Great place when you are looking for a band after the outdoor places close

What a gem we stumbled upon! The Quarterdeck is located at the Isla Grand Hotel right down from The Pearl hotel. It’s an indoor venue with live bands and 2 bars inside, the service is prompt and friendly. The drink prices are inexpensive and if you like dirty martinis, these guys can mix an outstanding one! My bride and I went 2 nights in a row and we heard a country band one night and an awesome rhythm and blues the next. It was a blast as the music from both bands was fantastic. The hotel itself with an outdoor pool and 2 bars definitely needs to be explored. Next trip we’re staying here. Give the Quarterdeck a try, they feature live bands nightly and you won’t leave disappointed.

Not to crazy about how outdated the hotel is itself, but Quarterdeck is so fun. If you get asked by an older gentleman to dance, dont do it!!!! You will wobble out of there and look like a gizzelle on a hot August day. You will be so embarrassed that your legs cant keep up, that you will reevaluate all your life choices.

Love this place. Every time we go to the island, we visit. Love the resident band, girl got some mean chops on vox and especially on those horns. Great atmosphere, even if its on a Tuesday.

The entertainment was very good. Good service and prices were good. We did not dine there. Definitely a go to place for fun and entertainment. The crab races are hilarious. Will be back for sure.

Good place for live music and dancing. But the drinks were weak and pricey and the clientele was definitely on the older side the Friday night we were there. The highlight of the night had to be Mr. Lucky though. We definitely made an entrance with his 80s suit complete with a fanny pack.

Great atmosphere and live music. The waitress was on her game and very attention to details. Great hang out spot while on island.

We stayed at this hotel and bars are closed for Covid. It was nice to have live music outside on the deck. He played great country music, and had some originals he had just recorded. Very friendly and we enjoyed the music. All of the staff we had were great!

The Half-Deck Cocktail Bar on the main level was very good - Their Bartender Raven was very professional and attentive; also well-versed as a Mixologist of higher-end / higher-quality cocktails. I would recommend the Half-Deck Cocktail Bar. Augustine was also very helpful and did a good job keeping things moving in the right direction overall.

Went to the night club for drinks snacks and the show all were very good. Had chicken wings very tasty!

Went for MONDAY night Karaoke at 10 p.m., and $3.50 mixed drinks!!! We are not usually out that late, but it was worth it!!!The hotel, Isla Grande is fabulous looking and we will probably stay there next time we are in SOUTH PADRE.

Just want to say, Thank you 😊 the hermit crab 🐚 races were so much fun. A definite must do and try out. 4 heats , the main heat they can explain way better than I could explain. Fun, Fun

Service is incredibly slow even though they are completely overstaffed. Staff loiters around as if they are there to be part of the decor….They were literally hanging Halloween decorations instead of serving the customers. Entertainment, however, was worth it. Wonderful band including Clay Underwood.

The Quarterdeck is always a MUST when visiting SPI. The bands are awesome, the views are beautiful and the people watching is so much fun. The Dance floor is a little small but you can always find a spot to shake your tail-feather. What more can you ask for?? The bartenders are fast, entrance is free and the bands that they contract are top notch. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting a night out after a day at the beach!!

The Quarterdeck is by far and away the BEST bar on South Padre Island. Live music, dancing, great bartenders & servers...and you definitely get what you pay for when you order a mixed drink. Its the Soldotna on the island where many service workers head when they get off work. That speaks volumes about the fun (and value) to be had here. If you can catch a great live act like Jerrica Ricard & band, you are in for a real treat!My only con is the waaaay too salty popcorn, which is free...but will leave you completely parched. I would avoid if possible.

Good food great service. Austin the manager was very friendly. Great spot to eat and watch the kids swim. Thanks guys!

The standup was good, the band was good. The mc and the local jokes were horrendous and they let our waitress go in the middle of our evening, had to pay out early and no new server. Hopefully the band finds a better bar! Now searching for a better bar, so should you.

Entertainment is top notch. 5 stars for the amazing bands this winter and the comedy show on Thursdays. Drinks are overpriced and weak or maybe even watered down. And dont even try to get something remade if its wrong. They used to have amazing popcorn that made me not care so much about the drinks, but they stopped serving it. And they started making you buy bottled water instead of giving you cups or pitchers of tap water like they did the last several months. I like to go and dance with my friends and we get thirsty with all that dancing! I guess its time to bring my own gallon of water or move on to the outdoor locations now that its getting nicer outside. For the winter months this place was amazing. Sad to see the changes.

Came on a Thursday for a comedy show. Was a great time. Talked with a few of the comedians after the show, all cool guys. The fireworks were a nice touch. Austin our bar tender was awesome! Still cant believe I finished the bottle of screw ball whiskey!

Great fun we had a group here and the Stadd Daniel and Augustin went well above trying to make sure everyone super stoked.

We went to the Quarterdeck two nights in a row during the off-season. Surprisingly, there was still a large crowd! The music was great, and we enjoyed our tasty drinks! We cant wait to go back during the summer!

Dont get me wrong, this place is awesome in every way. However, the last time I was there, I had a table, went outside to smoke, came back in, and my table was given to someone else even though my glasses and phone were still on my table. This is WRONG. DO NOT MESS WITH A CISTOMERS TABLE WHILE THE TAB IS STILL OPEN!!

Worst place on the island. racist workers and racist staff. if you are mexican, you are not welcome here. Steer clear from this place. Sad because the music and band are really good, but the workers are the worst and will treat any person who is not white horribly. Service is bad anyways, and super boring. much better places to spend money and time on. Go to longboards or tequila sunset:

Good live music and entertainment. Crab races were so fun. What a fun way to spend an evening. The popcorn they serve is extra spicy and tasted so good.

Had a terrible experience and wont be back. Two drunks basically took over the Clay Underwood show. Security finally did something but not till over an hour later. Clay is such a good singer, but he talked more than he sang. Very disappointing 😞, and it showed with a lot of empty seats, which in years past, never happened.

Fun times. Friendly staff. It gets really packed and sometimes hard to find a seat. Drink prices are a bit high but it is one of the best places to party on the island.

Absolutely one of the best places on the island for dancing. Crab races on Wednesday are super fun too and really great for kids. The live music kept us coming back every night. Kids allowed until 10pm and the drinks are good. Popcorn for the table is excellent. Overall this place is really fun and will get you movin and grovin!

Love this place..it was our first time. Our friends brought us and the live music and atmosphere was off the chain. We will be back many more times..our new hang out...

Comedy every Thursday night from 7 to 9 is awesome and then live music afterwards makes the perfect date night! The comedians were hilarious and the drinks are top notch! Well definitely be going back again and again... and again lol

Went to dance everyone wore mask. If anyone went out to dance without one the band personal would remind them.Band was good. We enjoyed. The Band changes every couple of weeks. We felt safe. Distancing was practiced.

Went there to have Sunday night taco special that is on front page of web site. Found place empty 2 people at the bar and very dark. Ask waitress about food and was given a appetizer menu. Why put special on web sight and not notify. Wasvery disappointed . Terrible service By waitress also.. wont be back.

We went for the hermit crab races on Wed nights. Thats an interesting experience. Definately something different to do. The band was horrible. No rhythm.. Where is the energetic bands.. 90s.. R&B...gets people hype.. Completely disappointing

We went for 4 days for our 35th Anniversary. The only reason why I didnt give 1 star rating is because the entertainment was great. We did enjoy the nightly entertainment. There was always an awesome live band playing. The main issues were with the water and ice and mixed drinks of the bars and food in the restaurant because the food is cooked with water from resort which makes it nasty tasting anywhere on the resort. I complained about it to hotel personnel and I was told there was a filterization system in place. If there is one I dont think they have ever clean or changed their filters in the system. It was horrible we became ill from it. We went to walmart brought bottled water, ice and food and a hot plate. We brought our own liquor and mixes and made our own drinks and took them with us to beach and pool area and would only drink beers in nightclub. Who wants to go to a resort and have to go to store and buy groceries like your staying in a condo. The resort could really be a nice resort. It just needs a very good cleaning and updating. The rooms were very old and dated. The beds and pillows believe it or not were comfortable. The rooms are not the quality of $170.00 per night stay.I really miss my Mexico snd Carribean vacations, 😔😪☹

Halloween contest was rigged. The lady who got the loudest applause wasnt even in the finals. They came back and said they let everyone online vote. I dont think they did any voting online, and voting should be whoever is in the club not online. Rigged Rigged Rigged. Last Halloween for us there. The contest was rigged and the wait staff are some of the rudest people. I liked the old wait staff. Not sure whats happened, but the wait staff sucks. Time to find a new club

It is always make our experience great when Area Code is there. They only get better each and every time they come. The way Roberta Evens took the time to learn Selenas songs in Spanish only shows there determination to put smiles in all our faces.I want to thank La Grande Isla for always bringing them back because they are the reason I come back.

This is the place for music & dance on the island! Indoors with A/C. Dance alo n e, dance with strangers, make new friends to the rhythmic of great bands!

Great place for small groups to go to listen to live music. Servers are polite and take care of all the tables quickly.

Just had Christmas dinner here and it was by far the worst meal we ate here at SPI. Adults (10 yrs and older) are $30 and kids (9 and under) are like $15 per person. The food was almost inedible. I spent over $150 for our meal and we went out for ice cream immediately after leaving dinner. That should say something about the food and their “dessert extravaganza”. Waitress was very nice, but the food was just awful. I ended up eating 2 plates of mashed potatoes because it was the best thing they had, and I’d give them a B-. I never felt so ripped off for a meal. We should have walked around the buffet before sitting down. The food may be good off the menu, but steer clear of the Christmas Buffet.

Extremely crowded & very loud. Kitchen closed at 10:00pm on a Friday night. Drinks expensive. Band fantastic.

The bartender gal that i hadnt experienced this week, alllll day today was glued to her phone in the corner.I asked the wife if we should stop for a drink, she said the blob bar?Because she sat in the corner of her bar on her phone ALL day.

We were just there on Saturday to listen to Clay underwood (who was great) but waited at least 20 minutes for wait staff to take our drink order and then it was another 20 minute wait to get our drinks!

I always have a great time at the comedy show Thursday nights. My friends and I got a little boisterous last night and I apologize for that. I cant wait to see who will have me ROFL on Thanksgiving night.

Raymond Orta comedy show was superb..Waitress did an outstanding job.Restrooms were very clean.Very clean and well ran establishment.

Midnight Release is the worst, and Cheesiest Band on Island!!! Was woefully disapointed in them. Will not be booking here in the future I cant believe they took Area Codes place for New Years Eve!
