The design of the facility doesnt make any sense- the building has terrible ventilation and the company purchases used equipment to fill its facility. Improper ventilation leads to higher bacterial growth- Peak is a very unpleasant place to exercise. Personal Training doesnt provide value for the price, and the whole experience was severely disappointing.Peak is a budget gym in most other states- in Missoula, its overpriced and doesnt deliver on value. Replacing Concept2 Rowers with Matrix didnt make sense. All Olympic Rowers and collegiate athletes use Concept2 as the gold standard for training equipment. Also, installing squat racks incorrectly in the premium section also didnt make sense- the wall ball targets are positioned into the ceiling lights which make the target useless. One toss and the lights break. The lack of thought behind this facility is puzzling for people who have decades of experience at this gym.Susie Turner has been in charge for 32 years- Neidra has been in charge for almost 14. Management doesnt care about customers or the employees. Susie and Neidra are unprofessional and disrespectful to members. I spoke with two managers who left after 3 months, and they described the work environment as toxic and abusive.
The management seriously needs to improve their communication. Were already dealing with constant locker room theft, and now the Blue Mountain location is closed due to a downed power line. Yet, there was no notification to members—no email, no update on the webpage, or the mobile app. When you call, the message only directs you to check social media for a status.I drove 45 minutes one way on Friday only to find it closed. Now its Sunday, and I still cant determine if its open or closed. The phone message says theyre closed, but it might be outdated. I havent received any emails regarding the status of the power outage. This lack of communication is unacceptable. If your club is closed because of a power issue or something similar, you need to send an email every morning providing an update on the situation. You have members email accounts—use them to give us a status update. Members shouldn’t have to check social media; many of us don’t even have social media accounts.
My husband and I have been members at the peak on and off for the last 10+ years. We have always paid our gym fees upfront. However, we decided to take five months off after buying a house. When I called to initiate a membership again they told me that both of us were still members at the peak and we owe them money. We had never gotten any bills in the mail, phone calls, etc. stating that we were still members or owed them any money. I’m still wondering when they would have told us about our bill had I not initiated a conversation with them. Looking at other reviews, I can see that this is a common occurrence and seems like a great way to scam people out of money. After talking to membership staff, they could see that we had not used their facility for 5 months yet still wanted us to pay the bill. I would highly recommend that people think twice before joining the peak! My husband and I will never again be members at the peak. In result of this incident, our family members have also cancelled their memberships.
The time I spend at body pump (strength), lap swim, and pickle ball every week are my FAVORITE and its all because of the PEAK. I was initially skeptical of the high monthly prices compared to cheaper gyms, but I am SO glad I invested. Not only are the facilities the cleanest Ive ever seen, but the group classes, pickleball and open lap swim are the reason I am still going to the gym!
Im not sure why management decided they dont want a warm sauna. They should tell people that before people sign up for a expensive gym membership. Sauna is never above 150.
Ive been a member on/off for several years. While I enjoy the facility, their membership process is not client friendly. There have been two different incidents in which I felt I was wrongly charged and they were unwilling to work with me. They never called or reminded me that I would begin being charged again. One time they even admitted fault but would still not refund me. Frustrating!!
Friendly staff, and great facility! I’m excited to try their new red light therapy, and cold plunge as well. Our kids can use the basketball court, swimming pool and the track with no extra charge as well which is really nice!
Wow I was super shocked at how filthy this place is. The locker rooms and main facilities are dirty, smelly and very damp! Not good air circulation and everything just feels wet! The swimming pool/hot tub was a HORROR show. Literally water was disgusting 🤢 Luke warm pool with way too much chlorine because its obvious they dont change the water daily. I would not set foot in the hot tub. It was a creamy white color and filthy all around. The glass around the hot tub has white mildew all over it so you can barely see out of the glass. The facility itself is outdated, old workout machines that are an ugly brown color, Im assuming its supposed to mimic luxury leather, but really it makes the place look as outdated as it feels! For top dollar memberships at $58 and up this facility simply isnt worth the money. There are numerous facilities in Missoula that are newer, with better air ventilation, newer showers, better equipment, cleaner all around. I will never go back to this smelly place. Its literally sad how gross it is.
Great staff. Everyone was super helpful and very friendly. The gym was super clean and filled with everything you could possibly need in a gym. I even got a free T Shirt on my last day there. Highly recommend this gym.
I have suffered lower back pain and overall muscle loss from being sedimentary for several years and Kyle has helped me get moving. Its been worth every dollar spent to have such a thoughful trainer show me how to move with purpose and build overall strength without hurting myself and in turn as my body felt better I can exercise more and enjoy it instead of trepidation or intimidation about using the various pieces of equipment in the gym. I broke my leg and showed up for session and without missing a beat he adjusted our exercise plan to strengthen other body parts I need to support being one legged on crutches for 12 weeks. Even with a broken leg hes managed to keep me stretched and moving. Thank you, Kyle, youre priceless!
Kyle is hands down the best personal trainer I have ever had. I have been going to him since December 2022 and won’t be stopping anytime soon. Kyle’s knowledge and education make each session personalized to me and my needs that goes far beyond just lifting weights. We work on internal joint connectivity and mobility, weight lifting and building muscle and manual assisted stretching. My body has never been happier and I love seeing the results from his training curriculum.
First session of mobility training with Kyle was amazing. I have been powerlifting for the last ten years and feel I have a decent grasp of form and technique. The last couple of years I have really started to get interested in mobility training as I hope to get deeper more powerful lifts and help me with recovery. I have followed mobility and yoga apps and really felt like I was still struggling. After the first session of mobility training with Kyle I felt much better than I ever did with the apps. Looking forward to continuing to work with Kyle!
Screw this gym. This gym actually tried charging me for OVER A YEAR when I didn’t have the money. I went through a hard time and was job to job and instead of cancelling me decided to report it to my credit for over 1,111 dollars. I will not pay this because quite frankly I never came a day after I couldn’t afford it. And as a gym manager I personally would never try to ruin a customers credit. This is absolutely absurd and I highly suggest the change the way they handle their business. If someone can’t afford it then I suggest you cancel them out instead of continuing to charge for a year straight. Very unhappy with the way they handled this situation
Been attending peak fitness for several years. Great staff. Never had a personal trainer before. Kyle was great. Extremely knowledgeable and attentative to my issues And was really on top of it. Just a 1/2 an hour of manipulation of my shoulders and walked out of there fealing like a new man.And he was also very gentle on my wallet, LOL. Willing to work with people on a budget. Down the road a few months from now. Im sure Ill be feeling like a Charles Atlas wanna be 🏋♀️Highly recommended
Peak is well equipped to help me achieve my goals. Kyle is an incredible professional to work with. He is incredibly knowledgeable in all aspects of flexibility and conditioning. I have continually improved in strength, flexibility, and my joint pain has greatly reduced as a result.
Today a lady STOLE my gym clothes that I had left outside to dry. They know who she is as it was recorded on video.Management IMMEDIATELY defended her saying “maybe she thought it was free clothing”, trying their best to NOT handle the situation. They claimed their janitor/maintenance person is the one who handles things like that.Management stated that they didn’t know what the gym policy is for STEALING.This is NOT the first incident of management “handling” issues with ZERO resolution.
I love the facility. I appreciate how many cable machines and equipment that is available. The only reason Im not giving 5 stars is the influx of teenagers getting dropped off without parent supervision. I just want to workout, its annoying getting 3 teenage boys ruff housing of machines right next to me. Its a gym, not the next social teenage hot spot and it really feels that way.
Peak ownership/mgmt bizarrely and indefensibly single out senior *tennis members to discriminate against. Peak participates in several programs that provide certain benefits to members of Medicare Supplement/Medicare Advantage Plans (e.g., Silver Sneakers, Renew Active). Among benefits of these plans are fitness benefits that cover the cost of a health club membership. (Note that this means that if you have such a Medicare plan, YOU HAVE ALREADY PAID FOR A PEAK BASIC FITNESS MEMBERSHIP THROUGH YOUR MEDICARE PREMIUMS!) Peak honors this agreement for members with basic fitness memberships, but denies it to *tennis members, whose memberships include a basic membership plus tennis privileges, for which there is a monthly surcharge. It is crystal clear in the terms of these fitness benefits that they anticipate exactly this situation, with the expectation that the amount of the basic membership would be credited towards the total membership cost, leaving the member to pay the difference (e.g., the $26 monthly surcharge for *tennis access).Peak formerly credited *tennis members who have such Medicare plans the amount of the basic membership dues toward their tennis memberships, but, without explanation, ceased doing so ~4-6 years ago. At current membership dues ($69/month for basic membership, $95/month for *tennis membership), Peak thereby OVERCHARGES the senior *tennis members to whom they deny this benefit $828/YEAR!!! Worse, because these members have already paid for the benefit through Medicare premiums, WE ARE BEING DOUBLE-CHARGED the amount of the basic membership EVERY MONTH, first in our Medicare premiums, then by Peaks discriminatory denial of this benefit that we have already paid for with those premiums. Peaks management cannot or will not provide any remotely valid, reasonable explanation for this choice to discriminate against senior *tennis members in this way.*UPDATE: With the advent of pickleball memberships, Peak management has announced that it will discriminate against senior pickleball members as well, likewise denying them the Renew Active/Silver Sneakers/etc. benefits that THEY HAVE ALREADY PAID FOR IN THEIR MEDICARE PREMIUMS.
It is a nice place to work out. The people that work there are really nice.
Really nice, modern gym. Nice array of equipment. Great staff. The pool is good (but Great Falls has a better one.) For as much as you pay for your membership, you would think they could afford some shower curtains so members can enjoy being naked in the showers without visitors. Other than not being able to shower alone, good place.
I am a very satisfied member of the peak. The staff is friendly, the facility is clean and the equipment is fantastic, well maintained and clean.I will recommend this facility.
Great gyms with awesome equipment. That said, very expensive rates, and they’ll charge you on top of your membership for multiple things not included with your membership. For instance - towels and parking pass downtown.
Good gym and friendly staff, unfortunately it’s become overcrowded in the past two years since I’ve been a member. It’s difficult to move to and from your exercises without having to wait a decent time for your next rack or machine. I’ve even tried to change the time of day at which I go and I continually have the same problem.
Nice facilities but not family friendly (sad). Today is MLK day and my kids don’t have school. I wanted to share with them my workout and the gym I go every day (I thought it would be great for my kids to see their dad healthy habits). I was going workout and then swim with my kids (10 and 8 year old). Right away they stop me at the lobby and toldMe they couldn’t be on the weight room (I get it) so I asked my kids to get their books and iPads to wait for me for 30 min at the couch at the lobby while I was doing my workout and told the.l I was going to check every 8 min. The lobby staff told me no, I couldn’t leave them there, I asked if they were bothering them or clients and theyTold me “no”. I understand policy and insurance issues but when you have to kids well behave just reading. Sad for families or single parents. I hope Charlie sees this and thinks about how to help make this place family friend (at least during school holidays).Btw the pool was only open to swimming with kids from 11-noon they told me.
Canceled my membership due to the issues I have had with their third party billing service. Now Im told that because I didnt give them 15 days notice, I canceled 5 days ahead, they will still charge me for next month. Does it take the membership department 15 days to delete my name, why so many days? They could honestly just charge a cancelation fee and it would be a cheaper and easier process.
Did a great stretch with Kyle, I came in with neck/shoulder pain. The stretches he offered helped immediately, I had been dealing with an on and off again headache for over a week. Would definitely recommend going to see him - he is very knowledgeable.
The peak is one of the more expensive gym memberships in town and Ive always appreciated this facility and what they have to offer however, due to their poor customer service I will not be rejoining this gym when I return. Ive been doing business with the Peak on Blue Mountain for the past 5 years. During that time frame I have moved in and out of the area once before and was able to cancel my subscription via telephone. Recently I have moved away again and have been trying to contact them several times in the past 2 months to cancel my subscription. Every time I have reached their voicemail as they are tough to get ahold of in the membership department. In hopes to resolve this issue I left a note with one of the members at the check-in to have them remove me from my account (Which never made it to its intended destination). Despite not going into their facility for the past two months they still expect and have taken payment. They are also continuing to prohibit me from canceling.
This is a great place to exercise. I prefer to work out on my own and the facility is top notch. The weight machines are well maintained. I use about four of them and have never had to wait for access. The track is the best I’ve ever seen. It has very light use; often I’m only sharing it with half a dozen people who are walking. It’s wide enough to comfortably fit many more people than I have ever seen on it. The windows and padded floor are priceless. With access to the new trail along 93, summer jogging is going to be super. The locker room is spacious, a seam room to die for, and everything is clean, really clean. There is much there I don’t use: the free weight area, the pool, the treadmills, spinning bikes and coffee shop. There is an aerobics room and maybe I should take a class, but probably not because putting on the head phones, turning up the music and zoning out is what I call a good work out, and this place is perfect for it.
My family loves The PEAK. It has everything we all need for our very different workout and cardio styles. Super clean facility and equipment. Staff is just the best! It is great to transition from physical therapy (Alpine Physical Therapy - also amazing!) using The PEAKs equipment and incorporating those exercises right into the daily workout routine. Weve been members for two years and look forward to many more!
Poorly managed. The gym used to be open until 10pm now they are only open until 7pm. The only time myself, and many others, schedule allows to use the facility is between the hours of 7-10pm. I addressed this issue twice by email with the club director who skirted around the topic and then just stopped responding to my emails. This isn’t the first time I’ve been unsatisfied with the customer service from the club management. Myself as well as many others have complained in the past about decisions made around times, structure, teachers and curriculum involving the group classes, only to fall on deaf ears with little to no response as to whether our concerns were being heard let alone addressed period. Beyond that it seems about every six months or so the directors make some “policy” that inconveniences a certain portion of their membership. For example I also made use of the childcare facility, last year they changed the payment structure for its use. In the past they would just bill my account at the end of the month for whatever I owed to the childcare which was easy and convenient. Now users have to buy a pre paid card. Several of employees in the childcare service have complained as well about the laboriousness of this process compared to the previous payment arrangement. Also, just FYI, there are two other gyms in town that offer free childcare. I could go on about several other things that this club has done over the years that have screwed over their membership, from lack of maintenance of their equipment to sudden stinginess around the use of their towels. I’ve cancelled my membership and signed up with one of the other gyms that offers free childcare and actually cares about the concerns and feedback of their customers.
Well thought out layout. Nice equipment. Clean. Friendly staff. The pool facility is nice and the hot tub is actually hot. Rarely packed, even between 5-8 you can still get in a good workout. Very pleased, best gym in Missoula.
I love the variety of things to do wehter you just want to relax in the jacuzzi pool, sauna or mix up some cardio etc. Also they seem to listen to your comments on thrit app
Great Fitness Facility. When you are ready to really get your body back from the fat or illness, this place is great place to find help. The kids program is great too. There are lots of different ones. I noticed they have a small group youth getting fitness ready for your sport. Right now (January) is track. If you have a kid (I think starts around 12?) that wants to improve endurance, reflex, conditioning, or strengthen up for their favorite sport, Check this place out!Tennis training here is well put together. Nice.I had a few sessions with Matt G. The workouts were made for my preferred way to exercise and a focus on limbering up. (Hip flexors! 😫)But what I really walked away with was a change in attitude. I wanted to go work out after my package ended, even on my own (WOWWW). By being willing to exercise on my own Im improving even now months later. Thanks Matt.
Be wary of being double charged here. The employee at the front desk gave me a sob story that their credit card system was out dated after I attempted to pay with a credit card. She said my credit card didn’t go through so I paid in cash. When I got home I saw that the charge had posted to my account. I have a feeling it my be a scam and that they front desk is pocketing cash. I attempted to resolve it with them later that day and they would not do anything about it. I recommend if you chose to use this gym be careful about how they charge you.
All of the staff that I have met at the Peak have been friendly and helpful. The facility is kept exceptionally clean and always has a welcoming atmosphere. I especially enjoy the pickleball program that Robert Gearhardt oversees and coordinates. Bob does an outstanding job of bringing folks together to participate in the game —and he does it all on a volunteer basis! Joining the Peak has been a positive experience for me.
I went to the Peak downtown for a few months until I had an AWFUL experience with their front desk worker named John. He was a complete jerk to me and made me feel like an idiot in front of other customers. I’m a young girl, and he obviously has some serious aggression towards females. I spoke with management and they told me this wasn’t the first time something like this has happened. I stopped going there because I was so upset by how he treated me. A front desk worker should never make you feel like such garbage you cry in front of others. The gym is already a vulnerable place.I called this week to maybe try going back there, and he answered the phone. I hung up. Obviously, management doesn’t care how their customers are treated, especially women. I will never go back. Lost me and my family as customers.
Dylan and Emily at the front desk were super friendly and helpful with my experience. Look forward to working out here! Very clean and spacious facility. Peanutopia smoothie is a must have!
I love the Peak on the Blue Mountain and the incredible customer service that I receive every time that I walk into the gym!I’m working out with a personal trainer, Jen, and I am so grateful to have her with me pushing me to my limit! She’s an awesome trainer and I hit a home run when I became a member of the Peak!
Absolutely the BEST parking lot to wait for your ride down the Bitterroot! Spacious with a great view of Highway 93 and adjacent streets!Didnt go inside. I dont work out. Never understood it. Why lift heavy objects when you dont have to.
No flexibility with membership at all. Paid for 4 months of membership dues while not setting foot in the gym. Out of 200 dollars for no good reason other than for a stingy company with no care for former members
All water aerobics instructors and instruction are excellent...clean locker areaGreat way to stay in shape no matter what the season, or the weather! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK
I love the pool! Water is a good temp for lap swimming, and the place is well lit and very clean. The jacuzzi is nice, too. Personnel are welcoming.
The best club in Missoula, a bit pricy, but all the group fitness classes are included in the price and you wont find a better facility in the area. I love working out here... However I wish I could rate the spa separately, I would give it 2 stars. I have gone there twice and havent had the best experience. First I went to get a sugar waxing, it was awful and I broke out from it. And then I went there to get my updo for my wedding and the lady was AWFUL. I had her redo it twice and then I went home (5minute drive) and it had fallen out so I had to go back and she had already left for the day. The manager was super kind and refunded me and I had to have the receptionist fix it. The front desk gal was 10x better at doing hair than the actual stylist. Anyways, I still love the health club, just wont go to the spa ever again.
Had no idea I was being charged for 6 months until I got a notice from collections. What kind of people would keep charging you after 6 months. Very unethical company. I would never recommend them to anyone
Though the facilities are great, when dealing with membership services, after the initial membership period, they try to gouge you. Regardless of when your membership date ends, they will say it is their policy to bill you for the entirety, to include time after end date. Sad to say that they are great when joining, but attempt to be threatening when you try to leave.
The Peaks three facilities are clean and friendly with a nice variety of classes and equipment. The atmosphere is welcoming and relaxed. A great place to workout, swim, or join classes.
Mixed feelings here. They have redone the weight room, and the place is huge, with 1mile track, pool, hot tub, wet and dry sauna and every machine ever made. That being said, its massively busy, and apparently kid friendly/a unsupervised daycare, which is very annoying and a little weird.
This place is oversold and not conducive for those not into group work outs, at least in the early evening hours. Between the barrage of crappy music from the zuma class you can hear downstairs into the locker room or around the track, boom box that the trainers use to blast rap music or nasally pop artists over the weight rooms and the spinning classes, you cant even hear your own ear buds. The gym is taken over by kids basketball, the mats by the baseball team and trainers and other trainers monopolize much of the equipment. The single member trying to get a work out in is pushed aside. Once in the locker rooms, the swimmers leave puddles where you want to dress and lockers are elbow room only.
I should’ve read the reviews of all the other people that were wrongfully charged before I added myself to the list. I’d like to know how many people they’ve scammed. It might make for a good article in the paper.
The group classes are amazing. Every instructor brings their best to each class.
Best health club in missoula. They have giant center for tennis, racquetball, handball, and pickleball. Good pool, good weight facility, track, basketball, cycling, and fitness class studio. You can get a massage there, and it looks like they also do hair and nails.
BEAWARE!!!!! I was not willing to sign a financial contract with peak and I wanted to work out for only one year. I asked if I could do that if I paid cash. The gentleman helping me (asian) said yes we can do that (also stated its non refundable - I understand I said.) and its discounted in price he says because Im paying cash.. My year ends. Now I make a call to peak out of courtesy after receiving a reminder to renew). I let them know Im not attending anymore, my year is up. Peak employee (male) on the phone takes my name and says he will let the office know. Then I start getting notices that I owe peak 174.xx dollars for membership past my 1 year. I talk to the accounting office I explain the whole thing again. She tells me you get charged if you dont call (I did call and funny that never came up when I was paying for my 1 year). I tell her not to send me anymore notices. Now today I get a collections notice for money I do not owe. This is simply an act to damage my credit and name. DO not trust peak Health and fitness. Apparently they will lie to you to get you in and even if the mistake is on their end....their happy to try to damage your credit and name. Im going to court, I will not pay. Oh and to top it off Peak decided to take my EX wifes name from the emergency contact (shes a nurse and friend) portion of the form and add her to the collection complaint. (she lives in a different state). So you better be careful who you list for emergency contacts at Peak health and wellness, you could be adding all your family members to lawsuit and collection with peak, health and wellness. I too am a long term business owner here in town. Unbelievable predatory business practices and I will never do business with peak again.
Best atmosphere. Knowledgeable and personable trainers. All staff I have met are friendly and helpful!
Clean, expansive, health club. Something for everyone. The Pickleball program is excellent!
Excellent gym. Very clean! They even have platforms for powerlifters . Affordable. I highly recommend this location if your looking for a new gym.
At the end of your membership, even if you move, and talk to someone, they still charge exorbitant fees to unemployed individuals. Beware of this Predatory Business. They offer a shoulder when youre in a hard spot, and a backhand for your troubles.
Good offering of classes, just wish they had all of the classes at both locations.they offer Barre at 6 in the morning downtown, but not at blue mountain... Like what normal working person can go to a class at 10am!? I realize this is a first world problem 😂
Changed my review, the front desk people are really nice now and polite. Gym is great and clean.
Peak is top tier fitness center in Missoula Mt. Great staff clean locker rooms and sauna rooms. Covid restrictions in place and enforced rightfully.
They have great facilities, and a knowledgeable staff. I would highly recommend them to anyone.
What can you say, the gym has everything you could possibly want, and it is kept really clean buy it seems, every single member of the staff!
Lots of different options for exercising including a walking/running track, weight machines, elliptical machines, stationary bikes, basketball court, and a pool. The hot tub is also nice.
Great workout center 💪, staff are very friendly and helpful. Abby is the best. Shes off to college next week.
Really enjoy silver sneakers class. Good workout.
What a sweet gym! Indoor track, racquetball courts, pools, saunas, Bball court, TRX area, the list is so long, spa, having Alpine PT right there...so nice!
Very clean and spacious. Due to covid theres some locker room features that are unfortunately no longer available, but hopefully will return as they are very missed!
We have been members for 11 years. The staff is amazing, the rates are good and they maintain the facilities well.
Indoor tennis courts and excellent staff!
Ive been going there now for 3 months and Ive never had a bad experience the place is always kept very clean the staff is very friendly and helpful its a good place to go to workout
Great gym, kid friendly. The hours arent very accomodating. Definitely would appreciate more hours of operation.
Best place in town to get a workout. I enjoy the indoor track and basketball courts.
Staff was very nice and friendly. They were there and ready to answer questions and to provide me with printed fliers of scheduled events.
Great place, helpful staff and a wonderful family atmosphere!!! Everything is planned out with schedules so you know whats available and when and super clean.

Always liked the Peak. Advice on body groups in working as to which equipment will help the most.
