Worst nail job I’ve ever received! I don’t care about the shop looking fancy. I want to leave feeling good about my service. The lady with the pink bleach blond hair was my tech. When removing my gel nail polish she was trying to rush and was being way too aggressive. I let her know that she was burning me with the drill and got an attitude. I asked her to lighten up kindly because I was feeling sensitive. She did not consider and ended up removing too much off my nail bed and it started bleeding. Then when polishing it was sloppy and rushed! I tried to be nice and wait to see if she’ll clean it up… nope. When I mentioned I was not satisfied with the job she blamed having to take of my nail polish for 20 min… I did not know that changing polish was an issue? After washing my hands, as I was walked out I looked at my thumb to see polish was oozing out. I went back in to address it. Once again she gave an attitude and said just dry it again. Then kept being disrespectful talking in her native language in a tone that showed she was irritated. I let her know that I was not pleased and didn’t appreciate being charged $45 for a rushed and unprofessional looking job and wanted my money back or at least a portion. She said here is $9. smh I would not recommend this shop, especially this woman. I see on comments other have had better success with the older techs, but this business will not get my service again. If you see any of my comments on businesses I only give good ratings otherwise I don’t comment. This time though I needed to speak out.
I absolutely loved my entire service. I loved the atmosphere & my manicurist/pedicurist, Natalie. She did an absolute fantastic job. Took her time to ensure I had everything I wanted, consistently checked in with me to see how I liked everything. Honestly, better than I could ever ask for.
Natalie is amazing! She got my nails into shape and does the most amazing dips! I now go back every three weeks and feel so happy while I am at nail stop. They do a great job and they are super friendly!
I went and took my daughter (5) for us both to get our nails painted. Both Natalie and Dustin were so kind and thorough, made the entire experience lovely. It’s going to become a new “mommy daughter” date. Of course their work was lovely too.
The Nail Stop is a Beautiful, Professional, most calming nail salon I’ve ever been to. Sam has been my nail tech for the past 5yrs…He’s the absolute best. I always love my nails & I enjoy the experience every time I go. Thank you The Nail Stop & Sam!
Natalie is AMAZING! The overall staff is professional, pleasant, and does a really good job. The atmosphere is nice and the entire shop is clean and the staff is accommodating. This has been my go-to place for all my nail services and I definitely recommend.
I got my nails destroyed here. I asked for a gel removal, which typically is done by using a drill or file to remove the top layer of gel, then the rest is scraped off after the nails are soaked in acetone.The lady just used a drill and drilled it all off. At multiple points I had to ask her to stop because she was going so deep it was burning my nail bed. I’m lucky I have any nail left at all. It was a bad experience, and my nails are as thin as tissue paper now. I don’t normally write bad reviews, but this was upsetting.
This place is very clean and has a friendly environment. Wonderful pedicure services with many options and great products that are used in applications. Oanh did a fantastic job overall!Will go back again and recommend as well.
Sam is a master at giving pedicures! Highly recommend him and this nail salon. Everyone is very friendly- and you can bring a big group in, have a mimosa or wine and a good laugh.
Nice atmosphere, but everything is a la carte. They neglect to explain the prices until you check out. They do nice work, just ask questions when something is offered.
A friend said, Lets go do manis and pedis together, do did, had champagne and then he said get whatever you want...didnt know what I wanted, because I have my own REVEL dip system that I love. I asked Dustin, who was doing my pedi, and he said you should get gel x. so I did. It was great! I got it March 27th and didnt go to get it redone until May 10th only because it had grown out. The nails looked like the day I got them done...color vivid, no chips and I had done everything from assembling a new bed frame to all kinds of things. Unfortunately, I dont live in Durham. 😢 On May 10th, I attempted to get my 2nd gel x here where I live, Dustin needs to come teach the folks at Solar Nails Huntersville. Dustin... Ill be in Durham soon. Youre the best! Everybody loved my nails you did! Id give 10 stars!(Only drawback...the female nailtech, who was doing my friends, asked us if we were brother and sister and while I was getting the gel x, she proceeded to shoot her shot at him. Very unprofessional. )
I am displeased with the service I received today. I have received pedicures from this shop several times, but I’m not sure that I will be returning.While removing the gel polish from my nails the nail tech cut my toe. I’m not even sure that she realized that she had done so until I pulled my foot away and said, “ouch”. Soon after, she walked away and asked someone else to complete the service. I’m not sure what protocol is for a situation like this, but I am completely unsatisfied.When the guy at the front desk asked me how my service was I explained to him how the lady cut my toe. He, nonchalantly, went on to talk about how the nail tech went to the back to take some medicine and was on a break. He never apologized, he never offered anything for my troubles, he never even invited the lady back out to apologize. He was just concerned about me paying for what I had received.Please take your service to U.S. Nails. They may take a little longer, but they have good customer service.
Save your money and pass on this place. The salon is beautiful and offers a variety of drinks. However, the service is not well done. I paid to get a gel paint on Friday afternoon. Saturday, the gel is peeling at the nail bed and thickly painted. This certainly does not represent a $120 service. Just say no!
Incredibly poor customer service. Reserved an appointment days in advance to see a specific tech. Upon arrival I was set at someone elses table; when I inquired as to why I was set with someone else, I was informed my tech was out for the day. Nobody bothered to mention this and save me the trip out. I opted to follow through with the appointment and was not satisfied with the results. The cashier outright refused to do anything to compensate for my dissatisfaction repeating several times that he could look into the scheduling to see who booked the appointment rather than assuring my satisfaction immediately and taking accountability for failing to notify me prior to my appointment. 2 hours and $208 later, you be the judge....images show jagged edges, poor cuticle trim, sloppy paint and excessive glue and gel beneath new set.Last but not least, the salon frequently smells of seafood seemingly based on employees preparing their lunches.
Sam does my nails and pedicures. He is very professional and always does a great job. He goes above and beyond to make sure his customers are satisfied.
My husband and I went in to get pedicures. We were greeted warmly and didn’t have too long a wait as walkin’s. We also ended up getting our nails done. Both Sam and Dianna were professional and did an excellent job. The atmosphere was airy and comfortable. Thank you Nailstop staff, for your hospitality and service. We will be back!Devin & Susette
I went to get an overlay on 5/4, shop was empty so I’m excited…in and out. The nail tech was friendly and worked fast..happy about that. My birthday is 5/9 and on 5/6 my thumb nail began to lift. By 5/7 it was broken off. I was so unhappy being my bday was 2 days away and I had bypassed the 3 day policy to be fixed. To top the cake…these overlay short nails cost me $65! Never will visit again
I always get nervous about going to a new nail place. Every girl likes her nails done a very specific way and its hard when your out of town and need them done and have to take a chance on a new shop. However, the nailstop did not disappoint me at all! I am so glad I went here. I wanted a different color for every finger so i had an up charge of 10 bucks, but that was expected and totally fine. My nails artist was not super talkative to me and I actually really enjoyed it. I hate having to talk the whole time when someone is doing my nails. Also, if they talk the whole time, they usually dont do a great job on your nails, and she did an amazing job! I went with the colors from the movie, promising young woman and they came out amazing!!! I dont do tips, and one of my nails broke when we were grinding them down, so she fixed it will a tip and you cant even tell the difference. The nails are not super thick and I love it. She really did great! The place is clean and they have a ton of places to sit and space out due to covid. They have barriers up at each station, as well. Anyways, sorry for the long review but, they really are great! And they are affordable! Dip set, 5 different colors upcharge, and 15% tip, I walked out spending 68 dollars total. Love it! Thank yall! I will be back!
I love the nails stop for group events because they serve wine/mixed drinks and have private rooms and a kids section with hello kitty pedicure chairs but they do tend to rush. I’ve been a handful of times now and they always rush my pedicures and others have said this too. Or sometimes they overbook and the nail techs will rush through your service to get to the next person. The owner is very nice and I will still go from time to time but I do wish they took the time especially when you pay $50 for a spa pedicure it should take longer than 30 minutes.
I absolutely love this place!!!! Today I went in for a full set by Natalie who is awesome. Great vibes and the atmosphere is so relaxing. I definitely recommend this salon 100/100!!
My friend and I both went for gel manicures last Friday night. It was the most rushed, and lowest quality manicure I have received. There was no hand lotion/hand massage or hot towel. The man that did my manicure also filed one of my nails too short and I’ve been in pain since, I believe it’s becoming infected. As soon as I got home I realized that the edges of my nails and tips weren’t even painted. My friend that I went with had the same issues with the edges and tips not being painted. By Tuesday one of my nails had completely chipped off. I tried calling to see if they could fit me in to get them redone and every time I called nobody answered. Would not recommend this place to anyone. These photos are from immediately after the manicure.

After moving from NYC I was looking for a place to do my acrylic nails and the NailStop was it! I went in for a filling and everything was done so gently and professionally. They’re also very clean when it comes to their workspace and tools. I highly recommend Long who worked very nicely on my nails. I’m very happy with the out come, thank you so much! The atmosphere started off nice it wasnt busy. They started my nails the shape was great. They rushed through my nails at the painting part. Im so happy I didnt do the ombre, I wouldve been so disappointed. Some spots in my nails werent completely filled. Some nail werent smooth looking but bumpy. On some of my nails you can see the way they were putting on the polish. I think it wouldve came out better if they had took the time.

I’m new to the Durham area and didn’t want to make the hour long drive to my usual salon. The Nail Stop was convenient and able to get me in for an appointment that day. I had been here one time before years ago when they first opened for a basic pedicure. It’s a lovely salon, the ambience is great, and everyone is very nice but from the moment I got there things felt very rushed. They started with my pedicure first but there wasn’t much of a soak to enjoy. The water was cold and before I could ask them to turn it up, they were draining it to begin my pedicure. I hadn’t even gotten my drink from the bar yet ($15 | drink). As usual, I got french tips with gel polish. I’ve never had any issues with gel pedicures chipping or not holding up in the past, even in the summer. Unfortunately, several days after, numerous toenails had already began chipping. Certainly not what I was expecting after paying $60 for just a pedicure. After that they moved on to my manicure. I had tips added (short) and dip polish. Nothing too special, just one simple color. I will say my nails have held up semi well, but they certainly were not worth the $100 I paid for them. There is noticeable differences in the size of nails from one hand to the other, and they were not filed down very well. I actually fixed several nails myself when I got home. Cody was very kind, but it was obvious he felt rushed. While I was still in his chair, he was being told he had other clients coming in and things sped up even faster than before. When it comes to nails, quality over speed always wins in my book. I ended up shoveling out $190 for nails that less than two weeks later need to be redone. Not to mention this is far more than I’ve ever paid to get just a basic mani-pedi, even in NYC and LA. As I said, Cody was very kind and the salon is aesthetically pleasing, but I wouldn’t visit again for anything more than a simple pedicure on a slower weekday.

This was my first visit at this salon! The prices are reasonable and the service was great. They took their time with my pedicure and did a great job I was in and out within an hour including the time it took to do my wax jobs. The salon is clean, has lots of chairs and nail stations and a really nice lounge area. They also have a full bar, that also offers smoothies, coffee, juices, trash, water, and sodas.
Not satisfied at all. They use pressure techniques to try to convince you to get more service than you want. I git chrome gel nail without manicure or pedicure and was charged $85.00.
I don’t like my nails that Dianna did. I’m in LOVE with them. She did an amazing job…She was so gentle doing my nails that I almost went to sleep. Her aura was amazing

Gayle is very good at cuticles. She did an amazing job on mine. The polish was also expertly and evenly applied, which is not easy to do with a dark color.

On my first (and last) visit to this nail shop I was shocked when the lady assigned to me asked me if I wanted to keep my same nail shape, and when I said yes, she said, that shape is coffin, and it will be an extra $10 for the coffin shape. Unbelievable! I never heard anything like that in my life. First of all, they were already in the coffin shape when I walked in. She said every shop is the same. Not true! After 30 years of getting my nails done in California and visiting five different shops in North Carolina, I have never ever had anyone say that there was a charge to shape the nails in any shape, let alone the shape they are already in. Although my feet were in the water for my pedicure, I was ready to walk out. So she talked to the manager, who said she would not charge this time. Appalling! I stayed, and at the end I learned that although I didt have to pay the $10, it will be taken out of the ladys pay who did my nails. I will never return there again for anything. There are far too many nail shops around, and too much competition to treat customers in this manner. Its no wonder that no more than three customers came in during the two hours that I was there. I will never go back. Thats not the way to get return business or referral businee. But maybe they are not interested in either.
My daughter in law and I visited this salon while I was in town for her graduation. We both had the dip powder manicure. I did not get names but the gentleman she had was wonderful. He took his time with her and was personable and her nails looked wonderful. The lady at the front was also very nice and polite. I, however, had a young woman who was much more interested in what was going on on her Apple watch than my nails. She didnt trim my nails, she didnt work with my cuticles, she used a dremel on my nails and at one point was so interested in her watch that she let it slip onto my finger rather than the nail and never even noticed. I am now 5 days from the appointment and my nails are already peeling. I wish I had gotten this womans name. She is a disservice to her salon. I guess since I am not a regular customer she did not care. Be sure to ask for one of the older technicians when you go in. I I were rating for my daughter in law I would give this group a 5, however, if I were rating the woman I had I would rate them a 1.

We visited The Nailstop on a Sunday evening of March 13, 2022 which we was expecting to receive a good relaxing enjoyable experience for my male friend. It was my male friend 3rd time visiting for a pedicure at The Nailstop, they showed us a portfolio fees of services offered, the owner or owners did continue to go up on the price, charging us an extra $15 dollars because they didnt like the appearance of my friend toes or feet.They treated us as if we were ugly with discrimination.We had called ahead to question the prices of a pedicure.The service started out at the basic $35.00 dollars and we were charged an extra $15.00 dollars with a total of $50.00. We then added a 10% tip being that we are kind and giving people ourselves, which The Nailstop was not deserving of, with a final total of $55.00 dollars that we paid.The Nailstop people treated us very poorly, very rudely and very unprofessional.The Nailstop people begin to speak in undertone to each other.They acted as though they was doing us a favor.We will never visit or spend our hard earned money at that place again. The Nailstop.
I came here after some time and the service was really bad. My manicure was rushed and unclean. The staff was mixed. The real issue comes from management. Since there is poor communication, staff was bothered. When I asked if I could sit next to my friend, the nail tech down right said No with no hesitation. I brushed it off but he continued to be rude. My friends nails had dents in them and she was treated so horribly. I supported this business before but will NEVER come here again. I know quality and Nail Stop does not care about quality or comfort for their customers. Dont waste your time and money.
Went on 9/27 ask for acrylic powder with gel polish and I got gel powder with gel polish. I prefer acrylic seems to last longer with my nail bed. I was overcharged for a service i didnt ask for bc Lisa didnt understand my request. Its 9/30 and three of my nails are already lifting. The gel is uneven and not pleasant looking at all. After seating for two hours i just decided to leave and never come back. First and last time going here. Great customer service and nice facility but horrible quality. Really wish i read the reviews first!!! 👿👿👿👿

The people are nice and welcoming, however the man that did my nails was super fast and not good at all. I paid for gel polish but received regular polish. I also sat under the dryer for about 30 mins and my nails still werent dry and smudged twice before I got to my truck. Then the very next morning my ring fingernail broke.
So I was really enjoying myself until I got to my pedicure. The lady who did my fill in was good and little pushy but she was very thorough. My pedicure was so rushed and not thorough at all. I paid for a jelly pedicure to get callus removed and trust I’ve received enough pedicure to know when steps are being skipped and she skipped many! My feet didn’t not feel clean let alone free of all dead skin! I have tried them before and the experience was bad. Second time was not so hot either. I will not try them again. Very disappointing considering this pedi cost me $50!!!! The ambiance is amazing and they are open on sundays but that’s as far as the greatness goes!!
This place is by far the WORST NAIL salon in Durham! Sanitation and cleanliness is most definitely not a priority. Walked in was greeted by a nice man. Got to front desk and lady did not speak English (no problem) however I have questions. So another lady who actually did my pedicure greets the people in English who walks in behind me. 🤔 i politely asked if she could help me. Which she did. I tried talking to her but she ignored me. Never offered me anything to drink, never asked me how I like my nails…NOTHING. Water was cool so I had to ask twice if she could warm it up. Pedicure took 28 mins! Super rushed after I declined a manicure. Once done did not say thank you, do you like, let’s dry your toes…nothing. Basically I WILL NEVER COME BACK!!! Place should be shut down.
So many positives about this place and one major negative. Love the atmosphere, staff is friendly, and prices are on par with the area. The bar is fantastic. Margaritas, Cappuccinos, wine, beer, they got it all and they are all decent. Sadly, after our last visit my husband and I have decided to look elsewhere. I want a pedicure that is relaxing and spa like. They are only interested in getting you done quickly. No joke when I say my feet where in hot water for a total of 5 minutes. If you are looking to get in and out with a decent pedicure, they got you in spades but if you are looking for some nice girls/couples time, I suggest elsewhere.
I went to Nailstop on Fri. 10/7/22 because I had a gift card. Requested pedicure and gel polish on finger nails. Worst gel polish job ever. Technician used sanding tool so much on my nails that she literally destroyed my strong nails to the point they would bend when I attempted to pick up or touch just about anything. Had to return to shop the very next day because gel had chipped on my thumb. Mgr. fixed it but it did not correct the damage done to ny nailbed. By Sunday, 2 nails had folded and were broken up in the top of the nail.Long story, kind of short...had to go to my normal shop (Posh Nail) on Tuesday to have gel removed and dipping powder put on nails to keep the other nails from breaking. Total of $88.00 spent at Nailstop and then $46.00 for dipping powder at my normal spot. Total disaster at Nailstop...beware of this shop.
I had a lovely experience today. It was a long wait but I just walked in. They put me in a chair where I enjoyed the different massage features, soaked me feet and relaxed. The gentleman who did my pedicure was even kind enough to let me change my color after he applied the first coat. This my second or third time her and Ill definitely be coming back.
They are friendly folks. Its a nice looking salon and they offer a full bar which is unique. It isnt relaxing though. The whole atmosphere is extremely rushed. My nails were not done well. Uneven tips, edges not all the way painted, top coat discolored and has started to come off. The nail tech even took it upon himself to try and switch me to gel. Even conveniently matched it to the REGULAR color that was handed to him by the front desk lady. Who also clearly communicated what I asked for was a cut down, fill in and regular color change...twice. Weird upsell tactic, not a fan. Mixed with their prices, Im assuming to keep Patrón stocked, Im good on this place.
I took my four year old here once before for nail polish and a pedi. I know the price was $30 some dollars we went today and I was charged $60 I could see paying that for an adult but not for a 4 year old. She likes to come here because they have the kiddie pedi chair.
Beautiful atmosphere and it seems they go the distance to make you comfortable during your visit. However, my main purpose of going here was to get a great pedicure. I got a pedicure but most certainly less than a mediocre one. All of my cuticles were not cut down during the appointment - I was sitting at the nail drying station picking dead skin off my toes. The technician rushed the entire appointment. I did not feel valued during my visit. After only one week of wearing the polish on my toes it has started chipping and wearing off. This has never happened before. I can typically go 4-6 weeks with the same polish and never have an issue about needing to change my polish. The prices reflect somewhere that would spend time on your feet and pay extra attention. Ill be finding somewhere else for my future pedicures.
As a walk-in, I’ve never had to wait more than a few minutes. Their prices are very reasonable. The place is cute on the inside and they always have TVs running, which is nice.They do have a bar, but I’ve never ordered a drink there, so I can’t comment on that.I took my five year old son with me one time and he was perfectly content playing on the iPad. They had a couch he could sit on which was close to me, which was nice.The staff has always been friendly.
So I was referred to this nail salon by a friend. When I walked in it was one of the best nail salons I have ever seen. It was beautiful and I was excited to get serviced. I was the first client in the salon walking in at 9 AM sharp. They jump right to me and got my water running for the pedicure and were very friendly but did a horrible job. They rushed my entire service my feet looks as if I was coming to get them done as I was leaving. I had Ombré on my nails prior to coming and which no one at that salon was able to do so I had to choose something different and simple. I chose a basic color and got S&S They switch me around to three different nail techs because the first and the second one did not know how to do it. So I got stuck with someone else who may be just learned how to do it. I spent $140 for a pedicure with regular polish and SNS nails. I got my nails done on Sunday here it is Tuesday and I have two broken nails because the SNS was applied so thinly. That is highly expensive for a horrible job. Nice salon need better technicians that care about the guest and not just the money. I will go here for a drink again but never to get serviced.
I am giving The Nailstop 3 stars because I had a mixed experience during my visit. First of all, the staff is very friendly. They make you feel welcomed from the moment you step inside. I had my daughter, who is 7, with me. They had a kids section and was quick to accommodate her while I was receiving service.My older daughter frequents their business and always seems to be satisfied with the service they provide. That is what encouraged me to pay them a visit. The disappointment was in the quality of service I received. I didnt feel that I received a proper mani/pedi, especially for the money I paid for the service. In addition to the poor quality of service, it took forever to get through the process.Seeing the service they provide to my daughters has convinced me to give them a second try. Everyone has an off day from time to time. Perhaps that was one of those days for the person providing service to me at that time. #JustBecause
Today I scheduled an appointment with Long. He is awesome. He was very patient with me and my ‘special’ needs at a prior visit. So I plan to see him again in the weeks to come.The facility was clean, welcoming, and they wear mask and provide sanitizer when you come in the door. They also ensure you are a safe distance from other customers. I truly felt safe in their care for my day of self care☺️
Great Mommy Time experience! I brought my son and it was amazing! They have a kids play area which all mothers know is vital to a relaxing time. I was able to relax and enjoy Mommy time while he played with cars in the Kid Zone. The staff were extremely friendly and they have a wide variety of colors and gel polish. Definitely coming back! Appointment for next month already booked!
Felt very rushed to get out of my pedicure chair by the cleaning staff. I was rudely told to get out of my chair right now , literally 2 minutes after my pedicure was done. I was sitting next to my friend who was getting her last foot painted...they couldnt have waited a few more minutes for us to leave together ? I did get good results from my pedicure. But I was expecting a cheaper price ...they have hidden fees they dont tell you about, like removing nail regular polish. My $40 gel pedicure ended up costing $55 before tip.
VERY disappointed in the service of this place. I called ahead and was told to come 30 minutes before closing if I wanted to be helped, by a man with a very condescending tone and disrespectful attitude. The nail tech who did my pedicure asked me if I wanted gel or regular and literally stated the prices as $20 for gel and nothing for regular. She barely spoke English which is absolutely fine unless you cannot accurately communicate the prices of your business. She did NOT tell me that the $20 gel was an additional price on top of the $35 starting fee. When I went to the desk to pay and saw that my check was over $60 I was horrified and immediately started asking questions. The man at the desk (the same one I spoke to on the phone) was EXTREMELY rude and didnt care that his employee had failed in her job, he just wanted my money. When an establishment does not do their job correctly, it is up to them to make it up to the customer and apologize for their poor service. I expected to have at least a discount or free pedi. While checking out I momentarily lost my card (forgot it was in my pocket), and during my search for it the man at the desk actually threatened to have the police called on me! I am a young brown woman and this was a VERY racially motivated situation, I was not treated with respect at all. Keep in mind I found my card within 5 minutes and I was STILL grossly overcharged. Pedicure wasnt even nice, and I wont be giving my service anywhere that is both mediocre AND racist!
I came here very excited and left beyond disappointed. It’s a beautiful place with a nice bar, but I paid $50+ for the worst pedicure I’ve ever received. I picked a more expensive pedicure service, looking forward to some extra attention but the technician did not massage my feet whatsoever. Her painting was so sloppy I ended up with nail polish all over my skin. I’m not one to complain usually, but I felt I needed to considering how much I was spending. The manager did not seem to care one bit. He did not apologize or try to compensate me in anyway... absolutely horrible costumer service!
My gel polish manicure has been done for two weeks and not a chip in sight!!! I am super hard on my nails because of the work I do and I am genuinely shocked at how well this manicure is holding up. Place is HUGE and doesnt kill you with fumes. Wonderful selection of colors, and honest people who didnt recommend what would bring them more money. My manicurist could brush up on her English, but who really cares if your nails look fabulous!
MY PEDICURE SUCKED! Im a barber by trade and I know what quality service and attention to detail is. I didnt receive attention to detail here. My toenails were cut jagged and toe jajam was left under my nails. I came to get my toenails trimmed and clean. Everything else is extra. Hopefully I can add a photo to share with you all what the finished product looked like.The staff was friendly and the environment was clean. After I voiced my disappointment the manager asked the staff member to redo my foot but trust me it was another lack luster attempt. She basically rushed through it again and still left my toenails jagged and dirty.I WAS STILL ASKED TO PAY $50. I think a compromise of $25 was noble but not here. Still had to pay the $50.
Tony was absolutely AMAZING! I had an acrylic fill in with gel polish as I was out of town. I cannot say enough positive things about the quality, kindness, and wonderful color selection and brand DND polish is the best. Thank you for making my nails look amazing! Definitely highly recommend!
The interior is very nice, but the service is lacking. I gave this place a try three separate times for pedicures and had different technicians each time. My cuticles werent cut, no filing, and the massage part of the pedicure was basically the technician just touching my feet with no pressure even when I asked for more pressure at my second and third visit.
Horrible customer service!!! I came here to get a powder dip manicure and asked the technician to help me find a certain color. She asked me to go find it myself. I asked her to cut the cuticle and she said that is will cost an extra $5. I was also charged $5 for having regular nail polished removed. I have never heard of a nail salon charging for polish remover. This was my first and definitely last time coming to this salon. I wish I read the reviews prior to coming here as poor customer service seems to be definitely a common theme.
I took my bridesmaids here in July, the day before my wedding. The atmosphere is very relaxing and pretty. The manager took a group pictures for us. We ordered drinks, etc. They seemed to keep an eye on us as if they had to make sure we did not leave without paying for drinks. I think the services are slightly overpriced for the amount of time spent on each customer. I dont think I will do business here again.

Purchased a Groupon for a pedicure and got my nails painted. The atmosphere was great, however the service was not. It was rushed lasted about 10 minutes and the tech did not file my nails down. They werent smooth and had nail clippings still on them. When I asked the tech to apply another coat of polish, she seemed annoyed. Similar to the other post, when I said I had a Groupon their demeanor changed and so did my service.
If I could leave a lower score I would. I went with a small bridal party and they were extremely rude the entire time. We all got both Manicures and pedicures and were finished in well under an hour. My tech was continuously pushing and insisting for me to use gel but I had informed her multiple times that the brides family was treating us but she did not drop it. I had to ask her to clean up the Polish she left on my skin and around the nails and her response was well you get what you pay for. My two year old niece couldve done a better job especially for that price. I will never be back and telling everyone I know to avoid at all costs.
I really enjoyed this salon. Everything is so clean and the people are really nice. I messed up my nail right after I left and they fixed it without making me feel bad about it. I enjoyed having a mixed drink while I relaxed. There is a limited selection, but its perfect for this kind of environment.
The salon itself is so pretty, relaxing and even has an adorable section for kids! My pedicure and manicure however were horrible. One day later and my gel polish has already chipped off of many nails and my toes look like I did them myself. My nail tech left polish on my skin and chips on the top of my nail. I dont think Ill be going back.
Fantastic service in a beautiful and relaxing environment. Customer service is top notch and every nail tech is highly trained. Ive been to many nail salons and this is by the far the best. Having a separate area for kids and men makes for a quiet visit. Bring a friend and relax with a drink while getting a pedicure.
Best nail salon in the triangle! Clean salon, outstanding customer service and a luxurious experience. Offer much more than a regular nail salon and prices are very reasonable. The atmosphere is outstanding and the technicians are always quick to listen and provide exactly what Im looking for. Also, have never once waited-always have someone available to take me as soon as I walk through the door! Highly recommend!
On yesterday I went in to get a gel manicure. I have been to this place before and had a really good experience which made me want to go back. But on this day I had a technician had never let do my nails before. Everything was ok until it came time for her to paint my nails. She rushed to paint them and used way to much Polish witch made my nails have a bumpy look and you could still see my real nails not all the way covered. Also there was something stuck on my nail and I asked her to remove it before she continued but instead she painted over it with more paint. I was over it at that point and told the manager. She was apologetic but still said that everyone has their own techniques. In my eyes this should not be expected for the price that they charge there should be a standard and nothing less should be allowed to walk out that shop. I paid and left but the more I looked at my hands the more upset I became so I went back and the manager said she would get someone else to fix my nails which this should have been offered to me before I even walked out the first time dissatisfied. She sent a man over to help me and once he new what the issue was he didnt want to do my nails the manager then came over and said that he didnt feel comfortable because it seems that I was being picky he would rather someone else help me. That comment for her to repeat to me was highly unprofessional to say to a customer and she also laughed. I then told her me paying as much as I paid and walking out with something that was not to the standard that had been set at my previous visit is not me being picky. The out come was that a nice young lady did my nails and did a awesome job I still will not be coming back.
First time at The Nail Stop, and I love it !!! The service was prompt and professional. I love that they have a full bar ! And shared nice small talk. The setting is very clean, colorful, and welcoming. I will definitely be coming back !
I wish I read the reviews before I went. Way over priced for an inadequate pedicure. The lady who did my pedicure was very nice, but she seemed worried about being too rough, and hardly removed any of the calluses on my feet, even when I asked her to scrub them again. My feel feel like sandpaper an hour after paying too much for this. I had to ask four times to get a thick nail filed down and then she really did not know how to do this.
The shop is beautiful but the nail service is okay. You’re charged for parts of the service that are included usually at shops. I had to ask to have my nails reshaped & my nails were not cleaned underneath either. My nails were not completely dry at the end of the service. I wouldn’t come back unless unnecessary.
My first time here for a pedicure and the atmosphere and staff were very nice! However, my toes look like a child painted them. I had paint on the sides and bottom of my toes. I have no clue how she got it on the bottom. I requested a design on my big toe and again, it was like a child. I didnt want to hurt anyones feelings. so I paid and left. Last time I go here.
It could have been great, but they made me pay while my nails were still wet. I asked 3 times if I could wait until they were dry, but she wouldnt let me. Of course my nails got messed up pulling my credit card out of the slot. Could have just been her and not the norm to have to pay with wet nails.
I have visited this salon a couple of times and loved their chairs. Service was also great. On my thrid visit, to solidify them as my new salon, I was treated poorly. The shop owner was short and snippy with me and my requests. She began by rapid firing retorical questions at me in an effort to be mean and nasty. She only stopped when I made a face at her. She continued to be rude as I made additonal requests on purpose. Considering they are a full salon with a stocked bar I would expect much better customer service, especially with the prices. I see most reviews are either great or poor and the owner seems to be the common factor in many of the complaints I have seen.
This is definitely my new place of peace! The atmosphere is absolutely amazing! Everyone is dressed in uniform and has a very professional attitude. Very very spacious! Everything is absolutely amazing! Highly recommend for bridal parties as well or a girls night !
My nails are super thin and constantly breaking from over washing and antibacterial. I went in to get tips and a gel manicure. I was told due to Covid they couldn’t do gel because they couldn’t sanitize the UV dryer so I had to get SNS but there wasn’t a price difference. I don’t understand how the SNS is sanitary since everyone dips their fingers in the same powder but I went with it. I don’t think the tech knew what he was doing. He dipped my nails a total of 5 times and on a few nails 6 because it would break off when he buffed. He cut me 3 times attempting to cut my cuticles with the sanding machine rather than clippers. The SNS doesn’t even cover my whole nail and it is SO THICK. I asked for a nude/light pink color and they are bright pink. He charged me $40 and said I was getting a big discount because he took so long (1 hr 40 min). I’ll never go back.
Got a pedicure done and they were very friendly, kept me and my friends laughing Hut the next day I came in for a full set and their associates told me three different prices for a full set, then charged an extra $10 for a shape that didn’t turn out they way I wanted and when I mentioned it she got mad got her manager and the manager came with an even worse attitude and cut my nails down and told me to go to another shop
I absolutely hated this place and will never go back. Not only was the customer service awful, but the job was as well. When I pointed out to the technician that my nail looked pressed on crooked, she got defensive and asked if I wanted someone else, then continued to point out to me how it no longer looked crooked because she fixed it. My nails ended up looking awful and I took them off in a few days. I was tempted to not pay when I left.
I have waited to write this review until Ive been a couple of times. The first time I went, I got a basic pedicure with a girlfriend and the experience was average, nothing to write home about, but not horrible. The second time I went was for SNS for my birthday. I rarely ever get my nails done because of my job, so when I do, I expect them to be worth the money. I got the SNS with tips because my real nails are super short. It was exactly one week before one of the tips came off and took all the paint with it. I went in and had them fix it and the lady who fixed it was talking about how the first technician did a horrible job. How the paint was uneven and how it was rushed. I have only been there twice, the repair being the third, so I didnt remember to take a pic of the color I used, rookie mistake. I was then told why wouldnt you take a picture, thats not smart to which I replied: well sir, I expected this color to last me at least 3 weeks and then I would come back for a different one. The attitude of the employee changed after that.It is a really odd atmosphere to begin with. The manager hovers over his employees without speaking to the customer, which is awkward. He is also rude and thinks his s*** doesn’t stink just because he is wearing a suit and has the title of “manager”. He was only responsive/nice/helpful to a woman who was dressed very nicely in a tight dress and heels and drove up with her spouse in a very nice car. The female technicians, with the exception of Chica, are silent the whole time and dont listen to your requests. I need short nails for work, they were still long after me asking her to make them shorter. The paint is uneven and a second nail is loose, which is what made me want to write this review. Also, if you’re looking for a “manicure” with your service, you’re not going to get it. No cuticle clean up, no hand massage. Just nails and some oil at the very end.In conclusion, people who want to pamper themselves and are willing to pay the high prices at Nail Stop, should get what they are paying for. Unfortunately in my experience that isnt the case, so I will not be going back. $50 before tip for nails that only last a week? No thanks.
Terrible service. My nails and feet were rushed and done incorrectly. I constantly had to say something about the way the man was doing my nails because of how disorganized and unprofessional he was being. I payed for gel on my nails which is supposed to last around 2 weeks and rarely chip if done correctly. Three days after I received services from this nail salon my nail polish had already begun to come off and chip.....Im extremely dissatisfied and do not recommend this nail salon. I will not be returning nor recommending their service.
I’m disappointed with this place. I bring my daughter here because they have a nice pedicure area for kids but we won’t be back. They rushed on my daughter’s pedicure like was literally done in 6 mins. Secondly, she wanted to play in the play area but one of the male employees sat at the small table the whole time eating and blocking her from grabbing any toys. When time to pay nobody came to the counter I had to say “ helloooo can somebody come up here”. They have my time to socialize with one another than the customer or provide the best service. Idk why I’m under my moms Google but y’all get the point. Highly disappointed.
Its a very inviting environment. Very clean. When I was getting my nails dryed I heard the manager going back and forth with an unhappy customer. I didnt think anything of it because I had a great experience with Quinn. I planned on going to her every month from then on..I felt like I had finally found a salon that was right for me! So I made an appointment yesterday with her through the guy that works there. He said that shed be in at 11. I was running 10 minutes late, so I called them to let them know. No one answered. However, once I got there, I let them know that I had an appointment at 11. The manager was rude and said, Quinn isnt here until 12. I let her know again that I had an appointment and then she told me that it was 11:10 as if I was wrong. She didnt apologize for her employee for being late or anything. The guy who I initially made the appointment with was just standing there. So I let him know that I made the appointment with him and it would have been appreciated if I had gotten a call since I drove across the city to go there. She then butted in and said that she didnt have my number when I clearly gave it when I made the appointment. She just smiled the whole time unbothered that I was an unhappy customer. She then said that she could give me a call to let me know when Quinn was there..I said okay but I thought to myself, I thought you didnt have my number then walked out and went to another salon where I got great service. Nonetheless, I will not be going back to The NailStop.
Very nice, chic salon; however, the service was very rushed and all done before I really had time to relax. Also, the polish was only a very thin coat with some spots where you could still see the nail underneath.
Not the nailstop it was. New ownership has changed this completely. Pedicure was only 20 minutes and not the realizing experience or length with massage it used to be. Horrible felt pressure to upgrade to more expensive pedi and when I said no got a look ordered coffee and handed Bill immediately. Tried to have a nice experience time with friend like it used to be and we were interrupted over and over. I used to drive from Raleigh to go to this place but would never again
I wouldn’t recommend this place even if my life depended on it! Please take heed to these reviews! I ignored the reviews and thought I’d see for myself and I must say like everyone else.. HORRIBLE service!! Two of my nails broke the SAME week I got them! Not to mention I got the UV gel nails which supposedly lasts longer than any other nails, but also cost me $55! I came back to have those two nails fixed that same week and that again was a huge mistake! The nail tech could not find my same nail color and I was forced to end up changing my nail color all together. While taking the color off of my nails, the nail tech tried to throw in that my two nail repairs and color change would cost me $20 as if she was doing me a favor! $5 for each nail repair and a $10 color change! ABSOLUTELY not!! The matter of not finding my same nail color was out of my hands! Why should I be charged an extra $10 when I never wanted to change my nail color anyway?? It’s not my problem you misplaced the color. I refused to pay unless they came down on the price. The nail tech mumbled OMG and even huffed and puffed like the big bad wolf! Too damn bad!! Luckily, I did not flip out like I really wanted to! If you come by this place KEEP DRIVING unless you want to waste your money!!
TERRIBLE! Paid $65 for a set of gel nails and it looked like they had already been grown out for a week. Went to another place to get them fixed and he said thats the worse hes ever seen. They were crooked and the woman doing my nails didnt even talk to me. She also kept stopping to text and read her texts. Will never go back.
I went for the first time to get SNS. I was not happy. The technician that did my nails was very nice it just seemed as though SNS was something that she was doing for the first time. It was as if she was not confident in her work. I guess I should have gotten up sooner but I am not the rude type. The ambiance of the nail shop was very inviting but the product I was given was not good at all. I feel as though my nails are gonna break any minute. They are a lot on the expensive side too! I normally pay $40 for SNS. I miss my Tina!!
This is the second time within less than 24 hours my daughters polish started chipping. Unacceptable for a $35 child’s mani and pedi.
Very expensive! No people skills. First time there and she said well it would have been cheaper if you got a manicure, it would have been nice to know that ahead of time. There is no where that list services and prices.Im super upset because the places looks amazing but just terrible pricing and customer service.Only plus side is it has a bar. I guess so you dont realize how much money you are spending.
The job they do is not worth the price. I hated the way they did my nails. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. The lady doing my nails got acrylic on the edges of my fingers which caused pain afterwards. The staff was extremely rude. They did everything rushed and didn’t care about my opinion throughout the process. I would never go back again !! Also, everything is overpriced, I’ve gotten a better service in other places for a better price. 🤬
A couple of things to preface this bad review: my initial horror show of a gel manicure was done in Moldova, through no fault of The Nail Stop. However, the nail tech (Asian male) who removed the polish didnt remove it properly, and instead just painted gel polish over it and sealed it. I should have trusted my gut when I saw there was still old polish underneath, but he brushed it off as the discoloring of my nails. Fast forward to 2 weeks later, when another very sweet tech is removing my gel polish, and comments that the last tech didnt take it off properly. She then proceeds to scrape it off, removing several layers of nail. I asked if I should still get the gel manicure, and she said that yes, it would help. My mistake, because its been 2 days and my thumb nail has raggedly ripped off. This was after reassurances and a 2nd visit to fix the nail that was starting to tear off. Im so upset that I trusted this place, and I regret getting into the gel polish at all. Insanity would be doing the same thing again and having a different result, so Ill be going to a different nail salon to have the gels removed once and for all. The people here are very nice, but I dont trust them to give good advice about nails. After all, they are a business, and would rather get me to pay for another gel manicure rather than tell me the truth, which was that my nails needed a break (either a regular mani or using nail strengtheners, which I asked about, and the tech brushed me off). Please be careful when getting gel manicures, especially getting them removed.
Worst pedicure ever ......if you guys dont want to provide good service for the people who come with a group on coupon, why do you offer a coupon . Me and two of my friends purchased a group on coupon and went to the Nail STOP and we ( all three of us ) have experienced the same . They completed the pedicure in 5-8 minutes and we observed the same lady doing a proper massage to other female. I WILL NOT RECOMMEND NAIL STOP TO ANYONE 😡
When I first went to the Nailstop I was amazed at the atmosphere and the customer service. The last few times I went I was disappointed. I always get an acrylic fill in with gel polish. The past two nail techs I had didnt go completely to the base of my nail so after a few days it looked like I needed a fill in again, there are bubbles in my nails, and more paint chipping. They use to put a hot wrap on the back of your neck and the last two times they didnt. I will try out the place one more time.
I did not like my experience. Out of my group of 3, I was last to start and first to finish. I had a groupon, so I’m guessing that’s why my pedicure was only about 12 minutes long. The customer service is very bad. My sister accidentally bumped her toe, so she asked if she could get it fixed. The lady said “ugh” but fixed it.
My 4th visit and its always a pleasure and the service is fast. The nail shop is big with No wait time. You will not be disappointed. The staff is super nice. I am going to make the nail shop my new place of business for getting my nails done.
The pedicure could have been more thorough. I purchased the lavender. It costs $50 and I still have callous on the side of my big toe. Next time Ill do the basic. Drinks were awesome. Bao did my acrylic fill-in and she was fabulous. I love that they can match your toes to the gel polish on your fingers.
Yesterday I was very disappointed in the service I received I had very high expectations from reading the review before going. The lady was very rude. If I knew her name I would put it on here. I had my previous nails removed. I didnt not want my nails cut all the way down. To get my new set. As she was cutting my nails she begin to bleed due to trying to take my nails off. She stopped to get a bandaid but she did not wash her hands at all. Which is very unsanitary. Half way completing my nails she stated she couldnt work with the bandaid and took it off. By then I was very turned off of even wanting to get my nails done. She stated it was my fault that I did not telling her I didnt want an overlay instead of tips and I could have saved her some time and not getting her finger bleeding. As I was answering the question she stated I understand in a nasty attutide. She act like she did not want to explain the difference between my questions of an overlay and adding tips to nails. She was rushing due to the fact they closed at 6. Honestly for 75$ worth of service that did not leave a good taste in my mouth about coming back. As I was leaving she asked me how would I be paying and I said card and she got it out my wallet then asked if the cash that was in my wallet was for her her tip. That is very unprofessional and I tipped because I received a service. Honestly, I didnt want to tip because I was very unhappy with the service I received. I didnt even want my eyebrows wax which I had planned on getting because she was so pressed to get finished with my nails. Worse experience I have ever had getting my nails done. You could tell she was annoyed by me and due to her body language I could tell she was talking under her breath and bad about me because when the other nail tech next to me got up she still talked under her breath in a different language.
Every one here is so nice and kind and they do such a great job. This has been my go to nail salon for months now and I love it! Susie is my favorite nail tech. She barely knows English but somehow always understands when you have a concern. Very intuitive and caring.
Pricey but I always have a great time when I go. Everyone is so funny friendly. I usually only get a pedicure but decided on a manicure and was very pleased. Decorations are too cute. I’d take everyone here for the experience. Thank you Nail Stop!!!!
So I went on a today, 8/11/21, which was a Wednesday morning. The hours on the door say they open at 9, but it’s 9:07 and it’s closed. I was standing at the door waiting and the woman with the bleached blond hair came up to the lock box, didn’t address me at all; she couldn’t get into the box and called someone. She finally got in the lockbox, opened the door and went inside. Never once addressed me, never apologized, nothing. I immediately left and went to LV Nails across the street and will never go there again. I will not give my hard earned money to a business that allowed that kind of disrespect to a customer.
I purchased a Groupon for a jelly spa pedicure. I sat for 30 minutes with my feet in water that of course got cold waiting for a nail technician to start. When I asked one of the women who worked there how much longer would the wait be, she apologized stating she didnt understand because she didnt speak any English and walked off. From start to finish my pedicure took all of 8-10 minutes and I felt very rushed. No one showed me where to let my polish dry until after I asked. The lady at the counter assumed I was ready to just put my shoes on and walk out of the door. I was then overcharged for my daughter who got a pedicure as well, but then refunded the amount once I pointed out the error. Overall its a BEAUTIFUL place and its nice that they serve drinks, but I think its very overpriced for the services and the quality just isnt there. I probably wont be returning.
TERRIBLE. My friend and I used Groupons and our pedicures were less than 30 minutes. The regular rate of the Jelly Pedicure is $38 and is not their lowest priced pedicure. Once the employees found out we were using a Groupon, they gave horrible service and treated us like a waste of their time. I would have tipped them based on the regular rate of $38, but gave them less than. We will never return to this business. I was really hoping this would be my new favorite place!Tip: Dont put out a Groupon if you are going to give your customers less than standard service.
I love the location of Nailstop, on 751, right off 54, not to far from I40 (exit 274 Jordan Lake I believe), about 8 mins from Southpoint mall, and is in the plaza with wingstop. I love the fact I can have a good pedi with a glass of moscato (yes, they serve wine and have a drink menu for you!). They have chrome, s&n (I think thats what the powder is called), jewels, the decorative paper for designs (IDK what its actually called but I had them do it to one of my nails and really liked it) all of the above and do great designs, they also do eyebrows and lashes, have a ton of stations and staff so even when its busy its relatively quick, they even have a private room to rent out for like a bridal party or something of the sort to have a girls spa day (which I think is pretty cool) however this location is hit or miss when it comes to customer service. Some times I went they were accommodating and very friendly, others they were be very short and unfavorable. The last time I was here the guy had an attitude and it just wasnt a welcoming vibe that day so I havent been in some time.
I’ve always had good experiences here. I love that they have a bar, and I just enjoy the atmosphere - a step above most other places I’ve been in the area. They’re not cheap by any means but honestly aren’t much if any more expensive than other nail salons that aren’t nearly as cute.
I WILL NEVER GO HERE AGAIN! If you use a Groupon...BEWAREI entered the salon and was seated for a pedicure. Customer Service was great until I was asked what kind of pedicure was I getting. I told the tech I was getting the special because I purchased a Groupon. The tech(Who was an older man) looked at me and huffed and it went downhill from there. My pedicure was the worst. The bad part is, he even knew he gave me a bad pedicure. I WILL NOT BE RETURNING. Please note, this was not my first visit. I have been to this salon many times without a Groupon. I dont mind spending to pamper myself. I saw the Groupon and purchased 2 (one for me and one for husband). It was wasted money and I am even more upset that I am treated differently because I had a Groupon. Why offer the savings if you plan to treat your customers differently.
Went for the first time. At first appearance it looked like a nice spot. After my nails were done I will never go back. SNS thick and uneven. Topped with gel polish that bubbled. Tried to upsell me the whole time made for an uncomfortable experience. Telling me how my nails are in bad shape, SNS will make them better (I had SNS that they removed). Oh and being forced to listen to Christian music for majority of the time was not cool. Will not go back or recommend.
2019s biggest regret.You can tell they have sold to other owners. The nail shaping was horrible. They did not buff or shape the nail. My polish was runied after a shower and the paint was uneven. Management was not helpful and this pedicure was the worst I have ever had. I will be back in for my refund.
The lady who did my feet was pleasant but I dont think it was a thorough pedicure. Seemed very rushed to me compared to the others that I have gotten. Apart from that its a clean environment and looks very organized.
Crazy high prices with mediocre results. For gel mani/regular pedi + tip was $100! They put a drink menu in front of me with prices so I declined; no one told me that if I had done a service more than $50 a drink was free—very deceiving!
This was literally the worst experience I have had at a nail salon. I’ve never felt the need to write a poor review. Typically, I just don’t return if I don’t like a place, but it was that bad. The nail polish rubbed off with a finger after being on for about an hr. They did a mani pedi in 20 min. Please explain how? And no, they did not do them simultaneously. They didn’t even use lotion or do a massage. I reported this to the manager and he laughed and said, “sure they did!” Just save yourself time and money and steer clear. Go literally anywhere else!
Customer service and loyalty to clients is if no concern to these folks. Tried to use a gift certificate that was purchased 12/21/17 and the date I called was 6/25/2018. True to their policy, certificate is void 6 months after purchase. Four days was of no concern to him. Even when I said that my entire family goes there regularly and they would go elsewhere if this is the kind of customer service offered, he said that’s their choice and he can’t bend the rules for one customer and that I should go to the website and read the rules. So I am taking to the web as suggested and letting folks know you are not valued as a person or customer, you are simply an entity that must fit their “rule.” Even when I asked if he was willing to deprive his manicurist a tip for a service that was already paid for he said it’s the policy. Even when I asked if he was willing to lose four regular clients for four simple days he said, it’s policy.
The worst nails Ive ever had. They looked fine when I left but in less than a week, my GEL polish began to peel off. Ive never had that happen. My daughter had a fill in and a repair. Her repair was done shorter than her other nails, and instead fixing it he insisted on making it skinnier so no one would notice . My youngest twin had her acrylics soaked off. They did not soak her nails at all. He peeled them using another nail. She left with acrylic still on her nails. I would not recommend this location to anyone.
Just got a mani-pedi here and I already know Ill be back. This place is great! Ashley did my nails perfectly. She was fast and friendly. The drinks here are great too, I had a bannana smoothie. The whole place looks clean and inviting, its very easy to relax.
I was able to get in and out quickly. Polish could look a little better around a few of my edges, but the nails are filed and shaped nicely. Also, the nails are thin and natural as I like them to look. A bit pricey though...40.00 for fill ,gel polish and cut down.
This place is very pretty and girly inside and they have a full size bar for whatever type of drink youd like, but they are OVERPRICED!When I came in they asked me what type of service Id like, I said pedicure. They said okay, choose a color. I chose a color and thought I was getting an average pedicure, only to find out, they charged me more than what I expected because I chose the opi shine nail polish.... There were no signs that mentioned that those colors are extra..Smh. On another note, I chose the pedicure that they put this powdery solution in the water and it turns it into gel and at the end of the pedicure they put more in and it turned back to water! That trick was kind of mind blowing....But I wont ever be going back there. They cost too much for services that everyone is offering and they didnt even scrub my feet good...:/
Just moved to Durham and stumbled upon the Nail Stop - this place is fantastic! Has a fully stocked bar, many chairs, a sparkling clean facility, and so many colors to choose from. This place is a little pricier than other nail salons I have visited in the past, but the quality is worth the few extra dollars. Definitely recommend booking an appointment with Yaya - she is patient, kind, and her mani/pedi have lasted a week with no chips so far!
Love this place. The only nail place that Ive found that has a full bar! They do great work and even offer dipping services (SNS). I was disappointed to learn that no one here has the ability to complete any type of French manicure design on nails with the gel powder. 🤷♀️🏿But still -- would highly recommend for all other services.Update: this place is STILL amazing - highly recommend
The worst experience of my life. I was indecisive on my toe color and I seen that the woman doing my toes was irritated. I asked her could she find me a cute pink color similar to my friend nails (she was sitting beside me) and she said cant she go get it referring to my friend who was holding a 5 month old baby. I then asked her can u please find it because she has a baby in her hand and she responded by rolling her eyes and getting up to get the color. After finishing my toe nails she told me to get up with no direction to what station she was going to. I sat down and she started on my nails. I asked the woman doing my nails could by best friend get her nails done in the seat beside me and she said you go ask the manager then came over and as I was about to ask her could we sit beside each other she cut me off and said yeah we are about to start on your friend nails and get u out of here because we see something wrong with you THE MANAGER SAYS THIS!! I then said maam what did we do she then states your faces are making us uncomfortable at this point I felt beyond disrespected and I got up and stated I dont want my nails done anymore can I just pay for my feet as Im walking to the counter to pay the manager stops me and says no you have to pay she continues to say mean comments and repeatedly states how bad she would like for us to leave as Im paying. This was the worst experience of my life I will never be back. Help spread the word so know one will have to go through what I did.
I went for powder dip nails with acrylic tip. I asked the nail tech 3 times if she could seal the bottom tip of my nail so debris would not go in and she straight out told me no. Finally at the end she just poured glue to fill it and it just looked messy. You can tell she was annoyed because I asked her. Also the nail was very thick and If you look from the side you can see grooves. I definitely will not be going back
The Nail Stop was a great salon when it first opened, and I could count on quality service from a number of nail techs. Now theres only one tech whom I will allow to touch my nails. The atmosphere has become increasingly unprofessional and rude. I can no longer give this establishment my business.
Get ready for the UPSELL! If you are not into any of the extra offerings, they are not interested in doing a good job. The lady with the blonde hair was my tech and she did a horrible job...left some of the old polish on my toes and tried to get me to upgrade to gel numerous times....when I said no, she said it would take too long to apply additional layers...the final product was not uniform at all..not going back.
Not super impressed with my services. This place has potential they just need some better techs or need to provide training. The drink was good though. The decor was awesome. Staff was nice kinda rushed me and confused me. I might come again and try a different tech.
Its amazing how customer service can destroy the fact that the establishment was beautiful, huge and had a bar. Im a mother of four and Im also in the beauty industry. I bought a Groupon for a pedicure for a Lil more then half of the original pedi price. I had all smiles before I said Groupon then there was 30 45 min wait. I decided to make am appointment for sun. Today I had extra time so I went to the website to see what times where available. Called the store (4x) until someone finally picked up and was told Groupon are walk in only and they were trying to make an exception for the app on sunday. I cancelled my Groupon because in this industry Groupon or not everyone is a potential repeat customer. Ill keep my money for a more inviting experience.
First time coming to this place and I will be back here again staff was very nice .I loved everything about it showed the lady a picture of how I wanted my nails and I got just that! This will definitely be my go to place from now on
I love The Nail Stop! Ive been coming here to see my girl Chika for over a year now. The Lavender pedicure is my favorite, and I usually get dip/SNS nails.
Great ambience And you can even get a drink from their bar. They have a special section for little kids to go and be pampered. Party room is big. And the decor is really beautiful and relaxing. Havent been as impressed with the new management vibe but still not a bad place.
Picked out a cat eye nail color. The tech doing my nails didnt even know how to do the technique! I had to point out that it was supposed to look a certain way and even googled it for her. Someone else came over to show her and the finish wasnt even correct. Decided to get another color since they didnt know what they were doing and they charged me for removing their mistake... lady said that was a waste of their time! They also didnt have the color I wanted in the gel afterwards. I should have got up and left when they didnt know what the cat eye finish was. Why would you have a product in house on display when you cant do it?!? Also one nail had bubbles and polish on the side of my skin sloppy finish. Will not be going back!
Paul is great . I live in Charlotte but I always make sure I see Paul every 2 weeks for my lavender pedicure and SNS. He is great, gentle , great convo /listener and has a sense of urgency :) He also suggest my nail color as well .. I get compliments every time !!!
I have been going to the Nail Stop since they opened a couple of years ago. There is plenty of staff where you never have to wait and they always accommodate. I had my wedding party mani/pedi done there and they were so great to schedule that with me. Highly recommended!
Was there 10-6 at 3:30. The lady that helped me hardly spoke English. I couldnt even ask her basic questions about what I wanted, she didnt understand. Did a terrible job scrubbing my feet, they are still rough. I waited at the counter for at least 5 minutes waiting to pay my bill. The counter guy was outside talking on the phone and ignoring me. A nail tech eventually helped mr. No nail dryer. Nope.
This is the WORST place in Durham to get your nails done. The manager is EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL AND RUDE! Upon entering the salon, which is beautiful, but not enough to step foot back into this place, was very abrupt and crass. I was meeting my bff their as we were getting pampered for our annual girls trip and my bestie beat me to the location.She waited at the bar and was never greeted by the mgr who stands guard at the door. When my bff was acknowledged it was the mgr stating did you need something because i wasnt sure.. my bff responded, well i was never greeted for you to know what i was doing waiting at the bar. well we move on from this trivial point... after having our pedicures, we then went to our next station for our manicures. after completing both services, we went to the front to dry and the pedicure fans werent on. I asked the mgr standing guard in her same position, if the fan worked, she abruptly said, the switch is on the side. oh ok...i never in a million years was told pretty much turn it on yourself... doesnt that risk my nails from being smudged if i have to stop to do your job. i turned the switch on because the mgr made no effort to assist me or the other patron who i shared the table with, of whom was not my bff. i noticed a smudge so i walked over to the mgr and the last remaining nail tech in the shop this particular evening and asked it could be fixed. the mgr, looked at me with disdain so i quickly quipped it was a result of turning the switch on which you did not when i asked... she began to laugh.. well this pissed me off because it was unnecessary to taunt me for something that was so simple... i immediately went to my bff while waiting for the tech to repair and said, she is very rude and unprofessional and dont ask me to return. the mgr came behind me and said i dont appreciate being called rude... you hurt my feelings... i quickly let her know that she was indeed rude and unprofessional for the comments i made above... she then became argumentative which further validates my point. it was an opportunity for her to realize how smug she was and how she came off to a new customer. she was patronizing and condescending but she had the right customer because i swung it right back in her face... I tell you all DO NOT VISIT THIS ESTABLISHMENT! WHILE IT IS PRETTY THE MGR WHO RUNS IT IS NOT! SHE IS RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL TO SAY THE LEAST... ID PROVIDE MORE ADJECTIVES BUT I AM ABOVE THAT!
It was just OK. Nothing spectacular at all. I weny for the first time yesterday and i damn near had to file my own nails. Considering the prices, I was expecting the basics to be covered. BEAUTIFUL place, great customer service, the quality of performance lacked.
Very disappointed in the Attitude of the Guy who is working the front desk. Today I went In and asked if Lynn was available to do eyebrows... He stated very rudely that Lynn no longer worked there. When I asked if she went somewhere else he brushed me off and started to ask another customer if he could help her....So if anyone knows if Lynn that does the best brows in town has gone to another salon PLEASE let me know.
Crooked nails. They almost took my eyebrows off. Nail fungus. Started going here when they opened, got a new full set of gel nails and developed fungus on my nails. Manager turned me away when I requested for them to remove my nails...twice. She told me to sit outside on those pollen covered chairs to wait. Found a new and better place that focuses on my nails AND I can sit inside of the building.
Rude, unprofessional staff! Having hundreds of pedicures & manicures in Western NC - Morganton, Marion & Hickory specifically - I’ve never been treated so inconsiderately in a nail salon. Technician blamed me for error. Also - FYI never ever been to a place where technician makes customer pick up shoes and purse & doesn’t give directions to manicure station. If in the Durham NC area - do not choose NailStop.
Very rude staff including the owner! Staff didn’t want to tell me how much price difference was from gel polish to regular polish but wanted to up sale me to a gel polish. Technician had an attitude after because I told him I needed to know the price before deciding what service I wanted, tossed towel towards me and told me to dry my hands before applying polish. Will not be returning!
This was the worst experience Ive ever had at a nail salon. I normally go to my regular nail salon but I saw there was a new high-end nail shop by Jordon high school so I decided to give them a try. However, the nail technician who did my nails ruined my nailbed by inappropriately removing my gel nails not allowing them to soak in acetone along enough and started scraping after 3 minute. Additionally, there was a language barrier, she completely disregard my request (not remove my cuticle and not using a nail file to remove the gel). Once, I had enough of her not understanding me and destroying my nailbed, I went to management. However, owners/management was extremely patronizinh and laying to my face saying this was normal. I wont have been as mad if Owner /management would have a knowledge that their nail technician messed up and ruin my nails and just apologized. For what theyre charging you expect highly trained nail technicians not mediocre.
It was the fastest pedicure I’ve had in my entire life. One toenail is completely crooked and the customer service is trash. I felt rushed and it was the laziest scrubbing I’ve experienced. I do not recommend.
I’m from durham and live in LA and thought i’d be able to get my nails done while i visit home. I’ve been here twice for two different services and each time the services rendered were subpar. This last time i got a gel manicure prior to New Years. Two days later my nails had bubbles in the polish, the nail tech had filed my natural nails too narrow on the side causing two to crack in the corners and two to break completely off. these are my natural nails i’ve taken time to grow out. i had to find a random nail shop in miami on nye to fix my nails. they also charged to remove gel polish which i never heard of in life. i’ll never go here again nor would i recommend this place to a friend.
One of my favorite places to sit back and relax when I want a pedicure.. they are so friendly and the shop is clean and I have never had to wait! I love it there!

I had a great experience here. They only thing is I waited a while for a nail tech and my water got cold but Daniel (Hes Awesome!) got me some fresh hot water. Great vibe and atmosphere!
Never again . I got my nails done Tuesday it’s Sunday and they are all breaking off . I paid $60 for a paper thin set and they are all breaking off 4 nails already and the sad thing is that I don’t even know when they’re breaking off so that proves they are not put on well . They charge upscale prices for poor services . My last time going here .
I finally found my new nail spot in the area. They are not only really good with customer service but they also do an amazing work. I was very satisfied. Definitely recommend this place!
For the price the pedicure was rushed. The teck left lots of dry skin on my feet. Continuously talking about the woman in the chair beside me rudely. Dont let the alcohol sway you...its not a good value for your money.
I have been coming here since they 1st opened and I intially loved it!! My last experience taught me there is no loyalty in places like this. I was over charged on my bill and by the time I left with my refund I was made to feel like a liar and a criminal.
This was my first time coming here and it was amazing!!! My pedicure is the bomb and the staff are very friendly. Did I mention that they have a bar also!!! Love it!!! Will be returning very soon!!
I went and got the Green Tea Pedicure and it was AMAZING!!! The lady scrubbed and massaged my feet, it felt so relaxing🥰 they did wonderful. I definitely will go again
Ive had great experiences I always go to Jamie or Dustin... The atmosphere is relaxing and the customer service is great (the Owner was very inviting and friendly plus I had 2 children with me ). Theres a play area for little girls I love it
Overpriced, long wait, poor customer service. The staff all walk around pretending to be busy. I waited 30 minutes and no came up to me and gave an ETA. They appear to be judgmental about who comes into their shop. You never know what or who someone may be. Treat everyone with respect.The one star is for the appearance for the shop.

WORST nail salon experience. Cheap products, terrible service, rushed job, completely awful and unprofessional management and way overpriced. I feel completely scammed. Even if they had been cheap you probably couldn’t pay me to return. Waste of time, waste of money, waste of energy. Do yourself a favor and enjoy nail services literally anywhere else.
Staff and treatment was mediocre at best. Entire mani/pedi for a 5-year old on her birthday was 15 minutes. Tech then walked away without a word. No wonder the very large place had just one customer. I wouldn’t recommend.
Terrible service. Did it really quickly and talked and laughed the whole time. It made me think they were laughing at me. The women doing my nails wiped snot off her nose and didnt get up to get a tissue or wash her hands. Im not going there again.

Friday I went to get a nail repaired. The service felt rushed. No primer was added though they were applying a whole brand new nail which I thought was odd. I was told that it wasn’t needed. It is now Sunday and my repaired nail is already lifting.

After I left, I realized my brand new pants were spattered with clear coat, so much that it had soaked through into my underwear. My clothes are ruined. I have no idea how they managed that without me noticing.
Extremely over priced. i asked for very specific nails and they were not able to complete the design, nor did they have any colors that were in the design i wanted. the design was NOT complicated. it called for gold glitter. they didnt even have gold glitter..
Wow, best place to get your nails done! The staff was friendly, helpful, and kind. On top of that you can even get an alcoholic drink while getting pampered.

Was not a fan, for the price I expected top quality. Felt rushed even though arrived an hour before closing, nails were not very neat had polish on my skin and nails were not shaped very nicely.
