Absolutely my favorite bar for dining with a female acquaintance, drinking with friends, enjoying the night life, flirting with bartenders, catching a Hawkeye game, or just throwing on a dress shirt and socializing or partying. Only been kicked out 3 times in my whole life, and I wouldnt give up the memories for anything. I love seeing friends there, and its a perfect place to find the sexiest women in town any given night of the week.

I got kicked out of my OWN bottle service for zero reason. 0/10 do not recommend, full of minors and under age children AFTER HOURS. worst bar in downtown iowa city hands down.

A while back I decided to write a review on summit when I was having a very bad day, and it was brought to my attention so I would like to redo this. I said before that the fries were over seasoned, I still believe this, on some days, others they are pretty good. I also said that it is stupid that they charge $1 for a box. I still feel that way. However that is most-likely the owners choice and shouldnt reflect upon the staff. Which brings me to my last point, the staff I said before was mostly good and friendly. I believe I may have been referring to newer wait staff as the ones who brought down my opinion, however that is unfair, as any newer person wouldnt be as good as the experienced ones. The wait staff is very good, especially those that are able to take multiple orders with only their memory and get it all right. And they all are very friendly. So I would like to apologize to the staff, as because I was having a bad day, I ended up taking it out in a review. And I thank the gentleman host at summit for bringing it to my attention as an unfair review is unjust.

The food took forever and it wasnt that great. My food was practically cold. We had a decent waitress though. We only stopped in because we bought a Groupon for the place, but I dont think I will do that again. Plus that have a ridiculous dress code for a sports bar that seems pretty targeting to a certain demographic of people.

Extremely disrespectful staff, especially the owner Brad. Brad is a small man on a power trip. He feels the need to belittle women and ended up placing his hands on me. He pushed and shoved me out of the bar when I was already willingly walking out. I was poorly mistreated all because of their mistake of their disorganization behind the bar. I was told they did not have my card when I went to go close my tab. I became frustrated and verbally expressed how upset I was that they lost my card. They proceeded to kick me out, that is when Brad placed his hands on me. The next day I called to double check on my card and what do you know.. They had it the whole time! Instead of just giving my card back when I went to pick it up, Brad continued to humiliate me and raise his voice. Beware if you ever go into summit, as they cannot be trusted. Prime example: Brad.

Friend wasn’t allowed with 3 rips in jeans, but girls can, top floor, girls only on the stage got kicked out for going on there $10 entry, most of the ‘bouncers’ creeps with women, and they let anyone in with a cardboard id, stay clear of this place.

Dirtiest place Ive ever been to. Got there right after the homecoming football game and when you walked in it smelled of vommit. We would of left then but we were meeting friends there. Got served a Miller lite bottle with puke on it. For real....it was puke. Took it back and they apologized and they admitted someone puked all over a bunch of beer. How the bartender didnt notice that before serving says something about their staff. Their bathrooms were the worst Id ever seen. Who ever had to clean them later ( if they even did) would of had to wear a rubber body suit. They should of just called hazmat to do the job. It was nasty from noon till midnight (unfortunately we had to go back later to see friends before we left town). They did mop their main floor at one time during the early evening time but over looked the bathrooms. I do blame the nasty people who have no respect for public property but thats what happens at bars with young college students, but as bar owners you know this.....I shouldnt have to leave your establishment to pee elsewhere. And people paid $5 to go here?? Save your money and go elsewhere!

Started my daughter’s 21st off here. The man behind the bar was amazing. In between drinks he would give her water and he always checked in with our group to make sure we were good.

Loved the prime location spot and the EDM DJ!! It’s nice to see that the Midwest is up to date with music blends that you would normally witness/hear in big cities. A must place to visit if your looking for a a step above the normal atmosphere. ❣️

Host/server barely looked up from their phone to tell me to scan the menu. No welcome. No can I get you a drink. Zero management around. Stood at entrance 5 minutes.Ahhhhhh the Joys of living in a college town .

The most undergraduate of undergraduate bars. Seems to have a more Chicago-heavy clientele. Purports to be a Blackhawks bar, but will turn off the game sound in favor of bad club music at the first inkling of a weekend dance crowd. When upstairs is open its an above average venue for dancing, but I have yet to figure out when or why they decide to open this area up.

Brad the bartender as well as Hannah are seriously amazing! Our family is in town for graduation and came here for some drink, we were provided nothing but wonderful service!

The Hawkeye burger should be on the list of things Iowa students need to try before leaving, absolutely delicious. Fast and friendly service, plenty of TVs, and fill-your-plate fries. Great spot for lunch or for a night out in Iowa City!

I was at bar over 2 hours buying rounds of drinks, I walk out to smoke the attempted to charge $5 cover to return. POOR MANAGEMENT loos for bar staff and patrons NEVER VISIR THIS SCAM BAR.

Its no wander this place only has 3 star rating. The guys out throwing the advertisements are giving them too the birds, the bushes and the squirrels. I donno maybe the deer too. 😂 everywhere and anyone but actual human beings. Guess thats what happens when you trust advertisements to University Students.

Went here for drinks and the bartenders put other peoples drinks on my tab; and they knew I was just drinking beer. I had 2 total drinks for the night. If I could give a negative score, I would. Also, its an underage nightmare. Summit? More like scummit.

Iowa City is one week away from the University of Iowa beginning its in-person classes during a global pandemic. Social distancing, wearing a mask, and staying in is necessary if the virus is to ever go away.Summit has instead chosen to advertise their cheap drinks, drawing large groups of students to party in a crowded bar. They may say that they socially distance and enforce masks while customers aren’t eating or drinking, but we’ve seen the videos showing otherwise. Summit is playing a part in spreading COVID-19, and putting profit above the well-being of their community.You won’t have any customers if we’re all dead.

My girlfriend and I have attempted to eat here twice. As we sat in this place that smells somewhat similar to Tijuana, no person even considered talking to us or even looked at us. I heard that the owner of Summit was in big trouble for not paying his loans back or for not paying to have his garbage removed from the back of the business. Apparently he sticks a Summit t-shirt on the garbage and gives it an hourly wage. Dont waste your time on this dump.

The tips dont go to the workers from what I understand. Disorganized and pourly ran back of house, it seems. Not a fan, will never be a fan.

Overpriced drinks, bouncers think they’re tough even though they’re losers, and I may have forgot to mention bouncers are losers who get hard from telling people no because they think they’re tough and get to tell people no for the first time in their lives.

Cant get a drink from the bartender. I just wanna beer and there is only like 6 people here. Walked clear around the bar withan empty bottle to find her on her phone. Shaaaaaaame. I figure a bartender would hear an empty glass in an empty bar.

Never been but my brother Mike is a chef there so the food is worth checking out. Hes a master with flavors!

Was so terrible//first time i went thier manager has preferences..not professional at all.People Pouring drinks on people and no control whatsoever from the summit staff or manager. Never Going thier again!

Dont know what peiple are complaining about..this is as good as any noght club youll find in Chicago or elsewhere.Super cheap though as opposed to large cities.

Horrible. Broke my elbow there. Almost sued them. No toilet paper at 9 pm (had to wipe my butt with my hand) and no paper towels. Hate that place.

The Tuesday half price pizza is the major reason why people go to this restaurant, but its so slow.

Got slapped by a waitress for giving her a 3 dollar tip. Good times.

If you like to hangout with a bunch of underage kids then this is the place.

Bouncers are power tripping and honestly just Mean. Not worth anything.

Zero stars if possible. Horrible ownership/ management. Staff steals from customers managers provide no support. Avoid this place if possible.
