I went this bar with my parents after a wedding, and 10 MINUTES before close the staff started cussing out every one in the bar, yelling at them to leave, citing legal action if we did not GET UP AND OUT OF OUR SEATS THE MOMENT THEY ASKED. The staff was extremely rude and continued to scream at and harass our family of elderly patrons once they were kicked out of the bar. I was embarrassed to bring anyone to this bar, especially after tipping GENEROUSLY all night.If you want a dive bar that treats its customers with respect, this is not the place for you, extremely disappointing experience.

The live music and comedy are spot on. The monday night stand up is a warm and welcoming crowd full of support for newbies and the open mic music has an amazing jam session vibe to it. It helps that both if these are in their cozy basement that offers a unique and intimate atmosphere. They have more than affordable drinks and a lovely space. My favorite spot in iowa city by far.

Good drink specials the guy that runs the open mic is horrible does not know how do deal with people they will cut off people in 5 mins but give their friends unlimited time to get their word across for the comedy hortible experience never had to deal with this type of situation at any otherr club

Ive only gone here twice for shows with friends. Not my type of place but its fine. The shows are the the basement. The upstairs is really tiny but just a regular bar. Full bar downstairs too.

Ordered the tenderloin and cheese curds both were very burnt and not very good.

Somewhat high priced, but theres plenty of cool drink specials and pretty good sound as a music venue.

I wish I could give zero stars I reached out to them about a raw burger they sold me no response so I’ll be showing this to the health department maybe they’ll care then
