Lit at Downtown Nightclub & Patio Bar

Officially my favorite night club in Gainesville! A perfect size venue to chill with friends. The theme of this club is amazing and love hanging out on the upper floor patio!

I really missed when Lit at Midtown shutdown so it was a pleasure to see it reopening in a better location in downtown. I go visit once every week or once every two weeks and always have a great time. The drinks are priced well and the atmosphere is good. A few weeks ago they did a rave night that was one of the most fun events I’d been two in my 5 years in Gainesville.

Typical college bar, or Mexican street food restaurant? Suburban neighborhood or hidden gem? As if this place somehow lost its identity, its the food that converted this place into a sparkling fountain of youth. With a menu starring deals every day for $1 tacos, to quesadillas that made me think it was a hamburger, the food has the whole city of Gainesville on watch. I havent had street food like this, and with a kitchen thats open late, this is the place to be when you either want a drink or some munchies. If El Jefes tried more to be a restaurant, they would see success like no other, unfortunately its attitude still revolves around the bar, where most people sit. The outdoor patio is another hidden gem, with plenty of seating and a full bar, but something needs to be attractive about this place. Unlike the positives, this place is, as one would say, a hidden gem. Its not noticeable from the outside, and whatever reputation it held beforehand was that of a bar, not a restaurant. The potential for being the next swamp is strong with this restaurant, but the swamp had more seating, hint hint.

LIT was exactly what downtown needed! Awesome atmosphere and great music. Me and my friends had a great time! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a popping night club in GNV

This place is unbelievably loud and absolutely not the place to go if you are a UF student. Sooooooo many better clubs in the area. The food was nasty and delayed and the bass inside makes it unbearable to sit without getting a massive headache after. Save your time and money and just go to the other clubs in the area. The venue itself isnt all that great either...kinda dingy.

Edit: I guess the quality isnt controlled well. Ordered again, got some wings that taste like they lived at the bottom a fryer for a few days. Sigh.Great wings.Ordered late night on a whim. Easily the best prepared wings Ive had in Gainesville.

It’s not called Lit for no reason. Great venue and space and the prices are perfect for college students looking to drink and not go broke.

I love to come to LIT and chill! This place is perfect for this! Delicious drinks, good food. Good music, great staff! You will not regret if you spend your evening in this place!! I highly recommend spending your nights here!

Great experience at the Restaurant. Good service, nice open lay out and the food was amazing. The owner was very personable and the server was very respectful. Highly recommend the spot.

Went there a few times and the experience was NOT PLEASANT. Do not reccomend. It was gross and not sanitary and the service wasnt great. The music was way too loud. there are better clubs in the area!!

Between the music, venue, and drinks, this is hands down the best club in the area for House.

It is not the best food or the best atmosphere :(. My waffle was cold and I felt unwelcomed here. I support small businesses but I guess only good ones.

I was expecting more from a club where I had to wait in a line to get into. I had to leave earlier than I planned to because the music was so loud that I got a headache. Wasted my time here and wont be coming back.
