My favourite place for a night out in Vienna! The atmosphere is absolutely unbeatable especially on Wednesday Blues Jams. So many artists are showing off their prowess. Absolute delight. The staff is also friendly, the beer is at its freshest and prices are affordable. 5 EUR minimum in cash for the band but cards are accepted for consumption. Tiny place so come early!

Awesome little bar with live blues music. The food menu is small but decent, good drink choices, and good service. We were here twice during our 1 week visit in Vienna.

Genuine Blues venue. Can get a little cramped but, its good to be involved in the atmosphere. Musicians on the Wednesday jam night are generally very good...... the female singers ??Maybe not so much.Oh, and it has the busiest, hard-working, friendliest, most efficient barman in Vienna. He seems to be able to do 10 things at once.

Had an absolutely wonderful time with my wife! We had the chance to enjoy Al Cook & Bands amazing blues tunes and good beer. Thank you Al, Briggette, the bartender and the lady who confirmed our stay even though we did not have reservation and the lady who sang a couple of songs (Im sorry, I dont know your names). Definitely pay a visit if you are in Vienna and love blues.

Incredible. If anyone needs a definition of good chaos, itd be this place. Its the closest thing to I imagine a good ol music pub to be; you know, the truck stop pub in a small town typically featured in movies?Music plays every Wed to Sat night, starting at 8pm. Except for the traditional blues jam session every Wed night, every other night you have something different. There are nights with Gospel, nights with Delta Blues, nights with Ragtime, nights where they mix Blues with Country. They have high quality musicians here. The level of impromptu is REALLY HIGH, which is what Blues should be. Not much Jazz over here; this is Blues country, although some musicians might disagree with me on this distinction.If youre interested in visit, I share with you a few tips. The place is really small! So you either want to stand the whole time, and I did that quite a few times, or make a reservation before hand. Make sure you bring cash to tip the musicians; you will be asked. Although I saw people tip with coins before, I also saw people got scolded for doing that. So better bring paper cash. Its 5 euros minimum, and you can get changed. No entry fees for music. Drinks and foods are actually decent. Except for tips, everything can be paid with card.All in all, its a very relaxing and exciting environment. I strongly recommend anyone, alone or with a group, who looks for a high quality music night out on a budget.

Highly recommended place for Blues-Lovers! The atmosphere in the pub is always very uplifting, everybody is in a good mood & the musicians play with passion. It´s easy to meet new people here, everybody is welcome & treated like a family member.The bar owners take very good care of their guests. Great music, reasonably priced drinks and the barman was lovely. Sadly ruined the evening by a woman coming and demanding cash for the music, we had been there for 20 or so minutes. I spent €30 on drinks and sadly we had spent all cash for the day and had some coins left over which I gave, however was made to feel unwelcome by the €5 in coins I paid and was also told “no coins”. I’ve run live music venues and have always paid my musicians well or given them some great perks for the service. A forceful “donation” left us having to leave earlier than we’d of liked and not being able to return.In addition* you mention I was told to leave when I left with no fuss? Why say such gastly things, you are a disgrace to the live music industry. I run live music venues and pay my music staff, maybe you should do the same since you don’t see them as a reasonable expenditure for a “blues pub”, revolting reply.

Disrespectful owners, forcing to pay for music that I never ordered. Apparently my partner was “sent off”, when he left due to his own decision because of the atmosphere left by the woman with her hat. A few others have agreed on here that sadly being forced to pay for something you haven’t ordered is wrong. It’s a shame as it would have been a venue we revisited daily. Hopefully one day the owners will have the heart to pay their musicians and up their drink prices, then can then secure fair pay for musicians and equally profit from the service.

Accidentally stumbled upon this great place for blues and rocknroll and had the kick. The live music was absolutely brilliant. The surprise was the food - fresh, tasty, recommend by the owner. The lager was cold and tasty. The whole package on hundred percent. Thanks for your hospitality.

Loved this place. Very cool, and cozy. The bat manager and his wife are brilliant. The beer is cold and tasty. We got a load of free eggnog shots to help celebrate Easter and the musician was great. I would bring and extra 5-10 euros to put in for the music thats on but it is worth it

I am frequent guest at the LBP, its one of the best live music places in Vienna, especially the Session on Wednesday, an absolute MUST...

We love going to this cozy pub to hear some live blues music. It is close to the Belvedere palace for a stop in to have a drink and listen to music. This is a small place and holds only 57 people so you should make reservations to ensure you can attend. The drinks are very reasonable in price and the owner and staff are very friendly and love to chat with their guests. They also offer a selection of foods if you didn’t have dinner before arriving for the 20:00 music sessions. Stop in if you love love music you will not be upset that you did!

I went there hoping to enjoy a nice time listening to some live music and, although the show was very good, the waitress was very disrespectful with us. We ordered some beer and food and she seemed annoyed and made us feel really uncomfortable. We thought about leaving the place but stayed and enjoyed the music but it is definitely a place I would not recommend to a foreigner since she makes you feel like you dont belong there.

Excellent pub to see live music. The crowd was a great mix of people from all around the world and the musician, Danny Chicago, invited people up to sing along or play their own original tunes. The cherry on top was the best Gumbo that I’ve had outside of New Orleans. Highly recommend stopping by!

The beer was nice and the gentleman behind the bar was friendly. Thats where the good part eneded. We arrived, the band sang 2 songs and then the lady behind the bar demanded €5 per person for the music, we werent even finished our first drinks and found this a little odd. We work in the music industry and have never come across this before in any country. Surely the onus should be on the bar to pay the band and not the customers? A cover charge would be more appropriate than charging people who have just sat down. Pay your musicians a decent wage and you wont have people complaining.

Half an hour into listening the live music we were made to pay min 5 Euros per person for the musician. Which would be fine but this should be told upon entering the pub/indicated somewhere. And not demanded in an unfriendly tone, like the case was.

Great place to go if you want to hear nice music but i was there just for an hour and the only bartender was so disrespectful and drunk. When we ordered some food she frowned upon us and left without saying anything as if she didnt want to go into the kitchen. The rest was really good but she made us feel out of place and really uncomfortable. NOT RECOMMENDED FOR TOURISTS

5 euro for amateur music, never seen it before. We listened to two songs and passive aggressive lady made us pay. Definitely a handy way to get the blues alright 👍

I would call this place home, easily. The music is amazing, the man behind the bar is the happiest person to attend you, came here with friends and received the best attention. Awesome place, saved as favourite for sure.

We Went to see a band and they made us feel rejected because we are not from Austria. Dont go there if you are foreign. The woman bartender was not kind at all. One old man kicked my backpack and another young man kept telling us to move all the time. Disrespectful

The bar lady is very rude. If you give coins to her and for the live music she gets very rude and humiliates you. And says that yheir minimum is 5 euros. These people try to charge you for everything. There is a sign on the toilet that you have to pay 50 cents if you are not a customer. Normally in any pubs in Vienna if you need to use toilet there is no charge!!!!! There are many complaints about this pub on google because of the same reasons!!!!

My partner and I went to this place last night for a blues jam session. Small but super welcoming place. Beautiful evening, excellent environment and artists of the highest level. It was a lot of fun! We drank some great beer and ate some delicious food. The staff is very kind and super fast.

Terrible. I “walked into” a gig. I ordered a large beer and drank it. The landlady walked around with her hat on and didnt accept that I didnt have any cash. After repeated assurances from me, she said that when I was paying I could then tell the landlord to give the band some of the tip. And when I wanted to pay, the landlord extorted five euros from me as support for an old-school blues band, without any drive, without any feeling (except for the drummer), which I saw for a handful of songs, since he was with the two Euros, which I actually didnt want to give them, was not satisfied. Weve been to the blues session on Wednesdays several times, and every time its an experience. The boss plays great, the boss is funny and the dachshund is always there too. Everyone was very friendly, the musicians were exceptional. We will be back.

I was visiting Vienna and came to this restaurant through a Viennese friend. It was a great evening with great music, nice people and good food. F.G. Hacker and Screamin Silm were unbeatably good. Generous recognition of artistic achievement is a given. Greetings from Munich and it certainly wont be my last visit. Overall, a great thing!

Totally “ringard” as the French would say. A real pub. And the audience is too old. Not nice. Not hip. But all of it together is just wonderful once the music starts. Intoxicating. Great artists. And the eyes start to shine. Your feet tap, your vocal cords suddenly sing along. And then this whole place suddenly exudes an atmosphere that all the trashy in-locations and hip venues just cant match. Singing, bluesy evenings guaranteed.

The Lusiana has been around for what feels like forever. One of the few constantly busy live stages in Vienna. A bit tight, if a band is playing inside the space can be tight.Definitely a watch if you like blues and rock. Insider tip: The blues legend Al Cook plays there very often!

We happened to come to this restaurant on Wednesday after a concert. Musicians were able to play live again and everyone was very welcoming. I would describe the pub as unique. Thanks again for the lovely evening.

Fun little shop. Very nice staff. Live music was cool. The only thing that doesnt work that way is when it comes to filling beer glasses. Far below the calibration mark. Even if the foam had still gone down. The two of us had several and each time the prices of the drinks were a little higher. But the atmosphere is wonderful. Thats why we werent bothered by it.

Looking for a place with live music, we ended up at the “Louisiana Blues Pub”. When we arrived we had some doubts as the place is very small (+/- 25 seats => make sure to reserve) and the service seemed a bit overwhelmed. But luckily we stayed. What a pleasant surprise:- The music (Danny Chicago on guitar, accompanied by Bernadette Schlembach! on violin) was of a quality worthy of the best folk blues concerts;- The place was full of musicians and from time to time some of them took part in the concert (vocals, saxophone, harmonica, guitar, etc.) ;- The atmosphere was familiar and very pleasant;- The service was super friendly (Michael, if youre reading this: thanks from the guys from Luxembourg);- Surprisingly good food (we took the Lousiana Gambo 3 times!) ;- We sympathized with almost all customers ;- An all-round successful evening.Unfortunately, we only discovered this place on the last day of our trip. The Louisiana Blues Pub is a perfect reason to return to Vienna. We will be back :)

I was there two evenings at the weekend: great atmosphere, great musicians, the guests both local and international and great service from the boss and her employees.

The woman was extremely rude and literally told us to leave because there were 3 of us and only 2 people wanted to drink, she didnt accept that one person at the table was left without a drink!!! In addition to being tiny and can fit a maximum of 15 people. Ive never given a negative review, but I insist on this one.

Of course there is no question that the Louisiana Blues Pub is a legend; countless blues legends have been guests there.I like going there for the music.But to be honest its a bit too much for me.The friendliness of the staff depends on the day, so typically Viennese.Id rather go to Quattro every other week where the boss has a rude Viennese insult.
