Yes. They have it. And a lot more. Youll find something else you need. Guaranteed. Yes. They are open. This is what you want a Radio Shack to be. Wall to wall stuff. All conveniently organized. Lots of little detail parts: semiconductors, connectors, canuders.... And fun stuff like RC cars, trucks, boats, walkie-talkies, breadboard parts... And some way-back time machine stuff: floppy disks, cassettes, telephones... Its not too soon or too late to do an arduino project. Take some steps to prepare and understand the AI revolution with your kids. Youll be glad you did. And so will they. Best wishes for success with whatever amazing, crazy project youre on. Cheers.
This is just like the RadioShack we all knew and loved growing up. They still carry hard-to-find batteries, connectors, adapters and more. The gentleman at this store is very kind and waited for me to arrive at closing time on my most recent visit after I got stuck in traffic due to an accident on I-15.
Radio shack store in layton just wow! Went to go get some parts was amazed with the selection they have available, from components to maker kits, to arduino- raspberry pi boards and sensors, cb/ham equipment and accessories, hobby rc cars/trucks... Dude! Great selection of products, plus didnt have to go far to get my Vapes at great price almost 30% cheaper then my regular vape store, and the young man working there was so knowledgeable and helpful !!!!
I went to the store at 10:15 and store was not open. I will get my part from EBAY. It might open later but I dont care.
Bought a $50 remote control car and they have a no return policy. Charged the battery for 3 hours per the instructions and it works for 10 min. Charged the other battery pack for 3 hours and again it works for 10 min. Ive had better quality RC cars from Walmart. Very disappointing.
I didnt realize how much I missed Radio Shack Radio Shack and all of the amazing things that they have and had Going back to when that was the go to for anything and all things electronics.. This place is awesome and is awesome and highly recommended for all things electronics as well.Stuff youll only find on Amazon maybe but this guy took a great gamble to buy q franchise and stock as much of his choice of and can get gadgets you didnt know you needed.Local owner and good people.Recommend going here if you live near it not.Worth it.
I had an awful experience here. I went in to try to find a new cord for a light. The worker there found one for me, after being a little rude. I went to buy it and it came out to $31.08. Over 30 dollars for a new cord? I could just buy a new light for less than that. I said that it was over my budget and I was fine with out it. The worker was very rude to me and annoyed that I wasnt going to pay $31 for that cord. I was very disappointed. Not good service at all
I went in for a simple component, but unfortunately the staff was very blunt and forcing. the price of the component was double than it should have been. And I wasnt able to walk out without it. I would not recommend.
Muhammad, the man running the store, was very helpful and friendly to me. He helped me find the right International electrical power travel adapter that I needed. The store, though small, was very well stocked and had exactly what I needed. Kudos to RadioShack! I am grateful there are still stores like this around for times when I dont have time to wait for Amazon Prime to deliver! :-)
It seems that this RadioShack is going back to how it was several years ago and once again has a good selection of electronic components, sensors, kits, etc. needed by the hobbyist. Very impressed with the selection. Customer service is good if you need it and although prices are more expensive than online, its nice to find things in stock when you need them quick.
It’s so nice to have a place I can get electronics right away! No waiting for them to ship. Thank you!!
There are so few left anymore but lucky to have one very close to me and the guy behind the counter most times I go in is super knowledgeable and great at helping me figure pretty much anything out. He always has recommendations and the store is so well displayed, I enjoy going there for those hard to find items quickly when I cant wait for Amazon.
TL;DR - We got what we needed (50ft of RG8X w/ UHF male connectors), but it will require a bit of extra work and some soldering in order to get it to work (We will have to solder the connectors on), we were told that the cable was in stock and did not need to solder anything when we double checked over the phone. He also gave us the wrong cable intentionally because he thought it was just as good. (RG58). Not good customer service, they have parts but make sure you triple check with them before making the drive out there to buy something. As for background of this review, Im a ham radio operator and needed a few things (mainly 50ft of RG8X cable) for a new antenna setup that im building. I called ahead to this radioshack and asked if they had 50ft of RG8X with UHF male connectors, they did, and everything seemed fine. We drove out to get it (30 minutes each way), not a good experience once we got there. We asked the man working at the counter, whom I had spoken to on the phone, for that cable, and he went and grabbed it for us. We paid and left. In the car we realized he had given us RG58 instead of RG8X, a lossier cable if youre doing longer runs like I am. We went back, told him that we got the wrong cable thinking he did it by mistake, he instead told us that its just as good and that we wouldnt notice a difference, I insisted for RG8X after arguing with him about it for a minute or two and he told me that If I wanted any I would have to solder on the cables myself, completely a different story than what I was told on the phone. He got the cable for us, and with the connectors it ended up costing us another 15-30 bucks. Im glad we could get what we needed, but lying about what products you have just because something works just as good is not good customer service. Ill make sure to triple check next time I go there.
Great selection of supplies and products but their employees are not good. You better have a lot of time and patience if you are going to ask one of them a question. One example is I was on the phone with their store and hung up on the guy because he just kept talking saying I couldn’t do this and needed to do this. My question was if they had something in stock, that’s it. And yet two minutes later of the guy trying to explain what it is used for and what I can and cannot use it for sheesh!!
Had to return what I thought was an ethernet cable which was too short. Muhammad offered to replace the product for the same price I had paid for to get a longer cord and the right product. He still provided me the refund. Needless to say, he has everything you may need and then some. Will return if I need any other product that may be hard to find. Thanks Muhammad for the great customer service!
My favorite part was the kid behind the counter that didn’t even acknowledge my existence, and offered no help in any way. Also told other customers that came in that he couldn’t help them. Just stared at his phone. Top notch customer service.
Clerk was more interested in talking to some guy. Waited about 5 minutes to ring up my purchase. He was annoyed I had the gull to ask for a gift receipt. When I thanked him, he said NO problem I HATE THAT PHRASE.... Like it could of been. UUUUUGGGGG
Thank goodness for this radio shack! The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful and they carried the fuses I needed. This is the only radio shack in the area and the only place to find electronic components without going online. The store is easy to access from I-15. Great experience.
If you havent been in this radio shack in awhile, like myself, you will be glad to know that they have ditched the phones. Seems like the store is working its way back to what it used to be in the 80s and 90s. Guy behind the counter both times i have been back to the store has been very helpful. The prices are maybe a bit high, but i will gladly pay more if it helps get the shack back to its glory days.
I went in on 9 - 7 - 18 and had a really good experience with a man with an accent who really tried to help me with my questions and problem-solve while looking for capacitors and made for a really easy exchange when we realized the wrong capacitors were in the wrong slot. But I came back on 9 - 8 - 18 at about 7:30 and the man that was there was very short, very lacking in knowledge of basic electronic components, had no answers for me on my broad range of questions and seemed really agitated I was trying to interact with him. The entire time he followed me around this store standing feet away from me just staring at me and my girlfriend. when it got down to the last 15 minutes of the store being open he started to count down the minutes getting noticeably aggravated up until the point that we checked out about 3 minutes before the store closed. After we checked out I walked directly to the left to check the price of a breadboard and announced thats all I was doing and he got short and aggravated with a very unpleasant k, seriously we are closing soon remark. I felt very uncomfortable and very distracted causing me to lose track of what I was doing and lose track of the math also causing me to forget some of the items that I needed. I was very excited to find out that there was a RadioShack not too far from me but It is safe to say that I wont be returning, the products are cheaper online anyway.
I gave this one star because I did not have the ability to give it negative stars. I called about replacement batteries for home wireless phones. I was quoted $24.00 per battery. Since I needed 4 I told the person on the phone that I could purchase a new phone system with 4 phones and new batteries for what he wanted to charge me for 4 batteries. He said he could discount the batteries $5.00 each. I told him that a $19.00 price was still way out of line. I checked on line and order 4 batteries with sales tax and shipping for $26.33. That is far better that the rip off price of $19.00 per battery plus tax quoted by Radio Shack.Buyer beware with Radio Shack in Layton, Utah.
We had the impossible cord to find and had struggled everywhere to find it and you have the nicest employee I asked his name I am so impressed how we were treated he was seriously kind! I would go back any time his service was worth coming back! His name was Raven 😊
Guy behind the counter who runs the store went bolistic on me. Me head phones broke right after I bought them and I am very careful with my head phones. Either way I went to exchange them because with mass production their can be problems with one I usually only buy beats never had an issue but this guy proceeded to be angry. And yelled at me profusely about it being my fault. When all I wanted was a good working head phone well he opened the new ones and started tearing them apart and yanking the hell out of them and I’m like please don’t do that with the head phones your replacing mine with and he’s like it doesn’t matter these are mine even though they were the head phones he was trading mine with he was almost breaking them and I nicely ask him to stop but he did not care he was determined to show me it was all my fault
Came from another state, bought a audio product for my car, it didnt work. Tryed to return it in my state where I returned home. Couldnt accept because independent owned store......came back to Utah when I could and then they cant give refund back because it was over a month..... horrible customer service and company. I have no product now as they stuff their pockets with my $25. Never again. I hope this company collapses.
I tried to ask the sales person for a toggle switch and a rotary switch to which the sales person start going off about how they were to different types of switches and how I cant have both....No kidding thats why I asked for both a rotary and a toggle not a rotary toggle! He then hands me a rotary switch to which I asked if he had one with a thinner post like 9mm which he said this is universal and will fit any swicth...maybe you should ask the customer what to they need it for or just listen to what the customer wants. You dont know what I am building so dont tell me its universal just to make a sale...Wonder why we buy online instead of going to a joke of an electronic store where we are not listened to.
Seems like Radio Shack has turned into a cell phone accessory store. You just cant get all of the unique, individual components like you used to. Sure they still have soldering irons and a few connectors, but not like 15 years ago. Not sure how much longer they will be around.
Glad this radio shack is able to stay in business. All the best youd expect to see in radio shack. Recommend coming here. The employee was able to answer my questions and was friendly. Hopefully enough people will be show thier support for a great establishment
This is one of the last radio shacks in and around the area, I was actually shocked when I saw it and had to stop in to take a look. I dont remember radio shack having such a broad range of items. They had things for the DIY person(diodes, resistors, leds...) to a huge selection of batteries. I was pleasantly surprised that there selection of cb and handheld radios was bigger than most truck shops. I felt like a kid in a candy store plus it just felt so nostalgic to actually still be able to walk into one of these stores. The staff was friendly and helpful.
Pretty much every time I go here they dont have what Im looking for. The workers are usually pretty helpful to come up with alternative ideas but for being an electronics supply store, it just doesnt cut it.
Great store with a great selection, they have a great selection of single board computers. Great selection of thru-hole components and pre built interfaces. Check it out you wont be dissapointed.
This is total nerdvana! So much electronics and services! I hate leaving and had to keep from hugging staff. Haha! What a wonderful place. Have so many DIY components, specially was amazed to see Arduino and Raspberry pi boards, kits etc......Employees are freiendly & knowledgeable, Overall great shopping experience.
Always has the right stuff. Great for the techy.Im a big fan of the small computer known as the Rasberry pi. I get all kinds of raw electronic components for my Rasberry pi projects here at Radio Shack. Sometimes I just need to get the stuff I need right now in stead of waiting for a shipment.
Great hidden treasure trove of parts for vintage stereo equipment. The guy working knows were everything tell him what you need and youll have it. I will continue to shop here and spread the word!
First of all, I call multiple times today and they never answered. I get there and ask for a product and they say theyve never seen it before. I walk down one isle and find it. Seems like they just want to get rid of you so they can make their job easier. Horrible service.
The guy in there is super helpful and friendly. Previously I left a negative review, but I had a much better experience today. The guy was just running a bit late the other day.
I’m very upset at the product (ILIVE 5.1 home theater system) and the way the guy acted. This package is clearly damage, I asked if he had one in the back, he said no, I asked if it had been used before or if anything was damaged he said no. I am going to return tomorrow.
Kid behind the counter didnt say anything to anyone that came in. We didnt find what we were looking for. Im 100% sure you guys had what we needed, but just gonna run over to target to grab it. Not impressed with the guy working there.
One of the last Radio Shacks in the nation! You can find pretty much everything electronic here! And, someone that knows what theyre talking about, and is always willing to help.Stop here before going anywhere else, you wont be disappointed.
You go in and ask for a cell cover they give you the worng thing then you buy a cell phone there and you have issues with it then two days later you take it back and they wont reply it when its been within 14 days and they want you spend 100 bucks on a phone and said you wont have issue if you pay that much its bullshit they are just liers and dont know NOTING traget knows more and they say metro pcs dont know anything why you think i changed services from you guys stupid
Store in Layton should have been open 20minutes ago, 5 customers waiting outside, no one in the building yet…..how bad is that? No wonder people are going elswhere
Great knowledge (the manager). Great selection. 4 times more expensive than amazon though. Nice if you are in a quick bind.
Helpful and especially knowledgeable. A few years back has an amateur radio operator Id have to give salesperson a lesson in opponents!
This place is keeping hobbyist ALIVE!! Unfortunately its hard to keep up with online hobby shop prices. Amazing amount of stem things. Keep the shack going!!!
Muhammad you are a life saver!!!! Thank you sooo much for your gracious help in solving my dilemma with new cable adaptions! Your happy demeanor and professionalism was genuine and exceptional. Thank you! 🙏
Caught them changing the price while checking out and trying to charge $50 for a used Ethernet cable when Amazon sells the same product for $20
Very pleasant place to buy electronics and parts. Very nice staff to. This is an owner oporated store and it is a step up from most radio shacks.
I had just come from Best Buy and they were no help at all. RadioShack got me what I needed at a good price.
They had everything we needed! Its great to see RadioShack back with the electronics essentials.
Store’s OPEN sign is on, doors are locked and no one is inside. It’s 5:40 PM on Monday. “Open until 8 PM”. This is the second time it’s happened.
They took Radio Shack away from Ogden area but there is one in Layton... But they are very friendly and helpful. We will be going back...
Staff is rarely helpful, but it is the only place you can get most electronic parts without ordering online.
Their website says the are open at 9 to 8 and it’s 11:43am! They have a sign in the window that says Open!!! Their doors are locked with a tiny sign that says be back at 12 pm that is total BS!!!I have watched 5 people try to go in they are losing customers!!! Very poor customer service!!!
The man there was of great help to me! He even taught me the best way to solder something.
Just like the old Radio Shack, still has everything you need. I always find what I need.
Great customer service, they were extremely helpful. I came in, they got me what I needed, and I was out in a couple minutes.
Bought a modem and we opened the box and it wasnt the right modem. Tried to return the modem but they couldnt take it back because of the box was opened.
Sean is AWESOME!
Did not have even the Raspberry Pi Zero. Good only for basic parts like Transistors, cables etc.
Radio shack is great on there info and there product I wish slc had them still but worth the drive
DO NOT bother. Radio Shack is on the way OUT. Some stores sales are FINAL, no refunds but manager states they are NOT closing. Mighty SUSPICIOUS!!!
So glad this place is open. Just sad its in the middle of nowhere. I mean where else can you get a DC to DC buck converter in a hurry.
Store in Layton should have been open 20minutes ago, Im waiting outside, no one in the building yet.
Radio shack is one of those stores that when you need a special part they got it. And they are always willing to help.
Glad this store survived. Prices seem a little high, but they have stuff you cant get any where else.
Decent selection of absurdly overpriced components. If you can wait for shipping, prices online are a tenth of theirs.
Had to wait 10 min after store hours for the employee to show up and open the doors. Guess you dont need to be on time to work here.
They had just what we needed and offered another solution that fit our needs even better!
Poor service and employees fail to inform customers of things that are NOT RETURNABLE. Will only be coming back to this RadioShack unless it is totally necessary, if not, definitely going elsewhere or to another RadioShack.
Limited selection of parts and really expensive, many common dev boards ar 2-3x the price of online retailers
Love this place for my electronics needs. The little parts nobody else has
Only location nearby, lots of great DIY electronics and Ardunio parts.
They didnt have what I needed but at least they knew what they had. They were very helpful.
Unique and on demand products, affordable prices, and its the only electronic store that provides personalized service for the electronic hobbyist.
The 2 RadioShack/Sprint Left!1. Maywood2. UTIm Happy That RadioShack/Sprint Still Here 😳😀
It was ok they had the right 3.5mm cord I needed but customer service not the best at all.
Radio Shack has a lot of electronics kits and robots. They also had some of those pop can RC cars and a ton of drones.
They got stuff you need at convenience pricing. What do you expect?
Great serivces.. they even let me return product after I destroyed the packaging..
They didnt sell me a speaker wire by the foot. Instead they want it for me to buy the whole thing. Ridiculous.
Yes they are still available cool gadgets but expensive
Gonna miss this place when its gone. No more local parts for diy electronics
The employee was helpful and made the shopping experience casual and comfortable.
The staff went above and beyond to help me with an unusual request for hardware for a class electronics workshop. Thanks!
Cant believe one of these places still exists. They had that thing I didnt want to wait on shipping for.
I am glad this store is still around providing electrical parts in a pinch.
Was looking for a fuse for my multimeter but they didnt have it.
Hard to find parts.... guy behind the counter was very helpful and kind.
They are great place to get nail and spa wounderful people
Well organized and the people working know the store and where everything is.
Helpful and courteous. Still love this store.

The staff was very knowledgeable about their products.
Well organized and an easy grab what you need any go place.
Good selection, great resource for need it now parts.

The only place I could find the electronic adapters I needed.
They always know what Im looking for and where to find it.
Products are pricey compared to bestbuy or Walmart
Good selection and helpful people
Says opens at 9, yet no one was there...
Great clearance prices on outdated tech.
Best service ! Impressive Tech knowledge
They always are very knowledgeable and helpful.
Great service and selection.
