Beachside Bar & Grill

Visited back in early November while on vacation. We were the first to order food, which took a little slower than youd think. There was a new waitress in training, which took more time during the normal rounds than should have as well. Speaking there were maybe 10 people in at this time... Drinks were too strong, but the food was great. Nice indoor/patio area as well.

Came here again with friends for lunch. Great service and food was delivered. I ordered the Longboarder burger and wasnt disappointed. Also the fries made a great compliment to the meal.

Bison burger and the trio appetizer of fried cauliflower, truffle fries, and onion rings. Everything was 10/10 that burger was honestly AMAZING. One of my most favorites ever.

Don’t be tempted by the big Wings menu! They are soo boriiiing! I ate them just because we payed for it!! They are frozen fried non really special flavored wings!!! We ordered the habanero and the blue cheese ones! You can’t even tell the difference!Only nice thing is the sitting outside around the fire tables.

The Cornbread Blueberry Pancakes were amazing. We sat outside for brunch, slight overcast, but the atmosphere was perfect. Just relaxing. Talk about work/life balance...whew!

I had avoided this place for so long, HOWEVER, today my husband and I finally said lets try this place. We walked in and the place was so welcoming and friendly. We had the burger and french fries and both were so good. While enjoying the burgers I was observing the staff deliver their jobs. The staff operates like robots in synchrony. They move in harmony with one another , self reliant and very attentive to their customers. What a good place to have a Burger. Thank you everyone, you are all exceptional person.

Very inconsistent with their food. You order one thing one day and the next you get something different. Today we got frozen chicken fingers from Costco. And they were $17!! Over priced for the quality of everything on their menu! Service is not friendly. We came back to watch the game, they do have the sound on and the good spot to watch sports, but I don’t see myself coming back. It’s a rip off!! So sad that this place just can’t get it together. Oh and they charge $10 for a coots light !

My first time going to Beachside Bar and Grill and it was an interesting experience @ first. My amazing waitress matti took our order and she was great until there’s was a miscommunication about my wings and the flavor I wanted. she was great with her customer service 100%. GM Brandon stepped in and gave me the wings I no longer (thought) I ordered and was sweet and genuine about the situation and gave me the wings free due to the miscommunication. I always got the wings I wanted after all….I appreciate there understanding and effort of great customer service. I give this place a 10/10 for going above and beyond to making it right for my birthday even though they didn’t even know it was my birthday. Y’all were great and hard working. I appreciate it 110%. There food is so amazing. Thank you! At the end we were surprised with a drink someone else paid for. Completed the night!! Thank you again y’all were great! Definitely recommend this place for everyone.

My grand daughters and I had the best afternoon on the patio At Beachside Bar and Grill. We had friendly and excellent service. They checked on us throughout our stay . We shared a platter of delicious wings . The wings were large and so tasty. Then we ordered burgers and chicken strips . Oh my! The servings were huge and so yummy. The fries were crispy and I couldn’t stop eating them. I recommend the Longboard burger . You’ll love this place.

My wife & I stopped by for the first time for lunch & the food was average. The service was the biggest issue for us, however. Halfway through our lunch our server stopped serving us. After taking our initial order we didnt receive any additional service. Ordering drinks/food became a chore. Other servers were not serving us either, even though the tables around us were being served. We proceeded to order our drinks from the bar instead of our table. The Server was apologetic after recognizing we ordered from the bar, but proceeded to neglect us thereafter. We ended up closing our tab at the bar after requesting & waiting for our check that never came. The prices were reasonable.

The food was amazing!Id go back for the French fries alone! The Crispy cauliflower was so tasty!

Always extremely friendly and accommodating from the hostess, servers and bussers. We had a large party of 11 on Saturday June 4th, called from San Diego to let them know we will be there around 3:40 which the hostess cheerfully took the reservation. Upon arriving we were greeted with smiles from both hostess and brought to our table, a table was set up inside, with 11 guys we requested to be put outside since we didnt want to disturb the other guest as we can be loud, once again it was no problem for our request, and a nice patio table was put together. Our server (Melissa?) approached us and took our drink order and unfortunately after dropping off drinks she was being phased out for the day, she was excellent with a great personality, we were sad to not have her finish off the service. Then Karina showed up and was introduced by Melissa, also great personality to take over the service. As usual the food and service by ALL was great, we will definitely be back and I hope Karina will take care of us again as she was fantastic, you too Melissa, thanks again

Casual & easy, good service, giant fries & nachos (we went during Happy Hour (M-F 3:30-6:30) & they were gigantic, so I assume the normal menu items are the same), good wine. The Southwestern salad was pretty good, the chicken added to the nachos was a bit skimpy. The seasoned fries were really good!

I eat here at least twice a month. They are owned by Le Papagayo and have a very good menu while being laid back, friendly, and little wait time. They have the best wings and the Bison burger is amazing!

Nice drink selection, friendly service, great environment. I like all the sugar free options for syrups. They lose a star because there is no covered seating outside, and its too hot to sit anywhere without shade. I wish they would add an awning or umbrellas to the tables.

I probably would have given it 4 stars had I made this review before the last time I went here. They have changed the happy hour specials, which used to be phenomenal, to just ok and not much of a special. $2 off expensive priced beers? They used to be $4 for a big 22oz beer, now that same beer is like $7 during happy hour. Not much of a special. Service can be hit or miss, sometimes its great, sometimes you wait a while to get your order. The back patio is great though. Hang out there.

Not impressed with the service. The food is decent for bar food. Old Bay wings barely had any old Bay. My fiance is allergic to onions his burger came out with onions. We mentioned this to the waitress, she just said sorry and did not offer to have it remade. We also asked for water, ketchup, and napkins. Never got any of those. When we brought this up to the manager he said, things fall through the cracks. I wouldnt go back. There are other places to get better food and service. Probably ok if you are just there to drink.

The food was decent. Unfortunately, the one star review was due to service. Actually, lack of service. With the exception of the bus boy, no one came to our table for at least 15 minutes. The manager walked by our table at least a dozen times. We had to ask for a menu(no menu scan at table). No napkins after finally receiving a round of drinks. No utensils or plates after receiving food. No follow up for a second round. Uh, check please? Yes, we had to ask for the check as well. This is a management problem. Theres a sign above the entrance that claims Beachside Bar and Grill is under new management. I wonder how many managers theyll need to fire before they get it right.

Food was terrible. Service was terrible. All around bad experience.We showed up as part of a large pary and the hostess felt put off when we asked if she could check and see if anyother members of the party were here.The servers were rude. Almost like they had better places to be. For example, our server rolled her eyes when asked for additional ketchup and never came back to check on us let alone check to see we need a refill on drinks.In my 11 years of living in SD. This food was by far the worst Ive come across. The burgers gave my wife and kids stomach aches and diarrhea. Ill take the hit for ordering an ahi sandwich at a bar & grill. I guess that was wishful thinking...The 1 star is for the only good thing out of this place and that was the bus boy. He was busting his @$$ and made sure the group was comfortable when the sun went down and fired up the heating lamps.Stay clear of this place unless you like the felling of bubble guts all night. TRASH!

Lots of indoor and outdoor seating and fun atmosphere to catch a game. Came to see a set of the US Open; tried the seared ahi sandwich, which was grilled to perfection, with truffle fries. Free refills on soda and very attentive staff. *Only recommendation is to allow for audio to be heard for sporting events; half the fun is hearing J. McEnroe commentating in his classic tone on line calls and tennis etiquette. That said, I will definitely be back!

Enjoyed a really great Friday happy hour! They were short-staffed but everyone had a great attitude, and worked as a team to make sure we had a great time and received top-notch service! Thank you Sophia for making sure we were still happy 🙂 The place was jammin!

We had our dogs for a day stroll stopped for lunch. They all were very accommodating for pooches 🐶 Our drinks were delicious! But the food even better 😋 I had chicken fettuccine very creamy smooth sauce and friend had Phiily cheese steak lots of tender meat with yummy truffle french fries. All staff was hard working & pleasant 💗

This place has lost something in recent years, two years ago it was a 5 star bar. I get frowns where there used to be smiles and the prices have gone up. I guess the price increase is to be expected these days, it would just be nice to have a well made drink and a smile go with it. Its a big place but its dirty and unwelcoming, the food is typical bar food but tastes good. There are many better stops along coast highway.

Fine quality American food and friendly service make it a place to remember. My wife enjoyed pork sliders, while Ihad a tasty cuban sandwich. They made fresh coffee. Always appreciated.

Visited on Sunday evening. This open air eatery and bar is a great hang out with a new menu of delicious entrees and shareable foods. Under new management everything appears the same. Great friendly and accommodating staff and servers. I enjoy this place for lunch, dinner, or just appetizers and a cool beverage.

Wasnt bad when we got there, and then the waiter came. He looked like he had just come off the beach, it was great. Thought he might start saying dude a lot. Service was a little slow, the reason for the 4 star review. They have an ice cream sandwich which is awesome.

I had Longboard burger and fries. My wife had two mahi mahi tacos. No drinks. Food was excellent but bill was $30 plus tip. It was a perfect weather Sunday afternoon at the start of NFL football. The place was packed inside and out. Servers did their best but crowd overwhelmed them. Five stars for food minus one for price and minus one for service.

Great food, friendly staff, a great outdoor patio with a ping pong table! Also has a shuffleboard table inside. Owner Ron is super friendly, too! If only he wasnt a Patriots fan ;) I guess now that the Chargers are gone it can be forgiven.

Beachside is dog-friendly, with a few different patios available. Its been such as favorite stop of ours that when we take our dog for a walk in Encinitas, she pulls us toward the entrance as we walk down the street. Food and drink are good, and prices are reasonable. Service is usually OK, but seldom outstanding.

Were big fans of Beachside, it is our go-to place for Sunday sports viewing. There are several different areas and entertainment options; street seating out front, sports bar, dining area and an outdoor area. Heaps of games and activities. Staff are really nice and the new menu is great. Try the wings.

Stopped for a drink and something small to eat. Bartender made us a couple of awesome drinks and the waitress Emily was very cool. Good experience and great atmosphere even in this mask on time we are in.

The food was great, great atmosphere, and Trevor was what made the experience!! He’s the busser but he sure was attentive to the table, making sure we had what we needed and that everything was good! Hard to come across good workers like that!!

Okay, I obviously have to explain the 5 stars as there are so many negative reviews. First, to explain, my 5 star experience is at lunch where we have the entire restaurant nearly to ourselves. In my vast experience of dining, I have found that timing at Restaurants is key if truly you are going there for the food.This establishment is not just a Restaurant but a bar without outdoor entertainment and indoor shuffleboard that obviously is played only when partying not having a quality dinner. The food is worth 5 stars when the timing is right. The potato skins are a treat as you can never find them in our healthy town (it is located next to at least 3 if not more Yoga studios) and the burger and fried chicken sando is excellent. I have had delicious healthy meals and soups as well. The fish has always been good for me. For travellers, even though the front outdoor seating is enticing, I would recommend taking a booth inside by the window instead then you get the view and the ambience. And ..weekend nights..its a party!

My boss always takes me here for lunch. They always have sports on. Food is good. I always get the naked Chicken wings. My boss gets the spinach salad (he loves it). The waitresses are cute. Sports channels are on all the time. We sit inside outside.

Beachside is an amazing place for locals, great food and good drinks. Biggest wing menu besides BWW, but you can understand theirs....Dont go here so you dont take my table.. Enjoy

Awesome! Ive only been here in the evenings. Love their menu. Had Huevos Rancheros - so delicious and generous portions. Wait staff is friendly and they all work together to make sure their customers are taken care of. Went there to watch the Saints/49ers game because Peabodys was slammed and very noisy. This place was quiet and good vibe. Not only could I see the game, but we had a speaker next to us so we could hear it as well. Novel concept, right?! 😁 will definitely go here again. Manager came over and was really cool. A big plus IMO!

The service was horrible and the food was simply average. We didn’t complain when the waiter brought us mystery beers (not what we ordered) but after not being able to pay with gift cards for that restaurant, I asked to speak to a manager. The manager was of course unavailable. Save your money and go to any number of the better bar and grills out there.

This place was great, they have a great selection of beers and cocktails. My partner had a frosé and she loved it. The food is great here.Even the area is worth mentioning, we drove up there check it out the place and you get some great oceanside views on the drive over, by the time we got to Beachside Bar & Grill we were already in a relaxed mood.Also there are a lot tv screens here so it is a great place to catch a game if youre in the area.

There nachos were good before, but they revamped them and the nachos are awesome now. Kids meals come with cotton candy if you remember to ask. Top notch bar food and they have one of my favorite ales on tap Lagunitas 12th of never.

Love this place the first time being here and the wings were awesome. The two girls helping us were awesome too, super nice and sweet they gave my nephew a cotton candy treat.Super nice and thoughtful. Will definitely come back.

Good food and awesome Server made this a great experience. A bit pricey for a local bar but the quality and beer selection make it work. Love the patio.

Didnt eat here, swung by for a cocktail and i liked the atmosphere. The bartender, Cole, was a riot. Really made our time there a blast.

Indoor and outdoor space for you, and 20 of your best friends to watch Sunday football! Or any of the other sport nights! Great beer selection from San Diegos hop highway, kitchen is good, staff is the typical SoCal love, or whatever you describe that feigned indifference ;).Highly recommend a stop here if you have a chance!

The spinach artichoke dip was amazing!!! You can not go wrong with anything you order here the whole family was super happy with the fish tacos, chicken strips, mac & cheese, and chicken quesadilla

Great bartenders, hot waitresses & great food. Youve got to try the Cobb Salad, chopped & tossed. And all the sports on TV. If you dont have a great time, you need to look in the mirror.

This place has HORRIBLE service! waitress at least one, lost our ticket and was NOT even apologetic about it. offered to take our order again and let us sit take wait longer after sitting already for an hour wondering where our order was! didnt offer any comp or excuse...juat said accidents happen. horrible...rude skanky waitress woth no personality! she just walked away like nothing happened! I honestly wanted to rip her back by her hair for treating us like we hadnt sat there for an hour! but I feel like a bad review speaks volumes! Ill go back but only to have a few choice words with her and the manager! people, DONT waste your time coming here...too bad to because the prices and food was somewhat decent the time before. Now, just not worth the effort.

Great food, goodly portions with a nice outdoor patio and excellent service. They have big screens tuned to sports channels. We had a good time while smelling the ocean breeze.

Friday night bartender acted very strange, served one round of drinks then cut us and others at the bar off for no reason. He pretty much chased us out when we were looking to hang out there and spend more $. When we asked why no more service he turned confrontational. Bad experience for a tourist, would certainly not recommend. I guess there’s a reason it was the slowest bar in town.

Had a lovely lunch, wife and I split appetizers and a big salad. Apps were hot and crispy, salad was cool and crisp. Service was friendly. As a fair warning: Beachside is missnamed, the beach is about a mile away.

New Ownership, new menu was really good (although I miss the Salmon BLT, that was unique), however the bartender ignored us and I never got a single drink refill or much attention at all. Will try again.

Wow, wrong in so many ways for lunch. Hamburgers and panini is are small and light on meat and even veges. Panini bread is stale and rastelesssl, dont offer wheat buns. High price with fries, and you get few fries. They say fries on special, but are probably frozen. They were cold too. They charge for all things on top of price, want cooked onions instead of raw: $.60! Service is lacking, waitress does not listen and gave me feedback when I asked for extra ice. Also, she has a scowl on her face of you ask for anything changed on order. Not good, not going back!

In a word . . .slow. We were on our way back from the beach, saw this place and just stopped. It was not crowded, plenty of people on staff, but 45 min to get some burgers? Really? Make sure you have plenty of time. The was good, staff was fine.

I would honestly give this place a zero star if possible, 2 of my friends and myself showed up for dinner and there were barely any people in there (so it wasnt busy) but we didnt get seated for 20 minutes. After being seated we didnt recieve a menu so i had to get up and find them myself. Our waiter didnt show up for another 10-15 minutes and after we ordered everything including drinks, our drinks didnt even show up until our food did almost 30 mins later, and our food came out wrong and we tried looking for our waiter but couldnt find him apparently he had gone home for the day. I found a waitress but she was texting and told me she didnt know anything and told me to find someone at the bar!! Once we found someone they were bringing us the bill for food we had barely eatten because it was wrong. They then told us that there is no way to reverse the price or charge, so basically they told me i had to pay despite the terrible service and terrible food. I will never return here, you couldnt pay me enough to go back.

Just came back from eating at the beachside bar and grill. Food was great service was great. The waitress on the patio was on top of everything. She was very good.

Well they are cheery! Pretty quick to take the order of your choice. Although if you want to enhance your choice of food ,they are very accommodating. And the service girls are cute if that matters for some of you.

We thought it was a place to catch a meal and a game but low and behold it’s a $10 cover to stand in a crowded bar with no seating.Might be a nice place during the day, but if you are planning a night out with dinner you might want to get there early.

Service was marginal even though it was 3 p.m. and the place was almost empty. However, the ceviche was perfect! The calamari was better than average but not the best I have had. I would go back.

Me and my husband walk in and got the best waitress! We had very good beer and the food was good. My hubby loved the potatoes with cheese and bacon!

When I think of the bars in Encinitas and I had to describe them quickly I would say Beachside is somewhere between Union and Saloon and D Street, literally and figuratively. Union is more gastropub/restaurant styled while D Street is an all inclusive sort of bar with a stage, lounge, TVs. Beachside is a little of both, but with a true Encinitas vibe. Patios and a firepit (albeit small) and even a strange set up as if it expanded that way.Its a little hard to navigate around here what with the shuffleboard right at the front door and the front side of the bar usually packed I like to head straight for the bathrooms and go to the backside of the bar which is almost always less crowded and you guessed it the faster the drinks, its also right by the employee only door and sanitizing machine.The bartenders are fast and accurate and they could probably use a 2nd bar back and dish washer along with a 4th bartender. I love how they have the taller Imperial pint, most bars and some European bars dont even have that. The beer selection is ok, its not as crafted as other bars like Encinitas Ale House (the size of my 1st apartment), but the drinks are made right, not too strong, not too weak. I do however think they are a little cavalier with their glassware. I was recently a victim of a quarter sized piece of glass at the bottom of my pint at an other establishment and seeing how busy they were I thought they could use a little more care here. Its not something I ever had to worry about and it was probably a fluke, but its something you should never have to worry about at any establishment. Its kind of like how some people go by that old saying how the sausage is made, well Ive made sausage and Ive drank a lot of drinks and all it takes is once to have a little doubt, even while drunk. I saw a bar back break a glass taking the tray out of the sanitizer and hand pick up the pieces. It happens, I know it does, but a star for that alone.I do love the patios and the additional exits they have. No smoking, but each time Ive come and asked they are Vape Friendly, so no issues there. Prices are pretty good, and the crowd is more my scene than the too young D Street/Saloon people and the too yuppy Union.

Good place to grab a beer and pub food to watch the game. Shuffleboard is a fun way to pass the afternoon. California burrito is small, especially for the price. But paninis are good and sizable.

Great update to the menu but real wimpy on the double cheeseburger! Also the whiskey sour and old fashioned need work. Nice update to the patio for games.

So Im not going to say this out loud, but they have a great brunch..I suggest you go to Mr Peabodys so you dont make me wait.. Enjoy.

We had their fish and chips as well as the Buffalo wings and everything had great flavor too it! However it is a bit on the pricier side of the spectrum.

Let me begin by saying we were walking by when a local told us we should try the paninis. So we ordered the potato skins to start and the peppermill turkey panini with sweet potato fries for our entree. After a while we received the wrong entree and while still expecting to get our starter. Eventually the correct entree came out, but our starter was will MIA. The panini was good, but the sweet potato fries were cold and bland. By the time we finished our paninis our starter finally came out and to our surprise it was just as bad as the sweet potato fries. Our service was very distant and lackluster. Being a server myself i have experience in having my orders go wrong and have to recover an unhappy table. This girl however had no idea that we were even unhappy. I can promise that i will never dine here again.

Im not crazy about the menu. Im not a burger person and the Mexican cuisine is a little too spicy for me. Other people love it.

Stopped in on a weekday night for dinner. Food was mediocre. In spite of it being a slow night, service was poor. Server was fixated on watching the Olympics rather than doing his job.

Its near the beach in So Cal, food was good, Margarita was strong, and waitress was cute AF...and she was friendly and was good checking in on me. Had to tip her well.

Its an ok kind of place. The server we had was awesome, but the hostess wasnt even there when we came in. The food wasnt anything special and feel like it was a smidge over priced. The should revamp their menu.

Went for lunch while visiting friends on the west coast. Sat outside where we could see the passersby & sports on TV. Food was good but nothing special. Servers are pleasant.

Happy hour is the best time to hit the bar, between 1530-1830 M-F. The calamari is a deal and fish tacos will pair perfectly with a local IPA.

We are on a Sunday booze cruise on the bikes and decided to stop in here for a drink. Had the vodka elderflower drink with peanut butter and jelly chicken wings... Strange and amazing!

Feels divey but the drink prices are great and the food was good. We ordered the Nachos with Chicken and they were very tasty.

Went with the whole family ( 2 toddlers) and they have a really great kids menu. Their burgers are awesome!

Way over serve the patrons alcohol, if they havent had anyone leave and kill someone they will it is inevitable. They act like people do not have to leave and go home. Where I am from the bar tenders are a lot more conservative and will cut people off before earning tips off drunk people. Shame.

Our favorite spot when visiting Encinitas CA. Good food, reasonable prices, great selection in beer and wine, and the nicest staff. Absolutely recommend this place.

Hey good selection of beer and since you have to eat they had anything from cheap food to happy hour food too bar / grill food. So, nothing to complain about.

Great place and good service erick the server was great, first time here came down from indio ca. where its a 115 degree and the weather is good here.

Great music, decent bar food, and wonderful local beers on tap. 10 out of 10. Would recommend.

Beer was good , foos sucked , service was slow , waitress was nice and friendly, Bison Burger tasted horrible. Do yourself a favor , eat elsewhere then come back for a beer .

Honestly WAY overpriced for the quality of food you get, i paid 15 dollars for a burger, fries and small coke, which tasted horrible, frozen food, even the mustered was bad.

Good beer, plenty of room for any size group, shuffleboard. For some reason it is never really crowded.

Just your average Sports Bar. Oh and if your not at the bar, count on an hour to order food. But they have alot of Tvs for different games.
