The new building is very nice. Felicia is absolutely the best massage therapist. Ive been going to her for years.

My girlfriend wanted to get us a couples massage as a gift for my birthday. She called back in June, 2024 for an appointment. Her only request was that we get 2 female masseuses. The person on the phone told her they would not have 2 females available until July 26, 2024. My girlfriend went ahead and booked that date.When the date came, we drove to the location on the Coralville strip that I had seen for many years. We pulled up to the empty parking lot, and saw they had moved to a different location. Luckily we were early enough that we had the extra time to drive to the new location. It would have been nice for the lady on the phone to relay this information when my girlfriend made the appointment.Anyway, we finally got to the Day Spa & Wellness Center. It looked average on the inside. They gave us robes and asked us to change into them. When we came out, they told us they only have one female masseuse. This was the main reason we patiently waited over a month for an appointment!!! Then at the last minute they tell us, only one female and one male. The stars are dropping quickly! The best thing about the whole experience was the cranberry mimosa they gave us.On to the actual massage. The lady who massaged me (Leaha) was too light and gentle with my massage. I told her at least 4 times during the massage to increase pressure. She would go from a pressure of 2 to 3 (out of 10) briefly, then go back to the soft massage. Alex (the masseur) who massaged my girlfriend gave her a good massage by her report.My girlfriend and I are both very athletic and we were looking forward to a great deep tissue massage. This was one of the lamest massages Ive ever had in my life! We have been to many spas and massage centers across the US and Asia and this place was truly disappointing.To make matters worse (and maybe this is my personal opinion), we found both the male and female staff had an unprofessional appearance with poor grooming and what looked like street clothes. I could not relax enough to even enjoy the mediocre massage delivered.If you want bells and smells and a lame massage, by all means, go to this place. If you want a really good massage, go elsewhere!

Alright so, I will preface this whole review by saying that I have never received a DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE... But I dont think Ill ever want to go anywhere else.Alex did an extraordinary job and left me feeling new.... New is a good word. I am a large human I stand at 66 and weight around 300lbs. Im built like a lineman and Alex loosened me up like I never thought imaginable.After a few masssages from my girlfriend, she suggested I go get a professional deep tissue massage. Since I carry most of my tension in my back and shoulders I didnt think anyone would be strong enough to get the knots out. I was wrong, Alex did just that. I opted in for the 45 minute Deep Tissue and I wish I woulda gotten an hour.I am from Chicago, Illinois and I am seriously contemplating driving back to the Iowa City / Coralville area once a month to work out the stress.The feeling is intense but it is also relieving, I think I have found my home at Spa Bilanica, and thank you Alex so much for helping me work year old knots!See you all soon.

Alex is unreal. He is incredible. If you work out he is just what you need!!! I booked 2 hours and feel like a new person! The new facility is beautiful!

Was very disappointed to get a call 2 hrs before my massage that they were cancelling my appointment because my person called in sick. Its my birthday, Ive been waiting for this appointment that I scheduled 2 months ago, I took the day off and no massage. Not a happy customer at all since I fulfilled my end of the appointment months in advance!

Very disappointing interaction with your spa receptionist. Tried to book multiple services a week in advance for myself and a friend, spreading them out over 4 days to try to be accommodating as we live out of town and cant plan things weeks in advance due to family and work. The receptionist was not very pleasant and said we had to book multiple services a month in advance. So, I called another spa and the receptionist was wonderful, fitting in all the services we wanted, plus mani/pedis and hair treatments over the same 4 days without a problem. Much, much better service and will be going there instead for any future spa days.

Very poor service and communication. Receptionist need to go get some education from an accredited institution and all the masseuse there, need more training.I used to go there all the time with my husband but the service has declined tremendously. I will not be returning.I would give this place no stars if I could.

I had a frustrating experience- my fiancé gifted me with a gift card so I scheduled a chemical peel. I specifically read all of the facial options and checked on their website for any contraindications to chemical peel- there were none. My appointment was late in the evening and when I was chatting with the esthetician she told me my use of topical tretinoin and erythromycin were contraindications to the chemical peel and thus couldn’t offer it and I specifically needed to check with my dermatologist about doing a peel with the erythromycin on board… I said I’d have stopped using them had I read a list of contraindications or instructions on the website.. she said there was none… when I asked about other treatment options she said it was too late in the day and thus had prepared nothing else, so I walked out with no treatment or service- While I appreciated her explaining her rationale- overall I was really frustrated about this- please add contraindications to your treatments online so people don’t waste their time! I’m giving two stars because I have had other services here which have been good.

I love this place! Got massages here monthly for years. 3 words…. ALEX DEEP TISSUE! I recommend him to everybody. Does a sensational job. I am a heavy lifter and always super jacked up. I leave there genuinely feeling lighter, amazing, and stretched out.Also- love the relaxation room with drinks and snacks before the massage itself. They give you robes and hot neck wraps to get in the zone before just laying down on the bed.10/10 for me.Wish I stilll lived close have yet to find a masseuse as good as Alex.

This is a wonderful spa! The staff is very welcoming. I like that you can change into a robe and sandals and spend time in the relaxation room before your service. It’s a very relaxing environment.I highly recommend Felicia for deep tissue massage!

I had such a great experience during my recent visit. This place has always provided good service. During my latest visit, I got to enjoy the relaxation room - which was wonderful. I was not aware of this service in the past.Other things I love about this spa is that it is extremely clean, the staff is polite, friendly and courteous. My esthetician asked me my skin concerns and did an excellent job. She was gentle with my skin which I appreciate very much. The overall ambience of this place is perfect for a relaxing spa experience.

Will definitely go again. A much needed massage after going on rollercoasters during family vacation. I got a 30 minute deep tissue massage from Jacob. They give you a complimentary drink beforehand and you get to hang out in a nice little room with a hot towel and a warm neck wrap while you sit in a robe and listen to relaxing sounds. You also get a locker to secure your belongings in, and you get to choose your own pin code while doing so.

I took my mom to Spa Bilancia for her birthday. She was going through chemo treatments for breast cancer. The owner offers free facials and skin treatments for cancer patients going through treatment so I scheduled that for my mother and I got a regular massage. The owner was extremely thorough and knowledgeable. She asked my mom lots of questions about how she was doing and her treatments.The lounge is small but very relaxing. My massage was great. My mom said her treatment was wonderful. Extremely relaxing and made her feel amazing. My mom went back for another treatment and said it was just as amazing as the first one. They even let my dad relax in the lounge as my mom received her treatment. Wonderful place, wonderful owner and I would absolutely recommend to anyone!

This time was very different from the last time I was here. I was greeted at the front, shown to put on sandals, shown the locker room (didn’t even know that existed on my last visit), given tea and shown to a relaxation room (also didn’t know that existed last time- I just waited in the lobby my first time there). My masseuse (Barb) was so sweet and she really worked out some tough knots in my back which I loved her for. Thanks for training your front desk staff to be welcoming and helpful in pointing out these amenities! It made a huge difference.

Amazing experience with Alex today, he really understood the problem areas I had and took the time to understand what those areas were and he took the time and spent the full time focusing on those areas. I cannot express how grateful I am to Alex and to the amazing massage I received. I fell so much better now then I have in the past 12 month. If you want to receive an amazing massage with someone who will focus on your problem area and wont stop until you see relief he is your guy and I would highly recommend m. I will be back and will for sure be asking for Alex again.

The best spa Ive been to. The relaxation room before your appointment is such a nice touch. Everyone is friendly and the service itself made me feel like I was relaxing and being pampered for hours even though it was a one hour treatment. I had a facial from Dallana and she was wonderful! I cant wait to come back for my next treatment!

My experience started as soon as I walked in. This was my first time here right away was greeted by a receptionist. Very soothing. However, I was a bit disappointed with my facials. During the treatment, it felt very relaxing as it should, however, my extraction treatment was incomplete. I felt that the technician who took care of me was inexperience (young woman) as I had to come home and finish up some of my facials. I guess next time I should specifically ask for someone who is familiar with my skin complexion, though i did not think this was necessary. Lesson learned I supposed. Otherwise, overall the place is nice.

This place is truly exceptional. Its no surprise that its often booked well in advance, given how great they are. The staff is incredibly professional and accommodating, and their services always leave me feeling relaxed, refreshed, and rejuvenated.

I have been here for several massages and could not find something to complain about if I tried. The service is exceptional from the time you call to schedule right up to the time you leave. They have even taken the time to call after an appointment to offer advice. Additionally, I have purchased a couple gift certificates, and the recipients always rave about the experience. It is a great comfort knowing you can trust your loved ones are going to receive extraordinary care every time.

This spa was recommended to me by a friend because they are “big girl friendly”...and they totally are! There’s no awkwardness and you don’t feel judged when you walk in. The staff is so kind and you feel like they really want you to have a nice, relaxing, comfortable time. They have catered to my spouse and I on more than one occasion. Jennifer is amazing! She hit all my pressure points and really spent the time on them. My guy loved Cole as well.

This is one of the best spas Ive ever been to! I recently moved from Seattle and have been on a mission to find the best spa in town. Well, I found it at Spa Bilancia. Everything about this place is amazing...staff are helpful, relaxation area is calming, complimentary drink was refreshing, massage bed is the most comfortable Ive ever been on, and my massage from Alex was a true deep tissue massage which is hard to find. Dont hesitate to book a service at Spa Bilancia, you wont be disappointed.

I dont know why I am just now leaving them a review because they are by far the best spa Ive been to in the Midwest. I went to get a facial over my birthday weekend last year and they made sure my experience was extra special (I even got a cupcake 😊). I definitely need to book another appointment soon!

My friends and I just had a wonderful afternoon at the Spa Bilancia! Half our group had facials and the other half massages and each person had a great experience. The staff was friendly, accommodating and didnt rush us...which was so nice for a bunch of busy moms! I definitely recommend to anyone and would return in a heartbeat...fun to have a big city spa experience in the heart of Iowa.

I am blown away by the service here! You are treated like royalty. My entire experience was relaxing from the moment I walked in the door and the massage was well worth the money. The massage also includes a complimentary snack and drink which was a nice surprise! Make sure that you show up early to fully get to enjoy these benefits in the relaxation room!

Absolutely exceptional spa experience! My first visit to Spa Bilancia for a massage and facial. The interior of the spa is warm, quiet, and supremely relaxing. Would suggest arriving for service early to enjoy reclining spa chairs, warm neck wrap, blanket and hot tea or wine in the spa lounge.Ive been to five or six other spas in Iowa City and none compare to the experience here. Extremely professional staff and impressive environment with a sole focus on spa treatments (other spa/salons are distracted from relaxation by the chatter of hair and nail appointment customers).

This is my happy place. Every visit is a treat. I always see Cole and he is very attentive, asks about problem areas, pressure, gives me feedback after the session about how I can better care for myself, and he remembers me even though my visits arent regular. The ambiance of the whole place leads to relaxation. This is a self-care treat that Im very grateful to have found.

Best massage place near UIHC. I got a 60 minute therapeutic massage with Cole and he was fantastic. Very responsive and accommodating to your needs. The whole vibe of the rooms are peaceful and relaxing, especially the relaxation room. Arriving 30 minutes early for your appointment is essential because you get a chance to really wind down in the relaxation room with a complementary drink, a warm neck wrap, and warm hand/face towel. I will definitely be back again.

Skylar did my eyelashes twice before. She is awesome!! You can easily know that she loves her job. She is really meticulous and I love the outcome. Would highly recommend her for anyone who would like natural permanent eyelashes.

We did a couples hot stone massage and it was the best experience. Alex and Gwen were our masseuses and I cant recommend them enough. Alex does an amazing deep tissue and my husband felt amazing afterwards from Gwen. Will highly recommend them again!!!

Massage was fine, also got a facial with my apt. I was extremely unhappy with the whole experience. Lights were totally shut off, no extractions were done and all that was applied to my face was a bunch of different liquids. I wouldve chose an extraction facial but the descriptions online made it difficult to decipher what facials were what. They did a leg and foot massage during the facial which I dont understand since I was getting a facial? I dont understand how the enestician saw anything she was doing to my skin because it was so dark in the room. There was no steam applied to my skin at all. Expressed my concerns at the beginning of the apt about white heads that Id like to get rid of and they looked the same as before the service. The enetisicians hair kept brush my face during the appointment which was really insanitary and annoying. This place is high compared to other places in town and I was expecting to have a fantastic experience and it really wasnt. Id skip the facials but the massages were okay. Everyone was generally nice in the place.

Gracie was incredible. She took everything I pointed out into account and even identified issues I didnt know I had. She even went as far as to recommend a stretching regimen that would help ease the tension in my shoulders. Top notch experience and a top notch spa.

I dont understand how this has such high reviews. I had a sugar scrub and massage. a few things to be aware of: there are no showers or places to freshen up. ok, maybe not a big deal if you are just getting a massage, but when they offer body scrubs it can be an issue. the body scrub - they do not shower or hose you off, they remove the scrub with warm damp wash cloths which does not work with a sugar scrub. So after the scrub i was sticky and itchy for the entire massage.Speaking of the massage: i felt like i was going to fall off the table the entire time! I said something multiple times to the tech, she didnt seem able to rectify it and mentioned something about the table being weird last time too. I left sticky, sore and disappointed.

I had a massage and facial last week. Thanks to Alex I actually got deep tissue when I requested deep tissue!! It was wonderful. The facial and dermabrasion was awesome! So relaxing, I think I feel asleep during the hand/arm massage (yes, a massage comes with the facial! Yahtzee!). I recommend this place to everyone in and near the Iowa City area. I wouldnt spend my hard earned money anywhere else.

I spent my 40th birthday at Spa Bilancia and forgot I was in Coralville, Iowa. It was so relaxing and the staff was absolutely incredible. They even stole away and got me a gluten free treat from Scratch for my birthday. I will definitely be back and HIGHLY recommend you take a day and book a facial, massage, and spend time in the meditation room.

Overall Atmosphere was nice. Pre-massage amenities were pleasant. Couples massage with a close friend started out fine but went awry when she had to quickly request that the masseuse turn off the heating pad as it was burning her chest. Masseuse was not even aware that the heating pad was placed there, or turned on. Masseuse was also continuously trying to make small talk during the appointment. We were there to relax.. in silence... not have small talk with staff during the massage.

Extremely relaxing and inviting environment for a massage. Ive had several different masseuses and have yet to be disappointed. I usually go for either a sports massage or general deep tissue massage and arrive a little bit early to take advantage of the relaxation room available while you wait

I called to get a couple massage for our anniversary. They was very to get us in that day. They was awesome. Very nice employees! My wife likes a softer massage and I like deep tissue. We both was able to get what we wanted. Very comfy beds.

This was my very first time here at Spa Bilancia and it wasnt for a very relaxing experience either, it was for waxing. Let me tell you, the spa itself has a very calming atmosphere and looks so nice. They play calming music in the spa itself and in the room where you go to get your facials, waxing, massage, etc. done so it really helps with the awkward silence although, it doesnt bother me as im not a very talkative person anyways. Caitlin did an awesome job at waxing my legs, underarms and bikini area. She made sure I was ok and told me about how to care afterwards as well. We had a little talk and the same day im flying out to NY shes going to get married so a big congratulations to her once again, what a sweetheart. The relaxation room lives up to its name, it is the relaxation room. I almost fell asleep in there. I was surprised when the woman who was up front brought me into the room and covered me with a blanket and gave me a warm neck wrap as well as reclined my seat for me. I guess im so used to doing things on my own so that was a nice touch haha plus ive never been to a spa. When Caitlin came and got me from the room she also took my blanket off for me and everything and I was once again surprised. I had my appointment at 9:00 Am and I wasnt in there for long especially with all the waxing that happened I got out at 10:43 Am. Im so happy, everything feels so smooth and nice. She took her time to make sure everything was pulled off and she even used tweezers. When you think of waxing you dont think of relaxing but in a way spa bilanica made my first time waxing experience somewhat relaxing to a certain extent. Caitlin could tell I was nervous but re-assured me that everything was going to be fine. I was partly nervous because ive never let anyone see basically my whole hairy body before (I know TMI) but I kept telling myself as well that she sees this stuff all the time and is used to it. Anyways if youre looking for a good relaxing experience and a good place to wax this is the place to go. I will definitely be back.

Love that if you come early you can get a glass of wine and relax in a nice quiet dark room before your massage. A bit weird to be in there with other ladies though. Fantastically relaxing massage. Will definitely be going back.

What a hidden gem! There is nowhere like Spa Bilancia in the Coralville/Iowa City area. Was referred by a friend and will refer many myself. The exterior does not do justice to the beautiful and serene interior (they said the outside is getting a makeover in the near future). I felt pampered for the duration of my service and left with the most beautiful lash extensions applied by Caitlyn.

I had a wonderful deep tissue massage today. My therapist was respectful of the quiet and me not speaking for the first half of the massage, and very friendly and helpful when I started asking questions the second half.

What a wonderful experience! I love going here and it is such a relaxing place to go at the end of a long work day. Everyone is professional and kind and the waiting room is so comfy! It is worth every penny.

Around Christmas we walked by guy drinking from a Brown paper bag and smoking only 15 feet away from the entrance and the the guy ended up being my massager lol and the manager believes this is okay for his employee to do.
