess.
I visited The House Of Blues the other night. Three words came sum up my experience. Small intimate venue. I really have nothing negative to say. For the most part it was clean, the staff was polite and over all, it was a very pleasurable experience. The artist had the bass turned up just a tad to high, however again it was a good and memorable experience.
First and foremost, I want to say the staff was great and attentive. This whole experience was a lesson and I know not to get the VIP upgrade again. There were problems with the VIP upgrade.1. The entry: I got a call on the phone telling me to go to the foundation room and then we would be escorted to out tables but that wasn’t correct. We just had to go through regular entry on the the VIP side.2. I thought the tables were going to be set up directly in front of the stage and then general admission behind us but it was in reverse. I was so far away from the stage and couldn’t get a good video for anything.3. The table was small and not as big as the ones shown on the website.4. The waitress was great but was handling too many tables besides ours. We had to wait 30-40 minutes for chicken tenders and fries. The tenders are also a different price but I didn’t see that until I was charged. The tab wasn’t itemized either so I’m not sure how much each drink I got cost. A drink and water came to $19? Chile I don’t know..The overall experience was a no for me and I could’ve spent $250 getting a VIP meet and greet ticket and met Lucky Daye but I know better for next time.
The mask mandate inside was not followed or enforced for any concerned with that. Good selection of food and drinks although alcohol was extremely expensive, more so than what Im used to even in other big cities. Tall Boy beers were about $12. Overall a good venue though, kind staff, good line management, quick entry and prompt service for food and bev.
Of the many events I have attended here, I have yet to be disappointed. The sound is great and the size can accommodate a good size crowd and still provide an intimate and exclusive feel. I have not tried the food but hear good things. The venue has a real mellow vide with lots of colored lighting effects for your senses. I enjoy this venue for its friendly staff and well maintained amenities. Valet is recommend due to a light walk for parking otherwise. I would recommend attending or hosting an event at this venue for its unique upbeat vibes.
Nice spot parking isnt bad....but I was hot in there the the crowd grew so did the temp to the point where we were sweating and not even moving
First time going to a concert there. The place was great. We did have 2 Vodka Red Bulls that cost $52 though.
Its a venue so drinks were pricey, I chose not to order. Asceticism was very musical museum feeling like stepping into the past a few decades yet it felt well kept 👌. Staff that I interacted with were amazing and felt like good people, including the manager who I spoke with for a while. Impressive that they have so many shows going on and keeping it all straight. I was able to easily step out to smoke and return to the concert.
Demola The Violinist gave an awesome performance . The staff is the best coordinated...geared toward Real Customer Service...
Just the right size for a music venue. Enough space in the back to catch your breath, but intimate enough that you can really feel the live band.
This review is only for the concert venue, Ive never eaten at the restaurant. Ive seen shows at both the smaller Cambridge room upstairs and the larger room downstairs. HoB is one of my go-to spots for live shows. Its small but a good show. It doesnt disappoint. And good bands come through at reasonable prices. The bars are inside the venue space, so you dont have to leave and miss the show to order drinks. Drinks can get pricey if youre drinking too shelf. One negative is the only water they serve is that stupid Liquid Death water in a can, which I absolutely hate.
Nice venue but drinks are high24 oz. Modelo $1419 oz. Liquid Death $7
With GPS running, its easy to get to this venue but if you are valet parking I suggest using the address in ParkWhiz (app). This address will pull you right up to valet instead of having you drive in circles around HoBs. The venue itself is really interesting, set up with food, merchandise and bars. Really good acoustics in an intimate setting.
Enjoyed the Gypsy Kings on 02/25/24! Management went out of their way to acommodate my diability request and put me in a seat instead of standing for 2 hours. The seats are a bit small and there is no parking for the venue except for paid parking in the back of the venue where someone with a disability would have to travel a city block to the door. Everyone was very nice. Paid $40.00 for valet parking. I will go back but take rideshare.
Box office staff needs improvement. We were VIP for the Mahalia concert and had a problem entering the event. Kudos to LaRonn Harris of Atlantic Records for solving the problem. He was a great host and we enjoyed ourselves
Great show space, piss poor restaurant service.1hr 10 minutes to get food for 2 people - both ordered dinner salads. Meat cold - Food room temperature. Not enough valet staff for exiting.PS - Look at the response from the owner as lack-luster. So go for the show, you will have a great time. Beautiful areas for pics.DONT EVEN STEP INTO THAT RESTAURANTon a show night. Owners response is the perfect rep of the restaurant service. No depth to it. Reads like a copy & paste script.
I have finally made it to this place after hearing about it for months. I have to say that it did not disappoint,Great drinks, food and remarkable customer service. The shows are more intimate so you never have to worry if you get lost in the crowd. I definitely plan to visit again, the first impression was memorable!
The House of Blues was a fantastic venue! The staff was friendly, the venue was clean, the crowd was rocking, and the bar was stocked!Notes: Getting a lyft/uber at the end of the show was nearly impossible until some traffic died down, and if it is raining either leave your umbrella behind or be prepared for them to stow it for you until the end of the show.
This was the most amazing venue in DFW for our wedding! My husband and I toured so many venues, and nothing stood out like HOB. Once we chose them, Katie and Tigi were absolutely amazing in making our dream day come true. They were so kind and patient, and they were fully committed to making our event the most magical night ever! There was so little work or effort on our part – HOB was our venue, bar, caterer, service staff, AND security. For a GREAT price. Everyone is STILL talking about how cool and funky our wedding was, saying it was the best they’ve been to! The food and drinks were SO GOOD, and I have ZERO complaints about the product or service we received. 10000000% would choose them again, and would recommend them to any one!
The staff was so polite! The guards were smiling and very nice as well. The show was so great
Staff is on a power trip and needs to be retrained by management on how to deal with situations. My family and I had nothing to do with a situation happening nearby and they decided we needed to get kicked out and when I tried taking the “woman’s” hands off my arms I was tackled to the ground and when my family tried helping me back up they pulled their hands off of mine and said they were not allowed to help me. They also claimed they were going to “arrest” my partner, but then proceeded to take no action of the sort other than threatening and forcing his hands behind his back for a minute or so before backing off and letting go. We paid good money to be at the show and to be thrown out prematurely for something that had nothing to do with us is actually mind boggling. Hoping a refund is in order because we had a group of 10 that had to leave 3 songs into the main act on top up physical abuse by staff. And from speaking to other recent guests apparently this is not the first time staff has been this way with their guests before getting their story straight. Seems like they want to pick on whoever they can because they can without being questioned.
Edit: Special Shout-out to David and the entire Staff at the Foundation Room!!! On behalf of Sevendust and Tetrarch Thank you for making our night so special....Best venue in all of DFW!!! From the second I got here I was treated like royalty, from Raul the valet guy to Jennifer the security guard and Zeb who held my key for me before valet was even open to the Manager who was filling in at the Stage for missing security staff that gave me a water when I was dehydrated to Breane the bartender who remembered I wanted a sugar free redbull every time I came up. You can tell that every single one of them absolutely loves their job and it speaks volumes to the leadership/management they have...kudos!!!! I cant wait for my next show here!!!! THANK YOU!!!!
Came here to see Phil Rosenthal and had such a lovely time! There were some issues with the mic intermittently through the show, but microphones were on standby and technical issues were quickly sorted out. The staff were warm, patient, and helpful. Really impressed by their queue and overflow management. Drinks are crazy expensive ($13+), but that came as no shock given the venue. Public lot parking about a block away for $0.75-$1.25/hour.
There was an incident with their security staff that they contracted out for the event I went to on 10.6 to see hobo Johnson, but aside from that, this is my favorite venue in the US. Hands down the best stages, unique architecture and amazing staff. This venue does not disappoint. Don is the manager there and he’s also amazing. He took care of my issue promptly and made it right. We will be back.
Service is outstanding, employees are awesome and Mr. Preston was very kind to us. I highly recommend this place. Kudos to all!!!
Great show, good sound. The only issue I have here is getting screwed so hard on drinks. I understand ya gotta make money but come on....
I recently attended the Judah & The Lion concert at House of Blues...They were great! The crowd was fun, friendly/very helpful staff, great service! Staff member George Armstrong helped us find our seats, got us a cocktail waitress so we could order drinks, answered our questions about venue, showtimes, food menu, etc. Thanks! The venue was really clean, great sound/lighting! Had an amazing time!
Way over priced!A single beer and a single rum and coke cost $37 . we wont be going to see any more shows here. can you be anymore greedy? I could buy a whole bottle for that.
Removing my 5 star rating. Im very upset that I was asked to leave because I had my concealed weapon. The only signage they have displayed is No unlicensed weapons allowed...... I was then told unless I was a cop I cant have my weapon on me. There are many professionals that are issued weapons and not all cops. Correct your signage to properly display the policies you want, Ive used this location for many family dinners and buisness meetings, not anymore though Ill bring my clients and my buisness elsewhere from now on.
Update 1/9/19 - So after posting my original review below, the management of HOB responded to my review and asked that I send my contact information so they can reach out to me. Initially I thought that was nice of them to want to discuss some of the issues we faced on our visit. I promptly sent them my contact info ( twice) but I am yet to hear back from them. Now I’m thinking it was just something they did to appear like they care.So disappointed!!!Original reviewWife and I went to experience some live music and dinning on a Tuesday night. The music was great and definitely set the atmosphere, Ladarius played a wide variety of songs. The food and drinks however were a different story. First off we ordered a drink called “Royal Orleans” which was supposed to be crown royal apple, ginger, lime and mint. It tasted more like ginger ale with a splash of lime and mint. I tasted not crown royal in my drink. So we sent it back and got beer instead. The bar tender was defiantly not trying to have my wife and I turn up on a Tuesday! For the food we ordered the Smokehouse special with brisket and chicken. The flavor was ok but the brisket was a bit on the dry side and the portions of beans and slaw were quite small. And to add insult to injury the next morning my wife and I both had upset stomachs.
We had an amazing time!! The place has perfect acoustics and the service is great. Its a small venue but can pack enough crowd to have a party.
DO NOT BUY ANY UPGRADES!! Their price gouging and deceptive business practices should honestly be reviewed by the BBB.1) they purposefully hold up the line so that you purchase their “fast lane pass”2) they charge $150 for half a table in their VIP section which means you have to share a small bar table with two random strangers and everyone is PACKED together.3) when you ask for water they say “our water is in a can, is that ok?” Without mentioning they CHARGE YOU FOR IT. Isn’t water supposed to be free? This is honestly the main reason I’m writing this review - this really irritated me. Just be honest and say “we have mountain water in a can for $5 if you would prefer that to tap.” We probably would have said yes and this review would not be happening. And before anyone says “you should have researched more or known better” or whatever, I say we need to stop accepting this as the norm. Businesses like this that squeeze every penny from the consumer should be called out and shamed for what they’re doing.
Great venue. No in and out. Got there early and couldn’t leave and come back.
Great venue to see a concert with plenty of bars and restrooms. Food not great, parking can be an issue as there’s not much of it under the overpass (you’ll need the ParkMobile app). If possible, take the train to Victory Park, get dinner then walk to House of Blues. On location is also The Foundation Room which is a bar/club upstairs, often an older crowd…but probably because of the concerts I attend!
If you are someone who enjoys a good atmosphere and nice surroundings you should definitely partake in whatever artist fancies your interests. If you are someone who gets bothered by others vaping or smoking in a “house of blues” I cannot recommend. Enjoy your time and live well prosperous and healthy as some may complain at a HOUSE OF BLUES.
Loved this venue!! Food was surprisingly better than I thought. Also, Shout out to the valet team! Chatted with them last night. Supper nice and professional. I feel like you dont see good customer service. So thank you Raul and I believe Juan?
1st time going. Saw Corey Taylor with my fiance and some friends. Staff was nice, music was loud, bathroom was clean. Drinks were a bit more expensive than I cared about. But I get it. The atmosphere was nice. It was cool enough in the building. Parking was simple. Will definitely go back.
Iconic Dallas venue in west end. Always got great bands. Do yourself a solid and upgrade to VIP.
