Its one of the best steaks I have ever eaten. Everything was delicious. The dessert was amazing. Highly recommend this place.

WOW! Took my 15 year old son out for his birthday and it was a fantastic experience. The restaurant is gorgeous! The staff is 6 star friendly, helpful and kind. The food... The food is incredible! Metro 8 is a steakhouse with a more than steak menu. Everything we ordered was great! This is certainly our go to formal restaurant.

I had a few people recommended Metro 8 but never had the chance to make it here until last week when I took some colleagues here for a business dinner. The service and food were both excellent. The steaks were cooked perfectly and fantastic flavor. Three dsserts were shared between the 6 of us and it was just the right amount with how rich they were. The only more neutral observation was that my 32oz ribeye was slightly smaller than I expected yet the flavor made up for it. Would definitely come here again. Oh, the rolls and the jalapeño cilantro cream cheese that came out before appetizers was the best rolls Ive ever had in a restaurant!

All of the food was top tier. The Alfredo spinach is just spinach and Alfredo so its a bit different but not bad. The bread and herbed butter were 4/5. Proteins were well seasoned and cooked right. Lamb chops 5/5 Skirt steak 5/5. Both came with some red herbed up vinegarette which was underwhelming. Both meats could use specific specialized sauces for the price. But sauceless the skirt steak was great tender and juicy and the lamb chops were S teir a must try item. The French fries were perfectly crispy and fluffy 5/5. The ranch is pretty much store bought. On a whole this place would be heavenly if the sauce game was better. The service was great but the atmosphere feels slightly dull but the food and people make up for it.

We had an amazing experience. We made reservations prior and were able to avoid any wait time. We had asked for a secluded table when we made reservations, and they were able to accommodate our request. We had a great table which happened to be next to their beautiful Christmas tree, which added a nice magical touch to our experience. We had the provoleta and chorizo for our appetizer and both were delicious. My husband had the cowboy ribeye and said it was the best he has had. So tender and juicy and seasoned perfectly. I had their popular Churrasco steak, and it was equally amazing. Their sides are a little basic but still very tasty. Overall, we had a great time and enjoyed the food. The service was great, and the whole staff works together to take care of you. It was refreshing to see. We would definitely make our way back.

The food is delightful. Highly recommend the skirt steak and lobster raviolis. Also, the chocolate soufflé is just perfect.Service is excellent. Our server, Dee, made our birthday celebration special. Wednesday night is half off wine night, so that is nice as well.

In town for a funeral and Metro 8 happened to be across the street from the funeral home. The smell of steak wafting from the roof inticed us to try them out.We were greeted promptly upon entering. We were happy to be seated without a reservation. Our server Dee was friendly and informative, but spoke as if in a hurry. Although the menu is not large , the fusion of Italian and Argentinian was intriguing yet I was in doubt of my entree choice.We started with the cheese and tomato appetizer and the squash soup. The cheese appetizer needed help. The tomatoes were plain jane ( could have used heirloom, or multicolored cherry tomatoes) the seasoning on top were just dried up shaker seasonings. It really needed fresh basil , garlic, something...even if they offered it with a little Argentinian sausage. It fell flat.The soup was definitely squash soup. It needed a drop of sherry or chicken broth. It was ok.We ordered the 1/2 churrasco steak medium with asparagus and the Gnocci pasta in a pink sauce with churrasco as well ( I know it was a strange mix ) The steak was good. Would probably never order the pasta combo again. The asparagus were cooked perfect and not overly seasoned. A dinner roll/bun with a jalapeño, cream cheese was served throughout the dining experience. Another strange combination.Also the hurried theme of explaining the concept was noticed at other tables nearby. Even the owner who was greeting and serving, addressed tables that way.Dessert was Key Lime Pie. My favorite thing all night.The owner dropped off our check and immediately after , the owner grabbed the check presenter book as soon as we placed our card inside. I was not finished drinking my wine and was not in a hurry. There was no one waiting for our table. She came back as quickly as she picked it up. My husband started to add gratuity and sign the bill, but noticed a difference in the bill and what was charged to our card. Upon closer inspection, we found out that she charged our card with a different tables bill. It was 20$ more than our bill. I called the busser/table attendant over and showed him the discrepancy, which he quickly took back to the owner. I could hear her say, I got it, I got it, I got it She voided the charge and brought it back promptly, but dropped the check server and said nothing and basically buzzed away. I get that mistakes happen, but it just left us feeling like we were a production line or a bother.My advice to the owner, slow down , enjoy your guests. Your staff was doing a great job, just remember its dinner not lunch.I want to add that my husband and myself, eat out every meal , 99% of our time. We travel for our business and we are also restaurant people. He was a chef and I a server for many years with upscale experience.

Exquisite dining experience. The service was completely on point, classy and professional. Perfect place to celebrate an event or enjoy a steak and some wine. The filet with au poivre sauce was amazing - cooked perfectly tender.

We came for an anniversary dinner and we were blown away! The food was excellent the servers were attentive and went the extra mile. Steaks melted in your mouth. Be sure to make a reservation as it fills up quickly for dinner hour

Brought my aunt here for her 60th birthday. Was constantly being told something different when trying to make reservations. Finally got everything sorted out with the reservation. When we arrived at the restaurant was told by the owner we had to be done eating by a certain time because another party was coming. Was not told that on the phone when making the reservations. The owner was not very friendly. Felt like she was trying to rush us. Then someone in our group was not satisfied with his order and he was told that he could not change his order he had to keep it and purchase something else in addition to what he already had. So not very accommodating. The food wasn’t bad but the owner can be more friendly.

Passing through, local friends took me here. They spoke highly of the restaurant and its owners. I ordered the churrasco steak and it was incredible, extremely tender and delicious. the wait staff was fantastic. they were very attentive and couldnt have been better.The owners of this restaurant are doing something special 10/10.

I came here on a whim, and also to celebrate my birthday. the food was on point, Im a big lover of Argentinian steak. the one I got was a great birthday gift: NY strip. I couldnt finish it it was that epic. Cooked to perfection! great find.

I went to Metro 8 a few days ago with my husband and the service was terrible. We waited 10 minutes before our waitress came to ask what drink we wanted. When the food finally came they gave me the wrong dressing. My glass of water was empty numerous times and I had to go find the waitress and ask for more water. We got the cowboy ribeye and the New York strip and it wasn’t that good. Metro 8 had a very limited cocktail menu of drink I would not consider a true cocktail. I do not recommend anyone to come here and I will not be coming back. I expect more because of the rating and the recommendation I was giving by people I know, but this is a no for me. They need to get better service and learn how to cook a steak better.

Such an amazing food experience. Customer service was outstanding. Got to meet the owners/chefs wife and she treated us like VIPs. Our server had a British accent that brought the level of services up a notch. I wish I lived closer because I would definitely be back. Also the pesto whipped butter with hot rolls is to die for.

Metro 8 has become a staple on our frequent trips to the area. Food is always outstanding. The service is great and an open but quaint dining room with private areas. Great for a quiet dinner.

This should be 5 stars!!! Incredible service, perfectly cook and seasoned food and a wonderful atmosphere! From the margaritas, to the steaks and tirimisu we will absolutely be back! Cant say enough great things about this restaurant! 🤩

We came to Metro 8 for a late Valentine’s Day date last night and I can’t say enough good things about it. The acoustics in the restaurant make it so easy to have a quiet conversation and the wait staff were so speedy and polite. The owner was also out helping her staff serve and was very personable when she would come by our table, it really added to the experience. I haven’t mentioned the food yet, but it was delicious. The steak was tender and super flavorful and my husband was especially appreciative that this is the first restaurant we’ve been to for a special occasion that got his requested meat temperature just right. Make sure to save room for dessert!

Loved everything about this place! Empanadas and churasco were unfussy and perfect. Dulce de leche crepes could easily be shared by 3 people. Service fantastic!

1st time at the Metro 8 Steakhouse. Made reservation the day before and arrived at the restaurant at 5:30 PM (Saturday 1/11/2020). We were celebrating my daughters 18th birthday. All of the staff were very friendly and excellent customer service throughout out meal. The restaurant appeared to be very clean despite the 92 score that they received on their last health inspection.Appetizers: Empanadas and Provoleta were ok. House Salads: Lettuce, big chunks of sliced carrots and 3x rings of onions with a sesame dressing. Standard salad that you would expect at a diner. Salad ok.Main Dishes: NY Strip - Cooked to no pink. Not sure if it was just a bad cut of meat.... It seemed to have some gristle and it was tough. Looked like the chef noticed the same thing and performed surgery on it prior to cooking it. (See picture) My kids stated that the Churrasco and Filet Mignon were cooked perfectly. The french fries appeared to be the standard fries found at a diner though. The grilled Chicken Breast and the Lobster Ravioli were also ok vs amazing. Our bill was $155.34 for the five of us.We had high expectations regarding the dining/food experience for our first time visiting the Metro 8 Steakhouse. We thought the food was good but not a home run for us.

My favorite place to dine in Durham. Its been years that we’ve been coming here yo enjoy the elegant setting and top tier churrasco steak. I’m from Miami and when I want real Argentinian steak and excellent Mal ec wine I come to Metro 8.

The filet mignon was so tender and juicy. It melted in your mouth. The pork chops were the Best Ive had in a long time. Great value, great service. A+

By far the best steak house around. I’ve tried all of the steaks here and haven’t found any cut I don’t like. The proveleta appetizer is my favorite. The lobster ravioli is also delicious. My favorite sides are the spinach Alfredo and the broccolini however I have grabbed a few French fries from my companions plate and love those too.Do order the chocolate soufflé when you order dinner and save a couple of sips of an Argentine Malbec.Also Dulce de leche crepes are delicious.

Amazing service and food. Every bite was packed with flavor. Cassie recommended the Fettuccini Porcini and we got the Churrasco with a side of Sautéed Broccolini for our main. The Empanadas for starters and the house Chocolate Soufflé. Our waitress, Michelle along with the rest of the staff was such a delight. I cannot wait to be back already!

Went yesterday exploring downtown Durhams restaurants. loved it as soonas we walked in. its a lovely elegant place in the middle of all those restaurants on 9th street with real linen table cloths and napkins. has a back patio you can also a table out front for al fresco dining..i had lamb chops with spinach alfredo sauce which was cooked with white wine i asked for some parmesan cheese which made it delicious. my girlfriend had the fillet mignon with asparagus salad. we shared an crabmeat stuffed shrimp and salad appetizer. the waitresses were very attentive. our bill was $45 and $36 but we both took a take out box home with us. will be back a true gem

Absolutely fantastic! The servers were polite and attentive without being overbearing, the atmosphere is fantastic, and the food is amazing. 10/10, will visit again.

For starters I would 0/10 recommend getting the spinach dip it just wasn’t a hit here. The strip was great, service was amazing. Everyone made sure everything was good what seemed like every few minutes. Came here for my 21st & I feel like I made a great choice! Loved the set up they had also.

Comfy steakhouse tucked away in a nook by the road, the interior is not what youd expect. All of the food I ordered was delicious, the drinks are good, and service is fast and courteous. No complaints - they even offer last call on desserts if theyre about to run out.

Friends took me for dinner. I had not been to the new location. Our server was amazing, she was attentive and made terrific recommendations. My steak was exquisitely prepared. The atmosphere was delightful and very pretty. Parking at the new location is much easier. Overall, if youre looking for a great experience in Durham, I highly recommend Metro 8.

Let me start by saying this is a hidden gem that Ive been missing out on. On a work trip from PA and needed some dinner. Food, 5 stars, drinks, 5 stars, wait staff and owner, 5 stars. Will be going on my must stop places for food when I come to this area!!!!!

Parking was free and easy. I remember lots of names of people there they have great personalities and appeared to be happy to be at work. Ali showed us to our table we chatted a bit ( thank you for your service) the recommendations were perfect. I had the shank steak. D was so sweet she even doubled as our photographer. Everyone was so attentive. The owner Cassie even stopped at our table. The desert was amazing Im glad I wasnt sharing it, Lol. Everything was very nice the place the food the people.

Outstanding dinner location. Family owned and run, the owners are very involved and ensure this restaurant runs smoothly with high-quality food and service. A cozy atmosphere perfect for groups or date nights, and a menu with something amazing for everyone. Tables and bar service are both available. Has an amazing Pittsburgh-style steak which can be hard to find so give it a try.

I want to say this is the best Steak house in Durham area..Delicious, you will test the spices, meat,sauce, everything..I like it..I ordered 16OZ Churrasco skirt steak..definitely Im coming back again..😊

One of the best restaurants in the Area. If you visit the Triangle you should go there and have dinner. The food is delicious and everyone is very kind and attentive to details. I fully recommend it.

Had a really good provaleta appetizer and steak here. Steak was expertly cooked, service was very good (wait staff platoons so you dont wait much). Souffle desert was awesome.This is a steak restaurant. Dont go here if you dont want steak. I note one of the bad reviews below is someone who ordered fish and pasta. Who does this? Ignore reviews written by dumb people....

One of the best steaks Ive ever had and our server was an absolute doll and made the experience worth every dollar.

Metro 8 was great. My partner and I visited for date night. Before we could order food my partner passed out! Luckily she fell into a soft booth. At least 5 staff members ran over immediately to help us out. She came to fast but was still woozy. The staff brought over so many things to help her out including cold compresses, water, and rolls. My wife hadnt eaten all day so we are guessing this was the cause. Ali, our waiter, was so helpful and kept checking in us. We ended up ordering the food to go. Even though it was not fresh, our steaks were delicious. Cant wait to go again and and not have anybody pass out.

Simply the best steaks at half the price of the major steakhouses in the Triangle. Whats even better is that everything else was equally as good. Great service, didnt have to ask for a thing. The staff kept our drinks coming, were friendly but most importantly efficient. Intimate enough for a date or ladies night out. Perfect for out of town guest or a business dinner. Our waitress Julianna was the best.

We called for a reservation and the lady who answer the phone was super nice. We had an amazing dinner. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a nice ambiance. Everything tasted fabulous. We will definitely be back.

We went out for Valentines Dinner. The empanadas & cheese appetizers were delicious as were the steaks. They were out of baked potatoes, & tiramisu. The Key Lime Pie tasted like the box if came out of & was still frozen in the center. Coffee was cold..We were not impressed.

My experience at this establishment was not as expected. The steak that I ordered came severely overcooked, even to the untrained eye. After multiple attempts at resolving the issue with our server, my compaints were brushed off. I finally spoke to the manager, who was not much help in the customer service department. He tried to offer an excuse as to why my steak was overcooked, and I had to pry any type of compensation out of him. This simple issue of an overcooked steak could have easily been avoided by simply remaking my steak to begin with, but again, the customer service is lacking at this establishment.

Appetizers very good . Filet very tender. The only complaint was that Filet au Poivre was not done right. Instead of putting peppercorns on the top to form a crust a not so tasty sauce with peppers was used.

Everything tasted amazing and the servers were all great. Definitely leave room for dessert!

Best salmon dinner I’ve ever had at a steakhouse! We were visiting from Nashville a week ago and made last-minute reservations here. We were welcomed and seated promptly upon arrival. Service was friendly, efficient, and unobtrusive. Just a great experience?

Service was 10/10. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff.Dessert was amazing, tiramisu and cheesecake 10/10.Unfortunately, entrees were lacking. The salmon was swimming in a very strong citrus butter sauce that was just too much while the salmon itself was flavorless. The strip steak was good and the baked potato was good.

Best lamb chops Ive had in a while. Great service. Lovely ambiance. Wish it stayed open past 9PM. Bread was weird. Looked like hamburger buns. Also the ladies room needed some maintenance (no hand soap or TP).

Our family really enjoyed our dinner at Metro 8! My son and I had the NY Strip cooked to our specifications. His baked potato side was enjoyed as was my sautéed asparagus, although I’m partial to grilled. My wife had the grilled chicken breast and a baked potato. Pre dinner bread offering was also delicious.As a previous diner at the famous St Elmo’s Steakhouse, the Shrimp Cocktail here was not quite to that level, but still very good.My Old Fashioned was tasty, but would recommend one large cube over cubes and also asking the patron’s bourbon preference.All in all, an enjoyable dinner experience.

Uuuum.. well, went here for the first time with some friends because the reviews seem to be good.The place was set up very nice. The waiter was friendly. The food …. I got the salmon and broccolini In lemon “sauce” it was just lemon juice and salt all over my plate like a water boarded plate, broccolini was undercooked it was all very bland and lemony nothing exciting about it. My husband got the penne fresco ? Idk it look like penne soup lol it seemed like nothing had depth… my friend said her flank was pretty good and the cowboy ribeye was ok.I was expecting some Argentine flare like it claim to have. Maybe the flare fizzled out ? Honestly I most likely won’t return. I hope they can spice up their menu for future customers.

This was our 1st time at the Metro. I recall it being on 9th street for years and years, so this is obviously a Durham staple. The food quality was good. We got appetizers,drinks and entrees. The problem was we called on Thursday to make a reservation for Friday, (2-10) and they absolutely could not do a 6 or 630. They offered 5:30 and maybe, a squeeze in around 7. So we rushed to make it there at 5:30. We were the only people in the restaurant. When we left at 715, there were 10 people in the restaurant. They prodded us along as quick as possible. Now I understand turning over tables and being efficient. I get that. But this place was not busy. Not even close. We were not offered coffee,cappuccino, or dessert. Unfortunately, I doubt well return.

I went on Saturday night with my wife. Were both native Argentines and were craving a taste of home, and Metro 8 was really superb in that respect. We had empanadas, NY strip (bife de chorizo!) and dulce de leche crepes (panqueques), and everything was delicious. Would definitely recommend.

Very pleased with our experience here, everyone in my family really enjoyed the service and food. Personally my churrasco steak was the best Ive ever had, it was perfectly seasoned and like butter. My baked potato was also perfectly baked and probably the best example Ive ever had in a restaurant. I also recommend the empanadas. If you normally dont get appetizers, you should still try those. Youll thank me. This is how steakhouses should be. Compliments to the owner and chef, well be back soon.

AMAZING!! my fiancé and I went to celebrate our engagement and we were so well taken care of by server Ali. The churrasco was delicious - great price ($22 for 8oz) and flavor. The empanadas were so yummy. Ali came by to fill our waters and tea so frequently. He also offered to take our pictures! It’s a small, intimate and photogenic atmosphere. 10/10 recommend this spot.

I attended a friend birthday dinner. The food was great. I had the house salad (it was huge) and delicious. Also, I had the New York strip steak and baked potato, it was best I ever had. The service was great. Kudos to Elliott and the other two ladies (sorry I didnt remember their names). Yes I plan to go again.

My food was not prepared to my liking. Lamb was unevenly cooked and under seasoned. Baked potato was room temperature. Keylime pie was bland.

Even though Ive worked here for several years, I still need to leave a review. This food is exquisite and cooked by an Argentian chef who knows his meats and takes extreme pride in his work. The service is from a staff who want to engage with you and make sure your evening is perfect. Personally, I recommend the empanadas, spinach and artichoke dip, churrasco medium rare, or the fettuccine porcini.

Elliot is the best waiter! Love his accent! He always goes out of his ways to make sure we get top notch service! He’s one of the main reasons that we return each Wednesday!! This place has great! Food is delicious and prices are pretty good! I go every Wednesday because they have 1/2 price wine. 100% recommended!!!

Always a tremendous experience! Their steaks and chops are very high quality meats. Food is always tasty and cooked to perfection. The staff here is unrivaled in all of Durham. Though this is a well-appointed and classy restaurant, the staff is down-to-earth and always friendly and professional. You can easily see that their main goal is for customers to have an awesome dining experience. Highly recommend!

Best kept secret in Durham. Steak is my favorite meal and Metro 8 is my favorite filet in all of RTP. My husband have been regulars here for over 4 years and will continue to be. While their menu is small the food is always excellent.

Food is good, service is lacking. 2 hrs for a dinner in which we only order a main dish, no appetizers and Orders didn’t come as ordered. When it was brought to the server and manager they were dismissive and just didn’t care. Of course 20% tip already included on parties of 5 or more so they don’t care about what kind of service they give you.

I was nervous at first because a glitch in the reservation system meant they werent expecting us. We showed them a receipt of the reservation, but if it presented them an issue at all, we never knew. We had a party of 8 ranging from 11 y/o to seniors on a Friday night. Excellent service, exceptional food. Highly recommend. Signature dish and chops were favorites.

We went out to dinner and tried the churrasco steak, pork chop, brocolini, and alfredo spinach. The side of bread was really yummy! The steak--awesome. The pork chop had a few bites that were slightly dry and bland, but overall was still really tasty with the applesauce that comes with it (surprisingly delicious combo).For dessert we had the chocolate souffle which I would highly recommend. We also had the crepes that had a bit too much filling for us, but still very good and glad we tried, but probably would not get again.Our server Elliot (the British guy) was extremely helpful and made us have an enjoyable time here. This place is such an amazing experience with reasonable prices and fantastic flavors.

I came here with a group of friends, and because we had more than 10 people we had to have a “pre-fixe” type menu, which was fine with us. All food has to be on one tab, so be mindful of that if coming with a large party. Most of the food was delicious! However, the filet was very disappointing and lacked flavor. Our server seemed as though he was upset that he had to be there, or maybe because he had to take care of our large party? He wasn’t pleasant. The girls that helped the server with refills and clearing the table were very nice though! I give this 3 stars because of the value of our trip. When I spend this kind of money, my expectations are pretty high.

Do yourself a favor and go here instead of Ruths Chris. We ended up here because we waited too long to make a reservation at our previously mentioned celebration restaurant and Im glad we did.The Churrascois fantastic. Nice wine selection and great dessert. The family was well pleased

Brilliant food. Great staff and great atmosphere. I cant think of anything to critique even if I tried. The lady serving us who I believe was the owner was amazing to us. We also found out the chicken is halal and I think the lamb is too (as it comes from New Zealand)I know my go to spot for special nights out now !

I went here with my boyfriend on Valentine’s day hoping to have a good dinner with him.. the building was beautifully set up for this occasion and we were excited to eat here for our first time. While we were waiting for our food, my boyfriend noticed that the owner (did not know that it was the owner at that time) was observing us heavily from the bar. When we received our entrees and did not like the taste of the food, we requested for another entree. The owner of this establishment was really rude and declined to give us another entree without purchasing it AFTER our waitress asked what we wanted to replace it with and proceeded to place another order for us. When the owner first approached us she did not give us her name or made us aware that she was the owner. She asked “What’s the problem?”, with a unfavorable demeanor... When she made us aware of who she was, she was extremely rude and hostile towards us on what was an highly anticipated evening with my boyfriend on Valentine’s day. We simply just wanted another dish and to continue on with the rest of our night. I do not recommend this restaurant based off the actions of the owner of this establishment and how she addressed us as paying customers.

I went here on my birthday. It was amazing!! The mushroom fettuccine was divine and their French fries are the best Ive ever had. If youre getting steak Ohhhhh my goodness dont hesitate!!! This restaurant is a must visit!!!

Weve been eating at Metro 8 for 10+ years. The atmosphere and wait staff are warm and friendly, the food is delicious, and the drinks are fantastic (especially the Cosmo)! Entree portions are large enough for a take home box. This is a perfect place for date night or a family dinner. ❤

Elegant, great atmosphere, amazing cuisine, great wait staff. Worth the drive from Raleigh to find this hidden steakhouse gem. Should be rated higher than the best steakhouses in the Raleigh area in my opinion coming from a “foodie”. The menu is elegant in its simplicity and dishes are all done to a high standard.Recommend the NY Strip medium rare - It is fantastic and about 3” thick. Better than Angus Barn, Sullivans, Ruth Chris and Capital Grille for quality authentic American-Argentine style steak in a causal to formal setting. Great value for the quality of food, service and setting. Definitely my new favorite steakhouse in the Raleigh - Durham area.

Great food. My filet was fantastic. Very attentive service. I made reservations for my husbands birthday. He wasnt happy when the server wished him a happy birthday. At the end of our meal the manager came over to ask if we enjoyed our dinner. Then she said to my husband, sir, I heard you werent happy when we mentioned your birthday earlier. Im just going to flip over this card for you then to read. When she flipped it over, she had hand written happy birthday. It was very sweet and perfect for the evening. I would highly recommend Metro 8.

My husband and I visited this restaurant last night (Saturday evening). It wasn’t that busy so we were seated right away. The place could be cute if they cleaned it up a bit, dimmed the lights and added some updated decor. It reminds me of Brigs, the breakfast place) versus a fine dining steakhouse. Don’t order the caprese salad for an appetizer. The tomatoes were hard and pink. Not at all ripe for a caprese salad. My husband ordered an Old Fashioned. Every steakhouse or restaurant with a quality bar should know how to make a good Old Fashioned. They used maraschino cherries instead of cocktail cherries. Bartender also smashed a chunk of orange into the drink rather than a squeeze of the zest. Absolutely terrible! I ordered a glass of Pinot Grigio to have with dinner. I asked that it be brought out with my dinner. I had half of my dinner eaten by the time the server came to check on us. I had to remind her to bring me a glass of wine. The steaks were ok. Not amazing by any means but ok. The bench where we were seated was dirty with shoe marks. Overall, I wouldn’t go back. If you want a good steak and nice atmosphere go to Ruth’s Chris or Vinnie’s or Sullivan’s or Rey’s.

Amazing restaurant and great service. My wife and I have been twice. Once just the two of us and the second as a larger group. The food is delicious, but more importantly consistantly so! Solid steakhouse, good drinks, and decent wine pairings for the meal. OH and did I mention the price point is quite reasonable and would highly recommend!

Ali was an absolutely amazing server. Food was delicious and flavorful. The whole staff was amazing. The crepes were decadent.

Perfect place for our socially distanced anniversary. Dinner was wonderful: spinach artichoke dip, steaks cooked to perfection and a souffle to save room for. Wines paired perfectly, and martinis were on point. We couldnt have chosen a better spot to enjoy the evening and our special occasion.

Was seated immediately. The drink menu and water came within minutes. Our appetizer order was taken. Was very cheesy and tasty. Ordered the empalotas and French fries for one meal. The empalotas outside were overcooked, and the inside was very tasty and hot. Fries were some of the best I have had. Also ordered the filet mignon and loaded potato. Ordered medium rare and got a rare steak. The potato was large and very good. The 3rd dish was the specialty steak. Looked like a thin new York strip, was way under cooked, and had to send back. Came back perfect. Ended the night with the chocolate souffle. Not, what we were anticipating was more like a lava cake.

Hands down my favorite place to dine out at. From Cassie to Frank, to the lovely staff, you cannot beat the atmosphere and top notch service you receive here. I wouldn’t change a thing except going more often!

Amazing food, service, and atmosphere. Went in there in a little bit of a rush but the experience was fantastic with caring staff and delicious food.

I visited with a group of 13 women on our monthly Girls Night Out. Since the restaurant is rather small, we contacted the owner ahead of time to make a reservation. She gave us a beautiful group dining area, which would be an ideal place for a small wedding reception, rehearsal dinner, or special party. Our girls chose a variety of things from the menu, which included everything from their steak specialties, to chicken, to salads. Everything was delicious. Our service was exceptional. S great perk for the Wednesday night we were there was a half price special on select bottles of wine. Metro 8 is highly recommended for a romantic meal or for fun with a group!

Went for my birthday, lovely atmosphere. Good thing about bringing the kids was getting to try their food as well lamb was amazing, lobster ravioli was a tasty second just would have wanted more. My sons skirt steak was amazing my husband and I were calling dibs on his leftovers but to our surprise he ate it all. Great night and great staff will definitely go back

Metro8 is the finest steakhouse in North Carolina. I have dined here dozens of times, both before and after they relocated, and each experience has been exquisite. The service is impeccable. The small menu is fantastic. I have refined my order to an exact science: for appetizer, the empanadas; for entree, the 16 oz churrasco, with an extra chimichurri. For those of weaker constitution, an 8 oz churrasco is offered. Simply put, this is sublime cuisine; my only critique is that there is a somewhat limited selection of cuts— please offer me a hanger steak!

I really enjoyed this place a lot. The service was great. All the employees were prompt, knowledgeable, and friendly. Everyones food was reportedly good. I certainly enjoyed mine. The menu was diverse enough to cover all our unique dietary restrictions. I will definitely come back to this place for some more meat next time Im in the area.

About once every 8 months to a year my company will host a small business dinner with some of our managers and one of our software vendors, and this is always our go to place.Youre greeted with a very cozy and warm environment, even on the coldest nights. I always start off with a beer and the appetizers. While all of the apps are amazing, the empanadas are simply a must. Its actually tempting to get that as a meal, but I cant resist a great steak, so Ill get the filet mignon au poivre with some sides and some red wine.Just when you think you cant eat any more youll be asked about the souffle because it takes 20 minutes to prepare. Get the souffle and add a chocolate martini to come with it, as you wont be disappointed. And any extra martini left in the shaker is usually given to you in a small shot glass.On top of the phenomenal food the service is friendly and consistent, and either the owner or manager always comes out to welcome us back. Its a great way to unwind after a day of meetings with great food, great drinks, and great company. All in all Im so impressed with the place for hosting business dinners and since Im local Im always looking for excuses to go there for other occasions.

Our experience was very mixed. We started out with a server who was excellent. Our appetizers came, hot rolls with lots of butter, and our water glasses were kept full. Halfway through, we didnt see our server. No one came over to see how our meal was. No one came over to see if we needed anything - not even water. No one came over to ask if we would like to see the desert menu. We tried to get the attention of another server and it was as if we were invisible. Finally, about 15 minutes of sitting with our dirty, empty plates, we were able to catch the attention of one and asked jokingly if our server had gotten lost or gone home. The response was yes, we sent him home. We had to many servers for tonight. Really? No one, including our server, had come over to tell us that he was leaving. No one picked up our table. A dessert menu was literally tossed down onto the table at this point. No one came over to ask if we wanted any dessert. Then, we had to wait until again we were able to catch a servers attention so we could get the check. Got the check and then had to wait again until someone realized that it was standing up on the table waiting to be taken. No - we wont be going there again!!

Last night was my first experience eating at Metro 8. I must say it was an amazing experience! The food was amazing and the customer service was out of this world! The entire staff worked as a team and were very attentive the entire time. We will certainly be going back!

My wife and I were here as part of an event for a 25th science and math high school reunion. The food was very tasty, however the banquet service was lacking. Not only were they out of food in both of the lines before half of the guests had made it through, the banquet manager herself, I assume, was not friendly or terribly helpful.

Excellent food and service! White table cloth dinning but....not too $$$ actually. We enjoyed our entire experience and felt good about what we paid.Also, you will never...ever...run out of water. 🤣

We tried this restaurant with a group of 10. We made reservations and all went smooth. The food was amazing! All meats were properly cooked. The filet mignon which I ordered was like a slice of heaven. Totally worth the visit to get a great steak. The server was great and answered any questions we had and was prompt with refills.

Awesome food. I really liked everything from the crab stuffed shrimp, the steak and the dessert. The special butter for the bread was excellent as well. I would have given 5 stars but the server was pretty slow and not super attentive. I will be back for sure.

Called to try to make a reservation and the woman who answered the phone put me on hold. Was waiting over 5 mintues but no one came back. I called again and was directed to the voicemail after it rang about seven times. The food is decent and the drinks are ok, but I guess they dont take reservations.

Our first visit.. The staff was friendly. Love the decor..The Bread was warm and fresh and soft, the baked potato was cooked perfectly, vegetables were fresh tasting. The steaks were very flavorful with no added condiments.. Limited seating, reservations suggested.. Limited close parking.. The grocery store across the street aggressively tows vehicles.. Be careful where you park.. We will be back

There is something I will always miss about the old location, but the new spot is beautiful and very convenient for parking. We frequent Metro8 for the amazing food and outstanding service. The empanadas and lamb chops are my favorites. But seriously you can’t go wrong with anything in this family / chef owned restaurant.

Great dining experience! We started with the empanadas, which were amazing! For dinner we shared the filet and the lamb chops. Both were cooked perfectly and incredibly flavorful. The sauces were a little lacking but the food didnt need sauce anyway and it was on the side. Very knowledgeable and professional staff. Highly recommend this spot for a great dinner!

Somehow we timed things just right to squeak in. Shortly after we were seated around 6:30 I heard they were booked until 9pm. Before we left, they were telling people Sunday...Small, quaint place on 9th street. We dont go there often, but after googling Best steak in Durham this was where we decided to go. A little difficult to notice if you arent familiar with the area. Nice double door setup to try and keep some of the cold out.Everyone was very pleasant.The chief concern when you pay more for a meal is, will it be worth it? It was.1 ate from the adjusted menu, 1 did not.Amy B was our server, and she was very attentive. Other staff stopped by and checked on us as well (as they did with all diners)Very enjoyable dining experience.

Cozy, intimate and perfect date dinner location, assuming you want to avoid the party bar scene. We went after reading a few reviews and were not disappointed. Staff was very courteous and personable, food was outstanding! We enjoyed appetizers, dinner and desert - would absolutely recommend.

Our experience for dinner was pitiful. The service left a lot to be desired. Nobody came and checked on us during dinner and food came out cold. Our server Lisa seemed nice initially but wasn’t attentive throughout the dinner.So overall I will not recommend this place. Sorry there are better places with tastier food

Beef eaters paradise with excellent desserts and alcohol. One can easily converse with other members of their party. Best choice in Triangle for Argentinian style steak.

I love the inside of the restaurant and the chef that made our filets is excellent.However, my sister and I received a waitress who spent very little time and effort to assure we had an excellent experience. Never got refills, was not told in the menu or by the waitress that a salad would come with the meal and let us order a side salad anyway, I had to beg for the check to be delivered and it was never even shown to myself when another waiter took my amex and handed it to 3 people in 10 minutes before my card was swiped and brought back to myself.The older couple sitting next to us and a party of 4 drunk girls recieved much more attention and care.

Warm, inviting eclectic atmosphere. Highly skilled bartender. Good place to get drinks. My skirt steak was done properly to temperature and the sauce that comes with it was a delicious novelty with some special heat to it. Id come back to try a steak ceasar next time, or Ill bet the grilled chicken would be good or the penne. The steaks are impressive. Go there for excellent drinks and apps oh and the desserts were awesome. Both the crepes and the tiramisu (sp?)would impress a chocolate lover.

The service was friendly and efficient, and they had no problem with giving us separate checks.I went last night with a friend. We had the same excellent service. I had a Caesar salad with steak. My friend had a filet mignon and sautéed broccolini. Both were delicious. We enjoyed dining on the back patio.

This steakhouse sure knows how to ruin a steak. What has happened to this place? It used to be delicious. We ordered a steak “medium” and salmon. The steak came out very rare, blood on the plate. We sent it back, and were asked “do you want it pink at all?” We asked for medium, and since this is a steakhouse we shouldn’t have to define medium. It came back out and was well done and tasted like leather. The salmon was blah, fishier than normall. There are better places to eat within 2 blocks of this place that will be cheaper and way better food. Disappointing meal and a waste of money.

Great food, awesome service, best lamp chops. We were visiting from Virginia Beach and we decide to come to this steakhouse. We met the owner whom gave the best customer service and made us feel at home.

We got the empanadas for appetizer. They we so delicious. Very well seasoned. The lamb chops and churrasco were perfectly cooked. And the dulce de leche crepes were finger licking good! Will definitely return!

Great steak house. Dishes are pretty traditional (mostly Southern American but some Argentine/Italian) so there is no surprise, but they taste really good! My favorite is Fettuccine Porcini. Their wine list is also awesome with decent price.

I was expecting more from the food based on other reviews. Good food but not outstanding. Parking was a bit of challenge.

This is a great date atmosphere. My cowboy ribeye was super quality beef and perfectly cooked. This place merits return trips for me. Be careful when you park in this area. Apparently, the parking lot across the street is off limits.

Amazing food, great service, but very pricey. The ambiance is industrial, rather than romantic or cozy, which makes the place noisy and impersonal, but the food really is amazing, and the staff top-rate.

This was our 3rd night out for Triangle Restaurant Week. We had intended to try another venue and looked at the menu for Metro 8. We changed our mind. We made an online reservation. We asked to sit in a booth shortly after our arrival and they were very accommodating. We were served by at least 3 wait staff and the owner. The food was outstanding! Cant wait to go back!

My wife and I had an anniversary dinner at Metro 8 tonight. I had chorizo to start and the churrasco with broccolini for my main. My meal was fantastic, and the service was very good. So thats why Im giving it a 5 star rating. My wife got the chicken breast, which she said was rather dry. Id read on their website that the chef mentioned that the grilled chicken was bone in, which normally means that it would not be so dry. But her chicken was boneless and dry. It was a shame because Id be happy to come back, but my wife probably wont.

Great service. Great menu at all price points. Not just steaks, everything is fabulous. Half price bottles of wine on Wednesdays makes it even more reasonable. Dont skip the chocolate soufflé...

Thursday night...15 people max in the restaurant. Took 20 minutes for a drink and had an uneven table. Took 3 people trying to fix...needless to say it spilt our drinks and they didn’t bother to make another.. The owner looks tired and stressed out. Maybe she needs to retire. She had the nerve to come ask if we had reservations..and we did...I mean the place was half empty. Rip off!! High school waiter was pathetic. Bill was 83 ..paid 100 cash. After waiting a few minutes for change he came around and said do u need change...really?!?!? Very disappointed in the way things were handled. It would have been different if the place was packed, but it wasn’t. Been here several times and each time the service is worse. Think again before going here. Peace

This is my absolute favorite place on 9th street. The food is always on point, and the staff are like family to the regular group I dine with. Check out 1/2 price wine on Wednesdays! Also, the churrasco is the best steak in town!

Pretty good place for western food. I liked the steak and sausages. They were juicy, easy to chew and tasted good. The plates were not very clean and the service was mediocre.

Great food and romantic atmosphere here. The dishes have a little more latin flair to them but they are great! It is more on the expensive side but worth it as a treat every once in a while.

First visit. Staff was friendly but oh boy there was one thing after the other. We arrived at around 9:30ish and first ordered a mojito. Well, they didnt have mint. Then we order provoleta as our appetizer after talking with the waitress and asking her for recommendations and description on the dish. We got sold with the provoleta. Well to my surprise, since I didnt know any better, they never served us the provoleta. Instead they gave us Caprese salad. The waitress was trying to convince me that I order that but at any point in our conversation I mentioned Caprese salad so dont know where she got that from. Then she was trying to disguise the fact by telling me that the Caprese salad was the provoleta but when we look at the menu the prices were different. That is when she admitted that they serve us the Caprese salad instead. Then we order our entrees with baked potatoes and after we order they returned saying that they ran out of baked potatoes. What!! Then we ordered more bread. It never came out because apparently they forgot and left it in the oven so it got burn. To make things worst, management didnt take ownership of what happen. Instead she started saying that next time we need to call ahead to make sure that they save or hold a potatoe. What in the world!! I have never heard such thing. Then management was saying that they had mint outside near the window but it was too dry to serve. Again people, it is not our fault. This restaurant is supposed to be one of the top steakhouses with many awards but our experience says something different. We felt blame for what happen. A simple we are so sorry that your experience was not as expected. We want to make it up to you guys would have been much appreciated instead of trying to justify themselves and put some of the blame on us. Food was good after all, they gave us the dessert for free which would have been fine if the blame was not partially shifted on the customer.

A dependable favorite. This place is great down to every detail. First of all, this is the best deal for Triangle Restaurant Week. This first time I came was TRW last year, and I had tuna. The tuna was good, I love tuna and it was great. Im not normally a big steak person, but WOW their Churrasco steak is amazing! I tried a bite of someone elses and now Im addicted. Anytime I have something to celebrate or just want to go out for a nice meal, all I can think of is that churrasco steak.They start you off with bread and jalapeño butter which is a cool touch. And their desserts are amazing. The dulce de leche crepes are something youll find yourself salivating over and craving. Their chocolate souffle was also great. If you go for TRW go with a friend who shares dessert...both options are amazing.Decor is very authentic and classy without feeling stuffy. Servers are very organized, attentive and friendly. If you catch the owner shes reallly fun to talk to.

Get the Churrasco steak (duh). A half one + salad is more than enough to feed someone. Also try the sausage as an appetizer. The service is always good, the food is great, this is the kind of place where you can get to know the owner as shes almost always there. The other review about a bouncer throwing someone out must not have been referring to one of the bars next door. This is a restaurant, there isnt a bouncer, you can bring your kids (mine love it).

One of the best restaurant in Durham and definitely the best price for value steakhouse that Ive dined in (and I like steaks a lot).The atmosphere is amazing, the service excellent, and the owners are always there to chat with you if you feel like it.

Food here was very tasteless.However the cowboy steak was great. Veggies and salmon no taste. Manager was genuinely concerned that we where not happy with our meal. Lastly our server was great.

Finding parking was kind of a pain but the atmosphere, food, and service were great. The filet in peppercorn sauce was unbelievably good as well as the sides we had (asparagus and broccolini). I would definitely recommend checking this place out if you are looking for a nice steak dinner. I would eat here any day over Ruth Chris, etc.

OMG the LAMP CHOPS.This is my husband and mine favorite little spot to go. Its so classically elegant. We go early around 530-ish and it is near empty, but by 630, its booming. The accommodated our non-traditional drink requests and remembered us after one visit (and each subsequent one as well); not just our waiter. but the staff. This is truly an excellent spot.

Chewy, under seasoned, bland and raw steak. I ordered medium rare and received a barely cooked steak. Ate two bites, complained to the waiter who did nothing and still had to pay for the not eaten steak. Not going here again. You can get a better steak at Applebees.

It doesnt look like much from the street, but omg, the steaks and food are so good! We came in a little late, but the servers and entire staff were so nice, and the manager came by to ensure everything was great.

I have never had a better stake then the one from here and my husbands mushroom pasta dish was also very delicious! I gave 5 starts for the amazing food but the service could have been better.

Metro 8 does simple dishes amazingly well. Ill recommend their Churrasco skirt steaks to anyone who likes a nice cut of meat, but dont leave without tasting their chocolate souffle!

Placed an order for a doordash customer and was having issues with the card and app. Instead of being patient and understanding, the woman I dealt with was rude and snobby. I will NEVER come back here again, not even for a delivery order.

The best place in the triangle for steak. The staff is amazing, the food out of this world. and the atmosphere is even better. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to have a great experience.

My husband and I heard great things about Metro 8 and decided to check it out after we left the UNC game. Too bad we drove 40 minutes across town to be told that we couldnt be served because they werent accepting customers without a reservation. Who makes reservations for the entire restaurant and doesnt accept walk-in customers?? Too bad we didnt get to try it and we never will because I refuse to visit this place again.

This place is amazing. The service is great. I always get the cowboy ribeye but decided to try the filet. Now I dont know which one I love more. The provoleta is an outstanding appetizer as well.

The service was superb, the only reason for the low rating was that for that kind of money I expect my steak to be cooked the way I asked. Otherwise, nice place.

Best pork chop I have had from a restaurant in 50 years. Metro 8 has excellent cuts of meat professionally prepared.

There is a dish called Churrasco, but not related to a real brazilian Churrasco. It is just a 32 oz of meat....For the price, usd 25, you can try all you can eat in Brazil for less.
