Excelente Place to be on a mid to late afternoon or the perfect place for a Friday or Saturday night life. Great atmosphere socializing with your family and friends or your other half.I highly recommend Bernie’s!!

3.5 stars ⭐️A surprising find of what looks like a dive bar serving pretty good meals to locals and travelers.We had the Korean beef ribs, pizzas, salad, chicken wings and everything was yummier than expected.The cocktail I ordered was dismal though, the Gummy Bear tasted like cough syrup. Avoid!The wait staff is friendly and fairly efficient, although seemed a bit spaced out at times.Overall, a surprising find!

Ive stayed on the Vegas Strip, Music Row Nashville, Mardi Gra New Orleans and none of those places come close to circum navigating noise pollution. For this reason they deserve 5 stars.

Great place to gather with friends for drinks and enjoy some live music. Definitely a spot for tourists and visitors to check out. Outdoor seating is abundant and is definitely where this bar thrives. There are heat lamps and smoking areas, along with an outdoor stage for performances. On the ground level inside, there is a bar area and a small seating area. They have a decent beer selection from local brews to domestic beers. With that being said, this isnt a place for beer enthusiasts to gather and try a variety of local beers. The mixed drinks are affordable and decently made. Upstairs they have a dance floor and another small bar area. The staff are generally friendly and I always have a great time when Im here. They have a suitable menu and Ive been told that the pad thai is to die for. No vegan options of course. Hopefully theyll evolve and their menu will include vegan options in the future.

Right around the corner from the Four Points by Sheraton. Little bar /restaurant with large outdoor courtyard. Simple varietal menu delicious in taste amd comparable prices. First meal was a french dip that I had for a late lunch. Order chicken strips with fries to go for later as hotel only has breakfast. Not disappointed at all with flavor or price. Staff is friendly and fast. 3rd order is their 1/2 pound burger (pic doesnt do it justice) its huge with the works. Red onion sliced thin so adds flavor but not overwhelm. Fries crispy an lightly seasoned. Ordered to go and walked back to the hotel still hot. Thank you Bernies bumgalow for making meal time enjoyable and priced right. I will be a repeat customer 👍🏻👍🏻

Atmosphere is great, outside patio is perfect for summer time. It very quite until 5-6pm. Main dishes and appetizers are delicious and reasonable prices.

I like Kalbi and some cocktail. Good to hang out with friends. But on that day no concert 😕. Next time I will be there.

Got me a Spicy Ahí Poke Tuna dish, a relatively risky move for what is basically a bar, but it worked out well for me. My (undear) companions risked it with some sushi and that went well for them, too. We ate it up with chopsticks, conversation, and a little live music courtesy of some very engaging and entertaining band what had some ska flavors but did a little bit of everything under the sun. Got my nose waterin good-like, yhear?

This is one of our go to summer spots but better go early if the suns out. The tables will go quickly. The patio is large and probably the best one in Anchorage. They also have decent drink prices and the live music great. There are multiple bars and wait staff so the service is pretty quick. Lots of great bar food choices plus there is an adjoining sushi restaurant if youd rather have that instead of bar food. We will definitely be going many more times this summer.

Bernies never disappoints. I love the appetizers and the consistency of the food leaves a lot of downtown spots behind. Staff is cordial, attentive and energetic. I am an early bird...so I have to say, the staff does its best....in front and in the kitchen, to be energetic and friendly. To be fair, on a sunny crowded day...which I wish them many of now that it is finally Solstice....soak up the sun and give the staff a chance to deliver.

Love this place! Great time at Bernies! My friends and I are Always having a great time when we go here. The drinks 🍸🍷🍺🍻🍹are always poured perfectly to my liking and they participate in local events and host events that are worth attending! If you are looking for somewhere to go then choose Bernies! Youll be happy you stopped in!

LOVED IT! Our server Sarah was PERFECT! It was really busy and she was working alone and handled all our special requests with ease and smiles. She checked on us multiple times and my friend who had never been there said he loved the patio and experience and wanted to come back with other friends soon to enjoy the sun and patios relaxed atmosphere.

It was a slow night when we went, but it was a cute place. The Bartender was hilarious and made our night. He was so relaxed and really nice. The drinks were delicious. Remember the exquisite crystal glasses that they use to serve their drinks. Haha!

Great burger and fries for $10 highly recommend for the end of the night or a quick lunch with friends. Theres usually pretty good music and a decently full dance floor on the weekends. Overall a good place to hang out with friends.

Great drinks and good prices, and the area is great with a different spot for each type of chill. Only downside is the dance floor gets super crowded so you cant even get on to the same level unless you push your way in, but its got good music, no cover charge, live DJs and a good vibe.

This pace was a lot of fun. It was easy to find a place to sit and chill and they played a nice mix of old and new music. That being said, I primarily went for the hookah which they evidently dont serve anymore so I was a little disappointed. The food was fairly good and the drinks were expensive but fair for Alaska standards (about $10). Cover charge was $6 CASH with no open ATMs nearby. There is an ATM inside but I dont know if they allow people to enter to get cash to pay the cover charge.

Server was great but we had asked for heat lamps 2-3 times and each time we were told they were out of propane and 5 minutes later a security guard would happen to find a tank for another group. Server was nice and apologized for it but communication is key with coworkers. Food was pretty good.

We got there right before closing. Loved the staff and atmosphere, the restroom was clean and bright, the outdoor space was massive and had heaters, which was very nice with the temperature dropping. Highly recommend.

This place looks neat from the outside, and I always wanted to go have a beer on the patio! It was a little odd to find that it is kind of a smoking parlor, but I was willing to overlook that.My experience ended up TERRIBLE.We had dinner on the patio, and I was brought food that looked pretty awesome! Until I realized that there were all sorts of little green fly like bugs cooked into just about all of the food. The veggies, the rice, all of it had these little dead bugs in it! The waitress tried to say that they must have gotten on the food from being outside, but I literally watched her walk out the door and bring us the food. No way was there time for that many bugs to get on the food and subsequently die in that one minute time span.When I asked to be refunded, and gave the food back, the waitress balked, and said she couldnt do that. I insisted. (honestly felt bad for her, its not like it was her fault the food had been cooked in an unclean kitchen.) We ended up having to talk to the manager to make sure we werent charged for the buggy dinner. It was a big hassle and everyone we spoke to was rude and not very apologetic or understanding. I will never go here again, which is a bummer because it looked really fun.AVOID.

Too all these 4-5 star reviews I see for this place is outrageous. Most likely rigged just to seem theyre a great spot in Anchorage. I hate fake reviews!1.) The security guards are very RUDE and DISREPECTFUL. *Especially the group of men on the back end.2.) Not a welcoming atmosphere.3.) Long line and wait for over priced hookah, foods and drinks.4.) Youre off spending your time and money elsewhere.

Bernies is such a fun, relaxed atmosphere with board games indoors and a great outdoor lounge for chatting or enjoying a cigar. They have a fun drink menu and some of the best gyoza in town

Google says theyre closed on Sunday afternoon but theyre not, THANK GOD. This place has amazing food surprisingly, anything u get on the menu will satisfy you. I love the calamari and beef teriyaki. Everything is fairly cheap but food always turns out great. Their drinks are good but could be stronger. I need three margaritas just to feel buzzed but hey a nice sized marg for $7 is fine by me

Had a lot of fun at Bernies the last few times Ive visited. Theyre open late and the atmosphere is really fun, especially outside when its dark and a little chilly and the heaters are on and fires are lit. Food is excellent and the service isnt bad either. Would definitely recommend visiting !

Are you kidding me?Bernies reopened? I moved to Texas and let me tell after you 30 years in Alaska this is in my Top 3 of missed places. Great cocktails, food and fun.

We have had a great time in Alaska but this was the WORST EXPERIENCE and service I have ever had. We entered this establishment for its apparent easy ambience. After waiting 10-15 minutes with no service I entered the bar area to ask a simple question, was the Rosé sweet or dry. I was informed dryish, unhelpful, so I asked again the same question sweet or dry. This obviously upset the man behind behind the bar who then asked for my ID, dutifully I showed my Australian photo Driver Licence which I have shown previously and been accepted. I am also over 60. After a cursory examination I was told this was inadequate and that they were more diligent than other organisations and they were required to have a US ID or passport. According to the relevant Alaskan statute this is not correct unless there was a specific problem with my ID yet the “gentleman” never even properly looked at it. I then went and retrieved my passport, again cursory perusal, then I was told that was not enough as I had 2 drinks on order and I needed the passport for my wife.This was a very unsavoury and completely unnecessary abuse of this gentleman’s position, as someone who has undertaken a responsible service of alcohol course and hold a valid certificate for service of alcohol I found this man to be completely unsuitable for his present position. He either doesn’t know the relevant statute or deliberately misrepresented it in an effort to wind me up and get me to leave just because I asked if a wine was sweet or dry. I cannot recommend this establishment and would suggest management review its HR recruitment process. I repeat the WORST EXPERIENCE in ALASKA.

First time I had been here was a couple years ago, around 2011, went with friends, family and coworkers although most of the times I recall it being too crowded. Went this year on whim. Pizza was good, had a beer, a hookah, chatted with the boyfriend and weather was cloudy but pleasant. It was my bfs first time going and we both enjoyed it. Music selection wasnt too genre heavy, surprised to hear dubstep occasionally. Waitresses were there, checked on us once or twice but had to go into the bar area a few times for an order. Fun stuff otherwise.

We just had our Holiday party here last Friday and it was AWESOME! The planning and set up went smoothly. The staff was super nice and the food was great! Thanks again Bernies!!

Unique classy/quirky spot that the locals love! Theres a fun outdoor garden & patio w/murals for taking photos and even a huge dragon fountain wishing well. Sushi bar and lots of live music on the outdoor stage in summer. A hotspot for sure!

I came during the afternoon and the food was great as well as the cocktails. The food is so filling, and I will be coming back. Service may be slow due to the vast amount of people coming in, but this place is definitely somewhere to return to.

Its a downtown Bar. Has an outdoor area. Music food drink. Upstairs downstairs. Bathrooms of course. You can go afternoon get something to lunch on, or night to get something else to munch 😁In a nutshell its a bar with outdoor area open late morning to late nightI would say the menu has average prices for downtown. I was looking for somewhere where I could have a cigar and some food. This place is perfect. The pizza was fantastic. This is not a fake review as others have suggested. Im a visitor from out of town, and truly enjoyed my time at Bernies.

You have to be caring the passport if you don’t have US issues ID if you want to be served in this place. The staff is very meticulous even if you have a drivers license from another country. Really??? This never happens in any other place in the world. Be aware!!!!

Ok atmosphere, decent drinks. I understand that they try to combine drinks on 1 card for convenience, but its kind of annoying sorting out finances, or sorting out who owes who.

Normi it is good. Went to take my wife out for lunch as she works close by. I got there before her and ordered. She arrived and after 25 minutes I asked how much longer on our food as we were the only ly people there. The order never went in. So to they made it fast and didnt charge us for one entre. But the food is always good there.

Too many people cutting in line. Need more security keeping an eye on that, it makes us have to wait even longer.In my opinion, not worth the 45 minutes standing outside on the sidewalk.Also maybe consider installing benches around the bush/waiting line outside?

I would like to start with I ❤️ This spot. My wife and I both work DT and our child is in school DT. This is a great place for us on any sunny day. Today we were told @ the door that no one under drinking age was allowed in due to Covid mandates. Only people drinking are aloud in. A fun space in the summer with a sprawling patio like area. However, food is overpriced (even for downtown, though not horribly so), drinks are lightly poured, and service is spotty at best.

Bouncer was the rudest person I’ve ever met!!! I just turned 21 and offered $20 dollars for me and my friend to get it, I accidentally dropped my money and he picked it up and waved it in my face mocking me! Y’all coulda made $20 on two girls and easily made more money on us buying shots😂😂😂 bad business honestly

We had a MORTIFYING experience with the staff members last night. First, I accidentally dropped my 20 dollar bill and the bouncer picked it up and walked away with it. Then, when another bouncer told him to give it back, he proceeded to dangle it above our heads and laugh at us. When I asked politely to have it back he tossed it carelessly over our heads and walked away. We are so horrified that a staff member would treat us like that, especially when Bernie’s used to be one our favorite places to hang out. We’re life long Alaskan’s and I’ve never experienced such horrible service and character. We are so truly disappointed.

I visited this place with a friend. The food was decent, the atmosphere on the off hours is nice, however the service was extremely slow. On the weekends this place turns to into a party more than a buisness. I would stay away from this place if you dont like the full party experiance and are willing to take that kind of risk.

We searched the website for a cover and didnt see any info and after waiting over an hour found out there is a 6$ cover (which is fine) that is cash only...in this day and age of u are going to do something like that u should have it noted on your website.. not on a tiny sign in a bush!

You may want to remind your bartenders that discrimination based on sex is illegal. Words cant express my disgust or angst for what occurred here this past Friday. My friend and I not only got the brunt of a nasty bartenders attitude when we asked for water, but then we were ignored so she could serve MEN instead, they were clearly more interesting than us. Honey trust me, had you been nice I would have tipped you more than they ever would have. Shame on you, and shame on Bernies for not training their staff better. This behavior is inexcusable and pathetic on her part. She even tried to have us kicked out, where the security guard refused to do so and apologized on her behalf (according to him she gets alot of complaints). It is really sad that ONE bad bartender could ruin a whole experience. Years of running restaurants and bars in NYC and never have a come across such POOR or hostile customer service. Bernies, you want to make money? I suggest you ditch the nasty bartender. I am still debating if i should notify the BBB for poor conduct and blatant discrimination.

Great place with live music, and a good beer selection. Have a great area outside thats awesome in the summer, and if you can handle the cold, also awesome in the winter.

This establishment denied Canadian drivers license holder access to their bar claiming that the only International photo ID accepted is passport. This is ridiculous in all my travels I have never been denied entry into a bar especially in any US state I have visited where Canadian drivers license has always been accepted and this is my reason for my low rating of this nightclub. All the other nightclubs in the area have allowed me access with my Canadian Ontario drivers license so its inconsistent that this specific nightclub has this position.
