I was spoiled by inexpensive thai massage in San Francisco. When I moved to Virginia, I had to locate a thai massage place. Ive been a member of Champaka for about 8 years, and their workers are phenomenal. My favorite, Maggie, moved on to nursing school. Now I regularly see...well, Im not going to tell you because she is booked out for months, and I dont want anyone else making appointments with her. 😉 Try them all. You wont be disappointed. I prefer to get 2-hr massages with Ashiatsu (walk on back) and deep tissue. The traditional thai massage is also wonderful. I highly recommend Champaka Thai Massage.

Very Professional - Nice relaxing setting and polite staff. We had a couples authentic thai massage. We walked into the room which had three mats on the floor separated by curtains. We opened one curtain so we could actually have a couples massage. We put on the big cloth pants and shirt, and the massage began from the feet to the back with pressing and light massage. Then the masseuse walked across our legs and back while using her toes as massage, was amazing! Then a bunch of leg, hip, back, and shoulder stretching...felt great. Followed up by flipping over amd getting an oiled shoulder, neck, scalp massage. Juliet was my masseuse and she was very thorough and communicative. Rim was the other masseuse who was good, but not as good as Juliet. Rim didnt give a foot massage to my wife and also didnt give instructions on how to get ready for the massage, my wife had to ask Juliet.Would have gotten 5 stars, but the price was on the high side at $80 for 60 min. The massage was definitely 5 stars tho. Highly recommended!!

I had the unfortunate experience of visiting Champaka Thai Massage & Spa recently, and I feel compelled to share my disappointment with the community. I had booked an appointment for a deep tissue massage, eagerly anticipating a rejuvenating and professionally executed session. Unfortunately, my experience was far from what I had hoped for.From the moment I arrived, the ambiance seemed promising, but it all went downhill from there. The massage I received lacked any semblance of professionalism. It felt like a random application of oil and an elbow massage that failed to target the specific muscles I had requested. There was a noticeable absence of a methodical approach, leaving me frustrated and dissatisfied throughout the entire session.What made matters worse was my attempt to communicate my concerns to the staff. Despite expressing my dissatisfaction and seeking an early conclusion to the massage, there was no acknowledgment or effort to address my concerns. I wrote them a personal email on December 3rd 2023, but no response after a week of waiting.It pains me to write this review, but I feel its necessary to urge others to reconsider before choosing Champaka Thai Massage & Spa for their wellness needs. The lack of attention to customer experience is disheartening, and I would hate for others to undergo a similarly disappointing visit.I believe in the importance of constructive feedback, and I sincerely hope that the establishment takes steps to address these issues for the sake of future patrons. In the meantime, I would strongly advise anyone seeking a quality massage experience to explore other options in the area.Remember, your well-being is important, and there are many reputable establishments that prioritize their customers satisfaction over profit. Choose wisely, and I hope your spa day is far more relaxing than mine was at Champaka Thai Massage & Spa.

As soon as you walk through the door the service is timely and kind. The environment is calm and caters to preparing for a massage. I experienced my first traditional Thai massage here and thoroughly enjoyed it. I highly recommend booking an appointment here!

I went to Champaka for a 60 minute Traditional Thai Massage and it was the best massage I have had in this area. My entire body feels relaxed and I don’t have any pain in my neck and back. I’ve lived in Thailand for many years and this is the exact same massage techniques used there. My masseuse, Bowie, was extremely warm, friendly, and got all the right pressure points to help me on some back pain I had. The front desk manager was also very friendly and nice. I highly recommended this establishment!

This is an easy going, no-fuss spa. I loved it. Just had a 90 Minute deep tissue massage with Ben. This massage was phenomenal. Easily the best I have had in years. Ben found some really deep knots in my shoulders and on my neck and went over them multiple times to help get them out, trying different techniques. I feel amazing and relaxed. Honestly, book now.

Dara is amazing! She has mastered the skill of a deep tissue while keeping the client completely relaxed allowing them to focus on their breathing. She is consistent with her moves so the brain easily calms down not thinking of their next move or technique. Booking my next appt now.

Honestly disappointed after all the amazing reviews. My husband and I came for a couples massage looking for our new therapist as our regular moved out of the area. Front Desk was amazing with scheduling. Massages were average, most disappointing part was we scheduled for deep tissue but AFTER our massages were over BOTH therapists informed us they wont do deep tissue on first time clients. Why was I allowed to schedule and pay for this service?

New customer service member at front desk is terrible. I was accused of not canceling my appointment and a full charge was pulled from my account. After three hours of back and forth and being told that I hadnt sent any correspondence canceling. I sent a screenshot and copy of my written request to cancel. No apology for the inconvenience was given as a professional courtesy. After nearly five years of membership. I felt like I was treated less than a five year membership paying family member. Prices have jumped and quality has fallen as several therapist have departed. Ownership please do better as I can no longer tell me friends and coworkers to visit this establishment.

I have a membership here, I love my regular massage therapist, they are so good and nice. But with the booking and charging of CC, they have a rule that doesn’t make sense. I have 5 more hours of massage that was charged in my CC, I called to put a hold on my upcoming charges until there’s 2 hrs left then they can continue the charges.. they said they will cancel my account and I have to wait for 6 months to reinstate. It wasn’t even my fault for not having massage..as of this time, they’re next booking is already December. This is unprofessional. Even my gym membership, I can put freeze if I go on vacation….

Everyone is very polite and courteous, they confirm your choices and are focused on staying on schedule, so youre not kept waiting. They do have a space for couples massages, as well as single rooms. The masseuses are professional and skilled, and ensure that you stay comfortable. Very nice place, I look forward to my next visit!

Message therapists are very good if you can get an appointment.Most evening appointments are at least 10-14 days in advance. If you request a specific message therapist or message then you can wait a month or more.They charge $79/month regardless of whether you have an appointment or not. The hours accrue but are difficult to use if there are no appointments available.

Ive been here several times but it had been several months since my last treatment. This time, I received the traditional Thai massage, the difference in my range of motion without pain is significant, thus, motivating me to keep my visits in much closer together. Thank you!!!

I bought an Ayurvedic Thai head massage for my husband’s birthday. He cameBack disappointed and irritated. He didn’t enjoy the massage at all, lady barely did anything to the head, I was hoping to give him a best experience it’s rather disappointing on his birthday.

Ben is amazing and is great at providing an incredibly relaxing, soothing experience and I always leave feeling so great!! I also went to AJ as well and she did a PHENOMENAL job working on all the little kinks and spots that Ive been complaining about to other massage therapists elsewhere for years. I have a monthly subscription but Im also supplementing with a bi-weekly massage to undo the years of stress and tension that Ive been holding in forever! Amazing, spa-like experience, clean, comfortable atmosphere and always the best customer service. I HIGHLY recommend them!

I always have knots in my neck and shoulder from work. I have been coming here for the past few months and it has done wonders for my aches and pains. I usually see Song and she is absoulety wonderful you can tell she really cares about making you feel better and never rushes you out the door like other places do when the hour is up. She is very thorough and I always feel light on my feet the days following. The staff is also very pleasant and it has a very relaxing atmosphere. They are slightly pricier than other places but it is worth every penny!

Ive been twice. Once for the signature massage that lasted two hours and turned me into a Gumby doll and the second for an hour-long traditional Thai massage. It felt great but if going the traditional route expect to stretch in some unexpected ways. My body felt great afterwards, so breathe into those stretches and the result is good.

If you have not experienced getting a massage from Champaka then you are truly missing out! They are absolutely incredible! I am never disappointed. I am so relaxed by the time I am done! I have never felt that way at any other place and I have been to many different massage therapists in the past. I just got my massage license so I know how hard they work! They are amazing so definitely give them a try!

I love this place. Been visiting weekly for a long time. I like having my back walked on, deep tissue and cupping. I usually see Maggie or Fatima and they are both amazing therapist. Both skilled, knowledgeable and they care, really want to help you feel better. Cupping my legs has been changing my life. I have a terrible back with multiple issues. Herniation, spinal stenosis and a fracture a few years ago. Its rough dealing with chronic pain. But coming here, regularly, has helped tremendously and these two ladies have improved my quality of life very much. Also, Carolyn, who works the front desk is super helpful. She is organized, always has my schedule on point and keeps my visits on track with my add-ons and always notes my allergies, as I have many. Wonderful place. I highly recommend.

Did a couples massage for our anniversary. From scheduling the appointment to the massage itself (get your back walked on - amazing!) and paying they are wonderful. In an area where customer service leaves much to be desired Champaka knows how to do it right.

Just came out of a 90-minute massage. absolutely one of the best experiences Ive ever had and Ive had over 500 massages all across the world. my massage therapist was Bebe and she was absolute expert. the environment was very inviting. very nice front desk. thank you too Vilma for being so nice highly recommended

Marina was great as always! I’ve been trying to get in for a while. They are very busy and appointments always full.This time I added my name to waiting list. I received a call back shortly after.Marina did her magic on my aching muscles and I left feeling much more relaxed and rejuvenated!

The owner, Lamai, personally took the initiative and offered a personalized attention to ensure full satisfaction during my second visit, especially after the first visit that didn’t go so well. She was amazing, more like a true spiritual healer than just a masseuse. She had full command of her skills, confidence, and amazing fluency of her technique. More importantly, she truly cared to deliver a healing touch. Despite her many responsibilities, she took the time to leave a lasting positive impression,which truly embodied her intention to heal those in pain. I was utterly impressed and thankful for her help. I look forward to my future visits.

I credit our membership and frequent massages with lowering our stress levels and improving our overall health. Champaka Thai Massage is extremely popular... Thankfully their online appointment application makes booking an appointment convenient.

This was my first traditional Thai massage and it was outstanding. It was a great combination of pressure and stretching. It was very clean all above board and well worth it. One hour means one hour. Oh and the walk on my back was just what the doctor ordered.

The decor is lovely. If you arrive on time, the complementary foot bath is refreshing. The complementary hot tea is to die for and it completes a perfect experience after your massage. The ladies at the front desk are welcoming. Vanessa gives the best deep tissue massage. I had Ben work on me once when Vanessa wasnt available and I wouldnt hesitate to see him again.

I purchased a 90 minute Thai massage session for my wife for Mothers Day, and she left the place relaxed and happy. They also offer deep tissue and ashiatsu massage. I got there early to pick her up and they gave me yummy spicy hot tea and cold fruit-infused water to drink while I waited; when she came out, she received these as well and was given time to sit in the lobby before departure. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.

My sister-in-law took me here today. It was the most amazing massages i have ever had! and ive had plenty. The Thai and deep tissue. I feel like a new person. Helped my back problems and super tight muscles. I highly recommend

This place is amazing!!! Beautiful & inviting energy first walking through the door. My masseuse, AJ, was awesome! Her attentiveness, sequence & style were perfect, best massage Ive had ...and Ive had like 50! I had a bad neck / upper back pain that brought me in, couldnt turn my neck to either side or sit up without supporting my neck. After the massage, I could rotate all the way to either side & can move much easier without supporting it!! They also make there own tea in house, its sooooo good -lemongrass & ginger. Highly recommend

I went there for a prenatal massage and asked over the phone several times to confirm if they have the special bed for pregnant ladies to lay on their stomach. I was reassured by the front desk that they do have it. But at the time of my appointment I was told that they dont have it and I felt deceived. I called several massage places before picking champaka to make sure that they have the special bed as I was looking forward to it. The overall massage was ok but I wouldnt come here for prenatal again.

Well, I wont be getting my massages anywhere else but here from now on. This was a completely new experience for me, and I enjoyed every moment. I came in with some lower back troubles (a pinched nerve from too many months of no exercise after I had my baby), and the method AJ used on me made me feel like a completely different person. I could tell she was really feeling for tight muscles and responding accordingly, not just performing rote techniques. Its an incredibly effective, almost medicinal approach. I got an hour massage here and it was great. They offer introductory prices, if you havent been here before. They have a wide range of massages offered. Id recommend it as a massage parlor, but they claim to be a spa and the lack of other options such as facials is why I rated it as 4 stars.

Please read before judging my rate. The massage that I got a month ago was great, but to me customer service is everything. Saturday I was charge $99 for a massage I did not book and then a late fee for an appointment I didn’t schedule. When I attempted to call up there I was told I would get a call back about my refund that day. Never heard anything, so I called again 2 days later and I am told to go online and send the owner an email. So I go online and send an email and I wait about 3 days and I hear nothing, so I called back and now I’m told we don’t know when the owner will respond we can’t do anything. For a false charge and from there I had to file a disputed with my bank because they would not give me a refund and the owner just ignoring me at that point. I did not appreciate that and I will not be going back. Especially since I did not know my card information was being saved. Nothing in the paper work and they didn’t ask to save it when I went the first time. Terrible experience for me and I will not go back. This is not the first time they’ve had this kind of encounter.

I have had two amazing signature massages here by AJ. The facility is nice and clean and they are always pleasant and punctual. I really enjoy the full experience and the price is absolutely worth it. They know what they are doing and sure find and work out those knots!I highly recommend them!

Ive been going to Champaka Thai Massage and Therapy and I couldnt be happier! Ive been mainly seeing BB for the past month to help me relieve nerve pain from toxin buildup in my muscles. Every time after therapy they always ask me questions about what procedures helped me the most and then they log it into their computer for reference. Ive had two different girls help me when BB wasnt in and they knew exactly what needed to be done because of all the notes. Whenever I have my muscles massaged they know exactly where my pain is and they apply the perfect amount of pressure. When I say perfect I mean perfect!! Its like theyre reading my mind they know exactly when the stop!I highly recommend Champaka Thai Massage and Therapy!

Amazing pre natal massage with Diedre. Im 9 months pregnant and been having trouble breathing and all around soreness. She was able to relax my aches and pains and open up my diaphragm so I could breathe much more easily. My husband got the walk on the back massage and he said it was the best massage he ever had!

This was my first experience with Thai massage and it was great. It differs from typical massage in that theres passive stretching involved. It was very relaxing and as someone with joint problems I definitely felt much looser afterwards. Id recommend this place.

I love love love this place! Juliet and Oum are both wonderful at the traditional Thai massage. You wear comfortable clothing and they really help you with problem areas.

Worst customer service. Sold us a gift card for a massage and when recipient tried to use it, they were told they had to pay more money since they had been there before. How do you sell a gift massage that includes a tip and then try to get more money when they try to use it. Horrible place. Dont do business with them.

Unfortunate experience of front desk staff being extremely rude to one of the massage therapists. This made me very uncomfortable especially because I could tell it bothered the therapist.

Ive made a few visits at this facility to treat my back and shoulder pains. Every treatment was so helpful for me. Very pleasant experience overall. Highly recommend
