I had such a great experience at Jiva. The girls are so nice and welcoming and they offer drinks and the atmosphere there is very welcoming! They do so much there and I recommend going to Jiva. Allison J did an amazing job on my hair and did it exactly like I wanted. For all of your hair needs go see her!!

I had a wonderful experience with Allison! I have very thick hair that was permed about 6 months ago (by a different salon). Unfortunately, the perm went wrong and not only damaged my hair, but only permed half my of head. Due to this, I wanted to get my hair repaired and feel beautiful. Allison from Jiva did a botanical hair repair treatment and finished the appointment with some curls so that all of my hair looked even. I loved it! She was very knowledge and is very personable. She listened to my hair history and seemed to really care about repairing my hair damage. I will be booking with her again!

Had my first visit with Mikaela today and was so happy when I left the salon! Entire experience was one of the best I’ve had at a salon. The atmosphere was very inviting and the calming shampoo room was amazing! Can’t wait to return!

I, unfortunately, did not have a good experience here. I was going from all one length to layers so I chose the highest level of stylist at what I thought was one of the best salons in the area. I will admit I got the appointment time wrong so instead of being what I thought was 15 minutes early, I was 15 minutes late. The hairdresser decided she would keep my appointment. She never smiled, and hardly spoke. I showed her 5 pictures of what I wanted. She did a dry cut which is okay but not preferred. She never asked me. Just started literally whacking. When the cut was done, she asked if I wanted a shampoo. What? After the cut? What would be the purpose. Shed already styled it with a brush and blow dryer on dry hair. It was such a hostile environment that at this point I just wanted out. The end result did not look like the pictures. Im going to have to go somewhere else and have it fixed. If she didnt want to keep the appointment and was mad because I was late, she should have cancelled.After I left this review she said they wanted to make it right. She called me and left a message. I called back, left her a message to call me and she never called back. Her message looked good on here but Jiva Salon owner never followed through. From seeing other peoples negative reviews, I dont think they ever intended to. I do not recommend this Salon.

Mikaela is amazing. She always listens and makes suggestions for what is best for my hair. This is my third appointment with her and she knocked it out of the park!

My stylist Sherri is the best! She does a great job turning my inspo pics into reality, all while making sure my hair stays healthy in the process!

Amanda is so talented! I love how she listens to what you want, patiently answers questions, but then candidly offers her opinion based on you- your hair, your skin tone, your features. Shes very knowledgable, very skilled, and very reliable. If you dont look better and feel more confident in how to care for and style your hair after sitting in her chair, you arent paying attention. We may not have the right words to explain what we want but Amanda is great at translating. And no one will try harder to give you not only what you want- but more importantly what you need- to look and feel your best. Oh- and great house cabernet!

This was my first body polish and Dezzi made it such a comfortable and welcoming experience! She even gave me some advice to start a career in makeup! Love her🥰

I chopped and donated my hair today and got an undercut. The bob is cute and looks great, super happy with it. However, I asked for an undercut that was level with the top of my ears and straight across. The shave I got was much higher than my ears and was not cut in a very straight line. I didn’t realize until I got home and put my hair up. I didn’t show her a reference photo but I didn’t think I needed to, I thought my directions were pretty straightforward. I’m going to wait for it to grow out and hopefully get it shaved better somewhere else.

I do not live in the area, but when I visit family, a stop at Jiva is always on my list! I have had several services at Jiva - massage, facial, brow lamination/tint. Everything has been fantastic. I highly recommend Jiva!

Absolutely humiliating experience. Booked a service online and when I got there was told she couldn’t do what I requested and didn’t have time to color my hair any other way. I said okay well we can just cut it. She cut my dry frizzy hair, didn’t style it so I walked out feeling embarrassed and ugly with hair half done. Never again!

As a new customer looking forward to a service I was warned from a couple others that cancellations happened to them often and to be cautious after sharing I booked a facial service. Due to working an unusual schedule I moved my schedule to be able to be off for the evening to have a little time to relax. I was called and told that my appointment was cancelled with an hour and 45 minute notice. I completely understand things happen but was so disappointed that I shared the same experience I had heard from other sources. Even trying to explain to whomever I spoke with, I didn’t even really get an apology. I expected maybe a follow up the following day and still nothing. I was even more disappointed that they had a cancellation policy posted for customers but my time wasn’t taken into consideration. So disappointing.

Made the mistake of booking an appointment for a pedicure. the staff was nice. my technician was incredibly nice & lovely. However, I was grossly disappointed with the entire experience. I paid $75 for an Aveda pedicure at an Aveda salon. What I got was nothing even close. I got a bad mall pedicure, in comparison. I had to ask if there was somewhere I could wait, when I first checked in—I’ve not been in before & the staff were walking by me as I’m standing there, uncomfortably, in the front of their store. The chair was cute, but unsteady & uncomfortable. My toes were cleaned up & made cute, but my heels are still cracked and dry, because no attention was given. The scrub was really painful and unpleasant and the bottom center of my foot was scrubbed-instead of the heel, which made the pain worse. There was an incredibly brief massage-less than two minutes. And, my skin nearly burnt off from the overly hot towels that was used on my legs, after my skin had literally been scrubbed off. The polish on my toes is now smeared & messed up bc I didn’t have pedi shoes w me, & the salon did not offer or provide them-when my tech said that my toes were dry, I waited an extra 5-mins and left. My toes were in fact, NOT dry, as I later discovered. Two stars for being nice. Minus three stars for cut rate service at Aveda prices.

As someone who has never had a facial before, I did my research and due to the great reviews, I decided on Jiva Salon Spa to pamper myself while in a mental health slump. I’ve walked by Jiva frequently for several years and have always heard great things - now I know they are true! I chose to receive a 60 minute facial from Emily and she is talented. Not only does your skin reap the benefits, but there is some massage and aromatherapy involved as well. I never wanted it to end! A clean, relaxing, and friendly environment makes for a one of a kind experience at Jiva. I can’t wait to come back and try the other services offered!

Highly recommend Amanda !! Love coming to Jiva for my hair color and receive 5 star treatment with perks. Able to sit by the fireplace and sip on a beverage while waiting for my hair to process. Receive a hand massage and scalp massage while getting your hair washed!! I drive from Cedar Rapids even after I moved away.

I recoeved a massage for Christmas from my husband and daughters. It was beyond amazing! Ive only had a couple massages in my life and this was the best one yet! I havent felt this great in a long time and still feel great 24 hours later. She worked areas over and over without hesitation and the experience in the room was calm, welcoming, and relaxing. Thank you! I will be back!

I’ve gotten my hair done with Jiva once and the service was great, however - I have not been back due to being rescheduled 2-3 times every service I book with Jiva. Despite their 24 hour notice cancellation policy with customers, every reschedule has happened same day and even within the same hour.The atmosphere is wonderful, their products are great, and the staff are incredibly welcoming but if you’re looking for a reliable hair appointment, I would not recommend Jiva.

Emily always does a fabulous job with the lash lift & tint. Highly recommend her! Dani is very professional & always listens to my wants & needs when it comes to my hair cut & color. Would definitely recommend going to her!

I booked Jiva for my wedding day needs for 9 people. The girls had us all done and out of there in 2 hours and 45 minutes! We all got hair and makeup done! Sarah did such an amazing job making my hair visions come true. Emily hands down did the best makeup I’ve ever had done. All of the staff was just truly amazing. If you’re looking for a one stop shop for your wedding day I’d highly recommend!! Oh and they also had mimosas for us!! ❤️ Thank you!

I only started going to Jiva this past year because I had a gift card, but I’ll never go anywhere else now! It is such a relaxing experience every time I go. The staff is so friendly and my hairstylist (Celeste!) is amazing! The Aveda products are also really nice!

The quiet darkened room with the fireplace and candles is the best!! Time to decompress before getting my massage. And time to relax while I get ready to go back into the real world. I always feel wonderful after getting my massage at Jiva. I have had several different therapists and each is unique with their technique but they are all great. There was a mix-up with an on-line appointment I made and the manager was very caring and made sure I was seen the next day and handled a credit card issue quickly. I received two phone calls at home to assure me the credit card was being taken care of.

I love Emily at Jiva. She is very professional but keeps the client feeling like a good friend. We always chat and laugh through my entire appointment. I can not recommend her services esthetician services highly enough!

I love Aveda. It’s the only place I go. Jiva has it all. The spa is quiet and warm. The salon is bright and clean. The team here are also so nice and accommodating. I started seeing Courtney last year and won’t be going to anyone else. She took the time to listen to what I wanted and followed through.

The staff went above and beyond to ensure my daughter had a great experience on her 13th birthday. Sherri, Emily and Skylar all were so sweet, accommodating and have earned my repeat business, as it went so well my daughter now cant wait to return. I would and will highly recommend Jiva to anyone.

Got my hair done here for a wedding, and when I left it looked amazing!! My stylist was so nice & personable, I was so happy with the experience. By the time I got to the venue..... my curls were completely gone and my hair was straight. We had to curl it again..... and for some reason, it stayed that time. My bill was just shy of $90, I would say it’s definitely not worth that.

Everything about this place makes you feel like youre being luxuriously pampered, just not at price youd expect. Youre greeted upon entering by the hostesses, offered a beverage, and have the opportunity to look around. The only real ding I have is there isnt anywhere to sit up front while waiting for your appointment.I went in for a haircut and was greeted by the very effervescent Sara. I wont bore you with the details other than we discussed what to do with my hair. To my surprise (its been a few years since Ive been here) I was offered a neck massage. While it wasnt going to work out the tension in my neck, it was a nice addition. The wash room was dimly lit, cool, and had some soft music. Good space to relax for a moment and get your hair washed.Fast forward through most of the cut, Sara took into account my propensity to not actually style my hair and gave me a cut that would work well with my low effort mantra. Offered me styling tips at the end and suggested some products, but wasnt pushy about it.All in all, I like the cut, Sara was great (easy to talk with), and I couldnt beat the price for the amount of service I received. I live out of state and for the amount of services I received today, I would easily have paid 3 times as much. I definitely recommend Jiva and Ill stop in for a cut next time Im in town.

The products are wonderful, there is no question. The ambiance is also very nice. The service seems to have improved - at least now you get a friendly greeting when you walk in, which wasnt always the case. However, they are always booked way in advance and it is just a real headache to try to schedule any more than a single service together. The last time around, I tried to schedule a massage and facial in one setting, but they could only schedule them separately for the next three months or so. They said theyd put me on the waiting list. And then, I never heard from them again!!!! Not even to re-schedule at the original times. I was perplexed about this lack of customer service. I have been a member of their rewards program and gone there for many years, but it doesnt feel like that my loyalty is even appreciated. I also had an issue with not having received a coupon I always get on my birthday, and rather than issuing me a replacement - or some other birthday discount/service - I was told to check with my neighbor if it got lost in the mail. Say what?

Jiva is a wonderful salon. Very clean and cognizent of the COVID pandemic and takes precautions to keep staff and clients safe. Ive always had excellent results with the stylists and absolutely love it there. One other nice thing, they dont push their products. So its a very stress free and pleasant experience. Love the head massage during shampoo!

Giving this a 1, just because the seating area for the message area was relaxing. However, I came early and expected to wait for my time being early. Checked in, asked to be shown where to go, as I hadnt been there in some time. Pleasant gal showed me and said that she would the the individual know. Appointment was at 1615, I sat in the waiting area for 45 min. Did not see anyone. I finally, got up and told the front desk, I have to leave, maybe reschedule. I got asked did you check in? A simple oh, I guess Im sorry. Definitely, disappointed as I was looking forward to this.I know Jiva is a busy entity and will not lose any business, by just me.

I recently had a my hair cut and colored at the newly renovated salon. Everything about the experience was first-class (especially the new shampoo room!). I recently had my first child and my stylist, Jo, ensured the night out was a treat for this first time mom. If youre looking for great service and a good cut, color and blow-out, I would recommend making this your go-to salon in the Cedar Valley.

I went in with fairly blonde hair and came out with brown hair. I went in and requested that my hair be highlighted and be more bright, and yet somehow my hair was darker than when I went it. I am highly disappointed in my stylist, Amy, and would highly recommend choosing ANYWHERE else in the Cedar Valley to get your hair done. I went back in to have it fixed, and the stylist said that it was the way my hair was parted, HA. The parting of your hair does not account for the overall color and tone of your hair, and she would only fix it if she charged me more money to add more foils in, after she had already placed at least 25 foils in my hair originally.

They always do exactly what I want done with my hair (cuts and balayage) and I have had experience with 3 of their stylists. The most recent was Tessa and she was so easy going and a joy to chat with. She also NAILED my balayage. They turn your visit into a relaxing almost spa experience with the massages and drink options. I would go back here anytime for any of my hair needs! I love Jiva!

Everyone was very friendly. This was my first facial at Jiva (and my 2nd facial ever). Emily was so comforting and the facial was pure bliss! The Aveda products she used on my smelled wonderful. I walked around the rest of the day with no makeup - I felt beautiful!

I went to get my hair cut a week ago, I got someone that was “newer” to the team, but was impressed with how beautiful and professional the salon looked and assumed she was well trained in her field. The hair cut I asked for is not what I got, they ruined my hair. Used a razor the ENTIRE cut and I left with the worst cut I have ever received or seen. Didn’t even finish blow drying my hair, didn’t style it, so I had no clue how bad it truly was until I got home. I went in with long hair and left looking like a scissor happy two year olds Barbie doll. I brought reference photos- and a stylist that worked there had the hair cut I wanted. If the stylist didn’t know how to go about cutting my hair she should have asked someone for guidance. Now I am stuck feeling insecure for the next 6-12 months while this grows out. I would’ve wrote this sooner, but my grandmother passed away the next day and I had to find a place that would attempt to fix my hair for the services.

I get waxed here regularly by Sam who is the best. She’s fast and friendly which helps minimize the expected pain of getting waxed.I get my hair done my Ashley and she’s the sweetest. She listens to what I want and makes it happen. What has taken 4 hours in the past she can get done in 1.5 to 2 hours.

I love love jiva salon. Their massage spa area is like my happy place roaring fire calm music. Always a great massage. Also super amazing hair stylists they help you if youre not quite sure what to do. Always lasts a long time I have never had a bad experience there in 8 years

It was frustrating that I waited nearly an hour past my scheduled appointment time without any offer of a discount or anything. I wasnt upset at first when I was told there would be a twenty minute delay but when it became an hour my attitude changed. Had I known it was going to be that long I would have rescheduled. Customers time and work schedules should be respected. I really felt there should have been some type of compensation or at least a sincere apology!

I had a great experience the first time I came! Excellent customer service and my new blonde locks looked AWESOME. Second time? Not so much. They told me they only had enough time to redye part of my hair, which I didnt understand. So we decided to reschedule the appointment to allow for more time to do all of my hair. However, when I came to the rescheduled appointment, they told me I wasnt scheduled in their calendar at all. Frustrated now that Ive been here twice in a row without receiving service.TLDR: Good hair styling and dying skills! Awful organization and scheduling.

Last fall I went in for a haircut, expecting a relaxing experience. I loved the atmosphere. While I was getting my hair washed, the hair stylist asked if I would like my eyebrows waxed. I said no, and she responded, Well, can I at least trim them?? I obliged since she seemed to want to so badly.Later while I was getting my hair cut she chastised me multiple times for using a certain brand of shampoo, and told me she was here to educate me. I was also growing out highlights at the time, and one of the salons trainees was observing my haircut, and asked if I was just going to grow them out instead of coloring them. I told her yes, and she just looked at my hairdresser and raised her eyebrows.Overall, this was the most bizarre hair cut experience of my entire life, very awkward, and I was shocked by the lack of professionalism.

A facial with Emily will make your face feel like it’s been in heaven and a haircut with Courtney will make you feel like a million dollars. I highly recommend. Also, their fireplace is the perfect place to catch your breath, a getaway from the hustle of the day.

Emmalea is fabulous! I look forward to getting a facial from her every 6 weeks. She is incredible knowledgeable, kind, and helpful and designed an at home skin care routine for me to keep up between visits. Emmalea is why I continue to come back to Jiva!

I have gotten three haircuts here in the course of two years, all of which ended up looking terrible. Most recently, I wanted curtain bangs and shoulder length hair, but it ended up looking like a disaster from the 70s. I had to go somewhere else to fix it and now I have lost all of my hair and have a pixie cut. I am very disappointed and upset.

Ive been with Emily for years she do my lip and Chin and she does a great job, she very professional.

I had the ultimate experience at Jiva. Megan was fantastic, explaining everything she was doing, asking if I needed anything, etc. I will definitely go back to her! I will also utilize the other services. I feel a massage in my future :-)

I absolutely LOVE going to Jiva! They provide an amazing salon and spa experience. I have gotten my hair cut, massages, and facials there and have been extremely pleased with the amazing service each time. I never used to use any products purchased from a salon but thought I would try some Aveda shampoo and conditioner. After using it the last few months, I cannot wash my hair with anything else or I notice a huge difference in how it feels. All of the women there are very nice and the experience provided is not one to forget! I definitely reccomend Jiva Salonspa to everyone!

I was so looking forward to this pedicure. My app was at 11:00. First off I had gel polish on my toes. They had no way of taking that off properly, which I did not know. She scraped my nails for an hour! I could not have been the first person who’s ever been there with gel polish! Then she smoothed my feet Then she rubbed each leg for about 20 seconds and wrapped them in a warm towel. Then she applied the polish. The thing separating my toes was not on correctly and smeared my big toes when I got up to go to the bathroom (after sitting two hours). She dabbed at them a little but honestly did not fix them right. The price required a $10.00 deposit and another 50$. So the price of this “pedicure” was over 60$. Live and learn!

Got the pedicure and foot massage here several times. Emmalea is truly amazing at what she does! Im on my feet all day and she definately helps my feet feel better! Best ever! Cant thank her enough! Well worth every penny spent!

Jared the massage therapist I go to at Jiva is extremely knowledgeable. Jared has been very helpful in restoring my health after a few health setbacks. Highly recommend him as his background is in Nutrition as well as Sports Medicine, so his knowledge is vast.

Amanda is the only hair stylist whos ever cut my curls into bangs properly. Love the spa for massages as well and the hair shampoo makes the whole hair cut experience worthwhile by itself!

Ive been going to Jiva for waxes since June 2015 and I would go no where else! I was very nervous for my first wax, but my esthetician, Trini, was very professional and made me feel comfortable all the while I was feeling extremely exposed haha. I have also had the other two estheticians, Chelsea and Emily, and they are both wonderful people as well! They are all easy to talk to and again, extremely professional. I have always been happy with my waxes and if you do see something you would like different they will make sure you leave with what you wanted. I live about an hour away and I will continue to drive to Cedar Falls because of the excellent service I have received.

It’s actually a relaxing spa every time I go in. They are gentle and take their time on my hair. The massages are relaxing and rejuvenating. I’ve been to a lot of spas in my life and none of them ever beat Jiva.

Everyone was very nice and made me feel very comfortable. I had the full body massage, a hair style, manicure, and makeup.I was disappointed that my manicure didnt last even a week, but otherwise everything was great, and I would definitely go ahead and recommend it.

My massage with Jared was above and beyond. Jared has phenomenal customer service and is exceptionally professional. Aveda’s products are superior and provide amazing results. Hands down, thee most thereputic massage I’ve ever received!!

My experiance is that of working with Melanie and her ability as a reiki healer. She is incredibly well learned in her craft from start to finish. This includes explaining exactly what reiki is, how it is utilized in assisting you , the process she will use and then what aftercare is needed to put you on the best foot forward after your session is complete. Id reccomend her time and time again and if your looking for that big first step forward for physical, emotion or spiritual healing then Melanie is without a doubt one to go to and one Id refer~

Amanda has always been on point with her recommendations. I have not enjoyed having to grow my hair again after chemo, but she always makes me look great! 💗

I went to Jiva for waxing this week, and I had such a great experience that I felt I should leave a review. My esthetician, Chelsea, was absolutely delightful; fun to speak with, knowledgable and very professional. The waxing went so well that I felt relaxed and refreshed afterwards as though Id had a massage. She double and triple checked the areas being waxed, and tweezed hairs that remained, which some spas skip all together. The waxing room was warm, comfortable and discrete. The spa waiting area has a beautiful fire lit which provides the most relaxing natural cedar scent throughout. I will definitely be returning to Chelsea at Jiva for all of my esthetic services while living in Cedar Falls.

The atmosphere is very relaxing (supposed thats how they get away with charging so much), went in for a couple different treatments, my 30min facial was only 10min and they never took the $20 off for a promotion. Suppose its my fault I didnt pay attention to the amount when signing.

I go to Jiva for waxing. This place is clean, they always wear gloves and I have not had a bad experience with them. (I have been going there for about a year, waxing once a month). Only downfall is the prices. Jivas prices are on the higher end.

There is a miracle/hairdresser at Jiva and her name is Amanda Lewis!! I came to her a little over a year ago with over processed and destroyed PURPLE hair. No other place I went to would listen or could understand that when I told them I wanted my nautral red hair color back that did in fact mean natural looking and not purple/red. That lead to alot of bleaching :-( Amanda send me home to grow my roots for a few weeks and I came back in and she MATCHED THEM?!?! Colored my hair so it was all even to my natural color and over time she cut all the bad hair off. Over a year later and I happily have my natural hair and my natural color back(no more coloring every 6 weeks) and its healthier than its ever been!! She refused to do what so many others have done and just keep charging me to bleach and pick random hair colors and banking on multiple trips to keep that color up. She knew I could not afford that nor did I want that. She knows her stuff...REALLY knows her stuff.Give her your trust and she wont disappoint! #trustAmandaLewis2016!!!

I have never in my life been to such an amazing place and the staff is absolutely awesome and goes above and beyond and my waxing experience hurt very very minimal and was so perfectly promptly done and the gal that waxed me let me just kinda unload some things on my mind and we talked just like as if we were best girl friends hanging out! My hair turned out same light red as my hair stylist. I was looking for blonde with highlights. She said would put more blonde in it on next appointment. Very disappointing after a long consultation & hours in the chair. My hair is a dark blonde naturally.

Beautiful Aveda salon. My experience here has always been great. People think its more expensive, but in my experience its not. Prices are very reasonable compared to other salons in the area. You get what you pay for.

Beautiful salon but was very disappointed with the service. Two stylists were not able to deliver a simple side braid and made an inappropriate excuse for their inability. 80$ later and I had to redo my hair style.

Shape of brows turned out great but waxing specialist did not apply antiseptic until I asked and I started to break out. If getting waxed make sure to ask a head of time
