I had a 50-minute Swedish massage and Alma did such an amazing job. She got so many knots out of my back and shoulders, great arm/hand and leg/foot massage. Really awesome full body experience! Plus I got a 15% off coupon from staying at Casa Munras.Highly recommend!

Other than having my appointment pushed back 25 minutes and then waiting an additional 15 minutes to be served, my massage therapist Rosi was excellent. Very professional and therapeutic! I would definitely recommend her!

I’ve only been to 2 spas in my life time but for being the second time I can say it was better than the first. The sparkling wine they offer is delicious and giving you a locker / robe and sandals was a great way to break you in. I chose the 50 minute deep tissue . The back and shoulder was spot on and amazing but the rest was like a significant other trying to shut you up to massage you . The first spa I went to with the massage therapist nailed everything but the back . You can’t be a beggar or chooser and be grateful with what’s given . I paid for a scalp massage but I wouldn’t do it again with this spa. The first one I ever went to was, I would most definitely pay him to do it again.

Great spa day experience celebrating my Birthday with my Best friend. The massage was excellent. I had been having lots of back pain prior to my massage. Cici was professional and did a great job working on my stress areas. I left feeling amazing.

What a gem here in monterey! I had no idea this spa was located in this hotel. Quaint little spa with nice touches and very clean. Locker rooms have showers and basic amenities/products which is really nice and a comfy little waiting area as well.My fiance booked this as a surprise for me and the receptionist was exceptionally friendly and helpful he said. If it was the same woman I met at the front then I can confirm she is very professional, helpful and friendly! My massage therapist was Cini (spelling?) and she did an amazing job. I got the polynesian massage experience and it left me very relaxed and soft from the scrub. I will definitely be back! Thanks!

Lysset was wonderful! I got the oxygen facial. I’ve had several facials here before but this one was new to me. I like to relax and not chat a lot and Lysset was the perfect balance of explaining what she was doing but also maintaining a peaceful environment. Her technique was great, overall a nice experience.

My experience was wonderful. I had considerable tension in my back, shoulders and neck. My therapist did a fantastic job to workout most of the tension in just a single session. I will return.

We had a couples massage at DESUAR and it was so lovely. I had Josh as my massage therapist and he was incredible. The space is very clean and I like that it was a smaller spa. Highly recommend and will definitely be coming back the next time we go to Monterey!

I got the 3hr overdose massage package. Sini was AMAZING!! I got a deep tissue massage in which she focused on my knots and problem areas beautifully. She pretty much threw the whole closet of treatments at me and made the experience wonderful. She was very sweet and friendly. And even gave a great restaurant recommendation for dinner for my 50th bday.

I wish I could leave zero reviews for this place. The website post that you will be treated like royalty. I was treated far from that after asking to speak to a supervisor. The girl told me shes in charge, the same girl, who I heard talking about me to the other receptionist, I confronted her about it and told her that sound travels and it was quite loud during my Bodywork session but hearing them explicitly talking about me and laughing was the final straw. My husband had treated me to 100 minute massage which was far from spa worthy. Being a massage therapist myself I know quality from someone who is tired and not wanting to be there. I understand that but when spending almost $350 Ill feel like my therapist should want to be there especially considering that a 20% tip was automatically added to the service.Upon asking the so-called girl in charge for the supervisors contact info she wrote down a fake email and phone number and after waiting almost a week for a contact from the spa I have received nothing. Im honestly shocked at this behavior on top of everything this was far from a top-notch spa they boast to use the highest quality products. That is clearly not the case as they use herbal essences for shampoo in the shower, and the towels at the hotel were far nicer than the ratty towels that were placed out in the womens locker room. This was a horrible experience and I really dont wish that anyone waste their money here. Ive been to the LA location and it was nothing like this.

Our massage therapist Anthony and Angie were amazing. The swedish massage was life changing. Our estheticians Lysset and Brenda did an incredible facial. Definitely recommend going here, so rejuvenating!

Adriana provides an excellent facial. I was given a relaxing facial by her skillfully working on my lymphatic system. High grade products are used at this spa. I purchased a package of facials, buy four get five to revive my winter dry skin. My facial skin has greatly improved and I still have two more facials to go. Happy with my decision to book here at Desuar with Adriana. I recommend her.

I am so happy my husband and I discovered this gem! I took him for his birthday on a little get away. I told him I was booking a massage for the two of us and he was not really excited, we never do things like this. Well let me tell you it was amazing and relaxing from the moment we arrived. Both our massage therapists were extremely professional and easy to be around. We both have a lot of tension and knots. My daughter and I took a road trip to Monterey and booked a couples massage at DESUAR Monterey Spa. It was the absolute best! The staff was friendly and accomodated our request for two female therapists, mine was Seena. She was knowledgeable and attentive. I had knots from head to toe and she worked everyone of them out leaving me relaxed and energized for the next 3 days. My daughter enjoyed her massage and looks forward to the next one. DESAUR will our go to Spa while in Monterey.

Lovely experience for my husband and I. We wanted to start our anniversary weekend off with a relaxing massage and thats exactly what we got. The deep tissue really is deep tissue. Our massage therapists, Rosie and Anthony, seemed experienced and knowledgeable as they worked out so many kinks and knots in our bodies. They asked questions & made sure to check in with us about the pressure to ensure we had the exact experience we wanted. The scalp and foot scrub were wonderful add ons as well, we thoroughly enjoyed. I loved the attention to detail throughout the spa. We were served sparkling peach bellini upon arrival and other refreshments and snacks were available while we waited. The locker rooms were even well detailed. I took a shower in the womens locker room after my massage & they had a very nice shampoo & conditioner to use, q tips, hair tools and lotion. It all felt very luxurious. What would have made this a five star review is if they had a sauna to sit in or a hot tub. Everything other than that was simply exquisite. Customer service was also A1. We will definitely be back.

I went to Desuar in Monterey for my first-ever facial and was immediately made to feel comfortable, heard, relaxed, and supported. Staff did a fantastic job showing me where everything was and offering me snacks and drinks to get started. Lysset did my facial and was amazing. Cannot recommend her enough! The products were high quality and Lysset explained what everything was to me as we went. My skin has never looked or felt better.

In celebration of my retirement, I treated myself to a massage while staying at Casa Munras. This was my first visit here and will not be my last. Walking into DESAUR, the spa zen atmosphere greeted me and whisked me into a robe of relaxation. Once changed out, I relaxed in the comfy nooks sipping on a Bellini. If you are ok with CBD, splurge on the gummy and the massage oil. It is a nice bonus to the treatment. I was soon greeted by Cini who whisked me away to the treatment room. Its been a while since Ive had a massage, and Cini was great! She took the time to learn what was best for me and began to work her magic. I appreciate that so much. Im already looking forward to my next visit!

Easy parking, the spa was clean and inviting. The locker room was clean and had showers and hair styling tools to freshen up after services. I had the CBD massage with Angie. She was so knowledgeable and intuitive! It was clear to me she is a professional through and through. She also shared that spa guests are welcome to use the pool area after services as well. There is a lovely area in the spa to relax before or after services, so be sure to allow yourself time to do so.

I actually had no idea that you could have a bad facial until I got a microdermabrasion facial here this weekend. Ive never left a facial with many of the blackheads I came in with? Also be aware of hidden fees (for their computer system) and make sure to ask if there is an extra charge for services they tell you you need while youre in the seat; I was told that I needed a mask for the swelling on my face and it was unexpectedly an up charge? It sounded routine.

My wife booked a session for the two of us and it was amazing. The atmosphere is nice and you feel like you’re in the right place. They greet you with a glass of sparkling wine. You don’t feel rushed or anything. All there is to do is layback and enjoy

Absolutely wonderful facial and five-star experience all around. I came for extractions and skin-clearing, and the facialist did such a wonderful job!! It was a very effective, skilled facial and also unbelievably relaxing, with her gently massaging in clean, natural, super fancy products. I couldn’t use one common ingredient in the anti-acne facial regimen, so she had already chosen some swaps that would still work for my skincare needs without that ingredient, which was very thoughtful. Front desk was great and it’s just so serene in there. Definitely recommend!

Hands down, one of the best massage experiences my wife and I have ever had. They accommodated us for a last-minute couple’s massage, which was super convenient. My therapist had amazing strength and even checked in to make sure the pressure was just right. I walked out with my back, shoulders, and neck feeling a world better. I found a great promo online and decided to make a reservation. From the moment we arrived till the time we had to leave we received the best customer service. Front desk was so sweet. Alma gave me one of the best massages ever! & Korinna was also great. Honestly this place is so worth it. Loved every second here. So clean, so professional and so relaxing! ☺️

Cini is an angel currently in the form of a masseuse. She is channeling energy on an elevated spiritual level of healing. I rarely receive massage therapy, and I am so grateful for her. 🙏🏼 At almost 40, and a mother of two young children, as well as working a physically demanding job, my chronic pain has become a daily struggle. She worked on areas of my body that have been stiff with pain and tension, and I can actually stand on one foot without pain after her treatment. I cannot recommend her highly enough.

I was able to get a same day appt. for my sore back that kept getting worse. Angie was wonderful and I am pain free for the first time in weeks. I also had a spa finder gift card to apply and the receptionist was very diligent about trying different entries until it was accepted. Overall, I gad a very positive experience and plan to return.

Clean, comfortable, relaxing and extremely attentive staff. However, they seemed unprepared for my partner and I. As a male, my partner was given the stronger individual, but I am an athlete and it seemed my massage therapist did not have the strength or experience to thoroughly meet my needs. My partner raves about his therapist and I wish I had an experience similar to him. We will definitely be back, hopefully this time when there is more staff and people to meet both my and my partners needs.

I was surprised to learn that this spa is under new ownership from the last times my husband and I had visited, but that didn’t change their phenomenal service. My massage therapist was Alma. I highly recommend her her. She gave me the best deep tissue massage. Many massage therapists don’t give me the pressure I want and I leave feeling unsatisfied, but not Alma. She gave me exactly what I wanted and knew what my body needed. She is very experienced and intuitive to your bodies needs. We will definitely be back and I will definitely be name requesting her. I was vacationing in Monterey and my friend and I decided we would pamper ourselves with a massage and facial. We were very pleased with the services, however, when we went to pay they tacked on a $30. fee each. The clinician tried to explain what it was for but it was very sketchy to us. The price that was posted for our services was actually $30.00 more not including the tip we gave. It seems like false advertising. If they had tacked on the $30. to the price Im sure there wouldnt be many customers because the price wasnt cheap or discounted. The fee wasnt posted anywhere in advance.

I had a wonderful spa day, welcoming and attentive staff. I received the best facial with Lysset, she is knowledgeable and took great care of my skin concerns. I definitely recommend the Nano Pen LED facial, my skin looked unreal!!

Peaceful and easy to find gem in dt Monterey. I like all the services they offer, but Ive only done facials here. (Ive heard the massages are awesome )Im planning on doing consistent regimens from here because I believe its quality, well priced and good products that you dont see other places. Ive gotten the pioneere and the micro needling so far and have been pleased with the facials. Very relaxing and calming since I have sensitive skin. The aesthesians are meticulous and gentle. The whole place is well kept and clean and the snacks are a nice plus! Plenty of parking si ce its connected to casa munras.

I had a really bizarre experience here with one of the massage therapists. Apparently, she has her own masking policy. This was not mentioned at time of booking. This was not mentioned at time of check in. This was mentioned only once I was disrobed and on the table face down. It was very off-putting. I was booked for a $192 deep tissue massage. It was very chaotic, and she used her fingertips and thumbs primarily I told her she could warm up the tissues first and then definitely go deeper. She never used any deep tissue massage techniques on me. She spent a lot of time grabbing at my back fat? Made me feel very uncomfortable. It seemed she just could not have the skills to give a deep tissue massage. When the massage was done she left the room, left the curtain wide open (they have curtains and not doors). To credit the spa, when I called and voiced my complaints, they did do everything they could to make it right. They rebooked my appointment with Alma. Alma was great. She was definitely trained and skilled in deep tissue massage. She had a good intuition about where I needed more pressure and attention. I left the spa very relaxed, and slept for hours after my treatment. Thank you, Alma! If you go here, request Alma.

I enjoyed a Swedish massage with aromatherapy. From the moment I walked in to the time I left I felt welcomed. The atmosphere was very relaxing and my treatment was exceptional. I left feeling renewed.

First time visit and had a package with the connected hotel Casa Munras Garden Hotel & Spa for a 50m deep tissue massage. I added on a body wrap/scrub, as well as CBD oils. The front desk staff went above effort to ensure I was prepped in advance and confirmed. My therapist, Angie was fantastic. She did both massage and the scrub treatment - and truly I was bundle of relaxation when she was done. When I got home a charge had hit my card that was in error and after a quick call to their front desk, I received a text from the CFO apologizing and issuing the refund to me super fast. Really like this spa - and will be back!

Love this place! First, they have chocolate and tea. Second my massage therapist was awesome. I normally prefer female therapists, but none were available so I tried a guy. He was awesome! He used several different techniques to get knots out of my back and shoulder and I walked out feeling 2 inches taller. This is my new spot whenever in Monterey.

Nice calming experience. Did not have my face exfoliated or massaged as part of package. Would have enjoyed more hair and body products after showering.

I expected a relaxing massage. The person who massaged talked the entire time. I scheduled a 1 1/2 hour massage. My massage was 1 hour and 10 min. The whole time In conversation. Not the service I was paying for. Felt more like I was a therapist to the healer. I did not get what I needed and felt drained after due to the conversation. I had to have my husband run my shoulders after. Parts were uncomfortable being that I am a black woman. References to my hair and if it was extensions or my own hair growth. Discussions around future business ventures for the massager. Anyway, because I’m used to people talking to me. I did not ask for her to stop. I assumed there is a understanding that a person paying for a massage is not paying for a conversation. I should have made a request to stop talking throughout the service I was paying for that was not fulfilled according to the profession , and cut short of the time I was paying for, to then be presented for a bill for the full 1 1/2 hour service 10 minutes before the service was to be completed. It was disrespectful. Humanly wrong. However. I still left a $20 tip. I mean. We are all trying 😏😏. Not going back. It was an experience though.

Denise is an excellent massage therapist. The value was very good on the 50 minute massage. She covered a lot of ground with a unique approach that got into a number of my sore areas that needed work. Definitely recommend Denise.
