Overall Melody Ranch must have gotten better since their reviews from 6 months ago. Heard lots of unfavorable things about Melody, but idk what they were talking about. We went on a Saturday night. Staff was average, not super friendly but theyre there to give you what you need. The DJ forgot my song request but I kindly asked about it and they played it next. Dancefloor was good!!! And they played only country music until 11pm!!!! That was super nice. They play a little bit of all country there. Overall it was good idk what everyone was cringing over. Will definitely be back!

Really fun spot with a great dance floor. Not very seedy as people arent only there to drink.Cover is free on college night on Thu if youre 21+. The crowd is 18-25 on Thu with a greater age range Fri and Sat.

Had a great time! All of the staff was nice. This place has something for everyone- line dancing, country dancing, slow dancing, hip hop. There were adults of all ages. One of the best times I have had in quite a while.

Came to Texas on a trip from out of state and wanted to go swing dancing. The melody ranch had okay music but overall wasn’t the funnest dancing bars we have been to. The $10 cover charge was not worth it. The Bathroom was really run down and staff was standoffish

We actually really loved this bar and planned to come back almost every week. We are all young professionals and not undergrads. The woman at the front with the short blonde hair is horrible! One of our friends was dancing on the outskirts of the dance floor and had an empty beer can in his hand. She got him kicked out for it! We had all paid a $10 cover and were buying drinks. We were far from menaces, and this woman needs to be fired. Honestly, she makes us not want to come back, which is upsetting because we loved dancing!

Friday night and the beautiful ladies come to dance great atmosphere and would recommended. Only thing that needs alittle improvement is the AC . Let’s get it a little cooler in this hot box

Great place for some good music, dancing and drinks. Weve been going here for many years.Dont show up without your truck accessories locked down though. Have had several winch clevis hooks stolen over the years, and most recently my receiver hitch.Seems to be a prime place for buttheads to obtain your trucks equipment in the parking lot.

Since I’m under 21 I have to get an M written on my hand, no biggie ofc.. I mean I don’t really drink anyways, but I used the restroom like twice and since I used soap and water (because I’m not nasty) the M smudged up a bit and became faded and this very rude women (older women with very short blonde hair) kicked me and my friend out. Seeing as I had JUST gotten back from a six month deployment I just wanted to have fun and dance and feel human again for the first time in six months but I wasn’t able to due to that women’s lack of common sense. Soap and warm water+marker=it’s gonna fade/smudge. So now I’m driving an hour back home after paying a $30 entrance fee to just be kicked out by a rude women with no common sense. I definitely do not recommend. Like at least give me my money back because that stuff doesn’t grow on trees.

Asked the dj to play a popular country line dance but he wouldn’t because they “don’t play spanish music” yet he played ed sheeran, a british pop singer, instead.

Bar tenders put very little alcohol in the mix drinks. Double shots of Rum and Sprite taste like straight Sprite. Younger crowd and the DJ is stuck in late 90’s country with very little hip hop. More of a line dancing club for kids.

Went to college night and I have been here 20+ times before. I’ve paid in card every single time I’ve come, except for this time I paid in cash. My friend behind me gave the older blonde short-haired lady with glasses her card to pay and the lady stared at her like she was stupid and proceeded to yell at her for trying to pay card. I witnessed it and tried to ask her to calm down and be respectful and she proceeded to scream at us and kick my friend out. My friend was very respectful and is a server, so she is familiar with proper customer service. The most disrespectful woman I have ever encountered, and kicked a number of people out after us for the same reason. All these bad reviews on here are about her, so I don’t particularly know why she still works there. The officers will lie to your face and back her up even though they didn’t witness her poor treatment of customers. Also, country dancing is okay here, but there’s better places to go with better staff.

Me and my friend went to Melody to have a good time and the woman with the blonde bowl hair cut told my friend that he had to many to drink but what she didn’t know is that my friend has a disability since he was a baby. I hope you know she shouldn’t assume people are drunk right off the bat and immediately tell them to leave without them explaining their situation and Maybe your place would have good ratings.Tell your employee she shouldn’t judge people right away and be an “nice” employee instead of a rude, inconsiderate, jerk.

I love this place had the best time ever love music love the people love the dance floor.

Great atmosphere and large dance floor. It can be hard to find a seat when youre not dancing though. Make sure you bring a partner if youre planning to dance, they mostly do partner dances and very few line dances. Im from out of state and thats not what I was expecting! Still fun to sit and watch everyone dance.

The service sucked, will never go here again. I got a couple beers and some shots, my tab ended up being 71 bucks!!! My friend literally ordered 2 beers and 2 shots, and was charged 76 dollars!!!! and the bartender (young girl) was pretty much begging for tips. She wouldnt give me my card back until I told her how much I was gonna tip her! worst experience ever. Dont give them you card but the will take full advantage of you. F this place and the people who work there!

I tried to come to dance with granddaughter. Was there two weeks was in there. She was with me had a good time. Came tonight was told she has to be 18 even with me. So I guess you lost a customer. Been a long time customer.

Staff is not nice! They harass college students and do not care about their customers! The Karen at the front door is absolutely terrible and most definitely forgot to drink her coffee this morning. I came here to line dance and not go to a frat party that cost $10

My boyfriend and I were in town for the weekend and were looking for a country bar to dance at. After looking at the reviews for melody ranch we were turned off. Seemed like the only option so we gave it a try anyways. GLAD WE DID! It was great. Live music for most of the night. Then a DJ. Dance floor is nice and big. We had a great time! Will deff go again if we are ever back in town!

Nice, large dance floor. Good DJ on Friday nights. Really good dancing until around 9:30pm when kids start arriving. They “dance while the music plays” doing same steps to all rhythms. Best way to describe their “dance” is “the cripple knee shoulder dislocation.” The kids are extremely rude on the dance floor, galloping around like gorillas, running into other dancers. When they arrive, we leave! An “adults only” dance night would be great!!

I had a very bad experience here, the lady outside would let me because I was apparently “drunk” despite not having a sip pf alcohol the entire week. She then proceeded to cuss at me when I told her that I wasn’t drunk. I will not be coming back, and I would only recommend coming here if you would like to be harassed by the old crusty woman at the door.

Bartenders take shots with customers and then rob you blind on drinks. Pro tip: if you ask for a double it’s a single and if you ask for a single it’s a half-ish ounce pour. In order to get what you’re paying for you have to order an actual shot with soda on the side. Shouldn’t charge a $10 cover if you’re going to cheat the customer on drinks.

Great place to dance with a big floor and good music. Drinks are decently priced.Beware, they call last call at 1:30AM instead of 1:45AM like every other dancehall in Texas. They start pushing you towards the front door at 1:45AM.Maybe the website should say “closes at 1:45AM”...Either way, this is the only real dancehall in Waco, check it out!

Under the old ownership, the ranch was great. However, the new ownership is ridiculous. I had a small pocket knife, which I carry daily, confiscated by some non-cop, high-and-mighty security guard, who came up to me, unprovoked and removed it from my pocket forcibly. I did nothing to provoke any sort of reaction such as this. Having been to the melody ranch dozens of times before under the old ownership, this was never an issue. No posted signs about any sort of new policy, with no previous issues ever had. Will not be returning any time soon. The old ownership never should have sold out. Completely ruined my nothing but positive previous experiences

The a/c was not working, the place is a dump, the staff is rude and crude. I would never recommend anyone go to this hell hole. Tracy Lawrence was great, but even he could not stand the heat for very long. Have seen him numerous time and he has never, ever taken a break until Saturday night June 17th at the pit they call the Melody Ranch. The a/c was out for days according to staff and these cheap losers did nothing to get it fixed. They did not inform you the a/c was not working before you paid to get in. We spent 250 for a table and the heat was so unbearable we had to leave. I mean how much would it have cost them to get port-o-coolers for their customers. I read where the owner is in the 35 south band wonder if he would have wanted to play at his own hell hole Saturday night? I see they have done no improvements in the last 35 years, it is a disgusting, dirty dump. AVOID AT ALL COST!!!!

Went last night. Your website said Jaron Bell was playing! Got there at 9 PM. Parking lot was almost empty! Not a good sign but we went anyway because Mr. Bells info sounded good. Went in, no band but the front door lady said they were running just a bit late. Sign said Shaker Hymn were the band! Asked about that she didnt know! Stage had drums n stuff on it saying Shaker Hymn were playing!! At some point it was announced the band w b there on 30 minutes! NOT!! At 10 PM band finally took the stage. ONE singer!! One mic!! Four guitars! Drums! No spotlight on the members as they were featured individually. No explanation for the hour late start. Sub-par music compared to what we have been hearing at MR. Perhaps a refund for the evening is in order?? I would like to hear from yall. Thanks!

I had a horrible experience here. I was accused of having a fake id and Mary tried to take my licences. She said she was calling the cops and TABC, all which I told her she would have to call because I was not leaving without my licence. I have been numerous times and have never in my life been stopped for that. After showing several different forms of information and 45 mins of my time wasted, my licences was returned. The manager came up to me and finally offered to let me in free of charge.***I would highly recommend another bar. Try Smilies, Crickets, True Love or any where else. before this place. Also, there was only a hand full of people in there once I was allowed to go in. Its a dive bar.***

Horrible new owners. They have lost my business entirely as well as many others. Firing the best employee they had for kicking someone out who disrespected our military. As well as firing many others who were huge assets to their business.I dont respect anyone who thinks its okay to disrespect our military or cause chaos in our Melody Ranch family.If you would like to go to a respectable dancehall. Smileys country club is the place to be now.Oh and lets not forget, they STOLE equipment and refuse to give it back to him

Showed my id at the desk, the lady asked me me for all my information because she thought it was fake, answered all my information correctly. She then went to the manager so i was hoping i could talk some some sense into this nonsense. Turns out she was still hesitant so they proceeded to keep my id and tell me to wait till an officer arrived here to check it. I must now wait 2 hours till he arrives. . Ive been here multiple times with my id checked

Most places the band starts at least by 9 pm this joint the band started at 10.pm and closes at 2am it doesnt say on website the hours !! Dance floor was big and in good shape , band was good and not crowded at all , 7 dollars for cover charge , band just needs to start sooner !!!

Mr. Fuentes better make things right or hes going to end up on live TV with myself & several others venting about out horrible our experience & amount of $$ we spent in miserable conditions. The different prices of drinks, the AC not working, diabetic people getting very sick, people severely dehydrated & so on.

I always have a good time when me and my friends go to Melody!! Drink prices are reasonable; bartenders Shawnelle and Ralph take good care of me; the dance floor is large and DJ Lito is AWESOME! Also enjoy the bands they get, especially 35 South!

Melody Ranch is my go-to Saturday night destination while Im visiting Waco. Both mature and younger patrons fill the dancehall to enjoy the weekly live country music bands. Head bartender Shawnelle goes above and beyond to make sure our groups are comfortable and seated near the stage. No drama, no trouble, no altercations. Top notch dance floor with no smoking indoors. Huge plus! Cant wait to visit again :)

If you are going to play music on Monday nights or let a DJ practice please have respect for the people who live in the neighborhood. Its bad enough we dont sleep on Thursday night. We do have to get up in the morning and go to work!!!

I have been a customer for 50 years I am happy that new owners have bought the ranch I. Have seen some changes however the ranch needs a paint job when it opened it was painted barn red with white trim I hope paint is in the future it needs to be updated

This venue is a dump, the air was not working. They should have a back up plan for the performers. Its was so hot, they had to take a break.

It was a terrible experience, the female bouncer was a Karen and extremely rude. If you see her at the door just turn around and go home. Screw the Vets and those who serve this country I guess.

Came to town to visit and we were looking for a place that reminded us of home, I havent paid that much for a drink except at a NBA game! $9.50 for a double Jim beam and coke, youd think it was laced with gold!!!!

I wasn’t there too long but it was a good place for dancing with a great floor plan. Service was good too.

Not a huge fan of the new “ranch” bar tenders are rude, drinks are badly made, and the “crowd” isn’t what it used to be.

Echo made the whole night! Security was on point with making sure I had the best time and was looked after 😁

My wife and I used to come here from time to time. Really hit or miss with the crowd, some nights they can be fine and other nights just plain annoying and rude.

No a/c working and from what we were told it had been out for 2 days , they knew they had Tracy Lawrence concert on Saturday but was waiting till after the concert to get fixed .. I will never go to this place again a huge waist of $40 to leave by 10:30 and listed to 2 or 3 songs do to the unbearable heat in the hall .. 👎👎👎👎👎.. what a dump ..

Fun atmosphere and cheap drinks but not thrilled about paying $10 to get in on a Saturday when I’m over 21

My first experience visiting for a comedy event which was pretty good but they were unorganized (we had to wait outside of the event for over an hour even with VIP seating, I won’t be back

Got kicked out by washing my hands as soon as I entered and was given no refund. Do not recommend to anyone.

A/c was out and it was miserbale. Even the artist had to take a break and said it was too hot. Love the music, hate the environment. I wont be back

One night from a bad concert will not change my love for the place. It is cold in here now and always a great time.

It was fun! I came from Japan!During my stay, I went twice on weekdays and on weekends, and the atmosphere was completely different. I get the impression that there are a lot of young people on weekdays. On the weekends, people of all ages danced on the large dance floor, and it was fun just to watch them dance!
