Perfect dive bar in Rockport. Band outside, DJ inside which was cool. Got to take in two completely different vibes. Drinks were fairly priced which was very refreshing in today’s ridiculous price gouging marketplace. Has a pool room too so there’s quite a lot to do in one bar. Bartenders were friendly and quick, people were dancing and having a good time. Fun place!

The service was fantastic. All three bartenders were attentive, personable, and fun to be around. The karaoke singer that started the night off was great. The band that followed later played a great selection of music that sounded great also. Its definitely worth another visit.

Stopped by on a Sunday night. Bar staff made us feel at home immediately. Cold drinks, good company, great time. Zach may just be the best bartender in all of Texas!!!

Love this place. Its just going downhill downhill and I feel sorry for my friend.She, she works hard to keep her businesses of upload. Im sure. But she needs to check and keep an eye on her staff.

Such a cool place to have a cold one on a hot day. The place is inviting and plenty of parking outside. In the past we have enjoyed live music and some mixed drinks.

The owner is awesome, and let us try whatever we wanted before we decided on our drink choice. There had been a power outtage, so the machines werent ready, but we didnt mind waiting. He gave us complimentary drinks because we decided on waiting instead of leaving. Theres lot of options and something for everyone!

Great place for drink, live music, and good people

Not as great as I thought it would be. Thought it was part of the Sugar Shack franchise made famous by movie stars but it’s a beach bar. Seems to be fun on a weekend but we went on a Tuesday. The sister bar is a lot better! Legends! But they were closed. Their karaoke should run longer until at least midnight for added fun 🤩

The place was hoppin. It was jammin with great music. The staff was friendly. The place was clean. All in all it was pretty sweet. It was quiet today but it was Sunday . The staff is still friendly. The beer is cool . It is still a nice place .

Wow, we have been coming here for years and have never had a bad time!!! I love a good dive bar with friendly patrons and staff! Debi (sp?) and Zack were sweeties during our visit !Good cold beer and reasonably priced. They were also doing a crawfish boil in the back and were accepting donations. They were delicious!

I went to have a few drinks at the bar with some friends. There was definitely an older crowd. Great service, and cold beer. Just not what we were looking for that day.

Water downed drinks, not poured properly, live music was great, but had advertised karaoke for Saturday night, I was greatly disappointed that it was not. Over crowded in the back, but understandable for a small area. The front area was much more relaxing and we spent more of our time up front outside.

It was the Oysterfest parade it was awesome we had a great time it was so many people it was really awesome you really have to go next year.

If i could give NEGATIVE stars I would. I know this is Texas and I know it’s the south, but this place legitimately will NOT serve black or brown people and they will harass any guest or customer that isn’t white. This is supposed to be a tourist area and they aren’t welcoming at all. My group of friends was ignored by the bartender, singled out and not allowed to play our own music on the jukebox that requires you to pay, which we had the money to do so. Everyone felt unsafe and we left without getting any service at all. I always loved Rockport growing up, but this town is not safe for people of color. Stay away and be safe y’all!

If I could give less than a 1 star I would. It is a very small space with an even smaller energy. And it’s owned by a crusty white lady who has no business organizing music events in the first place. Do yourself a favor and skip this beach trash town (and this bar) yuck

It was really nice. Good live music. Everyone was friendly. There was one bartender , Hispanic guy wearing a black hat , very rude. Other than that I had fun. Great atmosphere. Minus rude bartender.

Very lively Friday night scene with live music on the back patio which is very large and fun. Indoor bar is kind of sheik in a strange Texas dive bar way. Indoor bar is smoke free (very nice). Drinks were good and very fairly priced. Yall check it out now! Ya hear?

Good local hang out and great place to get a late night drink if your from out of town. Bartender are some of the best in town and on the weekend they have live music. From a recent transplant from Austin to Rockport I give it a solid 👍👍👍👍👍

Had a blast tonight. Celebrating my last night in Rockport, its been fun til I see yall again.

Nice little neighborhood bar. There is indoor and lots of outdoor seating. Out back you can almost see the water. We were just there the other day for Fulton clean up. They really care about the community and were the headquarters for volunteers. They made sure we had snacks and water. After, they fed us super grilled hot dogs and fixings donated by one of their distributors. Really nice people!

This place is awesome! Coming from Austin I was sceptical of the local bar scene but I was surprised to find this gem. Some tourist get a little outta control but the local crowd holds down the fort.The bartenders definitely make this place have an awesome atmosphere. Chris is a riot!!! Looking forward to another trip if not just to hang out with this crowd!Had to go back again and was just as much fun. My recommendation- pace yourself, you dont need to get obliterated to have a good time. Nurse a couple of drinks, catch a buzz, there is some excellent people watching to do here. Make some friends and let Chris entertain you!You will see some people get the boot and rightfully so. And watch out for your date, Mr. Burns may try to rub on your girl when you go to the restroom. The staff do a great job at maintaining control though.Who wants a piece of the grey bush??

Great place to have some beers and shoot some pool in between fishing sessions. They have live bands and a very cool outdoor area.

Sweet hole in the wall. Live music out back with plenty of space to put your dancing shoes to work. Inside there are two pool tables, giant Jenga, and a few other little games to socialize over. Cheap drinks and quality bar tenders. Definitely a fun place to be if youre into any of these things.

Went to listen to music and have a drink. The entertainment was great. But after he got started a crowd came in that over powered him, could no longer hear him even with the speakers. Sorry but I will wait and catch this entertainment somewhere else where you can enjoy the music.

We don’t live locally but my family does have two vacation spots down there so visit RO frequently. We were on a two hour wait at the restaurant next-door due to the holiday weekend. We had the baby with us and just wanted to come in for a drink and bring it and sit outside. Immediately upon ordering, we were told by the waitress/bartender to get out because kids weren’t allowed. We couldn’t even buy a drink to go take it and sit outside at one of the several empty tables outside. What y’all didn’t know is that I had a party of 13 following me. None of us stopped in for a drink because of this. No signs that read 21+ and up. Personal choice at the bar. I get it no kids inside, but a sleeping baby in a stroller outside was going to cause a ruckus? We took our 13 headcount business down the road! Prost beaches !

We went on a Tuesday so it was slow. Loved the atmosphere. You can see a little bit of the ocean from the outdoor seating. I get the feeling its pretty packed on the weekends. Worth visiting when in Rockport.

Fun dive bar, good karaoke. Staff got a bit rude with people, especially at closing. I couldnt figure out if they were actually jerks or if it was supposed to be part of the charm. When a customer cant tell the difference, then its probably to jerk-y.

I am ashamed that this bar is part of the Rockport/Fulton culture. They profile people upon entrance. I am a white female and always allowed entry alone but whenever I am attending with my Hispanic boyfriend or other members of my extended family that are Hispanic, I am either denied entry or once inside, will not be served drinks and end up having to leave. I am local (1 year resident) and embarrassed to bring family in town and attempt to show them a good time in the evening at this venue. This latest visit has prompted me to seek civil action since it has happened so many times.

Comfortable, quaint little bar. My first visit wasnt as good as my second. First visit there was a rusty piped drink, singing a lot of bad karaoke. Second time, Ashley the bartender was on point and friendly. Prices are decent for a coastal town bar.

I love this bar. We come here almost every day and the people and workers are so friendly. A lot of Winter Texans come for the great music from Janelle. The food that TomCat makes is the best food that I have ever eaten in a bar. Come check out Sugar Shack and you will see for yourself. We love shooting pool. We have always had a blast when we come to Sugar Shack.

Nice local spot with ample seating inside and out. Small bar so not sure what its like when busy. My friends and I enjoyed it and would go back.

It started out fantastic, dancing, drinking having a wonderful time until one of my friends was kicked out because of his sexual preference. Apparently not everyone is accepting of everyone! Too bad. We need more kindness in this world!Will never return.

On may 28th I left my purse at the table while I was at the bar with my wallet, I ended up forgetting my purse there. I called a few days later to see if they had it I spoke to Zach who told me yes exactly what I was describing was there he furthermore confirmed everything inside including money, I thanked him and asked how long they could hold it or if they could ship it since I’m from out of town, he said he would leave a message for the owner/ manager and they will get back to me the next day. I never received a call so I called back days later, the following person also confirmed it was still there with the money inside and a note for a call back, they told me they would leave another note to wait for a call back, but I never received a call so I called again a few days later. A few days later the lady who answered said the purse had been shipped out already, I explained that I never gave anyone an address, she said she would have the boss give me a call, but no one called me. A few days later I called again and the guy who answered also said it had been shipped, I explained Everything and they said someone will call me soon but again no one did. I called several times leaving a message, one of the times a lady answered and said she knew exactly what purse I was talking about and she confirmed exactly what was inside including the dollar amount, she said she had a meeting to go to and would ask the owner about it, she was suppose to call me the next day but didn’t. The next day I called and spoke to Sam who was extremely apologetic said she had to talk to the owner and would call me right back but she didn’t, I called again on June 16th but no answer. I understand I should’ve been more attentive however the run around was extremely unnecessary and disrespectful

Dog friendly, inside and outside seating, people and staff super friendly, wide variety of beverages. Only downside is no food service. Will go here again and would recommend.

This is absolutely the best place to enjoy yourself in the Rockport - Fulton Texas area. The people are friendly and the music is great. Lots of fun without the cloud of smoke at some of the other places in the area. Smoking is permitted but the ventilation actually works making for a much better atmosphere.

We stopped in this place a few times and it was hit and miss. When it was good it was great and other times we were surely the out siders.If you go, stop in. You will know in a few moments if you are going to feel welcome or not. If not, then you decide to stay or leave.

Great live music! That entertainer/singer Janelle Shetters is fabulous.People are laughing at each others tall Texan tales, dancing & even sneak on stage to sing a few notes with Janelle.It is all fun here!

It is a regular bar, only has karaoke twice a week. The staff may have been jerky at closing (as per someones earlier review) because they were still under curfew due to hurricane Harvey and would be shut down if customers were still in the building. Were generally friendly in Rockport, the staff @ the Shack are great. Theres just a lot going on right now.

Great spot in a beach town. Ambiance is fantastic with inside and outside entertainment. The back patio has bands and karaoke and you can have a lot of fun!

Saturday night was very busy, but bartenders ignored us at two different bars inside and served the locals who came up after us, even though we were right there standing directly in front of the bartenders waiting. Never even acknowledged we existed. After 15 minutes of being ignored, we left. Not for tourists/visitors. Spend your money somewhere else that cares about new customers.

This customer service in this place is poor. The bartenders are poor and have terrible attitudes. Probably the worst bar in the State of Texas. Do yourself a favor and go down the road to a much better bar with great people working there. You wont be disappointed. This place gets an F-.

Fun bar with pool tables and music. The was a large cross section of customers from local and from 20 miles away. We really enjoyed the atmosphere, music and the cold beer and will return.

Horrible service. Bartender stopped making our drinks after 4 minutes of waiting for her to even begin making our drinks, to make 2 other drinks for another person. The Margaritas were disgusting! Do not come here. Service is horrible. Drinks are horrible. The floor needs to be swept.

You will not meet a friendlier group of folks anywhere in Rockport-Fulton. Dogs are welcome, there are daily happy hour specials, patios in front and back, bar games, and TVs. Only downside is small selection of beer and smell of cigarette smoke. However, Ill gladly put up with the smoke to relax here again with my dog.

Out of all the places in this world where I have chosen to have a drink this one sticks out as the worst. My friends an I ordered a margarita on the rocks and we received a small clear solo cut filled to the top with ice and I saw them put put what was what I thought was a margarita in the cup. Upon taking a sip I realized that there was zero alcohol in this drink. What they have in the liquor bottle must have been watered down to the point of not being able taste anything.The mixer they use barely even tasted like lime.I would not recommend and I would not return to this place.

Great environment wonderful bartenders. You should go and enjoy the music with them. Weather its a DJ that box on the wall or the band on the back patio. Grab your friends and go.

As I was merely strolling along some street looking for a place to grab a nice, tasty White Russian, I see this place called the Sugar Shack, since the bar I had intended to attend was closed. So I decide to go check it out since INXS was jamming from the joint.Upon my arrival, I am greeted by a jolly fellow who asked me for my ID. I responded by asking if this place was a gay bar. (Not that I have anything against gays, or their bars, but I just didnt feel like hurting a bunch of feelings with my nonchalant rejections) I had to ask, being called The Sugar Shack. Hesays no, so I show him my ID. I go in, order a White Russian, and its a pretty darn good one!I sit at the corner table, watch the scenery, which is nice, they play great music, so Im digging it. Cant find a thing to say something negative about! So I give this place 4 stars. It was five, but the hot drunk chicks left so I subtracted a star.

Beer is cold but the place is smoky and doesnt serve food. Go next door to Benchwarmets for equally cold beer, no smoking and good food. Its not Sugar Shacks fault Texas refuses to pass a no smoking law and if youre a smoker its a great place for a beer and conversation.

It’s meh... Entertainment was a guy singing from a laptop - He was singing what seemed to be karaoke, confusing. Either way it was an interesting atmosphere.

Lousy service... Friend didnt tip and either one of the bartenders or friend of bartender tried to start a fight with me as we were outside leaving just because my wife and friend made a complaint about the service.
