I had a very relaxing and good massage by Daphne. My only complaint is your policy of time start to time ending. The two times of gone one for a facial and todays massage Ive been on time in fact early. Both times I go in after my appointment time but it finishes at the exact hour??? Dosent seem fair. Perhaps you could look into this.

What a beautiful hidden gem Balensi Spa is. The personnel are attentive and do everything possible to make your visit memorable…I will definitely be going back.

I have been going to Balensi Spa for many years now. I highly recommend their membership which allows you to get monthly services at a discounted price. The environment is so relaxing and the staff is knowledgeable, professional and all around amazing.

I really enjoyed my microdermabrasion collagen facial. The facialist was very pleasant and thorough. My skin looks fresher and I feel like facial took off a couple of years. I will be making another appointment.

I was very pleased with the service as always. I want to say thank you to the person who did my massage for explaining to me in detail of the differences of the massages that they offer. Visited for the first time this evening, loved the overall experience and found it sooo relaxing! Unfortunately I noticed that one of the products used during my facial contains parabens. These are illegal in many European countries and I try to avoid them in my daily skin care routine (this is why there are so many paraben free products these days), I worry about even deeper absorption if they are used during a facial following exfoliation.I would love to come back to this Spa again and bring my mom but I am hesitant due to the use of paraben containing products. Please let me know if you discontinue using this product or offer a paraben free alternative for facial treatments.

I truly enjoy this spa. I looked around SD to find a professional place that offered services for my back. I break out easily so I needed to make sure the products were not too oily or greasy. There is a zen waiting area with a water fountain, and offer you drinks while you wait. The staff is very professional and have great customer service skills.The reason for my 3 stars is because I scheduled a back peel about 6 weeks out (person that can do the service are very limited), only to get to the day and be exposed to COVID. I had to reschedule two weeks out, now to come up to my 8th week. Unfortunately, they rescheduled my back peel to a back facial. I clearly didn’t realize that I had been rescheduled to the wrong service until I was paying; the price is significantly different. At that point, there was nothing I could do. I paid for a service I didn’t want (which was a good experience, just not how I wanted to spend my money). Once I spoke to the staff, they rescheduled me once again. Now I have to wait 3 more weeks to get the service I originally scheduled and spend twice the amount. It won’t keep me from going back but it was disappointing and clearly I paid for a mistake I didn’t make. Just make sure you speak your service clearly and always double check that they have it right in the system.They have a membership option that I would have been part of but it runs for the year. I will moving at some point within my year so I couldn’t join ($65/mo that includes a free monthly facial or massage). You get discounts on other services. Worth checking out.

Absolutely love this place, I have been a member for years. After my last esthetician Jenny left I wasnt sure if I would continue with my membership. Thank goodness I found Alondra , she is absolutely AMAZING!!! Her facials are the best, she really pays attention to detail & give helpful recommendations.

I had a 90 minute aroma therapy massage with Aria and it was so amazing. Not only was it relaxing, it was clear she was skilled and passionate about her work.

Love the vibe and the facial. Every facial I’ve gotten here makes my skin radiant and hydrated. If my life wasn’t so busy I would get the monthly membership. Probably will get it next year.

Lovely place. Massage therapists with Minimal training. I booked a combination massage. Which was mostly her just rubbing me with arnica which I paid extra for. It was not unpleasant. But the therapist I doubt was even licensed. She had no idea how to address my problem areas and no knowledge of anatomy and the musculature. When you find inexpensive places. There is usually a reason why. They weren’t that cheap. But yeah no one asked me my problem areas or had me fill out a form etc.Avoid. I doubt anyone here is licensed or if they are they went to a six hour school.

Well worth the membership but availability is a little difficult- as i had to wait 1.5 months for a massage.

Bought a Groupon and was not disappointed. Alondra was fantastic and the whole spa environment was so welcoming and relaxing. I definitely recommend and will be returning for more treatments.

There was a woman in the room next door to where I had my massage done. She was selling beauty products to a customer but I swear she swallowed a microphone! She was EXTREMELY LOUD! It distracted me the entire hour of my massage and my massage therapist didn’t do anything even though I expressed my dissatisfaction. I did NOT relax. It was a complete waste of time and money. When I called to complain, someone offered my 10% off my next massage. Seriously?! How about you teach your staff NOT to behave as if they’re selling vegetables in a mercado!

On June 7 at 10am I had my very first appointment and it just happened to be Lorena Balensi. She was very polite and because I had done laser on my face weeks prior, the original facial I had requested was adjusted in order not to damage my skin. Lorena also recommended next time to book an appointment specifically with Maria since she could adjust to my skin needs. I tried to do it at home via online but it was giving me only 1 or 2 estheticians. I booked a microdermabrasion with a different esthetician for August 10 at 3pm.It was ok.At the end of it, I made an appointment with the receptionist specifically with Maria for September 7 at 2pm. (please, park your vehicle 1 block west since I discovered a ticket at the end of this appointment)When I arrived on Thursday Sept 7 all excited to finally get to know Maria, and to finally have parked where there was no meter available, to my disdain, I didn’t have an appointment scheduled. The receptionist couldn’t find me for any future dates. She looked me up via phone number, name, everything and nothing. I was frustrated but she didn’t offered to book me with Maria for any future dates.I just left.

Had a microdermabrasion facial with Ciara and was heaven! Ambiance was nice and the spa music was very inviting. Very calming and felt radiant after. She answered all my questions and was very friendly and professional. Book with her she has magic hands. Thank you!

This is my 12th month coming to this place and they seem to somehow always improve their customer service, products and amenities. The staff is always polite and friendly. They created a very relaxing atmospheres and they make me feel at home. I have gotten great recommendations from the staff and I do see myself coming back for at least another year! I recommend the membership option for extra perks and a great way to focus on your health.

Maria is an amazing esthetician with a caring spirit and soothing hands.

It was my first time booking a massage (I booked the Aromatherapy Massage), so the whole experience was new to me and Im very happy with the service I received.The outdoor waiting area is very comfortable and relaxing --the fountain and small fireplace give the whole area a very serene atmosphere. You are offered water or tea if youd like, and they give you a small cookie as well.The massage rooms are cozy. They are small spaces but very clean and easy to relax in. Theres soft instrumental music, which adds to the positive experience. My massage therapist, Precious, was great! She was very friendly, asked if there were any areas that I would like her to focus on, and my shoulders/neck feel so much better!!!!I cannot wait to go back :)

I cant reply to the review I just did, but I come in for microabrasions and extractions are included in that service, has nothing to do with the collage facial which was added service I asked for. I ask multiple personal doing my facial, the front desk and OWNER what brand of collagen mask was used and they all said it was against policy. Yet in the reply the owner states they tell you everything you use for at home use. I checked multiple websites on price. Finally I cant cancel my membership without paying out and the owner knows this. And I choose not to.

Friend treated me to a massage here and it was amazing. Its a great place hidden within Chula Vista.

Lorena does a great job helping my daughter with her preteen facial skin concerns. She takes the time to plan out my daughters future facials and recommendations on home care. My daughter looks forward to coming here which helps boost her confidence with her skin conditions. The front desk staff is always friendly and inviting. I dont mind sitting in the relaxing front porch for an hour while waiting for my daughter to be done.

5 stars experience! The SPA reminders beautiful little resort. Personal very pleasant and friendly. That was my first time and I totally enjoyed it. I had Stem Cell facial with Dora. She was very helpful to explain how it works and I loved all of the procedure. Getting back!

I have been here twice so far. The first time I got an Acne Comodex facial from Jenny with a High Frequency add on. My face felt super clean and looked really fresh when I got home. Jenny was really nice and explained to me what she was doing which I appreciated. She suggested a blemish control product to me when we walked back into the main building. I have been using it and my skin is looking great.The second time I had a combination massage with the add on of CBD oil. Precious was the masseur and did such an amazing job with the combination massage! This was my first time getting a massage here and I am so excited to come back. I already booked two more massages. Precious was really professional and made me feel so comfortable. The room was air conditioned and the massage table was heated (a nice combo).Right when you show up for your appointment you need to wait outside by the steps for someone to come talk to you. They find out your info and offer you tea or water and ask you to take a seat outside. They bring you your drink with a delicious prepackaged cookie. After a few minutes, the person providing your service comes and calls your name.This spa is so cool and really close to home which is a huge plus. I love that you can book online. When I come, I park out front where there is metered parking. You have to use coins for the meters; I pay $1.10 for an hour and 12 minutes. There is also a lot right across from the spa that has paid parking. Farmers Table is right up the street.

Its wonderful here but i give it a 3 due to them trying to keep the brand of collagen sheet mask a secret. So now after three months i found what brand it is and they use the lapcos collagen sheet mask. Its a two dollar mask which they charge 10 dollars. But everything else is great!

Its my first time at Balensi Spa and I already love it! Im definitely going to come back. I like the overall ambiance of the place. The environment is very relaxing and welcoming. The setting was relaxing, but I had some things that was off. I wanted a specific facial, but they didnt had the person there to perform the service. I asked to reschedule since I couldnt figure out what other facial to do to substitute, and I wasnt allowed to reschedule. I ended up choosing a facial but I almost felt like I was being forced, apparently it was a new facial they introduced this month. The facial service was good, but to my surprise when I got off the bed and looked at my phone while I was getting dressed, I found that my service was not even a full hour like they promised but only 40 minutes. I left disappointed because I expected better, and I saw the reviews. Yes, the people are nice but the not allowing me to reschedule, being cheating in having a hour service and not having a technician there to perform my original service, have me feeling disappointed

I see Lorena she does wonderful work. She makes me feel comfortable and relaxed. She tells me whats best for my skin. I been to other places and felt they just wanted to sell their products and I wouldnt see any results. That is not the case here. She is very honest and tells me what I do and dont need. Every product Lorena has recommended me I have seen results; even my husband has complemented how great my skin looks, hes not a man who notices these type of things so that was a bonus. I have also taken my son who is 13 and recently started getting a lot of black heads and well hes going through puberty. He loved it! he said he didnt feel a thing when they were doing the extractions and his skin feels smooth. Hes asked to go back. lol

I received the collagen facial, Jenny was very sweet & helpful. She took her time to address my problem areas and made me feel very comfortable. I left feeling refreshed & even noticed instant results. Thank you, I will be back!

I have 20 years getting massages and being a massage therapist, which makes me really picky when I get massages because I know what a quality massage feels like. Everything n eveyone in this spa is amazing! I have visited the most expensive day spas like Berk Williams, and the costumer service is better in Balensi. The therapist are extremely professional! The only reason why I didnt not add a 5 star is because the they need 2 receptionist instead of 1. The receptionist moves fast, but many times I try calling the spa and the phone was busy (hence, this is where a second phone n second receptionist will be helpful).. I had to wait like 2o minutes to schedule my massages while I was in the location. Is busy, but soooo worth it!

Balensi makes me feel a VIP each time I visit. Staff is welcoming and the service is done professionally. As soon as you enter Balensi, you’ll feel relaxed already because of its aromatic scent. I always look forward for my next appt. Excellent job Balensi!

I had been a member for long time. According to staff, unlike other places they use quality products for their customers. And it shows through my own skin. Depending on time of the day it can be hectic to find parking spot. Secret: park behind Marie Calendars for free. They always have plenty of space for you.

The spa itself is lovely. We got facials. My daughter loved hers and mine was just ok. I would try other services there if/when Im back in town. Everyone very nice.

I LOVE this place!!! My mother and I have been coming here for over 10 years now! We both have our memberships and come monthly.The staff are super nice, and the girls that do facials and massages have MAGICAL hands. Lol!I have gone to other spas but was never really pleased. This place is as close to heaven as it gets.

The absolute worst spa I’ve ever been to in my life. I don’t write reviews but this has to be told. I went in for a spa package in which the lady working on me might as well been a robot, she did not even try to converse with me, fair enough I can live with that. This is where it gets horrible, I told the lady that I had a bad lower back which I was going to the doctor to get it taken care of and not to mess with it. Never acknowledged me in the slightest but figured since she wasn’t a talker anyways that she understood me. I’m reading my emails and next thing you know I felt the sharpest pain run right up my leg and I just knew when I looked back it wasn’t going to be good, sure enough as I looked back I could see she was working on my lumbar which is my lower back, I was disgusted in which I got up and limped out, I could not leave fast enough truth be known. My troubles were not over, the next day my back blew out. I immediately went to the doctor in which he told me I had a slipped vertebrae which may need surgery. I thought I’d try a new place out but what a mistake that was. I live in Rancho Santa Fe and shall be using my regular spa here from now on and will never step foot inside this place again.

Had the best Hydrafacial by Lorena! Their spa is so calming and so beautiful! The facial made my skin look and feel so rejuvenated and fresh!! Would definitely recommend!

This was my first time in.had a prepaid service as gift.I was a little sceptical after reading some reviews, but my wife swears by this place . She assure me I would help me with my aching shoulders n lower back ..and she made it point to say that their service was outstanding. Unfortunately, it wasnt! I really didnt see ..or feel anything outstanding on their behalf..specially for price...when i first walked in.. there is a check in pad,no one to greet you or anything.i did notice a tiny lounge with a few people in bath robes.after checking in u wait about a minute .I get walked straight back to a room and ask to prep my self...didnt get offered anything not even glass of water ..didnt even asked if I needed to use rest room.they did try to upsell me on a lotion though. I was suppose to get a full body deep tissue message..but only had my shoulders n neck worked on..(which was okay.nothing special though) .definitely not deep tissue....though....getting home Im told I was suppose to receive other service that were paid for..that I didnt receive ..so Im really disappointed .top it off after cooling down ..all my aches n pains came back..definitely not worth money or time spent there..was upset my wife gave em a tip..I do not recommend this place at all..not a good first impression and..or experience

I asked for a facial with extractions since I was experiencing acne breakouts. I left with the same clogged pores. I called back and talked to a manager and he did not help. He talked over me which was very disrespectful. The manager directed me to a dermatologist. If the spa cant provide a service requested they should say that at the beginning of the service.

I have been going to get my eyebrows done here for a long time. I love the work Jean-Michel does. Thank you for always being so professional

I became a Balensi Club member, some time ago. Thus, I assured myself that I would remember to engage in self-caring via facial or massage at least once a month. Jean-Michael and Lorena Balensi (owners) both have many years experience in their respective areas of expertise, and manage their boutique retreat spa with an eye on detail and genuine concern for their clientele. Lorena Balensi has given me memorable facials consistently. Catherine has massaged away bodily stresses and eased emotional pain with her sensitive, masterful touch. Clientele are truly treated as “guests” in the best sense of the word. The indoors and outdoor spaces are specifically enhanced with beautiful, oxygen-producing plants. Soothing, soft music is piped throughout. Water trickles gently. Sizable, soft throws drape comfy seating for relaxation pre- or post- treatment. An infrared sauna prepares the face and/or body prior to treatments. This is how I have experienced Balensi’s. I am forever thankful that the wee touch of paradise in downtown Chula Vista has survived the Pandemic Storm!

Wonderful facial and microdermabrasion. How did this Chula Vista jewel escape me? I returned a week later for the best permanent make up experience ever. Spa owner Jean Michele is perfection.

Beware ! These people are manipulating funds via Groupon . I purchased a groupon and they were unable to book before expiration date , claiming that they had sold so many they were overbooked and would honor the service at a later date .Now , they are able to make the appointment but want an additional 75 $ for the 45 minute service , that “ has a 125 dollar value “ . Shame on them .
