So it seems like a lot of these negative reviews are just a group of people who had one negative experience. I absolutely love this place! I come almost every Wednesday and its wonderful every time. Michelle is fantastic, she does her job to the fullest, plays great music, and gives out good vibes. Its a great place to chill inside and out, decorated beautifully, and there is a nice dance floor to move on. And the floors are never sticky! 5/5 for sure!

Gino is the heart of lime lounge. He is kind and really nice and warm. I had bad experiences before with one female staff and sadly 2 customers they were super discriminating but hey I knew they did that because we were the only ones in the club. I love that now Gino is hosting karaoke 🎤 on Tuesdays I actually go there because he is an amazing soul and he treats customers with respect. That said, lime lounge is a lovely place not too congested or too expensive descent and the atmosphere is accommodating to everyone. 🍷🍷🍷

After moving back to Iowa from the east coast i was thrilled to find a place like lime. Totally not like any other Iowa bar, it has a distinct lounge feel with great drinks and classy atmosphere. Between the karaoke nights, salsa and DJs on the weekends, it has something for just about everyone. If you want to feel like youre in a bigger city without leaving town, this is definitely the place to be.

Its a deceptively large fun place to go when you need a breather. Ive yet to go here and not have a good time. Experimenting with drink concoctions is a passion of mine and the bartenders have been very patient! Speaking of the bartenders, special mention goes to Michelle, Jennifer, and Hailey. You are all my absolute favorite bartenders!

My type of club 😎😎 very nice bartenders, mature/intimate and calm atmosphere! Drinks are delicious and not too overpriced, nice dance floor seating areas and good Djs. EDIT Feb 16th 2019 still my go to! Ginos the best bartender ever you will love him!

Birthday specials are terrible (free drinks sound nice, unless theyre not just mixer). Furniture is old, dirty, and needed replaced. New doorman is rude. DJs ignore request & play horrid techno (and I like techno). Martinis are over priced. Service is slow & poor. Dance floor is small.

This place is sh*%, I use to come here all he time. this past week I had the unfortunate time to deal with the most racist bartender ever. From reading the reviews, it seems like her name is Michelle This chick had the odacity to say crap to my friends because I took my cousin out to the car to get her passport she had no identification besides that, because she came here for vacation. Thinking I brought her to a decent place to have a good time, the bartender was saying crap to a friend of hers ugh I bet they are not coming back either because they are illegal or underage, they probably thought they were going to get away with it. As I walked back in the bar she didnt realize that one of my friends over heard what she said. Once we showed her that we were LEGAL. She acted all faked and nice towards us. As soon as I heard what she had said we walked out. Honestly if people know thats their job why did she need to act disrespectful towards us. Employees like her make good places not comfortable.

If you are from the Caribbean this is NOT the Liming experience you are expecting. Its just another nightclub, its fine as far as nightclubs go but the name can be culturally misleading. I do recommend people check it out though, dont gather any expectations from the name and you will have a good time

I just moved to Des Moines and have lived in several different cities around the US and the world. I have been dancing salsa, merengue, bachata, cumbia, and more since I was a young girl. Let me first start off by saying that this place has potential but management needs to make some fixes. The music for salsa night on Thursday’s was a really poor selection. The DJ played no variety what so ever. It was a lot of bachata ( like four songs in a row) then slow salsa songs ( like four in a row). And not good salsa songs. It did not feel like an upbeat spot. Music at salsa clubs should have variety, different cultures, and really feel like a party. When I requested to the dj maybe play some upbeat songs like regatón to get the girls dancing he said I dont play that kind of music this early. He continued to not feel the crowd but play the music he wanted. Theres a reason its a bunch of young men and not a lot of women. Music makes the environment and this DJ needs more variety and needs to tailor his music to the crowd. His music had Absolutely NO FLAVOR. I don’t think he’s a dancer either because anyone who truly dances would not play music so bland and monotonous. There is no wonder the reviews are poor. When you go to an amazing salsa club you will see a mixture of ages, cultures, and the music plays everything from Salsa beats to African, Merengue, and more. This club has none of that. Overall Don’t WASTE your time.

Was told multiple times over the PA system at 515Alive 14 that the official, FREE afterhours would be here. They had promoted Lime Lounge and even handed out glossy free drink vouchers for artists and VIP ticket holders.So we get on over to the place and theres a line out the door, and SHOCKER, theyre asking for a $9 cover. I dont think Ive ever paid more than a few bucks, but it was announced to be free.Its kind of insulting that they did this, and also charged more than usual, knowing damn well there was going to be a crush of people. Giving drink vouchers was also underhanded, free drinks arent worth jack if youre going to charge a cover so high.

I have been to Lime Lounge several times and have always had great service. They have amazing mojitos with fresh fruit and sugar cane. I also enjoy all of the drink specials.

Very misogynistic owner. Overpriced, I would consider this a ruffie type of club. With that being said ladies watch your drinks for youre safety and wellbeing. All together just a bad time. Spent as long as I could stand it. 45 min..

My husband drives for Lyft sometimes for extra income and got a ride placed from Lime Lounge. This is around last call on a Wednesday night. When he arrives the doorman literally carries and throws this extremely incoherent intoxicated man into the passenger seat of our vehicle. They usher in another really drunk man who can barely walk into the middle seat of the vehicle. The one man who was thrown into the car by the doorman vomits all over himself and the seat almost immediately upon being thrown into the vehicle. Both men seemed to have been over-served. The one man could barely talk, the man who vomited was unresponsive afterwards. He managed to get them back to the location, only to find out that the two man might not have known each other well or at all. The man who was unresponsive woke up upon reaching the other passengers destination to mumble repeatedly that he wanted to just go home but was too intoxicated to explain where that was. My husband ended up having to leave him there not knowing what else to do for him. Ultimately we had concluded that these patrons were over-served and lime lounge booked the Lyft to dump the problem on someone elses hands. Now my husband has to go the next morning to get our vehicle detailed and cleaned and is out $50, for a $5 fare. He is going to contact this establishment for complaint but I have my doubts that they will reimburse him for this disgusting and negligent situation they threw him into. Ontop of all of this, I am going into the hospital the day after to have an induction to delivery our second child and we need said vehicle to get me there. So we had to get the vehicle detailed immediately and promptly the next day which is the last thing we should have to worry about. In all, if you dont want to go to a place that might throw you into a random vehicle with a complete stranger and send you to a place your unfirmilar with when you decide to over-do drinking for the night or because an establishment doesnt know how to cut someone off before alcohol poisoning, dont go here...

Great place to meet up with friends, the drinks are delicious, the sound system will have you dancing to what ever music they are playing. Patio is perfect with its own bar...

Visited on St.Patricks day, Ive been here before. Hands down best lights and sound in Iowa. Very swank, neat, clean and can be fun for dancing to electronic.

Lauren, is fraaking amazing. What a doll. Love this place. Come on out and enjoy a mojito, or a martini, and or a beer. Thursday nights, come on out to do some salsa dancing.

Cool hangout spot for those of you tryna pop one off after a long week at the 9-5. People are dying to get in. Happy hour beers come with a free shot to the face.

This place smells horrible and its really hot inside, the outside padio is the only nice thing. Some staff (females) are rude & stuck up
